• Automapping to EntityKeys in Entity Framework

    - by CodeGrue
    Does anyone have a technique to automap (using Automapper) references to child entities. So say I have a ViewModel: class AddressModel { int Id; string Street; StateModel State; } class StateModel { int Id; string Name; } And I pass this into a repository to map to equivalent entities in Entity Framework. When Automapping, I want it to automap AddressModel.State.ID to the EntityKey of AddressEntity.StateReference. So hand crafted code would look like this: addressEntity.Id = AddressModel.Id; addressEntity.Street = AddressModel.Street addressEntity.StateReference.EntityKey = new EntityKey("MyDB.States", "Id", AddressModel.State.Id); Obviously, when automapper tries to assign an Address.State.Id to the equivalent in EF, an exception is thrown.

  • Does collections type conversion util methods already exist in any API?

    - by Delta
    interface TypeConverter<T, E> { T convert(E e); } class CollectionUtil() { public static <E> List<T> convertToList(List<E> fromList, TypeConverter<T, E> conv) { { if(fromList== null) return null; List<T> newList = new ArrayList<T>(fromList.size()) for(E e : fromList) { newList.add(conv.convert(e)); } return newList; } } Above code explains converting from List of String to List of Integer by implementing TypeConverter interface for String, Integer. Are there already any collections conversion utility methods exists in any API like list to set and so on?

  • Referencing Excel Sheets with JET Driver Sheets Are Duplicated with Underscores

    - by MasterMax1313
    I'm referencing an excel document with the JET database driver, which was working just fine until one day the application failed. Upon further investigation I noticed that the tabs were duplicated in some instances (all tabs actually) - i.e. Tab1$ and Tab1$_. I've researched this issue and found that it is caused by the user applying a filter. Now the filters have been removed, no special formatting, frozen panes, or print formats, but still I have these tabs duplicated. Normally I'd code around this, but since we're in a code freeze I need to come up with an Excel based solution. I want to get rid of those crazy underscored tab names / reverences. I could probably run a program to clean up the file if necessary, to send it back to the users, but I want to explore Excel options first. Thoughts? I have Excel 2010, and access to any other version as well.

  • UITableView with Core Data and fetchedResultsController - don't want to call it at start up

    - by zebulon
    Hi all, I started with the Navigation-based application. I have a UITableView that shows the content fetched from CoreData - using the - (NSFetchedResultsController *)fetchedResultsController from the template. The thing is that I don't want to fill the TableView with the results at the start-up, instead I want to fill the TableView with the results from a search. In my app I have an UITextField, where the user can type a string. And from that string, using predicate, I want to fill the UITableView with the results. In other words, at start-up, the UITableView should be empty and later filled with the search-results. Does anyone have an idea on how to accomplish this? Thanks in advance! EDIT: Solved it by moving out if (![fetchedResultsController_ performFetch:&error]) { and calling it later. I feel a bit stupid ;)

  • Using Qt's XML library for simple operation

    - by David Powers
    I basically want to use the XML parser from Qt in my existing project. I have only used Qt once before, and that was with Qt Designer, and I am not having much luck finding anything on Google about how to just use the XML library. I have downloaded a web page that has one large list, and I want to parse it and add each list item to a c++ list. I found this sample code on Ubuntu forums... http://www.uluga.ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=9112973&postcount=6 I want to use that except I need to know what exactly I need to add to the project to get access to it. One other small question is QDomDocument seems to be for files (makes sense) but I have the XML in a string. What part of the XML library works for contents of a string?

  • Need to open to two excel files and add numbers from them into a third file using vba.

    - by Harpyar Singh
    I have two excel files which has similar formatting and the data map each other from cell b15:h31. Row 15 is heading and so is the column B. I want to read file1 cell by cell and add that cell's content to the corresponding cell in File 2 i.e C16 in file 1 gets added to C16 in file 2, C17 in file 1 to C17 in file 2 and so on. The output goes in file 3 or anything. trying to implement through vba but of no success so far. Does anyone know how to go about it.

  • golang dynamically parsing files

    - by Brian Voelker
    For parsing files i have setup a variable for template.ParseFiles and i currently have to manually set each file. Two things: How would i be able to walk through a main folder and a multitude of subfolders and automatically add them to ParseFiles so i dont have to manually add each file individually? How would i be able to call a file with the same name in a subfolder because currently I get an error at runtime if i add same name file in ParseFiles. var templates = template.Must(template.ParseFiles( "index.html", // main file "subfolder/index.html" // subfolder with same filename errors on runtime "includes/header.html", "includes/footer.html", )) func main() { // Walk and ParseFiles filepath.Walk("files", func(path string, info os.FileInfo, err error) { if !info.IsDir() { // Add path to ParseFiles } return }) http.HandleFunc("/", home) http.ListenAndServe(":8080", nil) } func home(w http.ResponseWriter, r *http.Request) { render(w, "index.html") } func render(w http.ResponseWriter, tmpl string) { err := templates.ExecuteTemplate(w, tmpl, nil) if err != nil { http.Error(w, err.Error(), http.StatusInternalServerError) } }

  • Attributed strings in UITableViewCells without WebView?

