  • Tasklist replacement for Visual Studio

    I would like to use the task-list in Visual Studio but it really lacks almost any useful feature a task-list should provide. So I use Todo-List externally, to keep track of the things I need to get done. Would be nice to have it all in one place. So does anyone know of a cool replacement Add-On for the tasklist in Visual Studio? Thanks in advance!

  • Strange behavior of DDD debugger in Ubuntu

    I installed DDD debugger in Ubuntu and trying to work with it. It looks like DDD UI doesn't work properly with Ubuntu desktop environment. Edit boxes are almost unusable: sometimes they accept keyboard input, most of times input is ignored. Internal resizing panes are not working. Is there some way to get DDD UI working properly? The same behavior is in Ubuntu 9.10 32 bit, and 10.4 64 bit, so this is not Ubuntu version issue.

    Hi, what tools do you use to create programming flowchart/documentation from VB.NET source code? There are absolutely no comments/documentation at present. I am a beginner, i.e. I tried Sandcastle but it is way over my head and could not get it going, not even with GUI. Fatesoft's CodeVisual To Flowchart is OK but it is almost the same as the code and I still don't understand the code.

What is a good way to test it for highloads so that I could have some statistics about how much resources 1000 average users per some period of time would take.   • Eclipse: Should I create a workspace for each project ?

    I am simply wondering whether it is best to put all of my Eclipse projects into one workspace, or do a 1 workspace per 1 project. I am just a solo developer, for hobby more or less, but the apps I create do actually have production versions that are running on rather frequent cron jobs, so its almost like an amateur production environment. The only problems I have noticed so far is for exporting JARs, I have the potential to include source files from other projects which seems like it could get messy (maybe?).

  • Need a good way to store data in a DB from a table on a webpage that can have N columns.

    Users need to be able to add a specific type of column to an otherwise static table on my web page and then save the information they enter in there to the database. I've been told that in reality they will almost never go over 5 columns but I would rather support N. The columns will all be of the same datatype. My first thought was to have an XML column with the values from all added columns in there but I was curious if anyone else had come up with a better solution. Suggestions?

    I am looking for a small linux tool that would be able to extract text from odt file. It just needs to be human-readable and it can have problems with complicated objects etc. It's almost a duplicate of this question but I need it to be small and have no dependencies on OpenOffice or X server I remember having a 1MB MS-DOS program that could render .doc files quite readibly (with some weird markup getting through from time to time), so i expect it to be possible in the linux world too ;)

  • How to configure bugzilla to not advance to next bug when updating?

    By default, when you apply changes to a Bugzilla entry, the web interface advances to the next bug in your list. I would like to disable this feature since it is almost never what I desire, planning to make further updates later. Further, I often update the wrong bug subsequently due to its changing the current bug without my noticing. How do I configure Bugzilla to not advance like this?

    I have heard of WINE but I don't like it because it's slow on the computers I have tested and almost always crashes. It also has some unpleasant looking gui. I am wondering if there is a "win32" library in c/c++ for linux that produces native linux code so that if I have my source code for windows, I can just recompile and produce a working linux application. Is this possible?

  • NHibernate requires events to be virtual?

    I'm attempting to map an entity hierarchy using NHibernate almost all of which have events. When attempting to build a session factory however, I get error messages similar to the following: Core.Domain.Entities.Delivery: method remove_Scheduled should be virtual Delivery is an entity in my domain model with an event called Scheduled. Since events cannot be declared virtual I'm at a loss as to how to proceed here. Why would NHibernate need events to be virtual?

    I'm experimenting with application cache based on this example: http://html5demos.com/html5demo.manifest This example works fine in ff, but when I create analogous site (almost identical) I get only status "UNCACHED (numeric value 0) -- The ApplicationCache object's cache host is not associated with an application cache at this time." I work on xampp and I've set correct mime-type. When the page is loading ff "is asking to store data on your computer for offline use" and when I show Tools - Options - Advanced - Network - Offline data there is localhost but with 0B size.

  • Remote Postgresql - extremely slow

    Hi, I have setup PostgreSQL on a VPS I own - the software that accesses the database is a program called PokerTracker. PokerTracker logs all your hands and statistics whilst playing online poker. I wanted this accessible from several different computers so decided to installed it on my VPS and after a few hiccups I managed to get it connecting without errors. However, the performance is dreadful. I have done tons of research on 'remote postgresql slow' etc and am yet to find an answer so am hoping someone is able to help. Things to note: The query I am trying to execute is very small. Whilst connecting locally on the VPS, the query runs instantly. While running it remotely, it takes about 1 minute and 30 seconds to run the query. The VPS is running 100MBPS and then computer I'm connecting to it from is on an 8MB line. The network communication between the two is almost instant, I am able to remotely connect fine with no lag whatsoever and am hosting several websites running MSSQL and all the queries run instantly, whether connected remotely or locally so it seems specific to PostgreSQL. I'm running their newest version of the software and the newest compatible version of PostgreSQL with their software. The database is a new database, containing hardly any data and I've ran vacuum/analyze etc all to no avail, I see no improvements. I don't understand how MSSQL can query almost instantly yet PostgreSQL struggles so much. I am able to telnet to the post 5432 on the VPS IP with no problems, and as I say the query does execute it just takes an extremely long time. What I do notice is on the router when the query is running that hardly any bandwidth is being used - but then again I wouldn't expect it to for a simple query but am not sure if this is the issue. I've tried connecting remotely on 3 different networks now (including different routers) but the problem remains. Connecting remotely via another machine via the LAN is instant. I have also edited the postgre conf file to allow for more memory/buffers etc but I don't think this is the problem - what I am asking it to do is very simple - it shouldn't be intensive at all.   • Many tooltips after upgrade to Eclipse 3.5

    I've upgraded to Eclipse 3.5 and now tooltips are displayed for everything - for any field, for any method, for anything. The worst thing is that they are displaying immediately after i've moved the mouse (no delay!) So almost always I do see some tooltip, this is very inconvenient. How can I either increase the delay or disable tooltips?
