  • Would Python make a good substitute for the Windows command-line/batch scripts?

    I've got some experience with Bash, which I don't mind, but now that I'm doing a lot of Windows development I'm needing to do basic stuff/write basic scripts using the Windows command-line language. For some reason said language really irritates me, so I was considering learning Python and using that instead. Is Python suitable for such things? Moving files around, creating scripts to do things like unzipping a backup and restoring a SQL database, etc.

    I'm new in iOS development and i need simple example (project) with explained two-entity coreData with to-many relationship between A and B entities on iOS6 with storyboard interface and ARC. In storyboard should be two UITableView controllers which present entities A and B and two UIViewControllers which present adding string data from text fields I searched in many books, sites, video lessons like "lynda.com", but i still not understand how and where i should implement two-entity coredata with one to-many relationship in code. Whenever I do this, it seems to slow down the network and other users complain that browsing websites and accessing files on the dev server is slow.   • Mercurial: include revisions in diff?

    Is there some way to ask Mercurial to show the revisions being diffed in the output? For example: $ hg diff -r trunk:development diff -r 08d51ecf22cf:ff5673e55b9f --git a/foo.c b/foo.c ... Or something similar? I've found that there have been a few times that I've taken a diff (eg, to review), but have later been unable to recreate it because I've forgotten which revisions it was taken against.

    Hi to all, I installed IDE NetBeans for C/C++ development. I created C project with main.c and makefile generated netbeans. When i add test.h file in my project and try to compile it, i see that netbeans does not see this header file, and that I would not write it, even if there are errors anyway compilation is successful. "user" table is suppose to have a 1.1 relationship with "userprofile" table however the actual design the "user" table has a 1.* relationship with "userprofile" table. Everything works! but should it be fixed anyways?

  • Git push from post-receive

    I have two servers, let's call them first and second. First one is where the real development is done, and second one should be the replica. What I would like to do is put "git push" in post-receive, but there is one problem. Post-receive is executed as the user doing git push to first server, so I can't chmod 600 ssh key with no pass. What is the best practice for this? Thanx!

    I still have one semester to finish my MS in Computer Science, and I am already working for a software development company. I took some accounting courses as electives (accounting 1-2 and finance) and I found them interesting and easy. Is it worth it to do CFA?