    - by arnekolja
    Hello, does anyone know if there's a way in with 3.0+ to display attributed strings within a UITableViewCell without using a UIWebView for that? I need to display a string with linked, tappable substrings as the typical detailTextLabel. I wouldn't mind exchanging this UILabel against another type of view, but I think a UIWebView could be just too slow when rendering a table with hundrets of cells. Or does someone have opposite experiences here? So my question is: what's the best way to achieve mixed strings in a very large table without a great performance hit? I searched for this almost a whole day now, but I can only find old posts mentioning that there's no attributed string on the iPhone (outdated, as this was pre-3.0) and/or saying that they use a UIWebView for that. But really, I don't think this would perform very well on large tables, would it? Many, many thanks in advance Arne

  • Best way to generate an automated report in Google Analytics for a specific collection of URLs

    - by Forrest Marvez
    Currently using Google Analytics as a supplement to our paid tracking software, but neither of them are giving us exactly what we need. I have a list of about 60 or so urls (out of about 1500) on the site that I wish to setup a monthly report for that can be emailed to multiple recipients. I can't seem to figure out how to create a report showing just the hits on these 60 urls, I can apply advanced filters on the content page but those disappear after a while and sometimes error out when adding too many URL's. Is there a method I'm missing in Google Analytics to achieve this goal or am I better running an SSIS package to pull the URL's from the API and formatting a document that way?

  • Gotchas INSERTing into SQLite on Android?

    - by paul.meier
    Hi friends, I'm trying to set up a simple SQLite database in Android, handling the schema via a subclass of SQLiteOpenHelper. However, when I query my tables, the columns I think I've inserted are never present. Namely, in SQLiteOpenHelper's onCreate(SQLiteDatabase db) method, I use db.execSQL() to run CREATE TABLE commands, then have tried both db.execSQL and db.insert() to run INSERT commands on the tables I've just created. This appears to run fine, but when I try to query them I always get 0 rows returned (for debugging, the queries I'm running are simple SELECT * FROM table and checking the Cursor's getCount()). Anybody run into anything like this before? These commands seem to run on command-line sqlite3. Are they're gotchas that I'm missing (e.g. INSERTS must/must not be semicolon terminated, or some issue involving multiple tables)? I've attached some of the code below. Thanks for your time, and let me know if I can clarify further. @Override public void onCreate(SQLiteDatabase db) { db.execSQL("CREATE TABLE "+ LEVEL_TABLE +" (" + " "+ _ID +" INTEGER PRIMARY KEY AUTOINCREMENT," + " level TEXT NOT NULL,"+ " rows INTEGER NOT NULL,"+ " cols INTEGER NOT NULL);"); db.execSQL("CREATE TABLE "+ DYNAMICS_TABLE +" (" + " level_id INTEGER NOT NULL," + " row INTEGER NOT NULL,"+ " col INTEGER NOT NULL,"+ " type INTEGER NOT NULL);"); db.execSQL("CREATE TABLE "+ SCORE_TABLE +" (" + " level_id INTEGER NOT NULL," + " score INTEGER NOT NULL,"+ " date_achieved DATE NOT NULL,"+ " name TEXT NOT NULL);"); this.enterFirstLevel(db); } And a sample of the insert code I'm currently using, which gets called in enterFirstLevel() (some values hard-coded just to get it running...): private void insertDynamic(SQLiteDatabase db, int row, int col, int type) { ContentValues values = new ContentValues(); values.put("level_id", "1"); values.put("row", Integer.toString(row)); values.put("col", Integer.toString(col)); values.put("type", Integer.toString(type)); db.insertOrThrow(DYNAMICS_TABLE, "col", values); } Finally, query code looks like this: private Cursor fetchLevelDynamics(int id) { SQLiteDatabase db = this.leveldata.getReadableDatabase(); try { String fetchQuery = "SELECT * FROM " + DYNAMICS_TABLE; String[] queryArgs = new String[0]; Cursor cursor = db.rawQuery(fetchQuery, queryArgs); Activity activity = (Activity) this.context; activity.startManagingCursor(cursor); return cursor; } finally { db.close(); } }

