  • Cant bind data to a table view

    - by sudhakarilla
    Hi, I have retrieved data from Json URL and displayed it in a table view. I have also inlcuced a button in table view. On clicking the button the data must be transferred to a another table view. The problem is that i could send the data to a view and could display it on a label. But i couldnt bind the dat to table view ... Here's some of the code snippets... Buy Button... -(IBAction)Buybutton{ /* UIAlertView *alert =[[UIAlertView alloc]initWithTitle:@"thank u" message:@"products" delegate:nil cancelButtonTitle:@"ok" otherButtonTitles:nil]; [alert show]; [alert release];*/ Product *selectedProduct = [[data products]objectAtIndex:0]; CartViewController *cartviewcontroller = [[[CartViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"CartViewController" bundle:nil]autorelease]; cartviewcontroller.product= selectedProduct; //NSString *productname=[product ProductName]; //[currentproducts setproduct:productname]; [self.view addSubview:cartviewcontroller.view]; } CartView... // Implement viewDidLoad to do additional setup after loading the view, typically from a nib. - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; data = [GlobalData SharedData]; NSMutableArray *prod =[[NSMutableArray alloc]init]; prod = [data products]; for(NSDictionary *product in prod) { Cart *myprod = [[Cart alloc]init]; myprod.Description = [product Description]; myprod.ProductImage =[product ProductImage]; myprod.ProductName = [product ProductName]; myprod.SalePrice = [product SalePrice]; [data.carts addObject:myprod]; [myprod release]; } Cart *cart = [[data carts]objectAtIndex:0]; NSString *productname=[cart ProductName]; self.label.text =productname; NSLog(@"carts"); } (NSInteger)numberOfSectionsInTableView:(UITableView *)tableView { return 1; } (NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger)section { return [data.carts count]; } -(CGFloat)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView heightForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { return 75; } (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { NSLog(@"cellforrow"); static NSString *CellIdentifier = @"Cell"; ProductCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier]; if(cell ==nil) { cell = [[[ProductCell alloc]initWithFrame:CGRectZero reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier]autorelease]; } NSUInteger row = [indexPath row]; Cart *cart = [[data carts]objectAtIndex:row]; cell.productNameLabel.text = [cart ProductName]; /*NSString *sale = [[NSString alloc]initWithFormat:@"SalePrice:%@",[cart SalePrice]]; cell.salePriceLabel.text = sale; cell.DescriptionLabel.text = [cart Description]; NSMutableString imageUrl =[NSMutableString string]; [imageUrl appendFormat:@"http://demo.s2commerce.net/DesktopModules/S2Commerce/Images/Products/%@",[product ProductImage]]; NSLog(@"imageurl:%@",imageUrl); NSString mapURL = [imageUrl stringByReplacingPercentEscapesUsingEncoding:NSASCIIStringEncoding]; NSData* imageData = [[NSData alloc]initWithContentsOfURL:[NSURL URLWithString:mapURL]]; UIImage* image = [[UIImage alloc]initWithData:imageData]; cell.productImageview.image = image; [imageData release]; [image release];*/ return cell; } I am also getting the following error in the console 2010-06-11 18:34:29.169 navigation[4109:207] * -[CartViewController tableView:numberOfRowsInSection:]: message sent to deallocated instance 0xcb4d4f90

  • How to remove the xmlns:XSI and xmlns:XSD namespaces from the xml output of a webservice in .net fra

    - by Chetan
    HI, This is an old question, i have seen some solutions on this forum itself, but am trying to use webservices for the first time so please bear with me on this one. I have a webservice that returns XML in the following format <subs xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" msisdn="965xxxxxx"> <shortcode label="XXXX"> <channels> <channel> <id>442</id> <name>News</name> <billingperiod>7</billingperiod> <billingamount>3</billingamount> <lastbilling>4/14/2010 1:41:11 PM</lastbilling> </channel> <channel> <id>443</id> <name>News2</name> <billingperiod>7</billingperiod> <billingamount>3</billingamount> <lastbilling>4/14/2010 1:41:19 PM</lastbilling> </channel> </channels> </shortcode> </subs> I want the same XMl output without the xmlns:xsd and xmlns:xsi tags. I have tried the following solution that was suggested: Public Function GetSubscription(....) As String Dim namespaces As New XmlSerializerNamespaces namespaces.Add(String.Empty, String.Empty) Dim serializer As New XmlSerializer(SubsDetail.GetType) Dim sw As New System.IO.StringWriter Dim writer As New System.Xml.XmlTextWriter(sw) writer.Formatting = Formatting.None serializer.Serialize(writer, SubsDetail, namespaces) writer.Close() Return sw.toString() The result was that I got an xml in the following format: <string> <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?><subs msisdn="965xxxx"> <shortcode label="XXXX"> <channels> <channel> <id>442</id> <name>News</name> <billingperiod>7</billingperiod> <billingamount>3</billingamount> <lastbilling>4/14/2010 1:41:11 PM</lastbilling> </channel> <channel> <id>443</id> <name>News2</name> <billingperiod>7</billingperiod> <billingamount>3</billingamount> <lastbilling>4/14/2010 1:41:19 PM</lastbilling> </channel> </channels> </shortcode> </subs> </string> Though the format of the xml is correct it is coming as string within the <string> tags. This is really driving me nuts. Can I get the output as xml without the outer string tags?

  • Only root object on request is deserialized when using Message.GetBody<>

    - by user324627
    I am attempting to create a wcf service that accepts any input (Action="*") and then deserialize the message after determining its type. For the purposes of testing deserialization I am currently hard-coding the type for the test service. I get no errors from the deserialization process, but only the outer object is populated after deserialization occurs. All inner fields are null. I can process the same request against the original wcf service successfully. I am deserializing this way, where knownTypes is a type list of expected types: DataContractSerializer ser = new DataContractSerializer(new createEligibilityRuleSet ().GetType(), knownTypes); createEligibilityRuleSet newReq = buf.CreateMessage().GetBody<createEligibilityRuleSet>(ser); Here is the class and sub-classes of the request object. These classes are generated by svcutil using a top down approach from an existing wsdl. I have tried replacing the XmlTypeAttributes with DataContracts and the XmlElements with DataMembers with no difference. It is the instance of CreateEligibilityRuleSetSvcRequest on the createEligibilityRuleSet object that is null. I have included the request retrieved from the request at the bottom /// <remarks/> [System.CodeDom.Compiler.GeneratedCodeAttribute("svcutil", "3.0.4506.2152")] [System.SerializableAttribute()] [System.Diagnostics.DebuggerStepThroughAttribute()] [System.ComponentModel.DesignerCategoryAttribute("code")] [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlTypeAttribute(AnonymousType = true, Namespace = "http://RulesEngineServicesLibrary/RulesEngineServices")] public partial class createEligibilityRuleSet { private CreateEligibilityRuleSetSvcRequest requestField; /// <remarks/> [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlElementAttribute(Form = System.Xml.Schema.XmlSchemaForm.Unqualified, IsNullable = true, Order = 0)] public CreateEligibilityRuleSetSvcRequest request { get { return this.requestField; } set { this.requestField = value; } } } /// <remarks/> [System.CodeDom.Compiler.GeneratedCodeAttribute("svcutil", "3.0.4506.2152")] [System.SerializableAttribute()] [System.Diagnostics.DebuggerStepThroughAttribute()] [System.ComponentModel.DesignerCategoryAttribute("code")] [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlTypeAttribute(Namespace = "http://RulesEngineServicesLibrary")] public partial class CreateEligibilityRuleSetSvcRequest : RulesEngineServicesSvcRequest { private string requestField; /// <remarks/> [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlElementAttribute(Form = System.Xml.Schema.XmlSchemaForm.Unqualified, Order = 0)] public string request { get { return this.requestField; } set { this.requestField = value; } } } [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlIncludeAttribute(typeof(CreateEligibilityRuleSetSvcRequest))] [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlIncludeAttribute(typeof(ApplyMemberEligibilitySvcRequest))] [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlIncludeAttribute(typeof(CreateCompletionCriteriaRuleSetSvcRequest))] [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlIncludeAttribute(typeof(CopyRuleSetSvcRequest))] [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlIncludeAttribute(typeof(DeleteRuleSetByIDSvcRequest))] [System.CodeDom.Compiler.GeneratedCodeAttribute("svcutil", "3.0.4506.2152")] [System.SerializableAttribute()] [System.Diagnostics.DebuggerStepThroughAttribute()] [System.ComponentModel.DesignerCategoryAttribute("code")] [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlTypeAttribute(Namespace = "http://RulesEngineServicesLibrary")] public partial class RulesEngineServicesSvcRequest : ServiceRequest { } /// <remarks/> [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlIncludeAttribute(typeof(RulesEngineServicesSvcRequest))] [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlIncludeAttribute(typeof(CreateEligibilityRuleSetSvcRequest))] [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlIncludeAttribute(typeof(ApplyMemberEligibilitySvcRequest))] [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlIncludeAttribute(typeof(CreateCompletionCriteriaRuleSetSvcRequest))] [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlIncludeAttribute(typeof(CopyRuleSetSvcRequest))] [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlIncludeAttribute(typeof(DeleteRuleSetByIDSvcRequest))] [System.CodeDom.Compiler.GeneratedCodeAttribute("svcutil", "3.0.4506.2152")] [System.SerializableAttribute()] [System.Diagnostics.DebuggerStepThroughAttribute()] [System.ComponentModel.DesignerCategoryAttribute("code")] [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlTypeAttribute(Namespace = "http://FELibrary")] public partial class ServiceRequest { private string applicationIdField; /// <remarks/> [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlElementAttribute(Form = System.Xml.Schema.XmlSchemaForm.Unqualified, Order = 0)] public string applicationId { get { return this.applicationIdField; } set { this.applicationIdField = value; } } } Request from client comes on Message body as below. • Magento Onepage Success Conversion Tracking Design Pattern

