• servlet authentication and further reference to the credentials

    - by user553592
What I got so far: It all begins with an HTML form which prompts the user for a username and password. From there it post the acquired user/pass to a servlet, GateKeeper. GateKeeper determines if the user/pass combination match any records in the MySQL database. Here is the sql I use: SELECT id FROM Users WHERE username='?' AND password=MD5('?') where the ? indicate information provided the previous HTML form. What I need now: I need some way to store the username and id of the record in the database. GateKeeper redirects the user to a control panel upon success. Therefore, I need a method to reference the username to display simple greetings, etc and also the id so it eliminates unnecessary calls to the database. The control panel may make AJAX calls to Servlets that preform some sort of task to the MySQL database.

  • Enable mod_deflate

    - by Scarface
Hey guys quick question, I am kind of a noob at administering my server right now. I was just wondering if anyone could let me know what I was doing wrong in trying to enable mod_deflate. I have Apache 2.0+ and tried the code in my htaccess file AddOutputFilterByType DEFLATE text/html text/plain text/xml text/css <FilesMatch "\\.(js|css|html|htm|php|xml)$"> SetOutputFilter DEFLATE </FilesMatch> It did not compress any of my files when I tested my site in firebug. If anyone knows what I am doing wrong, would really appreciate any pointers.

msg = EmailMessage(subject, body, from_email, [to_email]) msg.content_subtype = "html" msg.send() This is how I send an email in Django. • Good JDBC pattern

    - by Java Developer
What is the good practice for database operation in Java application? Do you construct the DML syntax in the Java code and send the statements to DB engine for execution, or you just collect the parameters and then make a call to stored procedure with the parameters via java code? or neither because that's just not how to do it? can anyone give an example of a full database utility classes to do database operations in Java app? also what about the transaction manager? My assignment is to make database operation that is modular in Java. Thanks

  • How to prevent SQL Compact DB to be erased?

    - by Skuta
Hi, I'm developing an applciation using SQL Compact database in Visual Studio 2008. When I start the application and run the process, the data is being loaded into database for few hours worth of few tens of megabytes. However, when I quite debugging, change something in code (not in DB structure), run the project again, the database is erased. Does anyone know how to prevent this behavior? I need the data to stay in DB to test on it.

  • AJAX Closures and targeting 'this'

    - by Nick Lowman
    In the code example below the success callback function logs 'input#04.update' four times rather than each individual input, which makes sense seeing how closures work but how would I go about targeting each individual input using this.     function updateFields(){ $('input.update').each(function(){ $this = $(this); $.ajax({ data: 'id=' + this.id, success: function(resp){ console.log($this); $this.val(resp) } }); }); }

  • asset_packing tiny_mce files

I use inplacericheditor plugin and tiny_mce Before asset_packager usage, this is how I include the files and they work well <script src="/javascripts/patch_inplaceeditor_editonblank_1-8-2.js" type="text/javascript" My asset_packager.yml section looks like this for the above files: tinyeditor: patch_inplaceeditor_1-8-2 patch_inplaceeditor_editonblank_1-8-2 tiny_mce/tiny_mce tiny_mce_init tiny_mce/langs/en tiny_mce/themes/advanced/editor_template tiny_mce/themes/advanced/langs/en tiny_mce/plugins/save/editor_plugin tiny_mce/plugins/autoresize/editor_plugin tiny_mce/plugins/paste/editor_plugin tiny_mce/plugins/preview/editor_plugin tiny_mce/plugins/table/editor_plugin tiny_mce/plugins/contextmenu/editor_plugin tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/editor_plugin inplacericheditor When I include the asset_packaged file and load the page (in production) I get the following errors: "Ajax.InPlaceEditor is undefined" "Ajax.InPlaceRichEditor is not a constructor" Can anyone shed some light on where I am going wrong or share a better way to asset_package tinymce? Thanks!

  • how Two elements - IMG - DIV when hover over IMG show/hide the DIV - added with hover hide/show on i

    - by Jan Fosgerau
Im very new to the wonder that is jquery. and i just figure out how to make my img buttons show/hide with a opacity difference (as such) which is good and all. but i also need to make the button when hovered over show text just above it that is specific to that button. i made these here elements that are looped in a for each.

