  • MySQL Queries using Doctrine & CodeIgniter

    - by 01010011
    Hi, How do I write plane SQL queries using Doctrine connection object and display the results? For example, how do I perform: SELECT * FROM table_name WHERE column_name LIKE '%anything_similar_to_this%'; using Doctrine something like this (this example does not work) $search_key = 'search_for_this'; $conn = Doctrine_Manager::connection(); $conn->execute('SELECT * FROM table_name WHERE column_name LIKE ?)', $search_key); echo $conn;

  • Create Linework/Geometry Using Text Style in AutoCAD

    - by Kratz
I'm working in AutoCAD using the ObjectARX .Net API. Is there a way to either create text using lines/curves/polylines, or explode an existing text object into lines/ect? Prefereable I would like to be able to generate linework based on an exsiting AutoCAD text style. Edit: I was able to find the source for the TxtExp command here . However its in AutoCADs own Lisp language, and I can't make heads or tails of it.

  • Java serialization problem

    - by stefan89
I have two classes X and Y, like this: class X implements Serializable { int val1; Y val2; } class Y implements Serializable { int val; } I want to transmit an object of type X from a client to server but i can't because the class X has a field of type Y. I replaced the field of type Y with a field of type X in class X and it works.

  • Change background color when clicked textbox in C#

    - by jweinraub
I like for the textbox to change the background when the textbox has focus (if clicked with a mouse, tabbed into, etc). I don't like the textchange method since it won't change until one character has been added. private void txtFoo_OnGotFocus(object sender, EventArgs e) { txtFoo.BackColor = Color.LightYellow; txtBar.BackColor = Color.White; } This doesn't seem to work for me. What am I doing wrong?

  • BlockingQueue decorator that logs removed objects

    - by scompt.com
I have a BlockingQueue that's being used in a producer-consumer situation. I would like to decorate this queue so that every object that's taken from it is logged. I know what the straightforward implementation would look like: simply implement BlockingQueue and accept a BlockingQueue in the constructor to which all of the methods would delegate. Is there another way that I'm missing? A library perhaps? Something with a callback interface?

  • @Unique doesn't have any effect in DataNucleus w/ NeoDatis

    - by David Parks
Using JDO / DataNucleus / NeoDatis datastore I added @Unique to a field of a persistable object, however I am allowed to create multiple objects which violate the unique constraint. The docs for DataNucleus/NeoDatis suggest that Unique fields are supported. @PersistenceCapable public class User { @Persistent @Unique private String username; //... } If I add multiple objects to the DB with the same username there's no problem doing so. :(

  • Template class + virtual function = must implement?

    - by sold
This code: template <typename T> struct A { T t; void DoSomething() { t.SomeFunction(); } }; struct B { }; A<B> a; is easily compiled without any complaints, as long as I never call a.DoSomething(). However, if I define DoSomething as a virtual function, I will get a compile error saying that B doesn't declare SomeFunction. I can somewhat see why it happens (DoSomething should now have an entry in the vtable), but I can't help feeling that it's not really obligated. Plus it sucks. Is there any way to overcome this? EDIT 2: Okay. I hope this time it makes sence: Let's say I am doing intrusive ref count, so all entities must inherit from base class Object. How can I suuport primitive types too? I can define: template <typename T> class Primitive : public Object { T value; public: Primitive(const T &value=T()); operator T() const; Primitive<T> &operator =(const T &value); Primitive<T> &operator +=(const T &value); Primitive<T> &operator %=(const T &value); // And so on... }; so I can use Primitive<int>, Primitive<char>... But how about Primitive<float>? It seems like a problem, because floats don't have a %= operator. But actually, it isn't, since I'll never call operator %= on Primitive<float>. That's one of the deliberate features of templates. If, for some reason, I would define operator %= as virtual. Or, if i'll pre-export Primitive<float> from a dll to avoid link errors, the compiler will complain even if I never call operator %= on a Primitive<float>. If it would just have fill in a dummy value for operator %= in Primitive<float>'s vtable (that raises an exception?), everything would have been fine.