    - by user1734954
    My intent is to track conversions through multiple channels by inserting third party javascript (for example google analytics, optimizely, pricegrabber etc.) into the footer of onepage success . I've accomplished this by adding a block to the footer reference inside of the checkout success node within local.xml and everything works appropriately. My questions are more about efficiency and extensibility. It occurred to me that it would be better to combine all of the blocks into a single block reference and then use a various methods acting on a single call to the various related models to provide the data needed for insertion into the javascript for each of the conversion tracking scripts. Some examples of the common data that conversion tracking may rely on(pseudo): Order ID , Order Total, Order.LineItem.Name(foreach) and so on Currently for each of the scripts I've made a call to the appropriate model passing the customers last order id as the load value and the calling a get() assigning the return value to a variable and then iterating through the data to match the values with the expectations of the given third party service. All of the data should be pulled once when checkout is complete each third party services may expect different data in different formats Here is an example of one of the conversion tracking template files which loads at the footer of checkout success. $order = Mage::getModel('sales/order')->loadByIncrementId(Mage::getSingleton('checkout/session')->getLastRealOrderId()); $amount = number_format($order->getGrandTotal(),2); $customer = Mage::helper('customer')->getCustomer()->getData(); ?> <script type="text/javascript"> popup_email = '<?php echo($customer['email']);?>'; popup_order_number = '<?php echo $this->getOrderId() ?>'; </script> <!-- PriceGrabber Merchant Evaluation Code --> <script type="text/javascript" charset="UTF-8" src="https://www.pricegrabber.com/rating_merchrevpopjs.php?retid=<something>"></script> <noscript><a href="http://www.pricegrabber.com/rating_merchrev.php?retid=<something>" target=_blank> <img src="https://images.pricegrabber.com/images/mr_noprize.jpg" border="0" width="272" height="238" alt="Merchant Evaluation"></a></noscript> <!-- End PriceGrabber Code --> Having just a single piece of code like this is not that big of a deal, but we are doing similar things with a number of different third party services. Pricegrabber is one of the simpler examples. A more sophisticated tracking service expects a comma separated list of all of the product names, ids, prices, categories , order id etc. I would like to make it all more manageable so my idea to do the following: combine all of the template files into a single file Develop a helper class or library to deliver the data to the conversion template Goals Include Extensibility Minimal Model Calls Minimal Method Calls The Questions 1. Is a Mage helper the best route to take? 2. Is there any design pattern you may recommend for the "helper" class? 3. Why would this the design pattern you've chosen be best for this instance?

  • Android app hanging, sometimes until Force Close / Wait dialog appears

    - by fredley
    I'm making an app that records uncompressed (wav format) audio. I'm using this class to actually record the audio. Currently, my application records fine (I can play the file), however when I click the button to stop the recording, the app hangs for 10 seconds or so, with no log output or any signs of life. Finally it comes round, dumps a load of errors into the log, updates the UI etc. I'm using AsyncTasks to try and avoid this kind of thing but it's not working. Here's my code: //Called on clicks of the record button. rar is the instance of RehearsalAudioRecorder private OnClickListener RecordListener = new OnClickListener(){ @Override public void onClick(View v) { Log.d("Record","Click"); if (recording){ new stopRecordingTask().execute(rar,null,null); startStop.setText("Record"); statusBar.setText("Recording Finished, ready to Encode"); }else{ recording = true; new startRecordingTask().execute(rar,null,null); startStop.setText("Stop"); statusBar.setText("Recording Started"); } } }; private class startRecordingTask extends AsyncTask<RehearsalAudioRecorder,Void,Void>{ @Override protected Void doInBackground(RehearsalAudioRecorder... rs) { RehearsalAudioRecorder r = rs[0]; r.setOutputFile("/sdcard/rarOut.wav"); r.prepare(); r.start(); return null; } } private class stopRecordingTask extends AsyncTask<RehearsalAudioRecorder,Void,Void>{ @Override protected Void doInBackground(RehearsalAudioRecorder... rs) { RehearsalAudioRecorder r = rs[0]; r.stop(); r.reset(); return null; } } In Logcat, I always get output like this, which has me stumped. I have no idea what's causing it (I'm logging the RehearsalAudioRecorder class, and it's being started/stopped correctly by the button clicks. This output occurs after the log output for the button click and correct stop() method call) 12-19 11:59:11.172: ERROR/AudioRecord-JNI(22662): Unable to retrieve AudioRecord object, can't record 12-19 11:59:11.172: ERROR/uk.ac.cam.tfmw2.steg.RehearsalAudioRecorder(22662): Error occured in updateListener, recording is aborted 12-19 11:59:11.172: ERROR/uk.ac.cam.tfmw2.steg.RehearsalAudioRecorder(22662): stop() called on illegal state: STOPPED 12-19 11:59:11.172: ERROR/AudioRecord-JNI(22662): Unable to retrieve AudioRecord object, can't record 12-19 11:59:11.172: ERROR/uk.ac.cam.tfmw2.steg.RehearsalAudioRecorder(22662): Error occured in updateListener, recording is aborted 12-19 11:59:11.172: ERROR/uk.ac.cam.tfmw2.steg.RehearsalAudioRecorder(22662): stop() called on illegal state: ERROR 12-19 11:59:11.172: ERROR/AudioRecord-JNI(22662): Unable to retrieve AudioRecord object, can't record 12-19 11:59:11.172: ERROR/uk.ac.cam.tfmw2.steg.RehearsalAudioRecorder(22662): Error occured in updateListener, recording is aborted 12-19 11:59:11.172: ERROR/uk.ac.cam.tfmw2.steg.RehearsalAudioRecorder(22662): stop() called on illegal state: ERROR ... 10 or more times I've been fiddling with this all day and I'm not getting anywhere, any input would be greatly appreciated. Update I've replace the AsyncTasks with Threads, still doesn't work, the app completely hangs when I click record, despite the fact the Log indicates there's nothing going on in the main thread. Still completely stumped.

