  • How to make command-line options mandatory with GLib?

    - by ahe
    I use GLib to parse some command-line options. The problem is that I want to make two of those options mandatory so that the program terminates with the help screen if the user omits them. My code looks like this: static gint line = -1; static gint column = -1; static GOptionEntry options[] = { {"line", 'l', 0, G_OPTION_ARG_INT, &line, "The line", "L"}, {"column", 'c', 0, G_OPTION_ARG_INT, &column, "The column", "C"}, {NULL} }; ... int main(int argc, char** argv) { GError *error = NULL; GOptionContext *context; context = g_option_context_new ("- test"); g_option_context_add_main_entries (context, options, NULL); if (!g_option_context_parse(context, &argc, &argv, &error)) { usage(error->message, context); } ... return 0; } If I omit one of those parameters or both on the command-line g_option_context_parse() still succeeds and the values in question (line and or column) are still -1. How can I tell GLib to fail parsing if the user doesn't pass both options on the command-line? Maybe I'm just blind but I couldn't find a flag I can put into my GOptionEntry data structure to tell it to make those fields mandatory. Of course I could check if one of those variables is still -1 but then the user could just have passed this value on the command-line and I want to print a separate error message if the values are out of range.

  • Compilation problem in the standard x86_64 libraries

    - by user350282
    Hi everyone, I am having trouble compiling a program I have written. I have two different files with the same includes but only one generates the following error when compiled with g++ /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-linux-gnu/4.4.1/../../../../lib/crt1.o: In function `_start': /build/buildd/eglibc-2.10.1/csu/../sysdeps/x86_64/elf/start.S:109: undefined reference to `main' collect2: ld returned 1 exit status The files I am including in my header are as follows: #include <google/sparse_hash_map> using google::sparse_hash_map; #include <ext/hash_map> #include <math.h> #include <iostream> #include <queue> #include <vector> #include <stack> using std::priority_queue; using std::stack; using std::vector; using __gnu_cxx::hash_map; using __gnu_cxx::hash; using namespace std; Searching the internet for those two lines hasn't resulted in anything to help me. I would be very grateful for any advice. Thank you

  • Ping broadcast on Win XP SP3

    - by PaulH
    I'm trying to ping the broadcast address 255.255.255.255 on WinXP SP3. If I use the command line, I get host error: C:\>ping 255.255.255.255 Ping request could not find host 255.255.255.255. Please check the name and try again. If I try a C++ program using the iphlpapi, IcmpSendEcho() fails and GetLastError returns 11010 IP_REQ_TIMED_OUT. HANDLE h = ::IcmpCreateFile(); IPAddr broadcast = inet_addr( "255.255.255.255" ); BYTE payload[ 32 ] = { 0 }; IP_OPTION_INFORMATION option = { 255, 0, 0, 0, 0 }; // a buffer with room for 32 replies each containing the full payload std::vector< BYTE > replies( 32 * ( sizeof( ICMP_ECHO_REPLY ) + 32 ) ); DWORD res = ::IcmpSendEcho( h, broadcast, payload, sizeof( payload ), &option, &replies[ 0 ], replies.size(), 1000 ); ::IcmpCloseHandle( h ); I can ping the local broadcast 192.168.0.255 with no problem. What do I need to do to ping the global broadcast? Thanks, PaulH

  • Begin game programming basics

    - by AJ
    My 14 year old kid brother wants to learn to program games. He has never programmed but would like to learn programming. His interest lies with games and game programming and he understands that it can be difficult but he wants to do that. So, obviously, I turned to SO folks to know what you feel on how he should go about it. Remember, please suggest on Areas that beginners can choose, how to begin in that area, what to read in the beginning, initial languages in the beginning etc. Once the beginning part is taken care of, you may also suggest the intermediate and advanced stuff but this question is about very beginning level. If there are areas like Web games Vs. console games Vs generic computer games, then please advice on the areas. As I said he has never programmed, he might want to try all the areas and choose the one he likes the best. I hope this is not too much to ask for someone who is in this field but if this question is huge, please advice on how to break it into multiple questions. ~Thanks.

  • System Error when running PyQt4's loadUi()

