• Any Way to monitor JMX Servers with NetIq ?

  I ask this question after a search in the site, there's many JMX questions but I think no one with a NetIq involved. In the documentation of NetIq, There's no "module" to check JMX, but I have seen that u can make "custom" modules and "custom" scripts, in Perl and VbScript. The question is if anyone with more experience than me on NetIq, has made any custom script or module to check JMX. I look on technet too, for a JMX Api for Windos Shell or Powershell with no luck. Of course, JMX is much more powerfull, but what I really need is to "monitor" some values inside NetIq, because we cant install Nagios, Cacti, Hyperic or any other monitor software but NetIq. Thanks.

• Firefox does not print flash content

  I am using Firefox 3.6.15 on a Windows 7 Professional, 64-bit Operating System, Intel Core i7 CPU, 3.33GHz, 10BG RAM, by Hewlett-Packard. Firefox does not print flash content, aka swf objects, nor does it show them in the print preview pane...I want to print out the entire web page with the flash content. I seem to only be able to see flash and html content together in print preview and to print in IE8. I have tried to google this issue, but could not find a solution. I was trying to print preview/print out the following site: http://www.discovertheponds.com/. Flash content will display in print preview and print in IE8, but neither print preview or print in Firefox. I have also updated the Java on my computer to the most recent update, and ran the firefox plug-in checker at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/ . I do run Firebug and Web Developer, but have currently disabled them. Is this problem on my end, meaning some issue with my computer...or is this because of how the website was programmed in HTML/Flash...or is this a bug with Firefox? I am a website designer and am also concerned that others will not be able print sites I develop or have already developed that have flash content from Firefox. I used to think Firefox was better than IE at everything. What happened here? Was it some change in Firefox's version that caused this problem?

• Pinnacle Studio 14 Importer crashes on Windows 7 x64

  Pinnacle Studio 14 Importer crashes on Windows 7 x64, thus I'm unable to import videos from my camcorder. I've Googled around and it seems to be a problem with x64 support in the program, but there is no info if it can somehow be remedied with Compatibility settings, XP mode. Further Googling got me this link, and none of the tips in site it links help. I've got no idea what ObjectDoct Plus 2 is (no a program or service installed by that name) which he claims causes the problem. Is that ObjectDoct critical to Pinnacle Studio and how to get rid of it (or any other advice how to make Studio 14 work on x64). UPDATE: 1) XP mode doesn't help as it doesn't handle Firewire, which is how my Canon HV20 must be connected to transfer HDV from tape. 2) I don't have that ObjectDock installed. 3) I don't wanna re-buy PS15 just to get this solved as PS14 should be able to do it.

  Are you kidding me? What a load of nutritional CRAP. Don’t buy this product. Just don’t do it. They are just like Wheaties with more sugar and fat. Awesome just what we need more sugar!! Okay now I’m not against carbs… I’m really not. Being a cyclist I realize the importance of carbohydrates in the diet… but let’s be realistic here. Even though the commercials for Wheaties Fuel say they are for athletes you know that what General Mills is really hoping for is that kids will see Payton Manning, Albert Pujols and KG and buy this cereal and eat a ton of it for breakfast. Sad, really. I’ve watched all the videos and read all the propaganda on the Wheaties Fuel web site and no where do they talk about why they added sugar and fat the original Wheaties. There is a lot of double-speak by Dr. Ivy about “understanding the needs of athletes.” I had to laugh – in one of the videos Dr. Ivy even says that he thinks the "new Wheaties will have even more fiber! Wrong! My bad... there is 5g of fiber not 3g per serving. Just  Way more sugar. • Nginx + PHP-FPM executes script, but returns 404

  I am using Nginx + PHP-FPM to run a Wordpress based site. I have a URL that should return dynamically generated JSON data for use with the DataTables jQuery plugin. The data is returned properly, but with a return code of 404. I think this is a Nginx config issue, but I haven't been able to figure out why. The script 'getTable.php' works properly on the production version of the site which is currently using Apache. Anyone know how I can get this to work on Nginx? • Setting up Splunk/IronPort WSA

  I recently stumbled across Splunk 4 (by way of an advert on this very site...) and found that it had an "App" that's designed to work with Cisco IronPort WebSecurity and E-Mail Appliances! That's really awesome, because good IronPort reporting is something our IT-dept. is looking for. Anyways - I'm totally lost on how to configure this thing. I've googled like a mad-man to find a guide or such like - but I haven't found anything. Has anyone here set up IP / Splunk? Any tips/pointers?

