  • Why does tracerpt use up all of my Sql Server's memory?

    - by Cypher
We have a MS Sql Server 2008 machine with 12 GB of RAM... twice now within the last week this server was knocked on its backside by a process called "tracerpt.exe" which was found to have taken up ALL of the system's memory and leaving nothing for sqlserver. Done my homework, figured out what this program is... but still no idea why it's hogging up so much RAM (though I have an idea), nor what application is actually executing it. This server is the back-end to a Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 application which is hosted on a separate server and is our production database used for just about everything. If this program is necessary, I would like to be able to find the application that is executing this thing and remove it or disable whatever feature is causing this quite annoying occurrence. Any ideas?

  • How to check CPU temperature on a HP P2000?

    - by Pavel
    I have a HP StorageWorks MSA Storage P2000 G3 SAS. show sensor-status gives something like # show sensor-status Sensor Name Value Status ---------------------------------------------------- On-Board Temperature 1-Ctlr A 53 C OK On-Board Temperature 1-Ctlr B 52 C OK On-Board Temperature 2-Ctlr A 61 C OK On-Board Temperature 2-Ctlr B 63 C OK On-Board Temperature 3-Ctlr A 53 C OK On-Board Temperature 3-Ctlr B 53 C OK Disk Controller Temp-Ctlr A 34 C OK Disk Controller Temp-Ctlr B 32 C OK Memory Controller Temp-Ctlr A 66 C OK Memory Controller Temp-Ctlr B 67 C OK [...] Overall Unit Status OK OK Temperature Loc: upper-IOM A 40 C OK Temperature Loc: lower-IOM B 38 C OK Temperature Loc: left-PSU 36 C OK Temperature Loc: right-PSU 40 C OK [...] is one of the values the CPU/FPGA temperature? Or, if not, how do I get it? Thanks!

  • Ierrs on Network Interface - Pfsense/Freebsd

    - by JFA
Hello all, We're using PfSense as an internal router/firewall (no connection to WAN). Using the Web-GUI, under Status --- Interfaces, there's one particular interface where I have some errors: In/out errors 3513/0 I then SSHed to the firewall to validate the info provided by the WebGUI and here's the output: # netstat -ni -I bce2 Name Mtu Network Address Ipkts Ierrs Opkt Oerrs Coll bce2 1500 <Link#3> 00:23:7d:cd:a2:a2 1404522323 3513 749797131 0 0 bce2 1500 10.42.1.0/24 10.42.1.24 6 - 6 - - As you can see, both present the same info (errors on incoming packets). I switched cables, changed network card, changed port on switch and I still see the errors. My 2 questions really are: 1) Is there any way I could get more info on the nature of these errors? or is this all I can get? 2) Should I be worried about this? As you can see, the errors are a VERY LOW percentage of all the total incoming packets. In other words, is this normal on a high-traffic gigabit interface? Thanks! JFA

  • Having trouble redirecting frevvo using mod_proxy

    - by user38859
This question is similar to this: http://serverfault.com/questions/102868/how-to-access-webservers-running-on-ports-blocked-on-companys-network Basically, I'm using confluence and a plugin called frevvo. Confluence sits on port 8080 while frevvo sits on port 8082. I want to redirect both of them to port 80 via Apache HTTP web server so that it doesn't get blocked by company proxies. I've been using the document on Atlassian that shows me how to run confluence behind Apache (I can't post a second URL due to being a newbie here) I've successfully redirected Confluence from port 8080 to port 80 so I can now access Confluence using www.example.com/confluence. Now I tried doing the same thing to frevvo with the following configurations: Apache httpd: ProxyRequests Off ProxyPreserveHost On <Proxy *> Order deny, allow Allow from all </Proxy> ProxyPass /confluence http://localhost:8080/confluence ProxyPassReverse /confluence http://localhost:8080/confluence <Location /confluence> Order allow, deny Allow from all </Location> ProxyPass /frevvo http://localhost:8082/ ProxyPassReverse /frevvo http://localhost:8082/ <Location /forms> Order allow, deny Allow from all </Location> And in server.xml for the frevvo Tomcat instance, I added the following within <Host> tag: <Context path=" " docBase="" debug="0" reloadable="false"> <!-- Logger is deprecated in Tomcat 5.5. Logging configuration for Confluence is specified in confluence/WEB-INF/classes/log4j.properties --> <Manager pathname="" /> </Context> The plugin, frevvo, when accessed through the browser using http://localhost:8082 usually redirect to http://localhost:8082/frevvo/web With the above configuration, when accessing www.example.com.au/frevvo redirects to www.example.com/frevvo/web/static/login - which doesn't work. I hope the above details is clear and appreciate anyone who could give us some insight.

