  • Customized command line parsing in Python

    - by Moshe
I'm writing a shell for a project of mine, which by design parses commands that looks like this: COMMAND_NAME ARG1="Long Value" ARG2=123 [email protected] My problem is that Python's command line parsing libraries (getopt and optparse) forces me to use '-' or '--' in front of the arguments. This behavior doesn't match my requirements. Any ideas how can this be solved? Any existing library for this?

  • Future of Linq to Sql and Entity Framework

    - by ENES TAYLAN
I work on a project and want to use an ORM. What should I use: Linq to Sql or Entity Framework? Linq to Sql provides more opportunities, as I see, for example support for enumeration types. However, also it is said that, Linq to Sql was for playing and learning for Linq and future strategy of Microsoft lies on Entity Framework. So which one should I use?

  • What happens to an ad hoc installed iPhone/iPad app when a new iTunes profile is synced against?

    - by user363100
I'm currently involved in a project where a number of iPads loaded with a special app are given away to a number of people at a certain event. Both because of time constraints as well as our desire to give these people a really exclusive app, we decided to prepare these devices using ad hoc installs of the app. What will happen to the app when the recipients of the device decide to sync it with their existing iTunes account instead one of our "recipient x" accounts?

  • Where is Visual Studio 2005 Express at?

    - by Spoike
I'm working on a project that requires Visual Studio 2005 and I've been trying to find a legitimate download site for Visual Studio 2005 Express, but it seems like Microsoft only wants people to download the 2008 version instead. Anyone knows why it's like this and if there is some link somewhere where Visual Studio 2005 Express is available?

  • After installing .net 3.5 SP1, get missing DLL error

    - by chris
I just installed a number of updates to my machine, and am now encountering the following error when I run an asp.net MVC application on my local machine: Compiler Error Message: CS0006: Metadata file 'C:\WINNT\assembly\GAC_32\System.EnterpriseServices\2.0.0.0__b03f5f7f11d50a3a\System.EnterpriseServices.dll' could not be found I have removed the reference to this from the project (not really sure why it was there in the first place) but still get the error. Any idea on how to resolve this?

  • Help setting focus on the parent

    - by serhio
I have a simple situation (.NET2): a texbox1 on a UserControl1(or Form1). I want to unfocus(leave) the texbox when I click on the usercontrol/form(focus the usercontrol/form instead): I do the following on the UC/form: Protected Overrides Sub OnMouseClick _ (ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.MouseEventArgs) MyBase.OnMouseClick(e) Me.Focus() End Sub Why does it not work on the child textbox, but works very well on the non-child one(focus on textBox2 then click on the panel removes the focus from the textBox2)? • Base SDK Missing? No, I fixed that. Still?!

    - by Moshe
XCode 3.2.3 Beta does not allow building for below 3.2. I opened a project that was made in an earlier XCode. For some reason, the base SDK is reported as missing even after changing it to 4.0. Other projects from earlier XCode do not have this issue. What can I do?

    - by rubentjeuh
First I create a setup from a project, and I install it. When the program reads and writes from app.config, I get an UnauthorizedAccessException. This works perfect in visual studio, but with creating a setup and installing it, it always crashes at this point. Someone who knows how to solve this? Thanks

  • How do I tell GWT to not compile a permutation for gears

    - by Clinton Bosch
I have included gwt-html5-geolocation into my GWT project and was disappointed to find that it doubled up on my number of permutations compiled. Apparently if the browser does not support geolocation API then it falls back to use gears to find out your location. Is there a way to NOT compile a permutation for gears similar to the way you can tell GWT to only compile certain browser permutations? (the geolocation stuff is very much a nice-to-have and frankly if the client is running an old browser then I am happy not to get their location) Thanks

RadRails has a "Switch to Test" function for my controller, model, etc. but not for my library. if I have class Foo::Bar in /lib/foo/bar.rb, where should I put the unittest for it? or should I separate the foo library in a separated project? Thanks.

  • Restore file's modification time in git

    - by rampion
I understand the default git behaviour of updating the modification time every time it changes a file, but there are times when I want to restore a file's original modification time. Is there a way I can tell git to do this? (As an example, when working on a large project, I made some changes to configure.ac, found out that autotools doesn't work on my system, and wanted to restore configure.ac's to its original contents and modification time so that make doesn't try to update configure with my broken autotools).

  • Is there a free version control server provider for non-public projects?

    - by ttobiass
I'd like to have a version control server (preferably SVN) accessible on the internet without having to host my own (linux) server. Setting up a home server ala DynDNS is not really an option. Can you have non-public (maybe single-user) projects on one of the OSS project hosting sites? Or are there alternatives? I had a look at Google Code. But that looked very public to me. Any help would be greatly appreciated :-)

  • Eclipse: find resource on classpath

    - by seanizer
Is there a way in eclipse to search the classpath for arbitrary resource file names (or patterns)? I know I can use either Navigate > Open Type (which will scan the classpath for classes) or Navigate > Open Resource, which will search for any resource type, but only in my project folders. Is there any way to achieve a combination ob both, to do a resource search (something like *.xsd) that searches all jars on the classpath?

  • Which framework should I choose - Seam, Wicket, JSF or GWT?

    - by karl
I'm debating whether to use Seam, Wicket, JSF or GWT as the foundation for my presentation layer in a Java project. I narrowed my selection of Java web frameworks down to this subset based on job market considerations, newness of the technology and recommendations from other S.O. users. What factors should I take into consideration in deciding among these?
