  • C#: Installing a new version over old version

    I have a deployment project which will not let me install over an older version. The msi file says to uninstall the program first from Add/Remove programs. This is not a good user experience. How can I do it so that the installer will simply remove the software first and then install the new version?

    Strange conflict in my code. I have function that called from body onload: var someGlobalVar=new SpecialType(); function OnBodyLoad() { someGlobalVar.Bind(); } but when i include JQuery 1.4.2 to my project i have error that someGlobalVar is undefined. Why global variable now is undefined and what ways to fix it?

    Hi All, In my silverlight project I have a Context Menu (right click menu) that I want to close it if I click anywhere outside it. I add handler to the click event on App: AddHandler App.Current.RootVisual.MouseLeftButtonDown, AddressOf HideMenu But the problem that: it does not enter the Handler when I click on any other command, or click on the same control that have the context menu, it is enter only when I click on an empty area outside the menu. That after you struggled with something tedious/annoying/frustrating, you learned one small thing and said "oh, I could've done that?!"? My example - I once suffered through an entire tedious semester of HTML in Notepad... only to discover Notepad++ (and DreamWeaver, IDEs, etc.) a couple of days after submitting the final project.

    Hi, I use Visual Studio 2008 and Perforce. When I bind my project to perforce(File - Source Control - Change Source Control - Bind), Visual Studio complain like "~.vspscc File is not under source control". Should I create that file for myself, or is that file created by Visual Studio? If it is created by Visual Studio, why does it complain about it? Thanks in advance.

    Hi! Got the following warning output when using GCC 4.5.0 & MinGW. Warning: .drectve `-aligncomm:___CTOR_LIST__,2 ' unrecognized Warning: .drectve `-aligncomm:___DTOR_LIST__,2' unrecognized What does it mean? I guess it's version-specific, because GCC 4.3.4 under cygwin didn't give that warning on the same project. If anyone had the following output (just curious that's that about), please advise me what to do.
