  • Passing URL as parameter using mod_rewrite

    I would like to rewrite dynamic URL /index.php?pid=login&redirect=/previous-page.html to something like this /login.html-r-previous-page.html I tried this RewriteRule ^login.html-r-(.*)$ /index.php?pid=login&redirect=$1 [L] But no succes. I was also trying to change the regex to .+ or some other forms, but it seems useless. Maybe I am making mistake somewhere else. I am new to regular expressions and also mod_rewrite.   • port binding "problem" with Eclipse, Java, & Windows

    Hi All, I use eclipse to develop a web based java application. My normal course of business is grab the next task tracking ticket. If there is a problem that needs to correcting, I run the application locally, which loads of a Jetty webserver, and binds to port 8080. After verifying the problem, I fix the problem, rebuild, and the re-run the application. The problem is, I far too often forget to close the jetty server before re-running. This generates the Java bind error: WARNING: failed [email protected]:8080: java.net.BindException: Address already in use: JVM_Bind I work in Windows, and was looking to see if there is command I could run to un-bind the port, but couldn't find an answer there. Does anyone here have a good idea of how to fix my problem, other than remember to shut down the old jetty instance before starting a new one? Thanks, Jay

    I have some problems with ASP.NET MVC’s default model binder. The View contains HTML like this: <input name="SubDTO[0].Id" value="1" type="checkbox"> <input name="SubDTO[1].Id" value="2" type="checkbox"> This is my simplified ‘model’: public class SubDTO { public virtual string Id { get; set; } } public class DTO { public List<SubDTO> SubDTOs { get; set; } public DTO() { SubDTOs = new List< SubDTO>(); } } All this works fine if the user selects at least the first checkbox (SubDTO[0].Id). The controller ‘receives’ a nicely initialised/bound DTO. However, if the first check box is not selected but only, for example, SubDTO[1].Id the object SubDTOs is null. Can someone please explain this ‘strange’ behaviour and how to overcome it? Thanks. Best wishes, Christian

And business entity assigned to each. What's the best solution to automate this process? I need to: Have layout stored in DB (in XML). Layout must support several columns, tabbed interface Automatically bind business object values to the form Automatically read form values and write to business object Must support automatic validation Some basic workflows support would be good I used to work with TFS and saw how they implemented WorkItem templates (.wit files).   • WPF: Binding an integer to a TextBlock with TemplateBinding

    I have a custom control in WPF. In this I have a DependencyProperty of the type integer. In the template for the custom control I have a TextBlock, I and would like to show the value of the integer in the TextBlock. But I can't get it to work. I'm using TemplateBinding. If I use the same code but change the type of the DependencyProperty to string it works fine. But I really want it to be an integer for the rest of my application to work. How can I do this? I've written simplified code that shows the problem.     Hi, I wrote some C++ code in which I used Templates. Since I used templates, I could not initialize a couple of template class variables. I got an warning message from valgrind saying Conditional jump or move depends on uninitialized value(s). So is there a way to get around this and/or initialize template variables?? I couldn't think of a way to do it because even if I initailize them as NULL, when I use string data type a run time failure occurres. Thank You!

  • Reading Values Returned by SQLDataSource Before Binding to FormView

    I have a FormView that shows posts by users. I'd like to add Edit and Delete commands to the post to let the original author edit or delete their post. I'd like these commands to be available to only the author. The FormView is populated by a SqlDataSource that uses a stored procedure. I was thinking I would set the Edit and Delete hyperlink to Visible=False, then compare the currently signed in user guid to the guid of the post's author, and make the hyperlinks visible if the two guids are the same. I've tried using the Selected event of the SqlDataSource to capture the guid (which is returned by the stored procedure) however I can't find way to get the values returned by this datasource. How do I access the values returned by a SqlDataSource before they get databound?

    Here's the scenario: Many users access an application (running on tomcat), the user's data is segmented into multiple databases, say each db containing 1000 user's data. Now is it somehow possible to have 100s of tomcat servers running on 'inexpensive' PC class machines with each connecting to a single db, with user's session getting passed to appropriate tomcat and becoming 'Sticky' there. Can have some sort of 'gateway' deciding which user goes where and doing the load-balancing appropriately. Would make a great scalability solution :)

    How is it possible to change the displayed order of columns from a DataTable? For example, dataTable "dt" contains two columns "a" and "b". I bind it to a GridView like this: gridView.DataSource = dt; gridView.DataBind(); But I'd like the GridView to display "b" first (leftmost).   • MySql "comments" parameter as descriptor?

    So, I'm trying to learn a lot at once, and this place is really helpful! I'm making a little running log website for myself and maybe a few other people, and I have it so that the user can add workouts for each day. With each workout, I have a variety of information the user can fill out for the workout, such as running distance, time, quality of run, course, etc... I store this in a MySql database as a table with fields titled "distance", "time", "runquality", etc... Now, these field titles don't match up with what I want displayed on the running log, so I was thinking of using the "Comments" attribute for a field to store its human-readable title--thus the field "runquality" would have "Quality of run" as its comment, and then I would pull the comment with a SQL query and display it instead of the field name. Is this a good theoretical/practical way of going about it? And what sort of SQL would I use to pull the comment for the field anyway? Secondly, suppose I want to add the ability for the user to create their own workout descriptors. So say a user wants to add a "temperature" descriptor for their workout. Should I create a script that adds fields to my workout table, or should I create a separate table listing only workout descriptors and somehow link the descriptor table with the "contents" table? I haven't learned any theory about database design or anything so any help is appreciated!

    In my edit.haml file, I have =render :partial => 'old_question_tags', :locals => {:current_question => @question.id}. I'd like to pass the value in :current_question to a link_to_remote call in _old_question_tags.haml: #{link_to_remote image_tag('red-x.png', {:alt => "Remove #{t.name} tag"}), :url => {:action => 'remove_old_tag_from_question', :tag_remove => t.id, :current_question => current_question}} But I get this error on the link_to_remote line: ActionView::TemplateError (undefined local variable or method `current_question' for #<ActionView::Base:0xdb2fec8>) In _old_question_tags.haml, if I just print current_question (using =current_question), it prints the number without any problems. How do I properly pass that value to the partial so that I can pass it to the link_to_remote call?

    Hi, Is there a way to bind the hudson successful build's number in the C# WPF application? Meaning, on running the exe after building I want to show the build number say 10 in my application somewhere. In project configuration file, I have used ${BUILD_NUMBER}, that a hudson understands and creates a build with the revision number. If I build the Project revision # 10, I get 10.exe. Can I have something that will show this number somewhere in my application? Hope I am clear. Please help.

(Note it is a GET): public ActionResult MyView(MyDTO dto) { return View(dto) } The problem is that the instance of MyObject is coming back as null, where val1 and val2 have data. Has anyone run across this?

    What is the elegant way to convert JSONObject to URL parameters. For example, JSONObject: {stat: {123456: {x: 1, y: 2}, 123457: {z: 5, y: 2}}}} this should be like: stat[123456][x]=1&stat[123456][y]=2&stat[123457][z]=5&stat[123457][y]=2 of course with escaped symbols, and of course JSON object could be more complicated..
