  • Uploading XML with NSInputStream Iphone....

    - by Aks
Hi, I have to upload XML string to server & the Web service expect it in body stream part of the http request. So i am allocating the NSInputstream instance with xml data & then setting it the part of the http string but it uploading the stream body NULL & in my code if check the Stream status, it gives error & size null, Could you let me know how to get it done , also pasting the code. Code: NSInputStream* stream = [[[NSInputStream alloc]initWithData:streamData]retain]; request=[NSMutableURLRequest requestWithURL:[NSURL URLWithString:nss_url]]; NSString *msgLength = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%d", [message length]]; [request addValue: @"text/xml; charset=utf-8" forHTTPHeaderField:@"Content-Type"]; [request addValue: @"http://www.XYZ.COM/ACL" forHTTPHeaderField:@"SOAPAction"]; [request addValue: msgLength forHTTPHeaderField:@"Content-Length"]; [request setHTTPBodyStream:[NSInputStream inputStreamWithData:streamData]]; [request setHTTPMethod:@"POST"]; NSLog(@"The input stream is %@ & error is %@",[stream streamStatus],[stream streamError]); Its gives: The input stream is (null) & error is Error Domain=NSUnknownErrorDomain Code=0 "Operation could not be completed. • How do I use Google's Gson API to deserialize JSON properly?

    - by FK82
Hi, In short, this is a sketch of the JSON object I want to parse in JAVA: { object1: { item1: //[String | Array | Object] , item2: // ... //<> more items object2: { // } //<> more objects } These are the POJO s I created for parsing (I'll leave out the import statements for brevity's sake): (1) The representation of the complete JSON object public class JObjectContainer { private List<JObject> jObjects ; public JObjectContainer() { // } //get & set methods } (2) The representation of the nested objects: public class JObject { private String id ; private List<JNode> jObjects ; public JObject() { // } //get & set methods } (3) The representation of the items: public class JNode { private JsonElement item1 ; private JsonElement item2 ; //<> more item fields public JNode() { // } //get & set methods } Now, creating a Gson instance (FileReader for importing the jsonFile), Gson gson = new Gson() ; JObjectContainer joc = gson(jsonFile,JObjectContainer.class) ; I get a NullPointerException whenever I try to access the parseable object (e.g. through a ListIterator). Gson does however create an object of the class I specified and does not throw any subsequent errors. I know that this has been done before. So, what am I missing? TIA

  • Reducing Time Complexity in Java

    - by Koeneuze
Right, this is from an older exam which i'm using to prepare my own exam in january. We are given the following method: public static void Oorspronkelijk() { String bs = "Dit is een boodschap aan de wereld"; int max = -1; char let = '*'; for (int i=0;i<bs.length();i++) { int tel = 1; for (int j=i+1;j<bs.length();j++) { if (bs.charAt(j) == bs.charAt(i)) tel++; } if (tel > max) { max = tel; let = bs.charAt(i); } } System.out.println(max + " keer " + let); } The questions are: what is the output? - Since the code is just an algorithm to determine the most occuring character, the output is "6 keer " (6 times space) What is the time complexity of this code? Fairly sure it's O(n²), unless someone thinks otherwise? Can you reduce the time complexity, and if so, how? Well, you can. I've received some help already and managed to get the following code: public static void Nieuw() { String bs = "Dit is een boodschap aan de wereld"; HashMap<Character, Integer> letters = new HashMap<Character, Integer>(); char max = bs.charAt(0); for (int i=0;i<bs.length();i++) { char let = bs.charAt(i); if(!letters.containsKey(let)) { letters.put(let,0); } int tel = letters.get(let)+1; letters.put(let, tel); if(letters.get(max)<tel) { max = let; } } System.out.println(letters.get(max) + " keer " + max); } However, I'm uncertain of the time complexity of this new code: Is it O(n) because you only use one for-loop, or does the fact we require the use of the HashMap's get methods make it O(n log n) ? And if someone knows an even better way of reducing the time complexity, please do tell! :)

  • Can parser combinators be made efficient?