  • strange segmentation fault during function return

    - by Kyle
    I am running a program on 2 different machines. On one it works fine without issue. On the other it results in a segmentation fault. Through debugging, I have figured out where the fault occurs, but I can't figure out a logical reason for it to happen. In one function I have the following code: pass_particles(particle_grid, particle_properties, input_data, coll_eros_track, collision_number_part, world, grid_rank_lookup, grid_locations); cout<<"done passing particles"<<endl; The function pass_particles looks like: void pass_particles(map<int,map<int,Particle> > & particle_grid, std::vector<Particle_props> & particle_properties, User_input& input_data, data_tracking & coll_eros_track, vector<int> & collision_number_part, mpi::communicator & world, std::map<int,int> & grid_rank_lookup, map<int,std::vector<double> > & grid_locations) { //cout<<"east-west"<<endl;   • Explicit method tables in C# instead of OO - good? bad?

    - by FunctorSalad
    Hi! I hope the title doesn't sound too subjective; I absolutely do not mean to start a debate on OO in general. I'd merely like to discuss the basic pros and cons for different ways of solving the following sort of problem. Let's take this minimal example: you want to express an abstract datatype T with functions that may take T as input, output, or both: f1 : Takes a T, returns an int f2 : Takes a string, returns a T f3 : Takes a T and a double, returns another T I'd like to avoid downcasting and any other dynamic typing. I'd also like to avoid mutation whenever possible. 1: Abstract-class-based attempt abstract class T { abstract int f1(); // We can't have abstract constructors, so the best we can do, as I see it, is: abstract void f2(string s); // The convention would be that you'd replace calls to the original f2 by invocation of the nullary constructor of the implementing type, followed by invocation of f2. f2 would need to have side-effects to be of any use. // f3 is a problem too: abstract T f3(double d); // This doesn't express that the return value is of the *same* type as the object whose method is invoked; it just expresses that the return value is *some* T. } 2: Parametric polymorphism and an auxilliary class (all implementing classes of TImpl will be singleton classes): abstract class TImpl<T> { abstract int f1(T t); abstract T f2(string s); abstract T f3(T t, double d); } We no longer express that some concrete type actually implements our original spec -- an implementation is simply a type Foo for which we happen to have an instance of TImpl. This doesn't seem to be a problem: If you want a function that works on arbitrary implementations, you just do something like: // Say we want to return a Bar given an arbitrary implementation of our abstract type Bar bar<T>(TImpl<T> ti, T t); At this point, one might as well skip inheritance and singletons altogether and use a 3 First-class function table class /* or struct, even */ TDictT<T> { readonly Func<T,int> f1; readonly Func<string,T> f2; readonly Func<T,double,T> f3; TDict( ... ) { this.f1 = f1; this.f2 = f2; this.f3 = f3; } } Bar bar<T>(TDict<T> td; T t); Though I don't see much practical difference between #2 and #3. Example Implementation class MyT { /* raw data structure goes here; this class needn't have any methods */ } // It doesn't matter where we put the following; could be a static method of MyT, or some static class collecting dictionaries static readonly TDict<MyT> MyTDict = new TDict<MyT>( (t) => /* body of f1 goes here */ , // f2 (s) => /* body of f2 goes here */, // f3 (t,d) => /* body of f3 goes here */ ); Thoughts? #3 is unidiomatic, but it seems rather safe and clean. One question is whether there are any performance concerns with it. I don't usually need dynamic dispatch, and I'd prefer if these function bodies get statically inlined in places where the concrete implementing type is known statically. Is #2 better in that regard?

  • Scala: Recursively building all pathes in a graph?

    - by DarqMoth
    Trying to build all existing paths for an udirected graph defined as a map of edges using the following algorithm: Start: with a given vertice A Find an edge (X.A, X.B) or (X.B, X.A), add this edge to path Find all edges Ys fpr which either (Y.C, Y.B) or (Y.B, Y.C) is true For each Ys: A=B, goto Start Providing edges are defined as the following map, where keys are tuples consisting of two vertices: val edges = Map( ("n1", "n2") -> "n1n2", ("n1", "n3") -> "n1n3", ("n3", "n4") -> "n3n4", ("n5", "n1") -> "n5n1", ("n5", "n4") -> "n5n4") As an output I need to get a list of ALL pathes where each path is a list of adjecent edges like this: val allPaths = List( List(("n1", "n2") -> "n1n2"), List(("n1", "n3") -> "n1n3", ("n3", "n4") -> "n3n4"), List(("n5", "n1") -> "n5n1"), List(("n5", "n4") -> "n5n4"), List(("n2", "n1") -> "n1n2", ("n1", "n3") -> "n1n3", ("n3", "n4") -> "n3n4", ("n5", "n4") -> "n5n4")) //... //... more pathes to go } Note: Edge XY = (x,y) - "xy" and YX = (y,x) - "yx" exist as one instance only, either as XY or YX So far I have managed to implement code that duplicates edges in the path, which is wrong and I can not find the error: object Graph2 { type Vertice = String type Edge = ((String, String), String) type Path = List[((String, String), String)] val edges = Map( //(("v1", "v2") , "v1v2"), (("v1", "v3") , "v1v3"), (("v3", "v4") , "v3v4") //(("v5", "v1") , "v5v1"), //(("v5", "v4") , "v5v4") ) def main(args: Array[String]): Unit = { val processedVerticies: Map[Vertice, Vertice] = Map() val processedEdges: Map[(Vertice, Vertice), (Vertice, Vertice)] = Map() val path: Path = List() println(buildPath(path, "v1", processedVerticies, processedEdges)) } /** * Builds path from connected by edges vertices starting from given vertice * Input: map of edges * Output: list of connected edges like: List(("n1", "n2") -> "n1n2"), List(("n1", "n3") -> "n1n3", ("n3", "n4") -> "n3n4"), List(("n5", "n1") -> "n5n1"), List(("n5", "n4") -> "n5n4"), List(("n2", "n1") -> "n1n2", ("n1", "n3") -> "n1n3", ("n3", "n4") -> "n3n4", ("n5", "n4") -> "n5n4")) */ def buildPath(path: Path, vertice: Vertice, processedVerticies: Map[Vertice, Vertice], processedEdges: Map[(Vertice, Vertice), (Vertice, Vertice)]): List[Path] = { println("V: " + vertice + " VM: " + processedVerticies + " EM: " + processedEdges) if (!processedVerticies.contains(vertice)) { val edges = children(vertice) println("Edges: " + edges) val x = edges.map(edge => { if (!processedEdges.contains(edge._1)) { addToPath(vertice, processedVerticies.++(Map(vertice -> vertice)), processedEdges, path, edge) } else { println("ALready have edge: "+edge+" Return path:"+path) path } }) val y = x.toList y } else { List(path) } } def addToPath( vertice: Vertice, processedVerticies: Map[Vertice, Vertice], processedEdges: Map[(Vertice, Vertice), (Vertice, Vertice)], path: Path, edge: Edge): Path = { val newPath: Path = path ::: List(edge) val key = edge._1 val nextVertice = neighbor(vertice, key) val x = buildPath (newPath, nextVertice, processedVerticies, processedEdges ++ (Map((vertice, nextVertice) -> (vertice, nextVertice))) ).flatten // need define buidPath type x } def children(vertice: Vertice) = { edges.filter(p => (p._1)._1 == vertice || (p._1)._2 == vertice) } def containsPair(x: (Vertice, Vertice), m: Map[(Vertice, Vertice), (Vertice, Vertice)]): Boolean = { m.contains((x._1, x._2)) || m.contains((x._2, x._1)) } def neighbor(vertice: String, key: (String, String)): String = key match { case (`vertice`, x) => x case (x, `vertice`) => x } } Running this results in: List(List(((v1,v3),v1v3), ((v1,v3),v1v3), ((v3,v4),v3v4))) Why is that?

