  • Is it possible to unpage all memory in Windows?

    I have plenty of RAM, however, after starting and finishing a large number of processes, it seems that most of the applications' virtual memory has been paged to disk, and switching to any of the older processes requires a very long time to load the memory back into RAM. Is there a way, either via Windows API or via kernel call, to get Windows to unpage all (or as much as possible) memory? Maybe by stepping through the list of running processes and get the memory manager to unpage each process's memory?

  • I need a row Added event for a DataGridView

    What i want to do is set the background of a row based on some criteria, but the datagrid will be fairly large so i don't want to have to loop over all the rows again. The rows get created me doing something like "myDataGridView.DataSource = MyDataSource, so the only way i can think to edit rows is by using an event. there is a row*s* added event, but that gives me a list of rows that i'd have to iterate over. Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Multiple controllers with a single model

    I'm setting up a directory application for which I need to have two separate interfaces for the same Users table. Basically, administrators use the Users controller and views to list, edit, and add users, while non-admins need a separate interface which lists users in a completely different manner. To do this, would I be able to just set up another controller with different views but which accesses the Users model? Sorry if this is a simple question, but I've had a hard time finding how to do this.

    I'm creating a Windows Phone 7 app and learning Silverlight in the process. I have a youtube video url and I'd like the user to be able to click a video thumbnail in my list and go to a youtube app to view the video (similar to iPhone). Is this possible? If so, can you share some code to send the user to the video? I already have a MouseLeftButtonUp event handler.

  • iPhone to host server to mySQL and back?

    Can someone please direct me to process for doing this? I have already done the Login verification exercise using mySQL for the dbase on my host server (thanks to kiksy). Now I am trying to move forward and "Query" from the iPhone a list of "users" that currently occupy the table (iphoneusers) in MySQL. And of course get it back to the iPhone via the php connection.     I converted all mysql tables to utf-8_unicode and started using mysql_set_charset('utf8'); function. But after this, some characters like S, Ö started looking like Ö , Åž How can i replace this kinda letters in mysql with UTF-8 format ? shortly, can i find a list of all these kinda characters to replace ? Is there any way (without removing and re-adding) that I could effectively re-index the values; so change the object at index 1 to now be at index 10 for example?   • Simple pathfinding?

    Does anyone know if there is a simple way to do pathfinding in PHP? I basically have a list of numbers (kinda like {origin:11485,outboundDirections:"11486,11487,11488"} and {origin:11487,outboundDirections:"11485,11676,94185"} and getting from 11485 to 94185 would result in 11485>11487>94185 with ways to "exixt", and I'm trying to figure out how to do this (it doesn't really have to be shortest path or anything AI-like, just a way to get from A to B) I have no idea where to start at all, unfortunately