    - by Jon Harrop
    Around 6 years ago, I benchmarked my own parser combinators in OCaml and found that they were ~5× slower than the parser generators on offer at the time. I recently revisited this subject and benchmarked Haskell's Parsec vs a simple hand-rolled precedence climbing parser written in F# and was surprised to find the F# to be 25× faster than the Haskell. Here's the Haskell code I used to read a large mathematical expression from file, parse and evaluate it: import Control.Applicative import Text.Parsec hiding ((<|>)) expr = chainl1 term ((+) <$ char '+' <|> (-) <$ char '-') term = chainl1 fact ((*) <$ char '*' <|> div <$ char '/') fact = read <$> many1 digit <|> char '(' *> expr <* char ')' eval :: String -> Int eval = either (error . show) id . parse expr "" . filter (/= ' ') main :: IO () main = do file <- readFile "expr" putStr $ show $ eval file putStr "\n" and here's my self-contained precedence climbing parser in F#: let rec (|Expr|) (P(f, xs)) = Expr(loop (' ', f, xs)) and loop = function | ' ' as oop, f, ('+' | '-' as op)::P(g, xs) | (' ' | '+' | '-' as oop), f, ('*' | '/' as op)::P(g, xs) -> let h, xs = loop (op, g, xs) let op = match op with | '+' -> (+) | '-' -> (-) | '*' -> (*) | '/' -> (/) loop (oop, op f h, xs) | _, f, xs -> f, xs and (|P|) = function | '('::Expr(f, ')'::xs) -> P(f, xs) | c::xs when '0' <= c && c <= '9' -> P(int(string c), xs) My impression is that even state-of-the-art parser combinators waste a lot of time back tracking. Is that correct? If so, is it possible to write parser combinators that generate state machines to obtain competitive performance or is it necessary to use code generation?

  • How do I get column names to print in this C# program?

    - by Kevin
    I've cobbled together a C# program that takes a .csv file and writes it to a datatable. Using this program, I can loop through each row of the data table and print out the information contained in the row. The console output looks like this: --- Row --- Item: 1 Item: 545 Item: 507 Item: 484 Item: 501 I'd like to print the column name beside each value, as well, so that it looks like this: --- Row --- Item: 1 Hour Item: 545 Day1 KW Item: 507 Day2 KW Item: 484 Day3 KW Item: 501 Day4 KW Can someone look at my code and tell me what I can add so that the column names will print? I am very new to C#, so please forgive me if I've overlooked something. Here is my code: // Write load_forecast data to datatable. DataTable loadDT = new DataTable(); StreamReader sr = new StreamReader(@"c:\load_forecast.csv"); string[] headers = sr.ReadLine().Split(','); foreach (string header in headers) { loadDT.Columns.Add(header); // I've added the column headers here. } while (sr.Peek() > 0) { DataRow loadDR = loadDT.NewRow(); loadDR.ItemArray = sr.ReadLine().Split(','); loadDT.Rows.Add(loadDR); } foreach (DataRow row in loadDT.Rows) { Console.WriteLine("--- Row ---"); foreach (var item in row.ItemArray) { Console.Write("Item:"); Console.WriteLine(item); // Can I add something here to also print the column names? } }

  • ASP.NET DropDownList posting ""

    - by Daniel
I am using ASP.NET forms version 3.5 in VB I have a dropdownlist that is filled with data from a DB with a list of countries The code for the dropdown list is <label class="ob_label"> <asp:DropDownList ID="lstCountry" runat="server" CssClass="ob_forminput"> </asp:DropDownList> Country*</label> And the code that the list is Dim selectSQL As String = "exec dbo.*******************" ' Define the ADO.NET objects. Dim con As New SqlConnection(connectionString) Dim cmd As New SqlCommand(selectSQL, con) Dim reader As SqlDataReader ' Try to open database and read information. Try con.Open() reader = cmd.ExecuteReader() ' For each item, add the author name to the displayed ' list box text, and store the unique ID in the Value property. Do While reader.Read() Dim newItem As New ListItem() newItem.Text = reader("AllSites_Countries_Name") newItem.Value = reader("AllSites_Countries_Id") CType(LoginViewCart.FindControl("lstCountry"), DropDownList).Items.Add(newItem) Loop reader.Close() CType(LoginViewCart.FindControl("lstCountry"), DropDownList).SelectedValue = 182 Catch Err As Exception Response.Redirect("~/error-on-page/") MailSender.SendMailMessage("*********************", "", "", OrangeBoxSiteId.SiteName & " Error Catcher", "<p>Error in sub FillCountry</p><p>Error on page:" & HttpContext.Current.Request.Url.AbsoluteUri & "</p><p>Error details: " & Err.Message & "</p>") Response.Redirect("~/error-on-page/") Finally con.Close() End Try When the form is submitted an error occurs which says that the string "" cannot be converted to the datatype integer. For some reason the dropdownlist is posting "" rather than the value for the selected country.