  • How to create a dynamically built Context Menu clickEvent

    - by Chris
    C#, winform I have a DataGridView and a context menu that opens when you right click a specific column. What shows up in the context menu is dependant on what's in the field clicked on - paths to multiple files (the paths are manipulated to create a full UNC path to the correct file). The only problem is that I can't get the click working. I did not drag and drop the context menu from the toolbar, I created it programmically. I figured that if I can get the path (let's call it ContextMenuChosen) to show up in MessageBox.Show(ContextMenuChosen); I could set the same to System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(ContextMenuChosen); The Mydgv_MouseUp event below actually works to the point where I can get it to fire off MessageBox.Show("foo!"); when something in the context menu is selected but that's where it ends. I left in a bunch of comments below showing what I've tried when it one of the paths are clicked. Some result in empty strings, others error (Object not set to an instance...). I searched code all day yesterday but couldn't find another way to hook up a dynamically built Context Menu clickEvent. Code and comments: ContextMenu m = new ContextMenu(); // SHOW THE RIGHT CLICK MENU private void Mydgv_MouseClick(object sender, MouseEventArgs e) { if (e.Button == MouseButtons.Right) { int currentMouseOverCol = Mydgv.HitTest(e.X, e.Y).ColumnIndex; int currentMouseOverRow = Mydgv.HitTest(e.X, e.Y).RowIndex; if (currentMouseOverRow >= 0 && currentMouseOverCol == 6) { string[] paths = myPaths.Split(';'); foreach (string path in paths) { string UNCPath = "\\\\1.1.1.1\\c$\\MyPath\\"; string FilePath = path.Replace("c:\\MyPath\\", @""); m.MenuItems.Add(new MenuItem(UNCPath + FilePath)); } } m.Show(Mydgv, new Point(e.X, e.Y)); } } // SELECTING SOMETHING IN THE RIGHT CLICK MENU private void Mydgv_MouseUp(object sender, MouseEventArgs e) { DataGridView.HitTestInfo hitTestInfo; if (e.Button == MouseButtons.Right) { hitTestInfo = Mydgv.HitTest(e.X, e.Y); // If column is first column if (hitTestInfo.Type == DataGridViewHitTestType.Cell && hitTestInfo.ColumnIndex == 6) { //MessageBox.Show(m.ToString()); ////MessageBox.Show(m.Tag.ToString()); //MessageBox.Show(m.Name.ToString()); //MessageBox.Show(m.MenuItems.ToString()); ////MessageBox.Show(m.MdiListItem.ToString()); // MessageBox.Show(m.Name); //if (m.MenuItems.Count > 0) //MessageBox.Show(m.MdiListItem.Text); //MessageBox.Show(m.ToString()); //MessageBox.Show(m.MenuItems.ToString()); //Mydgv.ContextMenu.Show(m.Name.ToString()); //MessageBox.Show(ContextMenu.ToString()); //MessageBox.Show(ContextMenu.MenuItems.ToString()); //MenuItem.text //MessageBox.Show(this.ContextMenu.MenuItems.ToString()); } m.MenuItems.Clear(); } } I'm very close to completing this so any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, ~ Chris

  • ValidationProperty not returning entered value for textbox in custom ontrol

    - by nat
    hi I have a custom control, (relevant code at the bottom) it consists of some text/links and a hidden textbox (rather than a hidden input). when rendered, the user via another dialog and some JS sets the value of the textbox to an integer and clicks submit on the form. i am trying to assure that the user has entered a number (via the JS) and that the textbox is not still set to its default of "0" the requiredfieldvalidator works just fine, if i dont change the value it spots it on the client and fills the validation summary on the page with the appropriate message. unfortunately when i do fill the textbox, the validator also rejests the post as the controls textbox text value is still set to "0", even though on the form it has changed. clearly i am doing something wrong.. but cant work out what it is? could someone enlighten me please, this is driving me potty if i step through the code, when the get of the mediaidtext is hit,the findcontrol finds does not the textbox, if i inspect the controls collection however i can find the textbox, but its value is still "0" it also seems that when findcontrol is called, the createchildcontrols is called again - thus resetting the value back to "0" there.. ! how can i ever assure the control realises that the textbox value has changed? many thanks code below nat [ValidationProperty("MediaIdText")] public class MediaLibraryFileControl: CompositeControl { private int mediaId = 0; public int MediaId { get { return mediaId; } set { mediaId = value; } } public string MediaIdText { get { string txt = "0"; Control ctrl = this.FindControl(this.UniqueID+ "_hidden"); try { txt = ((TextBox)ctrl).Text; MediaId = Convert.ToInt32(txt); } catch { MediaId = 0; } return txt; } } protected override void CreateChildControls() { this.Controls.Add(new LiteralControl("<span>")); this.Controls.Add(new LiteralControl("<span id=\"" + TextControlName + "\">" + getMediaDetails() + "</span>")); TextBox tb = new TextBox(); tb.Text = this.MediaId.ToString(); tb.ID = this.UniqueID + "_hidden"; tb.CssClass = "hidden"; this.Controls.Add(tb); if (Select == true) { this.Controls.Add(new LiteralControl(string.Format("&nbsp;[<a href=\"javascript:{0}(this,'{1}','{2}')\" class=\"select\">{3}</a>]", dialog, this.UniqueID, this.categoryId, "select"))); this.Controls.Add(new LiteralControl(string.Format("&nbsp;[<a href=\"javascript:{0}(this,'{1}')\" class=\"select\">{2}</a>]", clearDialog, this.ID, "clear"))); } this.Controls.Add(new LiteralControl("</span>")); } protected virtual string getMediaDetails() { //... return String.Empty; } } this is the code adding the validationcontrol the editcontrol is the instance of the control above public override Control RenderValidationControl(Control editControl) { Control ctrl = new PlaceHolder(); RequiredFieldValidator req = new RequiredFieldValidator(); req.ID = editControl.ClientID + "_validator"; req.ControlToValidate = editControl.ID; req.Display = ValidatorDisplay.None; req.InitialValue = "0"; req.EnableClientScript = false; req.ErrorMessage = "control cannot be blank"; ctrl.Controls.Add(req); return ctrl; }

That is also giving the same error. I am using Spring 3.1.0.RELEASE Can someone help me figure out what I am missing - /soundmails/test is giving 404 error. Edit I am unable to enable DEBUG logs for this. For some reason, it is not taking log level configured in logging.properties But I observed something interesting: 1) If I map the request to empty string (value = "") @RequestMapping(value="", method=RequestMethod.GET) public @ResponseBody String test() { System.out.println("Hai"); return "Hai"; } Then, when I try to access 127.0.0.1/soundmails, it works fine (returns string "Hai"). 2) When I have value="/test" @RequestMapping(value="/test", method=RequestMethod.GET) public @ResponseBody String test() { System.out.println("Hai"); return "Hai"; } and I try to access 127.0.0.1/soundmails/test, it is giving HTTP 404. This is weird.

  • Algorithm to select groups of similar items in 2d array

    - by mafutrct
    There is a 2d array of items (in my case they are called Intersections). A certain item is given as a start. The task is to find all items directly or indirectly connected to this item that satisfy a certain function. So the basic algorithm is like this: Add the start to the result list. Repeat until no modification: Add each item in the array that satisfies the function and touches any item in the result list to the result list. My current implementation looks like this: private IList<Intersection> SelectGroup ( Intersection start, Func<Intersection, Intersection, bool> select) { List<Intersection> result = new List<Intersection> (); Queue<Intersection> source = new Queue<Intersection> (); source.Enqueue (start); while (source.Any ()) { var s = source.Dequeue (); result.Add (s); foreach (var neighbour in Neighbours (s)) { if (select (start, neighbour) && !result.Contains (neighbour) && !source.Contains (neighbour)) { source.Enqueue (neighbour); } } } Debug.Assert (result.Distinct ().Count () == result.Count ()); Debug.Assert (result.All (x => select (x, result.First ()))); return result; } private List<Intersection> Neighbours (IIntersection intersection) { int x = intersection.X; int y = intersection.Y; List<Intersection> list = new List<Intersection> (); if (x > 1) { list.Add (GetIntersection (x - 1, y)); } if (y > 1) { list.Add (GetIntersection (x, y - 1)); } if (x < Size) { list.Add (GetIntersection (x + 1, y)); } if (y < Size) { list.Add (GetIntersection (x, y + 1)); } return list; } (The select function takes a start item and returns true iff the second item satisfies.) This does its job and turned out to be reasonable fast for the usual array sizes (about 20*20). However, I'm interested in further improvements. Any ideas? Example (X satisfies in relation to other Xs, . does never satisfy): .... XX.. .XX. X... In this case, there are 2 groups: a central group of 4 items and a group of a single item in the lower left. Selecting the group (for instance by starting item [2, 2]) returns the former, while the latter can be selected using the starting item and sole return value [0, 3]. Example 2: .A.. ..BB A.AA This time there are 4 groups. The 3 A groups are not connected, so they are returned as separate groups. The bigger A and B groups are connected, but A does not related to B so they are returned as separate groups.

