  • Finding the type of an object in C++

    - by lemnisca
    I have a class A and another class that inherits from it, B. I am overriding a function that accepts an object of type A as a parameter, so I have to accept an A. However, I later call functions that only B has, so I want to return false and not proceed if the object passed is not of type B. What is the best way to find out which type the object passed to my function is?

  • XML Document straight to Stored Proc Mapping in NHibernate

    - by ZekeTheGeek
    Hello. I'm building a mechanism to take XML data from a queue and call stored procs to save the data from the XML document directly to the database. This seems like something that NHibernate could address, but of course most of the information I find discusses going from objects to database instead of another data format (XML, in this case). Is there a way to use NHibernate in this fashion or am I barking up the wrong tree? Thanks.

  • How do I track users(clients) in a REST GET calls

    - by PythonKing
    We have a Public REST application which has a lot of GET's from the clients . We have a way to track the POST calls but we do not have a way to track where the user has come for the GET calls . Our intention is to have some client specific business rules if we are able to decide where the call has come from ?

  • Do the changes to cpumask using sched_setaffinity() take place immediately

    - by Sukanto
    I am writing a linux kernel module that needs to pin two threads on two different cpus. I am planning to use sched_setaffinity() after exporting it in the kernel. Is there any other exported function for the same ? Also, if I set only 1 CPU in the cpumask, will the thread be moved to that cpu with immediate effect ? If not, how do I enforce the same ? Will it help to call schedule() just after sched_setaffinity() ?

  • Does Java not support multiple inheritance?

    - by user1720616
    Lets us take instances of two classes public abstract class Shapes { public abstract void draw(Graphics g); } public class Rectangle extends Shapes { public void draw(Graphics g) { //implementation of the method } } here the class Rectangle has extended class Shapes and implicitly it extends class Object.I know no other extension is possible but cant we call inheriting classes Shapes and Object multiple inheritance?(Since inheriting two classes is multiple inheritance from one perspective)

  • Creating a good search solution

    - by Daniel
    I have an app where users have a role,a username,faculty and so on.When I'm looking for a list of users by their role or faculty or anything they have in common I can call (among others possible) @users = User.find_by_role(params[:role]) #or @users = User.find_by_shift(params[:shift]) So it keeps the system Class.find_by_property So the question is: What if at different points users lists should be generated based on different properties.I mean: I'm passing from different links params[:role] or params[:faculty] or params[:department] to my list action in my users controller.As I see it all has to be in that action,but which parameter should the search be made by?

I want to show "?", which is U+21B5 DOWNWARDS ARROW WITH CORNER LEFTWARDS. – I want to draw this to applet's screen so that it works in WIN, LINUX, MACOSX, etc. Is there a font available that makes this possible or should I draw it manually somehow? g2d.setFont("SymbolFont??which one"); g2d.drawString(myenterSymbolHere,x,Y);