  • Hibernate query for multiple items in a collection

    - by aarestad
I have a data model that looks something like this: public class Item { private List<ItemAttribute> attributes; // other stuff } public class ItemAttribute { private String name; private String value; } (this obviously simplifies away a lot of the extraneous stuff) What I want to do is create a query to ask for all Items with one OR MORE particular attributes, ideally joined with arbitrary ANDs and ORs. Right now I'm keeping it simple and just trying to implement the AND case. In pseudo-SQL (or pseudo-HQL if you would), it would be something like: select all items where attributes contains(ItemAttribute(name="foo1", value="bar1")) AND attributes contains(ItemAttribute(name="foo2", value="bar2")) The examples in the Hibernate docs didn't seem to address this particular use case, but it seems like a fairly common one. The disjunction case would also be useful, especially so I could specify a list of possible values, i.e. where attributes contains(ItemAttribute(name="foo", value="bar1")) OR attributes contains(ItemAttribute(name="foo", value="bar2")) -- etc. Here's an example that works OK for a single attribute: return getSession().createCriteria(Item.class) .createAlias("itemAttributes", "ia") .add(Restrictions.conjunction() .add(Restrictions.eq("ia.name", "foo")) .add(Restrictions.eq("ia.attributeValue", "bar"))) .list(); Learning how to do this would go a long ways towards expanding my understanding of Hibernate's potential. :)

  • Parsing JSON with GSON

    - by Donn Felker
I'm having some trouble with GSON, mainly deserializing from JSON to a POJO. I have the following JSON: { "events": [ { "event": { "id": 628374485, "title": "Developing for the Windows Phone" } }, { "event": { "id": 765432, "title": "Film Makers Meeting" } } ] } With the following POJO's ... public class EventSearchResult { private List<EventSearchEvent> events; public List<EventSearchEvent> getEvents() { return events; } } public class EventSearchEvent { private int id; private String title; public int getId() { return id; } public String getTitle() { return title; } } ... and I'm deserializing with the following code, where json input is the json above Gson gson = new Gson(); return gson.fromJson(jsonInput, EventSearchResult.class); However, I cannot get the list of events to populate correctly. The title and id are always null. I'm sure I'm missing something, but I'm not sure what. Any idea? Thanks

  • .NET 4.0 Implementing OutputCacheProvider

    - by azamsharp
I am checking out the OutputCacheProvider in ASP.NET 4.0 and using it to store my output cache into the MongoDb database. I am not able to understand the purpose of Add method which is one of the override methods for OutputCacheProvider. The Add method is invoked when you have VaryByParam set to something. So, if I have VaryByParam = "id" then the Add method will be invoked. But after the Add the Set is also invoked and I can insert into the MongoDb database inside the Set method. public override void Set(string key, object entry, DateTime utcExpiry) { // if there is something in the query and use the path and query to generate the key var url = HttpContext.Current.Request.Url; if (!String.IsNullOrEmpty(url.Query)) { key = url.PathAndQuery; } Debug.WriteLine("Set(" + key + "," + entry + "," + utcExpiry + ")"); _service.Set(new CacheItem() { Key = MD5(key), Item = entry, Expires = utcExpiry }); } Inside the Set method I use the PathAndQuery to get the params of the QueryString and then do a MD5 on the key and save it into the MongoDb database. It seems like the Add method will be useful if I am doing something like VaryByParam = "custom" or something. Can anyone shed some light on the Add method of OutputCacheProvider?