  • The best JSF coding pattern for editing JPA entities using @RequestScoped only

    - by AlanObject
    I am in a project where I will write a lot of pages like this, so I want to use the most efficient (to write) coding pattern. Background: In the past I have used CODI's @ViewAccessScoped to preserve state between requests, and more recently I have started using flash scoped objects to save state. I can't use JSF @ViewScoped because I use CDI and they don't play well together. So I want to see if I can do this with only @RequestScoped backing beans. The page is designed like this (the p namespace is Primefaces): <f:metadata> <f:viewParam name="ID" value="#{backing.id}" /> </f:metadata> .... <h1>Edit Object Page</h1> <h:form id="formObj" rendered="#{backing.accessOK}"> <p:panelGrid columns="2"> <h:outputLabel value="Field #1:"/> <p:inputText value="#{backing.record.field1}" /> (more input fields) <h:outputLabel value="Action:" /> <h:panelGroup> <p:commandButton value="Save" action="#{backing.save}" /> <p:commandButton value="Cancel" action="backing.cancel" /> </h:panelGroup> </p:panelGrid> <p:messages showDetail="true" showSummary="true" /> </h:form> If the page is requested, the method accessOK() has the ability to keep the h:form from being rendered. Instead, the p:messages is shown with whatever FacesMessage(s) the accessOK() method cares to set. The pattern for the bean backing looks like this: @Named @RequestScoped public class Backing { private long id; private SomeJPAEntity record; private Boolean accessOK; public long getId() { return id; } public void setId(long value) { id = value; } public boolean accessOK() { if (accessOK != null) return accessOK; if (getRecord() == null) { // add a FacesMessage that explains the record // does not exist return accessOK = false; // note single = } // do any other access checks, such as write permissions return accessOK = true; } public SomeJPAEntity getRecord() { if (record != null) return record; if (getId() > 0) record = // get the record from DB else record = new SomeJPAEntity(); return record; } public String execute() { if (!accessOK()) return null; // bad edit // do other integrity checks here. If fail, set FacesMessages // and return null; if (getId() > 0) // merge the record back into the data base else // persist the record } } Here is what goes wrong with this model. When the Save button is clicked, a new instance of Backing is built, and then there are a lot of calls to the getRecord() getter before the setID() setter is called. So the logic in getRecord() breaks because it cannot rely on the id property being valid when it is called. When this was a @ViewAccessScoped (or ViewScoped) backing bean, then both the id and record properties are already set when the form is processed with the commandButton. Alternatively you can save those properties in flash storage but that has its own problems I want to avoid. So is there a way to make this programming model work within the specification?

  • I'm trying to pass a string from my first ViewController to my second ViewController but it returns NULL

    - by Dashony
    In my first view controller I have 3 input fields each of them take the user input into and saves it into a string such as: address, username and password as NSUserDefaults. This part works fine. In my second view controller I'm trying to take the 3 strings from first controller (address, username and password) create a html link based on the 3 strings. I've tried many ways to access the 3 strings with no luck, the result I get is NULL. Here is my code: //.h file - first view controller with the 3 input fields CamSetup.h #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> @interface CamSetup : UIViewController <UITextFieldDelegate> { NSString * address; NSString * username; NSString * password; IBOutlet UITextField * addressField; IBOutlet UITextField * usernameField; IBOutlet UITextField * passwordField; } -(IBAction) saveAddress: (id) sender; -(IBAction) saveUsername: (id) sender; -(IBAction) savePassword: (id) sender; @property(nonatomic, retain) UITextField *addressField; @property(nonatomic, retain) UITextField *usernameField; @property(nonatomic, retain) UITextField *passwordField; @property(nonatomic, retain) NSString *address; @property(nonatomic, retain) NSString *username; @property(nonatomic, retain) NSString *password; @end //.m file - first view controller CamSetup.m #import "CamSetup.h" @interface CamSetup () @end @implementation CamSetup @synthesize addressField, usernameField, passwordField, address, username, password; -(IBAction) saveAddress: (id) sender { address = [[NSString alloc] initWithFormat:addressField.text]; [addressField setText:address]; NSUserDefaults *stringDefaultAddress = [NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults]; [stringDefaultAddress setObject:address forKey:@"stringKey1"]; NSLog(@"String [%@]", address); } -(IBAction) saveUsername: (id) sender { username = [[NSString alloc] initWithFormat:usernameField.text]; [usernameField setText:username]; NSUserDefaults *stringDefaultUsername = [NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults]; [stringDefaultUsername setObject:username forKey:@"stringKey2"]; NSLog(@"String [%@]", username); } -(IBAction) savePassword: (id) sender { password = [[NSString alloc] initWithFormat:passwordField.text]; [passwordField setText:password]; NSUserDefaults *stringDefaultPassword = [NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults]; [stringDefaultPassword setObject:password forKey:@"stringKey3"]; NSLog(@"String [%@]", password); } - (void)viewDidLoad { [addressField setText:[[NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults] objectForKey:@"stringKey1"]]; [usernameField setText:[[NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults] objectForKey:@"stringKey2"]]; [passwordField setText:[[NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults] objectForKey:@"stringKey3"]]; [super viewDidLoad]; } @end //.h second view controller LiveView.h #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> #import "CamSetup.h" @interface LiveView : UIViewController { NSString *theAddress; NSString *theUsername; NSString *thePassword; CamSetup *camsetup; //here is an instance of the first class } @property (nonatomic, retain) NSString *theAddress; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSString *theUsername; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSString *thePassword; @end //.m second view LiveView.m file #import "LiveView.h" @interface LiveView () @end @implementation LiveView @synthesize theAddress, theUsername, thePassword; - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; theUsername = camsetup.username; //this is probably not right? • iPhone NSCalendar - Incorrect Calendar Drawn for users outside US

    - by xoail
    After trying to work on someone else's code, and so many different iterations, I am unable to understand what am I doing wrong with dates on a calendar month view. I am trying to present a calendar in month view fashion like calendar.app but unfortunately some users in countries like Australia, UK are reporting incorrect alignment of Days to Dates. For instance in Australia it displays 17th March as Friday. Any help is highly appreciated! Here is the code sample I am using: -(void)setCalendar { NSCalendar *gregorian = [[NSCalendar alloc] initWithCalendarIdentifier:NSGregorianCalendar]; NSDateComponents *comps = [gregorian components:units fromDate:[NSDate date]]; self.currentDate = [gregorian dateFromComponents:comps]; NSInteger weekdayInteger=[comps weekday]; currentMonth=[comps month]; currentYear=[comps year]; NSString *dateString=[[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@",currentDate] substringToIndex:10]; NSArray *array= [dateString componentsSeparatedByString:@"-"]; NSInteger currentDay=[[array objectAtIndex:2] intValue]; currentMonthConstant=currentMonth; currentYearConstant=currentYear; currentDayConstant=currentDay; currentConstantDate=[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%d/%d/%d",currentDayConstant,currentMonthConstant,currentYearConstant]; currentFirstDay=((8+weekdayInteger-(currentDay%7))%7); if(currentFirstDay==0) currentFirstDay=7; [gregorian release]; } And this is how im populating the calendar: -(void)fillCalender:(NSInteger)month weekStarts:(NSInteger)weekday year:(NSInteger)year { currentMonth=month; currentYear=year; currentFirstDay=weekday; UIButton *temp; NSInteger numberOfDays=[self getNumberofDays:month YearVlue:year]; currentLastDay=(currentFirstDay+numberOfDays-1)%7; if(currentLastDay==0) currentLastDay=7; NSString *monthName=[self getMonth:month]; NSInteger grid=(weekday-1); monthLabel.text=[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@ %d",monthName,year]; for(int i=1;i<=numberOfDays;i++) { if([frontView isEqualToString:@"view1"]) temp=[arr_View2Buttons objectAtIndex:grid]; else temp= [arr_View1Buttons objectAtIndex:grid]; [temp setBackgroundImage:nil forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [temp setUserInteractionEnabled:TRUE]; UILabel *aLbl = (UILabel *)[temp viewWithTag:123]; [aLbl setText:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%d",i]]; // check for today if(currentDayConstant == i && currentMonthConstant == currentMonth && currentYearConstant == currentYear) { [aLbl setTextColor:[UIColor blueColor]]; } else { [aLbl setTextColor:[UIColor colorWithRed:69/255.0 green:2/255.0 blue:71/255.0 alpha:1.0]]; } [temp setTag:i]; grid++; if(grid==35) grid=0; } } And finally viewdidload: - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; [self setCalendar]; // set views [self.view1 setFrame:CGRectMake(0,45,320,232)]; [self.view2 setFrame:CGRectMake(0,277,320,232)]; [self.view addSubview:self.view1]; [self.view addSubview:self.view2]; frontView = @"view2"; [self fillCalender:currentMonth weekStarts:currentFirstDay year:currentYear]; frontView = @"view1"; }