  • How would you convert a String to a Java string literal?

    - by Simon Nickerson
This is sort of the Java analogue of this question about C#. Suppose I have a String object which I want to represent in code and I want to produce a string literal that maps to the same thing. I was just about to write a state machine that ingests the string character by character and escapes appropriately, but then I wondered if there was a better way, or a library that provides a function to do this.

  • Best way to have common class shared by both C++ and Ruby?

    - by shuttle87
I am currently working on a project where a team of us are designing a game, all of us are proficient in ruby and some (but not all) of us are proficient in c++. Initially we made the backend in ruby but we ported it to c++ for more speed. The c++ port of the backend has exactly the same features and algorithms as the original ruby code. However we still have a bunch of code in ruby that does useful things but we want it to now get the data from the c++ classes. Our first thought was that we could save some of the data structures in something like XML or redis and call that, but some of the developers don't like that idea. We don't need anything particularly complex data structures to be passed between the different parts of the code, just tuples, strings and ints. Is there any way of integrating the ruby code so that it can call the c++ stuff natively? Will we need to embed code? Will we have to make a ruby extension? If so are there any good resources/tutorials you could suggest? For example say we have this code in the c++ backend: class The_game{ private: bool printinfo; //print the player diagnostic info at the beginning if true int numplayers; std::vector<Player*> players; string current_action; int action_is_on; // the index of the player in the players array that the action is now on //more code here public: Table(std::vector<Player *> in_players, std::vector<Statistics *> player_stats ,const int in_numplayers); ~Table(); void play_game(); History actions_history; }; class History{ private: int action_sequence_number; std::vector<Action*> hand_actions; public: void print_history(); void add_action(Action* the_action_to_be_added); int get_action_sequence_number(){ return action_sequence_number;} bool history_actions_are_equal(); int last_action_size(int street, int number_of_actions_ago); History(); ~History(); }; Is there any way to natively call something in the actions_history via The_game object in ruby? (The objects in the original ruby code all had the same names and functionality) By this I mean: class MyRubyClass def method1(arg1) puts arg1 self.f() # ... but still available puts cpp_method.the_current_game.actions_history.get_action_sequence_number() end # Constructor: def initialize(arg) puts "In constructor with arg #{arg}" #get the c++ object here and call it cpp_method end end Is this possible? Any advice or suggestions are appreciated.

  • Thread-safe equivalent to python's time.strptime() ?

    - by Wells
Something I wrote throws a lot of AttributeErrors when using time.strptime() inside a thread. This only seems to happen on Windows (not on Linux), but whatever…. Upon a'Googling, it seems that time.strptime() isn't considered thread-safe. Is there a better way to create a datetime object from a string? Current code looks like: val = DateFromTicks(mktime(strptime(val, '%B %d, %Y'))) But, that yields the AttributeErrors as its run inside a thread. Thanks!

  • dojo dgrid tree, subrows in wrong position

    - by Ventura
I have a dgrid, working with tree column plugin. Every time that the user click on the tree, I call the server, catch the subrows(json) and bind it. But when it happens, these subrows are show in wrong position, like the image bellow. The most strange is when I change the pagination, after go back to first page, the subrows stay on the correct place. (please, tell me if is possible to understand my english, then I can try to improve the text) My dgrid code: var CustomGrid = declare([OnDemandGrid, Keyboard, Selection, Pagination]); var grid = new CustomGrid({ columns: [ selector({label: "#", disabled: function(object){ return object.type == 'DOCx'; }}, "radio"), {label:'Id', field:'id', sortable: false}, tree({label: "Title", field:"title", sortable: true, indentWidth:20, allowDuplicates:true}), //{label:'Title', field:'title', sortable: false}, {label:'Count', field:'count', sortable: false} ], store: this.memoryStore, collapseOnRefresh:true, pagingLinks: false, pagingTextBox: true, firstLastArrows: true, pageSizeOptions: [10, 15, 25], selectionMode: "single", // for Selection; only select a single row at a time cellNavigation: false // for Keyboard; allow only row-level keyboard navigation }, "grid"); My memory store: loadMemoryStore: function(items){ this.memoryStore = Observable(new Memory({ data: items, getChildren: function(parent, options){ return this.query({parent: parent.id}, options); }, mayHaveChildren: function(parent){ return (parent.count != 0) && (parent.type != 'DOC'); } })); }, This moment I am binding the subrows: success: function(data){ for(var i=0; i<data.report.length; i++){ this.memoryStore.put({id:data.report[i].id, title:data.report[i].created, type:'DOC', parent:this.designId}); } }, I was thinking, maybe every moment that I bind the subrows, I could do like a refresh on the grid, maybe works. I think that the pagination does the same thing. Thanks. edit: I forgot the question. Well, How can I correct this bug? If The refresh in dgrid works. How can I do it? Other thing that I was thinking, maybe my getChildren is wrong, but I could not identify it. thanks again.