  • InvalidCastException from selecting ListBoxItem's Contents

    - by Dan
My ListBoxItems contain multiple TextBoxes like this: <ListBox Name="myList" SelectionChanged="myList_SelectionChanged"> <ListBox.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <ListBoxItem> <ListBoxItem.Content> <StackPanel Orientation="Vertical"> <TextBlock Name="nameTextBlock" Text="{Binding Name}" /> <TextBlock Name="ageTextBlock" Text="{Binding Age}" /> <TextBlock Name="genderTextBlock" Text="{Binding Gender}" /> <TextBlock Name="heightTextBlock" Text="{Binding Height}" /> </StackPanel> </ListBoxItem.Content> </ListBoxItem> </DataTemplate> </ListBox.ItemTemplate> </ListBox> When an item is clicked, I would like each TextBlock to be saved to IsolatedStorage under corresponding keys. Right now the closest I've gotten to this method is this: private void mysList_SelectionChanged(object sender, SelectionChangedEventArgs e) { ListBoxItem lbi = (ListBoxItem)myList.SelectedItem; appSettings["name"] = (string)lbi.Content; } But, when clicked I get an InvalidCastException. As I understand it, it's basically due to me trying to convert all four textboxes into a single string (or something like that). So how do I save each TextBox's text field independently within the ListBoxItem to an IsolatedStorage key/value? Thanks again in advance.

(btw i def want to know how to do that as well.)

  • special debugging lines (java)

    - by David
Recently i've found myself writing a lot of methods with what i can only think to call debugging scaffolding. Here's an example: public static void printArray (String[] array, boolean bug) { for (int i = 0; i<array.lenght; i++) { if (bug) System.out.print (i) ; //this line is what i'm calling the debugging scaffolding i guess. System.out.println(array[i]) ; } } in this method if i set bug to true, wherever its being called from maybe by some kind of user imput, then i get the special debugging text to let me know what index the string being printed as at just in case i needed to know for the sake of my debugging (pretend a state of affairs exists where its helpful). All of my questions more or less boil down to the question: is this a good idea? but with a tad bit more objectivity: Is this an effective way to test my methods and debug them? i mean effective in terms of efficiency and not messing up my code. Is it acceptable to leave the if (bug) stuff ; code in place after i've got my method up and working? (if a definition of "acceptability" is needed to make this question objective then use "is not a matter of programing controversy such as ommiting brackets in an if(boolean) with only one line after it, though if you've got something better go ahead and use your definition i won't mind) Is there a more effective way to accomplish the gole of making debugging easier than what i'm doing? Anything you know i mean to ask but that i have forgotten too (as much information as makes sense is appreciated).

  • ProtoInclude for fields ?

    - by Big
I have a simple object [ProtoContract] public class DataChangedEventArgs<T> : EventArgs { private readonly object key; private readonly T data; private readonly DataChangeType changeType; ///<summary> /// Key to identify the data item ///</summary> public object Key { get { return key; } } [ProtoMember(2, IsRequired = true)] public T Data { get { return data; } } [ProtoMember(3, IsRequired = true)] public DataChangeType ChangeType { get { return changeType; } } and I have a problem with the key. Its type is object, but it can be either int, long or string. I would intuitively use a ProtoInclude attribute to say "expect these types" but unfortunately they are class only attribute. Does anybody has any idea how I could work around this ? For background, the public object Key is here for historical reasons (and all over the place) so I would very much like to avoid the mother of all refactorings ;-) Any chance I could get this to Serialize, even force it to Serialize as a string ?