  • Many-to-many mapping with LINQ

    - by Alexander
    I would like to perform LINQ to SQL mapping in C#, in a many-to-many relationship, but where data is not mandatory. To be clear: I have a news site/blog, and there's a table called Posts. A blog can relate to many categories at once, so there is a table called CategoriesPosts that links with foreign keys with the Posts table and with Categories table. I've made each table with an identity primary key, an id field in each one, if it matters in this case. In C# I defined a class for each table, defined each field as explicitly as possible. The Post class, as well as Category class, have a EntitySet to link to CategoryPost objects, and CategoryPost class has 2 EntityRef members to link to 2 objects of each other type. The problem is that a Post may relate or not to any category, as well as a category may have posts in it or not. I didn't find a way to make an EntitySet<CategoryPost?> or something like that. So when I added the first post, all went well with not a single SQL statement. Also, this post was present in the output. When I tried to add the second post I got an exception, Object reference not set to an instance of an object, regarding to the CategoryPost member. Post: [Table(Name="tm_posts")] public class Post : IDataErrorInfo { public Post() { //Initialization of NOT NULL fields with their default values } [Column(Name = "id", DbType = "int", CanBeNull = false, IsDbGenerated = true, IsPrimaryKey = true)] public int ID { get; set; } private EntitySet<CategoryPost> _categoryRef = new EntitySet<CategoryPost>(); [Association(Name = "tm_rel_categories_posts_fk2", IsForeignKey = true, Storage = "_categoryRef", ThisKey = "ID", OtherKey = "PostID")] public EntitySet<CategoryPost> CategoryRef { get { return _categoryRef; } set { _categoryRef.Assign(value); } } } CategoryPost [Table(Name = "tm_rel_categories_posts")] public class CategoryPost { [Column(Name = "id", DbType = "int", CanBeNull = false, IsDbGenerated = true, IsPrimaryKey = true)] public int ID { get; set; } [Column(Name = "fk_post", DbType = "int", CanBeNull = false)] public int PostID { get; set; } [Column(Name = "fk_category", DbType = "int", CanBeNull = false)] public int CategoryID { get; set; } private EntityRef<Post> _post = new EntityRef<Post>(); [Association(Name = "tm_rel_categories_posts_fk2", IsForeignKey = true, Storage = "_post", ThisKey = "PostID", OtherKey = "ID")] public Post Post { get { return _post.Entity; } set { _post.Entity = value; } } private EntityRef<Category> _category = new EntityRef<Category>(); [Association(Name = "tm_rel_categories_posts_fk", IsForeignKey = true, Storage = "_category", ThisKey = "CategoryID", OtherKey = "ID")] public Category Category { get { return _category.Entity; } set { _category.Entity = value; } } } Category [Table(Name="tm_categories")] public class Category { [Column(Name = "id", DbType = "int", CanBeNull = false, IsDbGenerated = true, IsPrimaryKey = true)] public int ID { get; set; } [Column(Name = "fk_parent", DbType = "int", CanBeNull = true)] public int ParentID { get; set; } private EntityRef<Category> _parent = new EntityRef<Category>(); [Association(Name = "tm_posts_fk2", IsForeignKey = true, Storage = "_parent", ThisKey = "ParentID", OtherKey = "ID")] public Category Parent { get { return _parent.Entity; } set { _parent.Entity = value; } } [Column(Name = "name", DbType = "varchar(100)", CanBeNull = false)] public string Name { get; set; } } So what am I doing wrong? How to make it possible to insert a post that doesn't belong to any category? How to insert categories with no posts?

  • Drawing outlines around organic shapes

    - by ThunderChunky_SF
    One thing that seems particularly easy to do in the Flash IDE but difficult to do with code is to outline an organic shape. In the IDE you can just use the inkbucket tool to draw a stroke around something. Using nothing but code it seems much trickier. One method I've seen is to add a glow filter to the shape in question and just mess with the strength. But what if i want to only show the outline? What I'd like to do is to collect all of the points that make up the edge of the shape and then just connect the dots. I've actually gotten so far as to collect all of the points with a quick and dirty edge detection script that I wrote. So now I have a Vector of all the points that makeup my shape. How do I connect them in the proper sequence so it actually looks like the original object? For anyone who is interested here is my edge detection script: // Create a new sprite which we'll use for our outline var sp:Sprite = new Sprite(); var radius:int = 50; sp.graphics.beginFill(0x00FF00, 1); sp.graphics.drawCircle(0, 0, radius); sp.graphics.endFill(); sp.x = stage.stageWidth / 2; sp.y = stage.stageHeight / 2; // Create a bitmap data object to draw our vector data var bmd:BitmapData = new BitmapData(sp.width, sp.height, true, 0); // Use a transform matrix to translate the drawn clip so that none of its // pixels reside in negative space. The draw method will only draw starting // at 0,0 var mat:Matrix = new Matrix(1, 0, 0, 1, radius, radius); bmd.draw(sp, mat); // Pass the bitmap data to an actual bitmap var bmp:Bitmap = new Bitmap(bmd); // Add the bitmap to the stage addChild(bmp); // Grab all of the pixel data from the bitmap data object var pixels:Vector.<uint> = bmd.getVector(bmd.rect); // Setup a vector to hold our stroke points var points:Vector.<Point> = new Vector.<Point>; // Loop through all of the pixels of the bitmap data object and // create a point instance for each pixel location that isn't // transparent. var l:int = pixels.length; for(var i:int = 0; i < l; ++i) { // Check to see if the pixel is transparent if(pixels[i] != 0) { var pt:Point; // Check to see if the pixel is on the first or last // row. We'll grab everything from these rows to close the outline if(i <= bmp.width || i >= (bmp.width * bmp.height) - bmp.width) { pt = new Point(); pt.x = int(i % bmp.width); pt.y = int(i / bmp.width); points.push(pt); continue; } // Check to see if the current pixel is on either extreme edge if(int(i % bmp.width) == 0 || int(i % bmp.width) == bmp.width - 1) { pt = new Point(); pt.x = int(i % bmp.width); pt.y = int(i / bmp.width); points.push(pt); continue; } // Check to see if the previous or next pixel are transparent, // if so save the current one. if(i > 0 && i < bmp.width * bmp.height) { if(pixels[i - 1] == 0 || pixels[i + 1] == 0) { pt = new Point(); pt.x = int(i % bmp.width); pt.y = int(i / bmp.width); points.push(pt); } } } }

  • Spring @Autowired messageSource working in Controller but not in other classes?

