    There are a lot of solutions out there on generating a thumbnail or an image preview of a webpage. Some of these are websites like websnapshots, windows libraries such as PHP's imagegrabscreen (only works on windows), and KDE's wkhtml. Many more do exist. However, I'm looking for a GUI-less solution. Something I can create an API around and link it to php or python. I'm comfortable with python, php, C, and shell. This is a personal project, so I'm not interested in commercial applications as I'm aware of their existence. Any ideas?

    i have this controller(visits.php) that use 3 models to build page, then it pass 4 vars to a view. this view contain a form that submit to another page (add_user.php) my question is how can i send the user back to visits.php in case the for_validation is false ? do i have to reload visits.php allover again ?-waste of resourss- or i should just send him back in history with js or php header for example ? can u plz show me an example of how u best handle false result of form_validation ?   • Can't seem to get Prototype AJAX form validation to work in conjunction with Codeigniter

    Is there some kind of trick involved? Here's how I would envision it working: 1) User tries submitting the form 2) Event.observe captures this and sends an AJAX request to a special validation URL (PHP using Codeigniter) 3) If no errors were returned, continue submitting the original form 4) If errors were found, cancel form submission and display Mostly, I can't seem to get a separate AJAX validation request to work as the form continues submitting. I could use Event.stop(event), but have not found a way to re-start the process if no validation errors exist from the validation call. I'd post code, but I have about 15 examples of things I've tried and it would just clutter this question. Any ideas? :-( I didn't think form validation would be this difficult. Many thanks, - Matt

On other pages I just want the good old fashioned form. Do I still need to change the weight? I know I am missing something elementary.

Nothing returns unless I turn login_button into a link and change the script a bit... Any help would be appreciated!

This behavior disappears, if I comment out the form tags ...unfortunately the form tags are required for an AJAX-submit. Are there any ways to avoid this problem?     I am not sure where I'm going wrong. The idea is that before the form is submitted, one of the input fields is sent to a server-side validator via ajax. If the response is 1, the input is valid and the form should be submitted. If the response is 0, the form should not be submitted. The issue is that I can't figure out how to set a variable within the ajax request function that will prevent the form from being submitted.     I have a classifieds website, and on the page where ads are showed, I am creating a "Send a tip to a friend" form... So anybody who wants can send a tip of the ad to some friends email-adress. In my development environment, I use a virtual-host for each project. The virtual-host for a project is configured during the "deploytodevelopment" ANT task. Which method would you recommend for integrating PHP into my build process? Change the virtual-hosts setup to point to the workspace/myproject/src folder.   • Installing multiple php versions plus extensions on freebsd

    I'm a currently learning how to work with freebsd. Lately I have been trying to run multiple php versions along with their respective packages. However, I seem to be running into issues while making installations. The default location for my php installation is /usr/local/etc/, however I want to be able to install php5.2, php5.3 and php5.4 in /usr/local/etc/php52, /usr/local/etc/php53 and /usr/local/etc/php54 respectively. Using ports I simply achieved this by doing cd /usr/ports/lang/php5x && make PREFIX="/usr/local/etc/php5x" install clean. The problem now is: How do I do the same for extensions of all my PHP versions? When I try installing php-extensions like so: cd /usr/ports/lang/php5x-extension && make PREFIX="/usr/local/etc/php5x/lib/php" install clean, I get this error ... ===> PHPizing for php53-bcmath-5.3.17 env: /usr/local/bin/phpize: No such file or directory *** Error code 127 Stop in /usr/ports/math/php53-bcmath. *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/lang/php53-extensions. My PHPize is located in /usr/local/etc/php5x/bin/phpize So how do I get make or whatever to look for phpize in the right path? Is there a cleaner, may be simpler way of maintaining multiple php installations? I need to achieve this because of compatibility issues from some legacy code that runs on 5.2 and breaks on 5.3.     Please bear with me; I'm a developer, not a server admin. My company wants to explore using Magento. They've handed me a pre-configured Linux server with apache and PHP installed, but when I try to run the Magento setup, it tells me that there are PHP extensions that need to be loaded. I can edit the php.ini file, but have no idea where to get the extensions or how to install them, and there's no one here who knows, either. Can anyone give me a hand? I need the PDO_MySQL, mcrypt, and GD extensions. I've searched and found sites that talk about downloading from the terminal and compiling code, but it's all way over my head. Is there an easy way to do this?

I went to php.ini and i uncomented the line extension=php_openssl.dll I also installed Win32 OpenSSL. But nothing works. What sould i do?

    I have been trying a lot (but not smartly) to figure out setting up VIM, ctags, omnicomple for PHP development. On Googling I found this file. But have no clue how to use it. What have I done until now? Here it is: I am on Fedora 17 64-bit OS Logged in as root Found my VIM version to be VIM - Vi IMproved 7.3 (2010 Aug 15, compiled May 8 2012 15:05:51) Followed the install details as here http://www.vim.org/scripts/script.php?script_id=3171 install details Place in $HOME/.vim/autoload/phpcomplete.vim and enable the php ftplugin What else I am missing? How do I start using omnicomplete. (this is the first time I am using omnicomplete) Why didn't I try IDE's? I have a single core machine running LAMP stack. Didn't wanted to slow down everything and hence sticking to command line environment.