  Windows Azure is a platform that allows you to write software, run software, or use software that we've already written. We provide lots of resources to help you do that - many can be found right here in this blog series. There are two primary resources you can use, and it's important to understand what they are and what they do. The Windows Azure Software Development Kit (SDK) Actually, this isn't one resource. We have SDK's for multiple development environments, such as Visual Studio and also Eclipse, along with SDK's for iOS, Android and other environments. Windows Azure is a "back end", so almost any technology or front end system can use it to solve a problem. The SDK's are primarily for development. In the case of Visual Studio, you'll get a runtime environment for Windows Azure which allows you to develop, test and even run code all locally - you do not have to be connected to Windows Azure at all, until you're ready to deploy.   I read this interesting article on using PowerShell and the registry, and thought I would modify his information a bit to list the SQL Server Instances on a box. The interesting thing about listing instances this was is that you can touch remote machines, find the instances when they are off and so on. • fills password and enters program automatically

  I am running Windows 7. In Internet Explorer 9, when I visit a webpage and enter a password it is automatically remembered. When I leave the site and return again at another time, the password is filled in automatically. I would like to stop this behavior. I do not not think that it is an auto fill problem. I think it may be related to an addon provided by my OEM and published by Authentic called "Truesuite Website Log On". How can I confirm that Truesuite is the culprit? How can I stop passwords from being filled in automatically.

• no dual screens with 11.10 and Asus m4A89 GTD Pro

  I'm having an issue getting dual monitors working for Kubuntu 11.10. I have Asus m4A89 GTD pro/USB3 mother board with integrated Ati HD4290 graphics chip. When I try to enable multiple monitors through the system settings, it says "This module is only for configuring systems with a single desktop spread across multiple monitors. You do not appear to have this configuration." I had previously attempted to fix this problem with another installation of Ubuntu 11.10, but ended up having to reinstall ubuntu because i messed up the software center dependencies. After I installed Ubuntu the first time, a notification showed up asking me to install an Ati graphics driver. I installed this driver, then restarted, and dual monitors did not work. That was when I went to the ATI site and attempted to install the fglrx driver. When I tried to run the shell script for the fglrx driver, it said i had a previous version of an fglrx driver installed, and needed to remove it in order to install the new one. So I looked up some tutorial on how to remove it and found some apt-get remove command, which i ran. Then I was able to install the new driver. Dual monitors still did not work, and i couldn't use the software center any more because it was corrupted and was unable to repair itself. So i just reinstalled ubuntu, and now i'm trying to go about this the correct way. Does anyone have this same configuration and which driver works for you?

• Attempting to migrate to Aptana from Dreamweaver - how to?

  I have been using Dreamweaver for years, and have used Dreamweaver MX, Dreamweaver MX 2004, Dreamweaver 8 & Dreamweaver CS4. They all carry a common theme and were relatively easy to migrate to each other. I use, however, very few features of dreamweaver. Specifically: Syntax highlighting Telesense FTP management/site management The search/replace The idea I get from Aptana is its much more geared toward the web development/programmer side of things, have better visualizations of classes, etc., and handle everything else just as well. The problem is it is not at all clear to me. I managed to start a new project, but it didn't associate it with an FTP. So, I created an FTP, and it looks like I can have many FTPs for one project. My question then is, is there a tutorial or guide to migrating to Aptana from a Dreamweavor's perspective?

• How do I tell logrotate what files to rotate with cron?

  On my webserver I have this file: /etc/logrotate.d/apache2 I know it is logrotating /var/log/apache2/.log, but if I want to add things that are in /usr/home/www/site1/logs/.log do I just duplicate everything below and stick that line in there? Each time I add a new site do I need to manually add lines to this file? • Media Temple-like hosting services?

  I have a couple of wordpress sites which do not get much traffic now, but I plan on expanding to something like a 1000-2000visits/day in a year or two. Media Temple has some really nice offerings, but their Wordpress plan is 20/month...which is a little too much, seeing as at this point my site is more of a hobby than a money making machine. I currently host with HostGator (just switched from GodaddyiPageBluehost). All these cheaper/pop hosting services are okay, but it would be nice to find something a little bit more "premium", but at a lower cost than MT. Anyone know anything worth looking at?