  • How do i select the preceding nodes of a text node starting from a specific node and not the root no

    - by Rachel
How do i select the preceding nodes of a text node starting from a specific node whose id i know instead of getting the text nodes from the root node? When i invoke the below piece from a template match of text node, I get all the preceding text nodes from the root. I want to modify the above piece of code to select only the text nodes that appear after the node having a specific id say 123. i.e something like //*[@id='123'] <xsl:template match="text()[. is $text-to-split]"> <xsl:variable name="split-index" as="xsd:integer" select="$index - sum(preceding::text()/string-length(.))"/> <xsl:value-of select="substring(., 1, $split-index - 1)"/> <xsl:copy-of select="$new"/> <xsl:value-of select="substring(., $split-index)"/> </xsl:template> <xsl:variable name="text-to-split" as="text()?" select="descendant::text()[sum((preceding::text(), .)/string-length(.)) ge $index][1]"/> How do i include the condition in places where i use preceding::text inorder to select preceding text nodes relative to the specific node's id which i know?

  • Instantiating and starting a Scala Actor in a Map

    - by Bruce Ferguson
I'm experimenting with a map of actors, and would like to know how to instantiate them and start them in one fell swoop... import scala.actors.Actor import scala.actors.Actor._ import scala.collection.mutable._ abstract class Message case class Update extends Message object Test { val groupings = "group1" :: "group2" :: "group3":: Nil val myActorMap = new HashMap[String,MyActor] def main(args : Array[String]) { groupings.foreach(group => myActorMap += (group -> new MyActor)) myActorMap("group2").start myActorMap("group2") ! Update } } class MyActor extends Actor { def act() { loop { react { case Update => println("Received Update") case _ => println("Ignoring event") } } } } The line: myActorMap("group2").start will grab the second instance, and let me start it, but I would like to be able to do something more like: groupings.foreach(group => myActorMap += (group -> (new MyActor).start)) but no matter how I wrap the new Actor, the compiler complains with something along the lines of: type mismatch; found : scala.actors.Actor required: com.myCompany.test.MyActor or various other complaints. I know it must be something simple to do with anonymous classes, but I can't see it right now. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!!

  • Java hangs when trying to close a ProcessBuilder OutputStream

    - by Jeff Bullard
I have the following Java code to start a ProcessBuilder, open an OutputStream, have the process write a string to an OutputStream, and then close the OutputStream. The whole thing hangs indefinitely when I try to close the OutputStream. This only happens on Windows, never on Mac or Linux. Some of the related questions seem to be close to the same problem I'm having, but I haven't been able to figure out how to apply the answers to my problem, as I am a relative newbie with Java. Here is the code. You can see I have put in a lot of println statements to try to isolate the problem. System.out.println("GenMic trying to get the input file now"); System.out.flush(); OutputStream out = child.getOutputStream(); try { System.out.println("GenMic getting ready to write the input file to out"); System.out.flush(); out.write(intext.getBytes()); System.out.println("GenMic finished writing to out"); System.out.flush(); out.close(); System.out.println("GenMic closed OutputStream"); System.out.flush(); } catch (IOException iox) { System.out.println("GenMic caught IOException 2"); System.out.flush(); String detailedMessage = iox.getMessage(); System.out.println("Exception: " + detailedMessage); System.out.flush(); throw new RuntimeException(iox); } And here is the output when this chunk is executed: GenMic trying to get the input file now GenMic getting ready to write the input file to out GenMic finished writing to out

However, it prints the selected values to the label correctly but it can't set the selected value for the other selectOneChoice. and Here are my page and my value change event method. <tr:form id="nhutForm"> <tr:selectOneChoice id="one" value="#{nhutTestBean.one}" autoSubmit="true" immediate="true" valueChangeListener="#{nhutTestBean.onMyValueChanged}"> <tr:selectItem label="0" value="0"/> <tr:selectItem label="1" value="1"/> <tr:selectItem label="2" value="2"/> <tr:selectItem label="3" value="3"/> </tr:selectOneChoice> <tr:selectOneChoice id="two" value="#{nhutTestBean.two}" partialTriggers="one"> <f:selectItems value="#{nhutTestBean.myList}"/> </tr:selectOneChoice> <tr:outputText id="nhutTextBox" value="hello: #{nhutTestBean.output}" partialTriggers="one"/></tr:form> and my valueChangeEvent method: public void onMyValueChanged(ValueChangeEvent event) { this.setOutput((String)event.getNewValue()); this.setTwo((String)event.getNewValue()); } One thing I realize is that it calls my setTwo twice, the first the set the correct values, but the second time set it to null so that nothing would be selected for the two drop down box. please help. thank you so much.

