  • "Class ref in pre-verified class resolved to unexpected implementation" when running android tests i

    I have a module that builds an app called MyApp. I have another that builds some testcases for that app, called MyAppTests. They both build their own APKs, and they both work fine from within my IDE. I'd like to build them using ant so that I can take advantage of continuous integration. Building the app module works fine. I'm having difficulty getting the Test module to compile and run. Using Christopher's tip from a previous question, I used android create test-project -p MyAppTests -m ../MyApp -n MyAppTests to create the necessary build files to build and run my test project. This seems to work great (once I remove an unnecessary test case that it constructed for me and revert my AndroidManifest.xml to the one I was using before it got replaced by android create), but I have two problems. I'm not sure it's the right thing to do, but I copied the missing libraries (roboguice and gson) from the MyApp/libs directory to the MyAppTests/libs directory and everything seems to compile fine. But that leads to the second problem, which I'm currently stuck on.   • Reading input from a text file, omits the first and adds a nonsense value to the end?

    Hi there When I input locations from a txt file I am getting a peculiar error where it seems to miss off the first entry, yet add a garbage entry to the end of the link list (it is designed to take the name, latitude and longitude for each location you will notice). I imagine this to be an issue with where it starts collecting the inputs and where it stops but I cant find the error!! It reads the first line correctly but then skips to the next before adding it because during testing for the bug it had no record of the first location Lisbon though whilst stepping into the method call it was reading it. Very bizarre but hopefully someone knows the issue.   • ADODB DB2 DSN using IBMDADB2 provider

    I have a very bizarre issue with trying to establish a working connection to an IBM DB2 server from Classic ASP using ADODB. On my development server I am running IIS and have a local instance of DB2 running. When I create a system DSN on this server and try to connect to it with ADODB, I have to specify Provider=IBMDADB2; in my connection along with the DSN name - failure to include the provider and my connection won't work. On my production server(s), I have one running IIS and a second system running an instance of DB2. When I create a system DSN on the production IIS server and try to connect to it with ADODB, I cannot specify the provider, otherwise it throws an uncatchable error in an external module (I assume it's referring to the DB2 module) if I try to do anything past get a connection (oddly, opening the connection itself doesn't throw an error - but if I run a query it does). If I remove the Provider=IBMDADB2; from the connection string (thus I just have DSN=some_name), it works fine. On both systems I can verify through the ODBC connection manager that the DSN's work and can connect to the databases, and on both systems I have made sure to set the correct (only) instance of DB2 as the default. Can anyone tell me why I have to have different connection strings for the development and production servers? I would like to be able to use the same connection string for both environments if at all possible. If that means either specifying a provider for both, or for neither I don't care which - I would just like to know what's going on and how to fix it.

    I'm trying to set up Jenkins in Tomcat7 on Ubuntu. I installed Tomcat7 and deployed jenkins.war, and I now see the Jenkins home page at http://myhost:8080/jenkins, but it's attempting to create the Jenkins directory at /usr/share/tomcat7/.jenkins, which it can't for security reasons. I've already created /srv/jenkins and given the tomcat7 group permissions, and want to set JENKINS_HOME to that path. I've tried adding it to the tomcat configuration in /etc/tomcat7/server.xml: <GlobalNamingResources> <Environment name="JENKINS_HOME" value="/srv/jenkins" type="java.lang.String" override="false"/> <!-- Default settings --> And I've also tried adding it to the automatically created context file in ROOT/META-INF/context.xml (there is no $CATALINA_HOME/conf as far as I can tell). <Context path="/" antiResourceLocking="false" > <Environment name="JENKINS_HOME" value="/srv/jenkins/" type="java.lang.String"/> </Context> But even after restarting tomcat7 I still get the same result (trying to use /usr/share/tomcat7/.jenkins).     Every time one plugs in the same usb wireless adapter in a new usb port, Windows creates new network device with auto-generated sequence number which looks like this Wireless-N USB Network Adapter #2, Wireless-N USB Network Adapter #3, ... The name of a device is being displayed as part of network's information in Control Panel|Network Connections. How can I get rid of this sequence number? I found out device name which is displayed in network's information is kept in the FriendlyName REG_SZ value under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\USB\VID_[device specific string]\[usb port specific string] However when I try to modify this value I get error Cannot edit FriendlyName: Error writing the value's new contents. I tried to delete extra keys under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\USB\VID_13B1&PID_0029 but got Cannot delete KEY NAME: Error while deleting key. error. Trying to solve this problem I followed this answer but trying to change owner with Replace owner on subcontainers and objects option checked I got this error - Registry Editor could not set owner on the currently selected, or some of its subkeys. To find out which subkey is the source of problem I tried changing owner of each subkey. After successfully changing owner of Properites subkey I saw it has subkeys which were previously hidden. Now trying to change owner of these subkeys looks like this: Any idea how to delete these keys?