• MSSQL 2008 License for both Web application and desktop application [closed]

  I have ASP.NET web application using MSSQL express at the moment. But I want to use MSSQL 2008. But I'm NOT sure about what kind of license I should buy. I'm considering the Processor License according to this document. I'm not sure if it's the right choice. If I buy User CAL. should I buy only 1 CAL for my web application? or for all visitors who visit my web site? I also have a Windows desktop application that write/read data from the server. Do I need a seperate license with for this Windows application if I buy Processor License. Thank you for suggestion.

• Revamped Google Webmaster Tools

  With a positive surprise I realized today that Google's Webmaster Tools had some minor overhauling and provide some more details than before. Most obvious are the changes on the dashboard where the Top Search Queries now provide information about impressions and clicktroughs instead of the rankings before. Only the links of the search expressions are missing. It seems that the Top search queries were in the focus of this update. The section is now spiced with detailed graphs about what happened during selectable periods on your site. Well, seems that the Webmaster Tools mimic a stripped-down version of Google Analytics... I was very pleased by the details that are offered when you click on a single query term. Really nice to see the search rankings and your responsible URLs at the same time. Before, you had to put two browser instances side-by-side to achieve this kind of overview. Personally, I like the approach to visualize statistics the way Google or other providers do. It gives you a quick and informative overview, and enables you to dig further into details about peaks and lows on your visits, page impressions or clickthroughs.

• How to enable extended logging for classic asp on IIS7 on Windows 2008 R2

  I had to deploy an application that was not written by me onto the above configuration. It is a rather bizarre hybrid of asp.net and classic asp and it's the classic asp that is proving troublesome. The client is having problems with 500 Internal Server Errors appearing and I can see some of these in the logs but I only get the error code and the page name but little else. What I would like to see is the actual error message to at least give me an idea what is going on (or not going on, depending on your point of view) I don't want to display errors in the browser as I don't know the code well enough and this could (for all I know) display some crazy code where the db password is hard-coded into the site.

  Can I use adsutil.vbs to remove the 'X—Powered-By' response header from IIS6 configuration? We have a site that is running IIS6. Migration to IIS7 is a few months away at least. In the mean time, I have noticed that it is serving the header X—Powered-By: ASP.NET on all responses. I want this gone, and I would strongly prefer to script this so that future deployments also ensure that the header is not present. Is there a way to do this using adsutil.vbs?

• How to remove a partition on a USB drive?

  I got a free promotional USB stick that I want to format for my own purposes. When I inserted it, it automatically opened a browser and launched a web site. I have since disabled autoplay on this computer so that nothing launches when the stick is inserted. But it still shows up as two separate drives, and one of them is a "CD Drive" that I can't format. How can a USB stick contain a "CD Drive?" And more to the point, how can I remove this partition using Windows XP or Ubuntu? Update I previously asked for an XP solution, but finding none, I have tried Ubuntu, also without success. Gparted doesn't see the "CD" portion as a device at all, and from bash, any chmod changes I try tell me that the file system is read-only. Any ideas?

  I'm trying to turn keep-alive connections off for a requests to a child folder in Apache, but when I reload the config I get the following error: KeepAlive not allowed here Here's my vhost config: <VirtualHost *:80> ServerAdmin [email protected] ServerName example.com DocumentRoot /srv/www/mysite DirectoryIndex index.html <Location /subfolder> KeepAlive Off </Location> </VirtualHost> I've tried using <Directory> as well, but no go there either. Any ideas? I'd rather not turn keep-alive off for the whole site...

• gentoo install error

  i installed gentoo by the handbook from official site , when i got into the step 7.b. Installing the Sources , the book says :Code Listing 2.2: Viewing the kernel source symlink, When you take a look in /usr/src you should see a symlink called linux pointing to your kernel source. but ,in my virtualbox, there is no such file! ,only a linux-3..3.38-gentoo directory in the src and when i tried to use cd linux-3.3.38-gentoo and make menuconfig , an error occured , init/Kconfig:389: can't open file "kernel/irq/Kconfig" how can i solve the problem?