    - by Jayaprakash
    New updates: As I could not succeed in configuring messageSource through annotations, I attempted to configure messageSource injection through servlet-context.xml. I still have messageSource as null. Please let me know if you need any more specific info, and I will provide. In debug mode, I can see that in class xxxController, messageSource is initialized to org.springframework.context.support.ReloadableResourceBundleMessageSource. I have annotated Message class with @Component and xxxHibernateDaoImpl with @Repository. I also included context namespace definition in servlet-context.xml. But in Message class and xxxHibernateDaoImpl class, the messageSource is still null. Why is Spring not initializing messageSource in the two other classes though in xxxController classes, it initializes correctly? @Controller public class xxxController{ @Autowired private ReloadableResourceBundleMessageSource messageSource; } @Component public class Message{ @Autowired private ReloadableResourceBundleMessageSource messageSource; } @Repository("xxxDao") public class xxxHibernateDaoImpl{ @Autowired private ReloadableResourceBundleMessageSource messageSource; } <beans:beans xmlns:context="http://www.springframework.org/schema/context" xsi:schemaLocation=" http://www.springframework.org/schema/context http://www.springframework.org/schema/context/spring-context-3.0.xsd"> <beans:bean id="messageSource" class="org.springframework.context.support.ReloadableResourceBundleMessageSource"> <beans:property name="basename" value="/resources/messages/messages" /> </beans:bean> <context:component-scan base-package="com.mycompany.myapp"/> </beans>

  • Make interchangeable class types via pointer casting only, without having to allocate any new objects?

    - by HostileFork
    UPDATE: I do appreciate "don't want that, want this instead" suggestions. They are useful, especially when provided in context of the motivating scenario. Still...regardless of goodness/badness, I've become curious to find a hard-and-fast "yes that can be done legally in C++11" vs "no it is not possible to do something like that". I want to "alias" an object pointer as another type, for the sole purpose of adding some helper methods. The alias cannot add data members to the underlying class (in fact, the more I can prevent that from happening the better!) All aliases are equally applicable to any object of this type...it's just helpful if the type system can hint which alias is likely the most appropriate. There should be no information about any specific alias that is ever encoded in the underlying object. Hence, I feel like you should be able to "cheat" the type system and just let it be an annotation...checked at compile time, but ultimately irrelevant to the runtime casting. Something along these lines: Node<AccessorFoo>* fooPtr = Node<AccessorFoo>::createViaFactory(); Node<AccessorBar>* barPtr = reinterpret_cast< Node<AccessorBar>* >(fooPtr); Under the hood, the factory method is actually making a NodeBase class, and then using a similar reinterpret_cast to return it as a Node<AccessorFoo>*. The easy way to avoid this is to make these lightweight classes that wrap nodes and are passed around by value. Thus you don't need casting, just Accessor classes that take the node handle to wrap in their constructor: AccessorFoo foo (NodeBase::createViaFactory()); AccessorBar bar (foo.getNode()); But if I don't have to pay for all that, I don't want to. That would involve--for instance--making a special accessor type for each sort of wrapped pointer (AccessorFooShared, AccessorFooUnique, AccessorFooWeak, etc.) Having these typed pointers being aliased for one single pointer-based object identity is preferable, and provides a nice orthogonality. So back to that original question: Node<AccessorFoo>* fooPtr = Node<AccessorFoo>::createViaFactory(); Node<AccessorBar>* barPtr = reinterpret_cast< Node<AccessorBar>* >(fooPtr); Seems like there would be some way to do this that might be ugly but not "break the rules". According to ISO14882:2011(e) 5.2.10-7: An object pointer can be explicitly converted to an object pointer of a different type.70 When a prvalue v of type "pointer to T1" is converted to the type "pointer to cv T2", the result is static_cast(static_cast(v)) if both T1 and T2 are standard-layout types (3.9) and the alignment requirements of T2 are no stricter than those of T1, or if either type is void. Converting a prvalue of type "pointer to T1" to the type "pointer to T2" (where T1 and T2 are object types and where the alignment requirements of T2 are no stricter than those of T1) and back to its original type yields the original pointer value. The result of any other such pointer conversion is unspecified. Drilling into the definition of a "standard-layout class", we find: has no non-static data members of type non-standard-layout-class (or array of such types) or reference, and has no virtual functions (10.3) and no virtual base classes (10.1), and has the same access control (clause 11) for all non-static data members, and has no non-standard-layout base classes, and either has no non-static data member in the most-derived class and at most one base class with non-static data members, or has no base classes with non-static data members, and has no base classes of the same type as the first non-static data member. Sounds like working with something like this would tie my hands a bit with no virtual methods in the accessors or the node. Yet C++11 apparently has std::is_standard_layout to keep things checked. Can this be done safely? Appears to work in gcc-4.7, but I'd like to be sure I'm not invoking undefined behavior.

  • Qthread - trouble shutting down threads

    - by Bryan Greenway
    For the last few days, I've been trying out the new preferred approach for using QThreads without subclassing QThread. The trouble I'm having is when I try to shutdown a set of threads that I created. I regularly get a "Destroyed while thread is still running" message (if I'm running in Debug mode, I also get a Segmentation Fault dialog). My code is very simple, and I've tried to follow the examples that I've been able to find on the internet. My basic setup is as follows: I've a simple class that I want to run in a separate thread; in fact, I want to run 5 instances of this class, each in a separate thread. I have a simple dialog with a button to start each thread, and a button to stop each thread (10 buttons). When I click one of the "start" buttons, a new instance of the test class is created, a new QThread is created, a movetothread is called to get the test class object to the thread...also, since I have a couple of other members in the test class that need to move to the thread, I call movetothread a few additional times with these other items. Note that one of these items is a QUdpSocket, and although this may not make sense, I wanted to make sure that sockets could be moved to a separate thread in this fashion...I haven't tested the use of the socket in the thread at this point. Starting of the threads all seem to work fine. When I use the linux top command to see if the threads are created and running, they show up as expected. The problem occurs when I begin stopping the threads. I randomly (or it appears to be random) get the error described above. Class that is to run in separate thread: // Declaration class TestClass : public QObject { Q_OBJECT public: explicit TestClass(QObject *parent = 0); QTimer m_workTimer; QUdpSocket m_socket; Q_SIGNALS: void finished(); public Q_SLOTS: void start(); void stop(); void doWork(); }; // Implementation TestClass::TestClass(QObject *parent) : QObject(parent) { } void TestClass::start() { connect(&m_workTimer, SIGNAL(timeout()),this,SLOT(doWork())); m_workTimer.start(50); } void TestClass::stop() { m_workTimer.stop(); emit finished(); } void TestClass::doWork() { int j; for(int i = 0; i<10000; i++) { j = i; } } Inside my main app, code called to start the first thread (similar code exists for each of the other threads): mp_thread1 = new QThread(); mp_testClass1 = new TestClass(); mp_testClass1->moveToThread(mp_thread1); mp_testClass1->m_socket.moveToThread(mp_thread1); mp_testClass1->m_workTimer.moveToThread(mp_thread1); connect(mp_thread1, SIGNAL(started()), mp_testClass1, SLOT(start())); connect(mp_testClass1, SIGNAL(finished()), mp_thread1, SLOT(quit())); connect(mp_testClass1, SIGNAL(finished()), mp_testClass1, SLOT(deleteLater())); connect(mp_testClass1, SIGNAL(finished()), mp_thread1, SLOT(deleteLater())); connect(this,SIGNAL(stop1()),mp_testClass1,SLOT(stop())); mp_thread1->start(); Also inside my main app, this code is called when a stop button is clicked for a specific thread (in this case thread 1): emit stop1(); Sometimes it appears that threads are stopped and destroyed without issue. Other times, I get the error described above. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Bryan