  • How to use Salt Stack with minions all behind NAT (not publicly accessible, default salt ports not open)?

    - by MountainX
Can Salt Stack minions communicate with the salt master from behind NAT/Firewalls, etc., using standard ports that would be open be default in all consumer NAT routers (and without the minions having a public DNS record or static IP)? I'm working my way through my first salt tutorial, and this is where I'm stuck. I am able to configure iptables on the Ubuntu salt-master. But I have no control over the routers/NAT that the minions will sit behind. So far I tried these settings: /etc/salt/master: publish_port: 465 ret_port: 443 /etc/salt/minion: master_port: 465 That did not work. Background: I have a custom developed application presently running on about 40 Kubuntu laptops (& more planned). Every few months I have to update the application. (Often this just amounts to replacing a .jar file, which requires root permissions.) I also have to run Ubuntu updates and a few other minor things. I've been doing it manually, one by one, using Team Viewer to log into each client. I would like to dramatically improve this process. The two options I'm aware of are either: use reverse ssh tunnels and bash scripts. I tested this and it works. But I don't get any of the reporting, etc., I would get with Salt Stack. use Salt Stack (or similar) management tool. But I need a really simple tool. I can't invest any time in a big learning curve. I looked at Puppet and a bunch of related tools. The only one I found that looked simple enough for me (so far) was Salt Stack. But I'm stuck now because my minion can't reach the salt-master, as stated above. I appreciate suggestions.

  • MDaemon vs Exchange (2007-2010). Which one should we choose ?

    - by Deniz
We are at the verge of a mail server decision. We do currently use 2 mail servers : MDaemon 10 and Exchange 2003. We are planning to use a company and customer wide one point solution. Our main candidates are MDaemon 11 and Exchange 2007 or 2010. We would like to learn other users experiences on those solutions. The server-side experiences, the user-side experiences, feature set, TCO, support options etc. And if there were other solutions (like MDaemon 11 + Exchange or anything else) what would you suggest ?

  • How to Load commands into your powershell profile to run on starting powershell

    - by JohnyV
Hi, I have found a way to load exchange 2010 powershell into powershell running on a windows xp workstation, however there are a few commands that need to run. I was wondering how I could load them into a profile somehow. These are the commands that I need to run before I can do any of the exchange things such as Get-Mailbox. COMMAND 1 $session = New-PSSession -Configurationname Microsoft.Exchange –ConnectionUri http://servername/powershell -Credential $user (it prompts you for a username and p/word then the next command) COMMAND 2 Import-PSSession $session Then I am able to run exchange 2010 commands such as Get-Mailbox. Anyway I can load these so that when I click on the powershell shortcut they preload the importing of exchange commands. Thanks

  • How do I mount a "GPT Protective Partition" in Windows XP?

I formatted an external USB harddrive while it was connected to a 32-bit Windows 2003 Server Std. edition server. After loading it up with files, I moved it to my Windows XP SP3 where it didn't show up automatically in My Computer. I opened up Computer ManagementDisk Management and see it listed as a "Health (GPT Protective Parititon)". What's up with that? Can I mount it?

  • BAT file will not run from Task Scheduler but will from Command Line

    - by wtaylor
I'm trying to run a BAT script from Task Scheduler in Windows 2008 R2 and it runs for 3 seconds and then stops. It says it successfully completes but I know it doesn't. I can run this script from the command line directly, and it runs just fine. The bat file I'm running actually deletes files older than 7 days using "forfiles" then I'm mapping a network drive, moving the files across the network using robocopy, and then closing the network connection. I have taken the network and copy options out of the file and it still does the same thing. • How should I proceed to upgrade from TFS2008 to TFS2010

    - by Stephane
Hi, We have a TFS2008 server with multiple team projects (about 20) What is the best way to migrate to TFS2010 without loosing the history. I believe there are 2 ways, correct me if I'm wrong: installing a fresh tfs2010 and importing the DB from TFS 2008 or in-place upgrade. What is your recommendation and why? Are there any issue I should be prepared to face? Any advice is welcome.