  • What is Apache Synapse?

    My website keeps getting hit by odd requests with the following user-agent string: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; Synapse) Using our friendly tool Google I was able to determine this is the hallmark calling-card of our friendly neighborhood Apache Synapse. A 'Lightweight ESB (Enterprise Service Bus)'. Now, based on this information I was able to gather, I still have no clue what this tool is used for. All I can tell is that is has something to do with Web-Services, and supports a variety of protocols. The Info page only leads me to conclude it has something to do with proxies, and web-services. The problem I've run into is that while normally I wouldn't care, we're getting hit quite a bit by Russian IPs (not that russian's are bad, but our site is pretty regionally specific), and when they do they're shoving wierd (not xss/malicious at least not yet) values into our query string parameters. Things like &PageNum=-1 or &Brand=25/5/2010 9:04:52 PM. Before I go ahead and block these ips/useragent from our site, I'd like some help understanding just what is going on. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

    I’m not able to find any text strings starting not from the beginning of word in filename or in file content using Windows 7 search. My Windows 7 search configuration: Let’s say I’m searching for a documents containing word “content”. I’m able to find those documents when searching for “content”, “conte”, “con” (as long as the string includes the beginning of the word). "content" "con" But if I search for “ontent”, “tent” or any other combination that doesn’t include the beginning of the word, Windows search won't find it. I've tried other indexing/searching software such as Copernic Desktop search, Google desktop search. Those programs also weren’t able to find part of the word starting from the middle of the word. For instance, it finds “conte”, but doesn’t find “onte”. Finds “conte” Doesn’t find “onte” I got the same problem using Copernic desktop search. On the other hand, when I use non-indexing content search software such as Agent Ransack or FileSeek, I get the same results when searching for “conte” or “onte”: “conte” “onte” Why do all pre-indexing content search applications (Windows search, Google desktop, Copernic desktop search) fail to search for a string inside the words? Why do non-indexing applications find text strings wherever they are: in the beginning, middle or end of the word? I’ve tried wildcards and other constructions with no luck. *onte onte “onte” content:onte content:onte content:~onte All these searched doesn’t find the word “content”. How can I make Windows search find strings from any part of words? Could you try these searches and see if they work for you? Or is this normal behavior? Thank you.   • Change DPI setting in Windows 8.1 for the Logon Screen

    How can the DPI setting be changed for the Logon Screen in Windows 8.1? Microsoft has added per-user DPI settings. But this means that there is no adjustable DPI setting for the Lock/Logon screen. You can change the DPI setting to be the same across all displays and this does affect the icons and font on the lock/logon screen. However, it does not affect any app/program that can run on the lock/logon screen. Ex. I use a 44" flat screen TV for my monitor on my desktop. Big enough for me to sit in my recliner and use my computer. I use the on-screen keyboard most of the time. (I don't want to keep a keyboard next to me.) The problem is that with the new DPI setup the on-screen keyboard takes up nearly half the screen, which is too big. I tried looking through the registry to see if I could find a setting for it. In the key HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop there is a string value named LogicalDPIOverride with a value of -1. I have a feeling this is where I can fix the issue. I tried changing the value to 0 and to 1 with no change in the result. Instead I noticed that after logging out and back in the -1 value was back in the registry. How can I change this default DPI? Can I use the LogPixels string that worked for DPI in Windows 7? Here are two Screen shots, one of the Lock Screen and one of the Logon Screen:

  • How can I find out which processes on my computer are accessing the microphone?

    After reading this interesting Lifehacker post and reading the comments on the page, one person was wondering if it would be possible to use the Physical Device Object Names of other hardware such as the microphone to find out the names of processes using that device. I tried the same approach, but so far it only seems to work for the webcam. Is there any other way I could get this to work in Process Explorer? UPDATE: The Lifehacker post was about finding out which Windows process is currently using your webcam. This is how they went about doing it: Start Device Manager (WIN+R → "devmgmt.msc" → OK) Find your webcam among the list of devices (check under Imaging Devices) Open the properties window of the device and switch to the Details tab (Right click → Properties → Details) In the dropdown menu, select Physical Device Object Name and copy the string(Right click → Copy) Download Process Explorer Make sure you have opened Process Explorer in Administrator Mode(File → Show Details for All Processes) Hit CTRL+F and enter the string you copied earlier(it should be something like \Device\000000XX) Hit the Search button and you should see a list of processes using the webcam(if there are any)