  • Poor man's "lexer" for C#

    - by Paul Hollingsworth
    I'm trying to write a very simple parser in C#. I need a lexer -- something that lets me associate regular expressions with tokens, so it reads in regexs and gives me back symbols. It seems like I ought to be able to use Regex to do the actual heavy lifting, but I can't see an easy way to do it. For one thing, Regex only seems to work on strings, not streams (why is that!?!?). Basically, I want an implementation of the following interface: interface ILexer : IDisposable { ///
/// Return true if there are more tokens to read ///
bool HasMoreTokens { get; } ///
/// The actual contents that matched the token ///
string TokenContents { get; } ///
/// The particular token in "tokenDefinitions" that was matched (e.g. "STRING", "NUMBER", "OPEN PARENS", "CLOSE PARENS" ///
object Token { get; } ///
/// Move to the next token ///
void Next(); } interface ILexerFactory { ///
/// Create a Lexer for converting a stream of characters into tokens ///
/// TextReader that supplies the underlying stream /// A dictionary from regular expressions to their "token identifers" /// <returns>The lexer</returns> ILexer CreateLexer(TextReader reader, IDictionary<string, object> tokenDefinitions); } So, pluz send the codz... No, seriously, I am about to start writing an implementation of the above interface yet I find it hard to believe that there isn't some simple way of doing this in .NET (2.0) already. So, any suggestions for a simple way to do the above? (Also, I don't want any "code generators". Performance is not important for this thing and I don't want to introduce any complexity into the build process.)

  • HTML form requirements specification

    - by Peder
    I am building a framework that will validate forms both client-side (javascript) and server-side based on a form requirements specification written in json. The purpose is to get rid of logically equivalent code on the server and client to make the code more maintainable, faster to write, and less buggy. The specification format may look something like: { '<field_name>' : ['<validation_function>', 'req', ['<requirement>', <param>], ...], ... } ( the requirement list is ordered so that the user can get most basic error messages first, the 'req' requirement must come first if it exists and means that the field is required) e.g.) { 'name' : ['string', 'req', ['min',6], ['max',150], ['match', /^[\sa-z0-9ÅÄÖåäö&]$/i], ['not_match', /^tmp_/]], 'email' : ['email', 'req'], 'email_confirm' : ['same_as', 'email'], 'password' : ['string', 'req', ['min', 6], ['max', 64], ['match', /^[a-z0-9\!@#\$%^&*_+.]$/i] ], } Does anyone know of a similar technology? I think the Rails validation framework solves the problem on the wrong level because I have found that forms often operate on more than one model.

  • best practice for passing many arguments to method ?

    - by Tony
    Occasionally , we have to write methods that receive many many arguments , for example : public void doSomething(Object objA , Object objectB ,Date date1 ,Date date2 ,String str1 ,String str2 ) { } When I encounter this kind of problem , I often encapsulate arguments into a map. Map<Object,Object> params = new HashMap<Object,Object>(); params.put("objA",ObjA) ; ...... public void doSomething(Map<Object,Object> params) { // extracting params Object objA = (Object)params.get("objA"); ...... } This is not a good practice , encapsulate params into a map is totally a waste of efficiency. The good thing is , the clean signature , easy to add other params with fewest modification . what's the best practice for this kind of problem ?

  • How do I set the user's locale on a JSP

    - by ebynum
    I have a .jsp page that the user loads directly. The request it with a URL like the following: http://www.example.com/myfile.jsp?country=CA&language=fr In the JSP, I pull the URL GET parameters and attempt to set the locale using them as follows: <% String myLanguage = request.getParameter("language"); String myCountry = request.getParameter("country"); Locale myLocale = new Locale(myLanguage, myCountry); pageContext.setAttribute("myLocale", myLocale, PageContext.PAGE_SCOPE); %> <fmt:setLocale value="${myLocale}" scope="page" /> There are several places in the JSP that then display a message pulled from a localized resource bundle using <bean:message bundle="ts" key="..." /> from Struts. On the first request for this page (after changing the language in the URL), it is returned in US English (the default Locale), and then subsequent refreshes will return the properly localized content.

According to the tutorial, running xjc on the schema, one will get PurchaseOrder.java interface and PurchaseOrderType.java interface. When I run xjc on my schema I only get a ProjectType.java class, and when the xml actually consist of a single element, this won't parse, because there are no Project.java class/interface to match.

  • Mapping an Array to a Single Row

Usage_Quantity_11 float, Usage_SomethingElse_11 nvarchar(16), How can I get this done?

    Hi, I'm trying to extract a number from a string. And do something like this [0-9]+ on this string "aaaa12xxxx" and get "12". I thought it would be something like: > grep("[0-9]+","aaa12xxx", value=TRUE) [1] "aaa12xxx" And then I figured... > sub("[0-9]+", "\\1", "aaa12xxxx") [1] "aaa12xxx" But I got some form of response doing: > sub("[0-9]+", "ARGH!", "aaa12xxxx") [1] "aaaARGH!xxx" There's a small detail I'm missing Please advice :-) I'm using R version 2.10.1 (2009-12-14) Thanks ! Comments on the solution The best solution is to ignore the standard functions and install Hadley Wickham's stringr package to get something that actually makes sense. Kudos to Marek for figuring out how the standard library worked.