  • PHP database selection issue

    - by Citroenfris
    I'm in a bit of a pickle with freshening up my PHP a bit, it's been about 3 years since I last coded in PHP. Any insights are welcomed! I'll give you as much information as I possibly can to resolve this error so here goes! Files config.php database.php news.php BLnews.php index.php Includes config.php - news.php database.php - news.php news.php - BLnews.php BLnews.php - index.php Now the problem with my current code is that the database connection is being made but my database refuses to be selected. The query I have should work but due to my database not getting selected it's kind of annoying to get any data exchange going! database.php <?php class Database { //------------------------------------------- // Connects to the database //------------------------------------------- function connect() { if (isset($dbhost) && isset($dbuser) && isset($dbpass)) { $con = mysql_connect($dbhost, $dbuser, $dbpass) or die("Could not connect: " . mysql_error()); } }// end function connect function selectDB() { if (isset($dbname) && isset($con)) { $selected_db = mysql_select_db($dbname, $con) or die("Could not select test DB"); } } } // end class Database ?> News.php <?php // include the config file and database class include 'config.php'; include 'database.php'; ... ?> BLnews.php <?php // include the news class include 'news.php'; // create an instance of the Database class and call it $db $db = new Database; $db -> connect(); $db->selectDB(); class BLnews { function getNews() { $sql = "SELECT * FROM news"; if (isset($sql)) { $result = mysql_query($sql) or die("Could not execute query. Reason: " .mysql_error()); } return $result; } ?> index.php <?php ... include 'includes/BLnews.php'; $blNews = new BLnews(); $news = $blNews->getNews(); ?> ... <?php while($row = mysql_fetch_array($news)) { echo '<div class="post">'; echo '<h2><a href="#"> ' . $row["title"] .'</a></h2>'; echo '<p class="post-info">Posted by <a href="#"> </a> | <span class="date"> Posted on <a href="#">' . $row["date"] . '</a></span></p>'; echo $row["content"]; echo '</div>'; } ?> Well this is pretty much everything that should get the information going however due to the mysql_error in $result = mysql_query($sql) or die("Could not execute query. Reason: " .mysql_error()); I can see the error and it says: Could not execute query. Reason: No database selected I honestly have no idea why it would not work and I've been fiddling with it for quite some time now. Help is most welcomed and I thank you in advance! Greets Lemon

  • New cast exception with VS2010/.Net 4

    - by Trevor
    [ Updated 25 May 2010 ] I've recently upgraded from VS2008 to VS2010, and at the same time upgraded to .Net 4. I've recompiled an existing solution of mine and I'm encountering a Cast exception I did not have before. The structure of the code is simple (although the actual implementation somewhat more complicated). Basically I have: public class SomeClass : ISomeClass { // Stuff } public static class ClassFactory { public static IInterface GetClassInstance<IInterface>(Type classType) { return (IInterface)Activator.CreateInstance(classType); // This throws a cast exception } } // Call the factory with: ISomeClass anInstance = ClassFactory.GetClassInstance<ISomeClass>(typeof(SomeClass)); Ignore the 'sensibleness' of the above - its provides just a representation of the issue rather than the specifics of what I'm doing (e.g. constructor parameters have been removed). The marked line throws the exception: Unable to cast object of type 'Namespace.SomeClass' to type 'Namespace.ISomeClass'. I suspect it may have something to do with the additional DotNet security (and in particular, explicit loading of assemblies, as this is something my app does). The reason I suspect this is that I have had to add to the config file the setting: <runtime> <loadFromRemoteSources enabled="true" /> </runtime> .. but I'm unsure if this is related. Update I see (from comments) that my basic code does not reproduce the issue by itself. Not surprising I suppose. It's going to be tricky to identify which part of a largish 3-tier CQS system is relevant to this problem. One issue might be that there are multiple assemblies involved. My static class is actually a factory provider, and the 'SomeClass' is a class factory (relevant in that the factories are 'registered' within the app via explicit assembly/type loading - see below) . Upfront I use reflection to 'register' all factories (i.e. classes that implement a particular interface) and that I do this when the app starts by identifying the relevant assemblies, loading them and adding them to a cache using (in essence): Loop over (file in files) { Assembly assembly = Assembly.LoadFile(file); baseAssemblyList.Add(assembly); } Then I cache the available types in these assemblies with: foreach (Assembly assembly in _loadedAssemblyList) { Type[] assemblyTypes = assembly.GetTypes(); _loadedTypesCache.AddRange(assemblyTypes); } And then I use this cache to do a variety of reflection operations, including 'registering' of factories, which involves looping through all loaded (cached) types and finding those that implement the (base) Factory interface. I've experienced what may be a similar problem in the past (.Net 3.5, so not exactly the same) with an architecture that involved dynamically creating classes on the server and streaming the compiled binary of those classes to the client app. The problem came when trying to deserialize an instance of the dynamic class on the client from a remote call: the exception said the class type was not know, even though the source and destination types were exactly the same name (including namespace). Basically the cross boundry versions of the class were not recognised as being the same. I solved that by intercepting the deserialization process and explicitly defining the deseriazation class type in the context of the local assemblies. This experience is what makes me think the types are considered mismatched because (somehow) the interface of the actual SomeClass object, and the interface of passed into the Generic method are not considered the same type. So (possibly) my question for those more knowledgable about C#/DotNet is: How does the class loading work that somehow my app thinks there are two versions/types of the interface type and how can I fit that? [ whew ... anyone who got here is quite patient .. thanks ]

  • What is the best free or low-cost Java reporting library (e.g. BIRT, JasperReports, etc.) for making

    - by Max3000
    I want to print, email and write to PDF very simple reports. The reports are basically a list of items, divided in various sections/columns. The sections are not necessarily identical. Think newspaper. I just wasted a solid 2 days of work trying to make this kind of reports using JasperReports. I find that Jasper is great for outputing "normalized" data. The kind that would come out of a database for instance, each row neatly describing an item and each item printed on a line. I'm simplifying a bit but that's the idea. However, given what I want to do I always ended up completely lost. Data not being displayed for no apparent reason, columns of texts never the correct size, column positioning always ending up incorrect, pagination not sanely possible (I was never able to figure it out; the FAQ gives an obscure workaround), etc. I came to the conclusion that Jasper is really not built to make the kind of reports I want. Am I missing something? I'm ready to pay for a tool, as long as the price is reasonable. By reasonable I mean a few $100s. Thanks. EDIT: To answer cetus, here is more information about the report I made in Jasper. What I want is something like this: text text text text ------------------- text | text text |---------- text | text text | text --------| text text |---------- text | text What I made in jasper is this: (detail band) subreport | subreport ------------------------------------ subreport | subreport ------------------------------------ subreport | subreport The subreports are all the same actual report. This report has one field (called "field") and basically just prints this field in a detail band. Hence, running a single subreport simply lists all items from the datasource. The datasource itself is a simple custom JRDatasource containing a collection of strings in the field "field". The datasource iterates over the collection until there are no more strings. Each subreport has its own datasource. I tried many different variations of the above, with all sorts of different properties for the report, subreports, etc. IMO, this is fairly simple stuff. However, the problems I encounter are as follows: Subreports starting from the 3rd don't show up when their position type is 'float'. They do show up when they have 'fix relative to top'. However, I don't want to do this because the first two subreports can be of any length. I can't make each subreport to stretch according to its own length. Instead, they either don't stretch at all (which is not desirable because they have different lenghts) or they stretch according to the longest subreport. This makes a weird layout for sure. Pagination doesn't happen. If some subreports fall outside the page, they simple don't show. One alternative is to increase the 'page height' considerably and the 'detail band height' accordingly. However, in this case it is not really possibly to know the total height in advance. So I'm stuck with calculating/guessing it myself, before the report is even generated. More importantly, long reports end up on one page and this is not acceptable (the printout text is too small, it's ugly/non-professional to have different reports with different PDF page lengths, etc.). BTW, I used iReport so it's possibly limitations of iReport I'm listing here and not of Jasper itself. That's one of the things I'm trying to find out asking this question here. One alternative would be to generate the jrxml myself with just static text but I'm afraid I'll encounter the very same limitations. Anyway, I just generally wasted so much time getting anything done with Jasper that I can't help thinking its not the right tool for the job. (Not to say that Jasper doesn't excel in what it's good at).
