  • Not able to connect the DB from Servlet

    I have started jsp servlet application with Xampp Server, In which I have dbconnection.java and LoginValidator.java (servlet) files. I'm getting an error while trying to access the database from servlet (LoginValidator.java). It is getting the following error: Class Not found Exception : com.mysql.jdbc.Driver I have imported the mysql-connector-java-5.1.18-bin.jar. I have searched a lot but could not find the solution.

    I want to develop a simple search engine, using ASP.NET and C# , where I can search for a word which contained in a very big text (like the Holy Bible or something like that), then the program shows the user where the word is. I have no idea about in which database I can put this large text and using which method will I search for a word. Any suggestions will help me, and if anyone have a tutorial for anything similar it will benefit me.

    We have following type of "Unique ID" column for many tables in the database (Oracle). It is a string with following format <randomnumber>-<ascendingnumber>-<machinename> So we have some thing like this U1234-12345-NBBJD U1234-12346-NBBJD U1234-12347-NBBJD U1234-12348-NBBJD U1234-12349-NBBJD The UID value is unique, we have unique index on them. Does the following format is more efficient than above for index scans? NBBJD-U1234-12345 NBBJD-U1234-12346 NBBJD-U1234-12347 NBBJD-U1234-12348 NBBJD-U1234-12349

There is no messaging middleware available atm. The PHP process inserts an row in a SQL Server table. The Windows process should read this entry and process it. So, when I do res = PQexec(conn, "SELECT point FROM test_point3d"); I don't know how to convert the PGresult I got to my custom data type. I'd like something that works regardless of the position of the parenthesis in the text (beginning, middle, end, whatever).     I'm learning how to use the ASP.net membership, when a user registers they just create a username and password, however i want to create a page on my website called "profile" where they can fill in extra details such as firstname, lastname, date of birth ect. However i don't see where i can place this in the asp.net membership database. Theres an asp.net_profile table however i'm not sure how this works. Could someone please explain how i can do this?

This would be great, since we have a database with old data and I'm trying to test some queries that use getdate(). The article mentioned using a persistence queue as a Batch Updater instead of immediately sending an individual insert or update to the database. The author doesn't give a concrete example of this concept so I googled Persistence Queue but that didn't come up with much. Does anyone know of a good example of this?