    - by user633804
    Hello, I'm pretty new to Qt, Python and their combinations. I'm currently writing a QGIS plugin in python (I used QtCreator 2.1 (Qt Designer 4.7) to generate a .ui-file and am now trying to use it for a Quantum GIS plugin that's written in Python 2.5 (and running in the Quantum GIS Python 2.5 console)). I am running into trouble when loading the ui-file dynamically when the program runs the loadUi() function. What throws me off is that the error occurs outside my script. Does that mean, I'm passing something wrong into it? Where does the error come in? Any hints on what could be wrong? code_dir = os.path.dirname(os.path.abspath(__file__)) self.ui = loadUi(os.path.join(code_dir, "Ui_myfile.ui"), self) This is the Error Code I am getting (minus the first paragraph): File "C:/Dokumente und Einstellungen/name.name/.qgis/python/plugins\myfile\myfile_gui.py", line 42, in __ init __ self.ui = loadUi(os.path.join(code_dir, "Ui_myfile.ui"), self) File "C:\PROGRA~1\QUANTU~1\apps\Python25\lib\site-packages\PyQt4\uic__init__.py", line 112, in loadUi return DynamicUILoader().loadUi(uifile, baseinstance) File "C:\PROGRA~1\QUANTU~1\apps\Python25\lib\site-packages\PyQt4\uic\Loader\loader.py", line 21, in loadUi return self.parse(filename) File "C:\PROGRA~1\QUANTU~1\apps\Python25\lib\site-packages\PyQt4\uic\uiparser.py", line 768, in parse actor(elem) File "C:\PROGRA~1\QUANTU~1\apps\Python25\lib\site-packages\PyQt4\uic\uiparser.py", line 616, in createUserInterface self.traverseWidgetTree(elem) File "C:\PROGRA~1\QUANTU~1\apps\Python25\lib\site-packages\PyQt4\uic\uiparser.py", line 594, in traverseWidgetTree handler(self, child) File "C:\PROGRA~1\QUANTU~1\apps\Python25\lib\site-packages\PyQt4\uic\uiparser.py", line 233, in createWidget topwidget.setCentralWidget(widget) SystemError: error return without exception set

  • Does F# documentation have a way to search for functions by their types?

    - by Nathan Sanders
    Say I want to know if F# has a library function of type ('T -> bool) -> 'T list -> int ie, something that counts how many items of a list that a function returns true for. (or returns the index of the first item that returns true) I used to use the big list at the MSR site for F# before the documentation on MSDN was ready. I could just search the page for the above text because the types were listed. But now the MSDN documentation only lists types on the individual pages--the module page is a mush of descriptive text. Google kinda-sorta works, but it can't help with // compatible interfaces ('T -> bool) -> Seq<'T> -> int // argument-swaps Seq<'T> -> ('T -> bool) -> int // type-variable names ('a -> bool) -> Seq<'a> -> int // wrappers ('a -> bool) -> 'a list -> option<int> // uncurried versions ('T -> bool) * 'T list -> int // .NET generic syntax ('T -> bool) -> List<'T> -> int // methods List<'T> member : ('T -> bool) -> int Haskell has a standalone program for this called Hoogle. Does F# have an equivalent, like Fing or something?

  • 2D vector value replacement using classes; genetic algorithm mutation

    - by gcolumbus
    I have a 2D vector as defined by the classes below. Note that I've used classes because I'm trying to program a genetic algorithm such that many, many 2D vectors will be created and they will all be different. class Quad: public std::vector<int> { public: Quad() : std::vector<int>(4,0) {} }; class QuadVec : public std::vector<Quad> { }; An important part of my algorithm, however, is that I need to be able to "mutate" (randomly change) particular values in a certain number of randomly chosen 2D vectors. This has me stumped. I can easily write code to randomly select the value within the 2D vector that will be selected for "mutation" but how do I actually enact that change using classes? I understand how this would be done with one 2D vector that has already been initialized but how do I do this if it hasn't? Please let me know if I haven't provided enough info or am not clear as I tend to do that. Thanks for your time and help!

  • C: socket connection timeout

    - by The.Anti.9
    I have a simple program to check if a port is open, but I want to shorten the timeout length on the socket connection because the default is far too long. I'm not sure how to do this though. Here's the code: #include <sys/socket.h> #include <sys/time.h> #include <sys/types.h> #include <arpa/inet.h> #include <netinet/in.h> #include <errno.h> #include <fcntl.h> #include <stdio.h> #include <netdb.h> #include <stdlib.h> #include <string.h> #include <unistd.h> int main(int argc, char **argv) { u_short port; /* user specified port number */ char addr[1023]; /* will be a copy of the address entered by u */ struct sockaddr_in address; /* the libc network address data structure */ short int sock = -1; /* file descriptor for the network socket */ if (argc != 3) { fprintf(stderr, "Usage %s <port_num> <address>", argv[0]); return EXIT_FAILURE; } address.sin_addr.s_addr = inet_addr(argv[2]); /* assign the address */ address.sin_port = htons(atoi(argv[2])); /* translate int2port num */ sock = socket(AF_INET, SOCK_STREAM, 0); if (connect(sock,(struct sockaddr *)&address,sizeof(address)) == 0) { printf("%i is open\n", port); } close(sock); return 0; }