  • Connect over WiFi to SQL Server from another computer

    I tried to connect over WiFi to SQL Server with SQL Server Management Studio from another computer, but it failed. I have a computer with Windows 7 & SQL Server 2008 (lets say the server computer). Next to it I have a freshly installed computer with Windows 7 & SQL Server Management Studio (let's say the client computer). What I did on the server computer: Configure firewall by enabling port 1433 Enabled network protocols (TCP/IP) inside SQL Server Configuration Manager Checked Allow remote connections to this server in server properties in the SQL Server Management application. Started SQL Server Browser Restarted services (SQL Server Browser is stopped at this point, but I don't think it is necessary. Is it?) Next, I successfully tested a ping on the port 1433 from my client computer with a tool named tcping (ex: tcping 192.168.1.4 1433). But I still cannot connect from my client computer to SQL Server on my server computer. Ok, something new with this problem: Until now, I successfully connected to my "server computer" with Management Studio. What I did is type the computer name in the server name field in the connection window of Management Studio. My previous (failed) attempt was to type the computer name followed by the instance of SQL server (ex: COMPUTER_NAME\SQL2008). I don't know why I only have to type the computer name. Now my new challenge is to be successful in connecting my VB6 application to this remote database located on my "server computer". I have a connection string for this but it failed to connect. Here is my connection string: "Provider=SQLOLEDB.1;Password=mypassword;User ID=sa;Initial Catalog=TPB;Data Source=THIERRY-HP\SQL2008" Any idea what's going wrong?

  • How do I create a VBA macro that will copy data from an entry sheet, into a summary sheet by date

    I'm trying to create a macro that will copy data from a data entry sheet into a summary sheet. The entry sheet is going to be cleared daily so I can't use a formula just to reference it. I want the user to be able to enter a date, run a macro, and have the macro copy the data from the entry sheet into the cells for the corresponding date on the summary sheet. I've looked around and found bits and pieces of how to do this but I can't put it all together. Update: Thanks to the information below I was able to find some additional data. I have a pretty crude macro that works if the user manually selects the correct cell. Now I just need to figure out how to automatically select the current cell relative to the current date.   • Where is the TFS database?

    I've been using TFS 2010 with no problems. I tried adding a user and I got the following error message. "TF30063: You are not authorized to access <serverName>\DefaultCollection. -The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized." I remoted into the server, <serverName>, and opened the TFS Console. The logs mentioned a connection string: ConnectionString: Data Source=<serverName>\SS2008;Initial Catalog=Tfs_DefaultCollection;Integrated Security=True While remoted in I open SQL Server 2008 Management Studio opening the (local) server with Windows Authentication. It shows the connection to be (local)(SQL Server 9.04.03 - <serverName>\Admin), and there is no Tfs_DefaultCollection database. Can someone tell me what is going on? Was I wrong in connecting to this instance of the database (i.e. Is the log file the wrong place to find the connection string)? Is the database so corrupted that SQL Manager Studio cannot see it anymore, although TFS could? Should I be logging into Management Studio as user SS2008? btw I don't know of any such credentials.

  • Apache2 - rewrite a bunch of specified pathname URLs to one URL

    I need to rewrite a bunch of urls (about 100 or so) for SEO purposes, and there may be more being added in the future (probably another 50-100 later on). I need a flexible way of doing this and so far, the only way I can think of is to edit the .htaccess file using the rewrite engine. For example, I have a bunch of urls like this (please note that the query string is irrelevant, and dynamic; it could be anything. I was only using them purely as an example. I am only focusing on the pathname--the part between the hostname and query string, as marked in bold below): http://example.com/seo_term1?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=seo_term http://example.com/another_seo_term2?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=seo_term http://example.com/yet_another_seo_term3?utm_source=example_ad_network&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=seo_term http://example.com/foobar_seo_term4 http://example.com/blah_seo_term5?test=1 etc... And they are all being rewritten to (for now): http://example.com/ What's the most efficient/effective way of doing this so that I may be able to add more terms in the future? One solution I came across is to do this (in the .htaccess file): RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.*)$ / [NC,QSA] However, the problem with this solution is that even invalid urls (such as http://example.com/blah) will be rewritten to http://example.com instead of giving a 404 code (which is what it is supposed to do anyway). I'm still trying to figure out how all this works, and the only way I can think of is to write 100 more RewriteCond statements (such as: RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} =/seo_term1 [NC,OR]) before the RewriteRule directive.