  • Bind ADFS 2.0 service to a specific IP address

    - by ccellar
I have one server with ADFS-2.0 and a few websites on it. One of the websites is Dynamics CRM which listens on a specific IP address on port 443. Dynamics CRM provides a metadata file for configuration purposes which could be used to configure a relaying party trust with ADFS. It is accessible with the URL https://auth.contoso.com/FederationMetadata/2007-06/federationmetadata.xml The problem is that ADFS-2.0 installs a service which registers following urlacl https://+:443/FederationMetadata/2007-06/ This means the result of accessing the URL https://auth.contoso.com/FederationMetadata/2007-06/federationmetadata.xml is the metadata file of ADFS, not the one of Dynamics CRM. I've tried to delete the default urlacl and added (one of them at a time) https://192.168.1.2:443/FederationMetadata/2007-06/ https://adfs.mydomain.com:443/FederationMetadata/2007-06/ but neither of them worked. Instead the ADFS-service failed to startup complete. Is there any way to bind this service to a IP address? At the moment I see only two alternatives Bind the service to a non standard port. This leads to problems because this means that also the ADFS website has to use a non-standard HTTPS-port. Install ADFS-2.0 on a different server (this is my favorite alternative - however it is not possible in every situation...)

  • Getting hp-snmp-agents on HP ProLiant DL360 on Lenny working

    - by mark
After receiving our HP ProLiant DL360 I'd like to integrate the machine into our Munin system and thus enable ProLiant specific information to be exposed via SNMP. I'm running Debian Lenny with kernel 2.6.26-2-vserver-amd64 . I've followed http://downloads.linux.hp.com/SDR/getting_started.html and the HP repository has been added to /etc/apt/sources.list.d/HP-ProLiantSupportPack.list . Setting up Lenny SNMP itself is not a problem, I configure it to have a public v1 community string to read all data and it works. I install hp-snmp-agents and run hpsnmpconfig and it adds additional lines to the top of /etc/snmp/snmpd.conf : dlmod cmaX /usr/lib64/libcmaX64.so snmpd gets restarted. Via lsof I can see that libcmaX64 was loaded and is used by snmpd, put I do not get any additional information out of snmp. I use snmpwalk -v 1 -c public ... and I can see many OIDs but I do not see the new ones I'd expect, most notably temperatures, fan speed and such. The OIDs I'm expecting are e.g. 1.3.6.1.4.1.232.6.2.6.8.1.4.1 , this is from the existing munin plugins from http://exchange.munin-monitoring.org/plugins/snmp__hp_temp/version/1 . snmpd[19007]: cmaX: Parsing shared as a type was unsucessful snmpd[19007]: cmaX: listening for subagents on port 25375 snmpd[19007]: cmaX: subMIB 1 handler has disconnected snmpd[19007]: cmaX: subMIB 2 handler has disconnected snmpd[19007]: cmaX: subMIB 3 handler has disconnected snmpd[19007]: cmaX: subMIB 5 handler has disconnected snmpd[19007]: cmaX: subMIB 6 handler has disconnected snmpd[19007]: cmaX: subMIB 8 handler has disconnected snmpd[19007]: cmaX: subMIB 9 handler has disconnected snmpd[19007]: cmaX: sent ColdStarts on ports 25376 to 25393 snmpd[19007]: cmaX: subMIB 10 handler has disconnected snmpd[19007]: cmaX: subMIB 11 handler has disconnected snmpd[19007]: cmaX: subMIB 14 handler has disconnected snmpd[19007]: cmaX: subMIB 15 handler has disconnected snmpd[19007]: cmaX: subMIB 16 handler has disconnected snmpd[19007]: cmaX: subMIB 21 handler has disconnected snmpd[19007]: cmaX: subMIB 22 handler has disconnected snmpd[19007]: cmaX: subMIB 23 handler has disconnected snmpd[19007]: cmaX: subMIB 1 will be sent on port 25376 to hp Advanced Server Management_Peer snmpd[19007]: cmaX: subMIB 2 will be sent on port 25376 to hp Advanced Server Management_Peer snmpd[19007]: cmaX: subMIB 3 will be sent on port 25376 to hp Advanced Server Management_Peer snmpd[19007]: cmaX: subMIB 5 will be sent on port 25376 to hp Advanced Server Management_Peer snmpd[19007]: cmaX: subMIB 6 will be sent on port 25376 to hp Advanced Server Management_Peer snmpd[19007]: cmaX: subMIB 8 will be sent on port 25376 to hp Advanced Server Management_Peer snmpd[19007]: cmaX: subMIB 9 will be sent on port 25376 to hp Advanced Server Management_Peer snmpd[19007]: cmaX: subMIB 10 will be sent on port 25376 to hp Advanced Server Management_Peer snmpd[19007]: cmaX: subMIB 11 will be sent on port 25376 to hp Advanced Server Management_Peer snmpd[19007]: cmaX: subMIB 14 will be sent on port 25376 to hp Advanced Server Management_Peer snmpd[19007]: cmaX: subMIB 15 will be sent on port 25376 to hp Advanced Server Management_Peer snmpd[19007]: cmaX: subMIB 16 will be sent on port 25376 to hp Advanced Server Management_Peer snmpd[19007]: cmaX: subMIB 21 will be sent on port 25376 to hp Advanced Server Management_Peer snmpd[19007]: cmaX: subMIB 22 will be sent on port 25376 to hp Advanced Server Management_Peer snmpd[19007]: cmaX: subMIB 23 will be sent on port 25376 to hp Advanced Server Management_Peer snmpd[19007]: cmaX: subMIB 18 handler has disconnected snmpd[19007]: cmaX: subMIB 18 will be sent on port 25393 to cpqnicd snmpd[19007]: NET-SNMP version 5.4.1 This doesn't look particular bad for me, it's just informational I guess. I've also noticed that from the time I installed hp-snmp-agents it adds a lot of additional daemons and that my load suddenly jumps to 1. I've uninstalled the package for now. Is this expected behavior?