  • Perl Regex - Condensing groups of find/replace

    - by brydgesk
    I'm using Perl to perform some file cleansing, and am running into some performance issues. One of the major parts of my code involves standardizing name fields. I have several sections that look like this: sub substitute_titles { my ($inStr) = @_; ${$inStr} =~ s/ PHD./ PHD /; ${$inStr} =~ s/ P H D / PHD /; ${$inStr} =~ s/ PROF./ PROF /; ${$inStr} =~ s/ P R O F / PROF /; ${$inStr} =~ s/ DR./ DR /; ${$inStr} =~ s/ D.R./ DR /; ${$inStr} =~ s/ HON./ HON /; ${$inStr} =~ s/ H O N / HON /; ${$inStr} =~ s/ MR./ MR /; ${$inStr} =~ s/ MRS./ MRS /; ${$inStr} =~ s/ M R S / MRS /; ${$inStr} =~ s/ MS./ MS /; ${$inStr} =~ s/ MISS./ MISS /; } I'm passing by reference to try and get at least a little speed, but I fear that running so many (literally hundreds) of specific string replaces on tens of thousands (likely hundreds of thousands eventually) of records is going to hurt the performance. Is there a better way to implement this kind of logic than what I'm doing currently? Thanks Edit: Quick note, not all the replace functions are just removing periods and spaces. There are string deletions, soundex groups, etc.

  • Correct way of setting a custom FileInfo class to an Iterator

    - by Gordon
I am trying to set a custom class to an Iterator through the setInfoClass method: Use this method to set a custom class which will be used when getFileInfo and getPathInfo are called. The class name passed to this method must be derived from SplFileInfo. My class is like this (simplified example): class MyFileInfo extends SplFileInfo { public $props = array( 'foo' => '1', 'bar' => '2' ); } The iterator code is this: $rit = new RecursiveIteratorIterator( new RecursiveDirectoryIterator('/some/file/path/'), RecursiveIteratorIterator::SELF_FIRST); Since RecursiveDirectoryIterator is by inheritance through DirectoryIterator also an SplFileInfo object, it provides the setInfoClass method (it's not listed in the manual, but reflection shows it's there). Thus I can do: $rit->getInnerIterator()->setInfoClass('MyFileInfo'); All good up to here, but when iterating over the directory with foreach($rit as $file) { var_dump( $file ); } I get the following weird result object(MyFileInfo)#4 (3) { ["props"]=>UNKNOWN:0 ["pathName":"SplFileInfo":private]=>string(49) "/some/file/path/someFile.txt" ["fileName":"SplFileInfo":private]=>string(25) "someFile.txt" } So while MyFileInfo is picked up, I cannot access it's properties. If I add custom methods, I can invoke them fine, but any properties are UNKNOWN. If I don't set the info class to the iterator, but to the SplFileInfo object (like shown in the example in the manual), it will give the same UNKNOWN result: foreach($rit as $file) { // $file is a SplFileInfo instance $file->setInfoClass('MyFileInfo'); var_dump( $file->getFileInfo() ); } However, it will work when I do foreach($rit as $file) { $file = new MyFileInfo($file); var_dump( $file ); } Unfortunately, the code I a want to use this in is somewhat more complicated and stacks some more iterators. Creating the MyFileInfo class like this is not an option. So, does anyone know how to get this working or why PHP behaves this weird? Thanks.