  • how to watch input buttons with specified name?

    - by user393087
For example I have long list of buttons: <input type=button name=clickbutton onclick='dosomething(this)'> But instead of putting call to the same funcion in every button it would be more rational to add a single listening event that would wait for click of that button with this name. But again, there are maany this buttons so I need pass clicked object to a function. For example this function must update a textarea field that is adjacent (nextSibling) to this button.

  • Implication of (not) rethrowing exception after logging

    - by dotnetdev
Hi, In a team environment, if I handle an exception (like so): protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { this.exTest(); } public void exTest() { try { throw new Exception("sjsj"); } catch (Exception ex) { string s = ex.Message; throw; } } What is the implication of not rethrowing the exception (throw)? Even without the keyword the custom error settings in web.config are used (redirection to specified page). Thanks

  • Data Annotations validation Built into model

    - by Josh
I want to build an object model that automatically wires in validation when I attempt to save an object. I am using DataAnnotations for my validation, and it all works well, but I think my inheritance is whacked. I am looking here for some guidance on a better way to wire in my validation. So, to build in validation I have this interface public interface IValidatable { bool IsValid { get; } ValidationResponse ValidationResults { get; } void Validate(); } Then, I have a base class that all my objects inherit from. I did a class because I wanted to wire in the validation calls automatically. The issue is that the validation has to know the type of the class is it validating. So I use Generics like so. public class CoreObjectBase<T> : IValidatable where T : CoreObjectBase<T> { #region IValidatable Members public virtual bool IsValid { get { // First, check rules that always apply to this type var result = new Validator<T>().Validate((T)this); // return false if any violations occurred return !result.HasViolations; } } public virtual ValidationResponse ValidationResults { get { var result = new Validator<T>().Validate((T)this); return result; } } public virtual void Validate() { // First, check rules that always apply to this type var result = new Validator<T>().Validate((T)this); // throw error if any violations were detected if (result.HasViolations) throw new RulesException(result.Errors); } #endregion } So, I have this circular inheritance statement. My classes look like this then: public class MyClass : CoreObjectBase<MyClass> { } But the problem occurs when I have a more complicated model. Because I can only inherit from one class, when I have a situation where inheritance makes sense I believe the child classes won't have validation on their properties. public class Parent : CoreObjectBase<Parent> { //properties validated } public class Child : Parent { //properties not validated? } I haven't really tested the validation in these cases yet, but I am pretty sure that anything in child with a data annotation on it will not be automatically validated when I call Child.Validate(); due to the way the inheritance is configured. Is there a better way to do this?

  • method implementation for this case in Java

    - by Thomas
Hello, I just saw a code snippet like this: private static class DefaultErrorHandler<RT> implements ErrorHandler<RT> { public RT handle(Object[] params, Throwable e) { return Exceptions.throwUncheckedException(e); } Now I am wondering what the static method "throwUncheckedException (Throwable e)" would return exactly and how it might be implemented regarding the generics. Can anybody give me an example ?

  • Zend_Registry: real life examples

    - by takeshin
Do you find Zend_Registry useful? For which tasks it should be used? For which not? Global state for variables is not a good practice. Main objects may have global state injected via $front->setParam('paramName', $object), so what's the purpose of Zend_Registry?.
