Tie::Hash has these:
sub FIRSTKEY { my $a = scalar keys %{$_[0]}; each %{$_[0]} }
sub NEXTKEY { each %{$_[0]} }
NEXTKEY takes two arguments, one of which is the last key but that arg is never referenced?
The various Tie docs don't shed any light on this other than this in perltie:
my $a = keys %{$self->{LIST}}; # reset each() iterator
looking at the doc for each doesn't add to this.
What's going on?

I need a shallow copy of an java ArrayList, should I use clone() or iterate over original list and copy elements in to new arrayList, which is faster ?
I know that when a row is selected in list view, the function onListItemClick() is called.
I want to know which function is called when a row in ListView is highlighted(not selected).
Vim is my editor of choice, and I feel I am above average in my use of it. I do recognize, though, that the feature list of vim is huge. With this in mind, I was wondering what features you vim users out there use on a regular basis.
In my application I need to keep track of a list of objects that are being displayed. Right now I have an NSArray with all of the NSManagedObjects. Would I be better off to store the ObjectIDs and then only request the object when I need it?
I am mainly concerned about memory at this point.
Actually what I want - simple DB with simple User Interface. Like MS Access, but for web and it can be without Dragn n Drop, but described with markup language.
For example if I want to create list report, then i need to write something like:
<table query="SELECT * from mytable"></table>
It needed for simple data applications. In that kind application no programming logic required. Just working with DB. Changing DB data and showing it.
I have an object allStudents=Dictionary()
In Linq how would I get a list of all the students who are male? (student.Gender=="m") from all the Classrooms?

Tables:
Product: [id, name, brand_id, is_published]
Brand: [id, name, is_published]
Awards: [id, name]
ProductAwards [product_id, award_id]
How do I select the list of PUBLISHED brands along with the number of AWARDS of brand's products that are Published.
I am cool with all the part except issuing the "is_published" restriction when counting Awards.
I hope this is clear; can anyone just suggest where to dig?
You can do this:
.info
{
padding: 5px ;
}
Or, if you know it will be a div, you can do this
div.info
{
padding: 5px ;
}
So, when there's a nested list.. you can do this..
div.info ul.navbar li.navitem a.sitelink
{
color: #f00;
}
Or you can do this
a.sitelink
{
color: #f00;
}
Readability aside, which is better for the browser to parse/run?
I need to parse C#, Ruby and Python source code to generate some reports. I need to get a list of method names inside a class.
What parsers for those languages are provided?
For C#, I found http://csparser.codeplex.com/Wikipage , but for the others, I found a bunch of parsers using those languages, but not the language parsers of them.
It's been asked a million times, its like this.
Say Invoice is the base class and InvoiceHistory is the class that simply inherits from Invoice.
When I do something like
invoiceList = session.CreateCriteria(typeof(Invoice)).List();
I get everything from Invoice (that I want, plus everything from InvoiceHistory).
Do I need to have an InvoiceBase and create derived versions for Invoice and InvoiceHistory?
I'm currently trying to perform a deep crawl within a small list of sites. To accomplish this, I updated conf/domain-urlfilter.txt with the domains of the sites I wish to scrape, which worked nicely. However, I found that not only were the links crawled at every step filtered, but the outlinks captured from each page crawled were filtered as well.
Is there a way to avoid filtering captured outlinks while still filtering crawled URLs?
I've just found in my java project this code snippet:
List<IssueType> selectedIssueTypes = new ArrayList<IssueType>();
for (Object item : selectedItems)
selectedIssueTypes.add((IssueType) item);
How do you think, can this style be used?
Often, I am building an array by iterating through some data, e.g.:
my_array = []
for n in range(1000):
# do operation, get value
my_array.append(value)
# cast to array
my_array = array(my_array)
I find that I have to first build a list and then cast it (using "array") to an array. Is there a way around these? all these casting calls clutter the code... how can I iteratively build up "my_array", with it being an array from the start?
thanks.
What is the best way to store the cards and suits in python so that I can hold a reference to these values in another variable?
For example, if I have a list called hand (cards in players hand), how could I hold values that could refer to the names of suits and values of specific cards, and how would these names and values of suits and cards be stored?
Here is my problem.
I need more than one row from the database, and i need the first row for certain task and then go through all the list again to create a record set.
$query = "SELECT * FROM mytable";
$result = mysql_query($query);
$firstrow = //extract first row from database
//add display some field from it
while($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result)) {
//display all of them
}
Now, how to extract just the first row?
any better way to write this ?
$(this).parent().parent().find(" dd ul").toggle();

I am trying to create a dropdown using the script here
http://www.jankoatwarpspeed.com/post/2009/07/28/reinventing-drop-down-with-css-jquery.aspx
however the script works only for one instance of list and my code works good for multiple instances. Just curious if there is another better way to get parent of a parent in jQuery
Every time i pass some parameters to a JavasScript or jQuery functon, i use some random letters. What are the correct letters for the corresponding variable types?
function(o){} for example is for a object. But what are the other letters? Do someone have a list of those?
I want to have some way of backing up the user defaults to a property list or XML, or some other appropriate file format that can be transfered over the net. How could I get a backup of these so that I can send them to a webserver and retrieve them back to the device and read them in to the user defaults database?