  • Passing an arbitrary JSONValue to a JSNI function

If I naively write my JSNI as something like: public final native jsni(Object parameter) /*-{ doSomething(parameter); }-*/; public void useFunction(JSONValue value) { jsni(value); //Throws js exception at runtime :( } then I get a javascript exception, because GWT doesn't know how to convert the JSONValue to a JavaScriptObject (or native string / number value). My current workaround is public final native jsniForJSO(Object parameter) /*-{ doSomething(parameter); }-*/; public final native jsniForString(String parameter) /*-{ doSomething(parameter); }-*/; public final native jsniForNumber(double parameter) /*-{ doSomething(parameter); }-*/; public actuallyUseFunction(JSONValue value) { if (value.isObject()) { jsniForJSO(value.isObject().getJavaScriptObject()); } else if (value.isString()) { jsniForString(value.isString().stringValue()); } else { //etc } } This is a big burden for code maintainability, etc... especially if you have more than one parameter. Is there a way to generate these functions automatically, or get around this issue altogether? I've taken to wrapping everything in a JSONObject first, so I can definitely get a JavaScriptObject to pass to my jsni, but that's another clumsy mechanic.

  • Processing XML form input in ASP

    - by Omar Kooheji
I'm maintaining a legacy application which consists of some ASP.Net pages with c# code behinds and some asp pages. I need to change the way the application accepts it's input from reading a set of parameters from some form fields to reading in one form field which contains contains some XML and parsing to get the parameters out. I've written a C# class that takes an The NameValueCollection from the C# HttpRequest's Form Element. Like so NameValueCollection form = Request.Form; Dictionary<string, string> fieldDictionary = RequestDataExtractor.BuildFieldDictionary(form); The code in the class looks for a particular parameter and if it's there processes the XML and outputs a Dictionary, if its not there it just cycles through the Form parameters and puts them all into the dictionary (Allowing the old method to still work) How would I do this in ASP? Can I use my same class, or a modified version of it? or do I have to write some new code to get this working? If I have to write ASP code Whats the best way to process the XML in ASP? Sorry if this seems like a stupid question but I know next to nothing about ASP and VB.

  • To have efficient many-to-many relation in Java

    - by Masi
How can you make the efficient many-to-many -relation from fileID to Words and from word to fileIDs without database -tools like Postgres in Java? I have the following classes. The relation from fileID to words is cheap, but not the reverse, since I need three for -loops for it. My solution is not apparently efficient. Other options may be to create an extra class that have word as an ID with the ArrayList of fileIDs. Reply to JacobM's answer The relevant part of MyFile's constructors is: /** * Synopsis of data in wordToWordConutInFile.txt: * fileID|wordID|wordCount * * Synopsis of the data in the file wordToWordID.txt: * word|wordID **/ /** * Getting words by getting first wordIDs from wordToWordCountInFile.txt and then words in wordToWordID.txt. */ InputStream in2 = new FileInputStream("/home/dev/wordToWordCountInFile.txt"); BufferedReader fi2 = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(in2)); ArrayList<Integer> wordIDs = new ArrayList<Integer>(); String line = null; while ((line = fi2.readLine()) != null) { if ((new Integer(line.split("|")[0]) == currentFileID)) { wordIDs.add(new Integer(line.split("|")[6])); } } in2.close(); // Getting now the words by wordIDs. InputStream in3 = new FileInputStream("/home/dev/wordToWordID.txt"); BufferedReader fi3 = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(in3)); line = null; while ((line = fi3.readLine()) != null) { for (Integer wordID : wordIDs) { if (wordID == (new Integer(line.split("|")[1]))) { this.words.add(new Word(new String(line.split("|")[0]), fileID)); break; } } } in3.close(); this.words.addAll(words); The constructor of Word is at the paste.

  • Is this an example for parametric polymorphism?

    - by mrt181
Hi i am educating myself oop principles. I would like to know if this is a correct example of Cardellis definition of parametric polymorphism. Please enlighten me. The example is in cfml's script based syntax. <cfcomponent> <cfscript> public numeric function getlength(any arg, string type){ switch (arguments.type){ case "array": return arraylen(arguments.arg); break; case "struct": return structcount(arguments.arg); break; case "string": return len(arguments.arg); break; case "numeric": return len(arguments.arg); break; case "object": // gets the number of parent classes, substracting the railo base class return -1 + arraylen(structfindkey(getmetadata(arguments.arg),"extends","all")); break; default: // throw was added to railo as a user defined function to use it in cfscript throw("InvalidTypeArgument","The provided type argument is invalid for method getlength"); } } </cfscript> </cfcomponent>