  • Where is definitive download location MBSA's "wsusscn2.cab" file for offline mode scans?

    - by Chris W. Rea
I'm running Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer 2.1 against some servers that don't have outbound access to the Internet, by design of firewall restrictions, and therefore I'm wishing to run MBSA in offline mode. In order to do so, I need the list of updates in the file named "wsusscn2.cab". Is there a well-known page or URL at Microsoft for downloading the most up-to-date version of that file for MBSA offline mode? Thank you.

  • Apache2 Startup warning: NameVirtualHost *:80 has no VirtualHosts

    - by Kit Roed
When my Ubuntu Apache server (apache2) starts up I get a warning message that reads: [warn] NameVirtualHost *:80 has no VirtualHosts however, the web server is working fine... could anyone explain what I might have wrong in my site's configuration to make it give me this warning? the config file in question (located in /etc/apache2/sites-available) reads like this (details removed for brevity) <VirtualHost *> <Location /mysite> # config details here... </Location> # use the following for authorization <LocationMatch "/mysite/login"> AuthType Basic AuthName "My Site" AuthUserFile /etc/sitepasswords/passwd Require valid-user </LocationMatch> </VirtualHost> Could the fact that I'm using <Location> be a part of the problem?

  • VMware Workstation Error: Cannot find a valid peer process

    - by Robert Claypool
I am running VMware Workstation 6.1.5 (build-126130) on CentOS 5.3 (Final). One of the guest machines is reporting an error when I try to power on the most recent snapshot. Snapshots further back in the timeline will power on without any problem. Error: Unable to change virtual machine power state: Cannot find a valid peer process to connect to. Apparently I'm not the only one with this problem. Others have been reporting it since at least early 2005. The forums say to delete unused lock files and restart any hung VMware processes (or restart the host machine), which I have done. Still no luck. Any other ideas?

  • Why does Mac OS X Software Update not work when machine uses Active Directory?

    - by Lyndsey Ferguson
My company's IT department is mostly a Windows run operation and in order to become more secure, they are altering the way that the Macintosh computers login to our internal network so that they use Active Directory like their Windows counterparts. I have been given Administrative permission on my Mac and I am able to do most of what I used to be able to do in terms of authentication of software installations. However, there is a problem: the "Software Update" feature doesn't work. What happens is that when I try to get the Mac to perform its Software Updates from the Apple menu, the normal window appears listing what has to be updated; I am able to select what to update and click the "Update" button, but then nothing happens. It doesn't ask for authentication like it used to, the computer doesn't perform any download or installation (it does sometimes ask me to agree to license agreements for iTunes). I can download the updates individually and install them without any issues, but the auto-update fails. I'd rather use the Software Update menu item like I used to: it is much more convenient. Any suggestions on how I can fix this? EDIT Nov 19th, 2009, 10:09 EST: I have posted this question to the Apple Mac OS X Snow Leopard support forum. EDIT Nov 19th, 2009, 12:39 EST:Yes, the Terminal command "sudo softwareupdate --install --all" does work flawlessly. I want to avoid that as my co-workers are generally not comfortable on the Mac. I also tried Chealion's suggestion to delete "~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist" and "/Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist", Software Update still fails. However, I did get diagnostic messages in the Console (below). I've deleted the MS Office Package Receipts and examined the suhelperd (Software Update Helper Daemon?); it appears that suhelperd is crashing and that explains why it doesn't work. I've submitted a bug report to Apple (radar://7408619). Here are the Console diagnostic messages: 11/19/09 12:36:44 PM com.apple.suhelperd[66829] terminate called after throwing an instance of 'NSException' 11/19/09 12:36:47 PM com.apple.launchd[1] (com.apple.suhelperd[66829]) Job appears to have crashed: Abort trap 11/19/09 12:36:48 PM com.apple.ReportCrash.Root[66830] 2009-11-19 12:36:48.275 ReportCrash[66830:2703] Saved crash report for suhelperd[66829] version ???