<xsl:value-of select="@nodeName"/>

i need to make the individual text appear when hovered over its button. hence i have the id="page-{@id}" looped out along and need to get this place in the jquery code i presume. so when i hover over a img class="ExcommKnap" it makes the correct text visible. But i need the div id="page-{id}" to be invisible to begin with on pageload and then visible when its button is being hovered over. can anyone help ?

  • How to do something after effect animation ends in Flex?

    - by Chobicus
I'm a beginner in Flex so there must be more elegant way of doing this. //move effect private var m:Move = new Move(); //this function creates labels with some text and starts move effect on them public function moveText(i:int):void { var myLabel:Label = new Label(); myLabel.text = "some text"; m.target = myLabel; ... m.play(); } Method moveText is called in a loop so I guess that labels don't get "garbage collected". What I want to do is to remove Labels created in moveText method after play animation ends. Another way of doing this is maybe creating some kind of "pool" of labels which I would use to move arround text. I don't know how would I return labels in to "pool". The question is how to do something after effect animation ends?

  • does jQuery UI have a way to achieve this Flash button's functionality?

    - by Tim
There's a button in Flash which looks something like a jQuery SplitButton. The Flash button consists of two parts, the text and the icon. [text portion] [v] I have used it to display string search operators for the user: equals, starts with, ends with, contains. In Flash, when the icon is clicked, the text-area drops down a list of choices; it would look like this: [ ] [v] equals starts with ends with contains And when the user makes a choice from the list, the choice is displayed in the text area of the button and the list rolls up. [ starts with ] [v] I'm trying to convert my Flash app and am hoping to come up with a counterpart to this functionality. For space considerations on the form, a radio-button-group would be less than ideal. That's the major virtue of this Flash button -- it's very economical in its use of screen real-estate. Thanks for any answers/suggestions.

  • Question regarding xsd

    - by Hima
I have an application which reads the data from the database, creates an object out of the data, marshalls it into an xml and enqueue the xml to a queue which is producer. The xml is dequeued from the queue by a consumer. I need to use xsds at two different places. For database access while reading the data from the database and For interaction between producer and consumer Can the same xsd be used in both the cases? Or do I need to use different xsds?

  • How is my EditText content being saved?

    - by hwexler2
I created a simple app that has nothing except an EditText element. When I run the app, I type text into the element and then press Ctrl-F11 to change the emulator's orientation. I've added logging information to make sure that the activity gets destroyed and re-created when I change orientation. I haven't added any code to save the text in the EditText element and yet, after the change of orientation, the text that I typed stays in the EditText element. What mechanism in Android is saving and then restoring the element's text (is it savedInstanceState) and how can I see for myself the details of this saving operation?

  • jQuery - if div height over 'x', show only content within the visible div, add an image and scroll u

    - by Nicki
Apologies, I'm very new to jQuery. I am trying to apply jQuery to a div which could contain any number of p tags of varying length or none at all. Depending on the assembled p's this div needs to maintain a height of 45px. If the p's contained therein push the div to be higher than 45px then I need to add an anchor image which users can click allowing the div to slide up and reveal the div's contents. I've browsed the plugins but can't find anything to cater for this.

h3 Title

text

text

text

text

text

  • jquery next siblings

    - by Contra
Hi stackoverflow! (first post!) Ive been trying to get this problem solved, but I cant seem to figure it out without some serious workarounds. if I have the following html code:

headertext

text

text

text

headertext

text

text

Now, how do I now just select the li's following the first parent (or second, for that matter)? Basically selecting an li with class=parent and the following siblings until it reaches another li with the parent class. I could restructure the list with nested lists, but I dont want to do that. Any suggestions?

  • Docmd.TransferText question

    - by every_answer_gets_a_point
b'h i will be programmatically importing a text file into a table. i have saved the import steps. i will use this: DoCmd.TransferText(TransferType, SpecificationName, TableName, FileName, HasFieldNames, HTMLTableName, CodePage) to do the import. this is what SpecificationName means: Specification Name The specification name for the set of options that determines how a text file is imported, exported, or linked. For a fixed-width text file, you must either specify a specification name or use a schema.ini file, which should be stored in the same directory as the imported, linked, or exported text file. i do need a specific specification; however i do not know how to specify one. when i manually imported a table, i did save the specifications for my import, however i do not know how to call this in the TransferText. does anyone know how to specify SpecificationName ?