  • PHP - Drilling down Data and Looping with Loops

    - by stogdilla
    I'm currently having difficulty finding a way of making my loops work. I have a table of data with 15 minute values. I need the data to pull up in a few different increments $filters=Array('Yrs','Qtr','Day','60','30','15'); I think I have a way of finding out what I need to be able to drill down to but the issue I'm having is after the first loop to cycle through all the Outter most values (ex: the user says they want to display by Hours, each hour should be able to have a "+" that will then add a new div to display the half hour data, then each half hour data have a "+" to display the 15 minute data upon request. Now I can just program the number of outputs for each value (6 different outputs) just in-case... but isn't there a way I can make it do the drill down for each one in a loop? so I only have to code one output once and have it just check if there are any more intervals after it and check for those? I'm sure I'm just overlooking some very simple way of doing this but my brain isn't being clever today. Sorry in advance if this is a simple solution. I guess the best way I could think of it as a reply on a form. How you would check to see if it's a reply of a reply, and then if that reply has any replys...etc for output. Can anyone help or at least point me in the right direction? Or am I stuck coding each possible check? Thanks in advance!

  • Can Win32_NetworkAdapterConfiguration.EnableStatic() be used to set more than one IP address?

    - by Andrew J. Brehm
    I ran into this problem in a Visual Basic program that uses WMI but could confirm it in PowerShell. Apparently the EnableStatic() method can only be used to set one IP address, despite taking two parameters IP address(es) and subnetmask(s) that are arrays. I.e. $a=get-wmiobject win32_networkadapterconfiguration -computername myserver This gets me an array of all network adapters on "myserver". After selecting a specific one ($a=$a[14] in this case), I can run $a.EnableStatic() which has this signature System.Management.ManagementBaseObject EnableStatic(System.String[] IPAddress, System.String[] SubnetMask) I thought this implies that I could set several IP addresses like this: $ips="192.168.1.42","192.168.1.43" $a.EnableStatic($ips,"255.255.255.0") But this call fails. However, this call works: $a.EnableStatic($ips[0],"255.255.255.0") It looks to me as if EnableStatic() really takes two strings rather than two arrays of strings as parameters. In Visual Basic it's more complicated and arrays must be passed but the method appears to take into account only the first element of each array. Am I confused again or is there some logic here?

  • Modifying resource contents of a running executable

    - by mrwoik
    All, I store my application settings in a resource. When my program first loads, I read the specified resource using WinAPI. I then parse the retrieved byte data. This works flawlessly for me. Now let's say that a user alters a setting in my application. He/she checks a checkbox control. I would like to save the updated setting to my resource. However, it seems that my call to UpdateResource will not work while my application is running. I can't modify my resource data even though it is the same size. First, is it possible to modify a running image's resource data? Second, if that is not possible, what alternatives do I have for storing settings internally within my application? NOTE: I must have the settings within my running executable. They cannot be on the harddrive or in the registry. Please don't even suggest that as an option.

  • File.Replace throwing IOException

    - by WebDevHobo
    I have an app that can make modify images. In some cases, this makes the filesize smaller, in some cases bigger. The program doesn't have an option to "not replace the file if result has a bigger filesize". So I wrote a little C# app to try and solve this. Instead of overwriting the files, I make the app write the result to a folder under the current one and name that folder Test. The C# app I wrote compares grabs the contents of both folders and puts the full path to the file(s) in two List objects. I then compare and replace. The replacing isn't working however. I get the following IOException: Unable to remove the file to be replaced The location is on an external hard-drive, on which I have full rights. Now, I know I can just do File.Delete and File.Move in that order, but this exception has gotten me interested in why this particular setup wont work. Here's the source code: http://pastebin.com/4Vq82Umu And yes, the file specified as last argument of the Replace function does exist.

  • Updating UI objects in windows forms

    - by P a u l
    Pre .net I was using MFC, ON_UPDATE_COMMAND_UI, and the CCmdUI class to update the state of my windows UI. From the older MFC/Win32 reference: Typically, menu items and toolbar buttons have more than one state. For example, a menu item is grayed (dimmed) if it is unavailable in the present context. Menu items can also be checked or unchecked. A toolbar button can also be disabled if unavailable, or it can be checked. Who updates the state of these items as program conditions change? Logically, if a menu item generates a command that is handled by, say, a document, it makes sense to have the document update the menu item. The document probably contains the information on which the update is based. If a command has multiple user-interface objects (perhaps a menu item and a toolbar button), both are routed to the same handler function. This encapsulates your user-interface update code for all of the equivalent user-interface objects in a single place. The framework provides a convenient interface for automatically updating user-interface objects. You can choose to do the updating in some other way, but the interface provided is efficient and easy to use. What is the guidance for .net Windows Forms? I am using an Application.Idle handler in the main form but am not sure this is the best way to do this. About the time I put all my UI updates in the Idle event handler my app started to show some performance problems, and I don't have the metrics to track this down yet. Not sure if it's related.

  • Why does PEAR get installed to my user directory?

    - by webworm
    I am new to Linux and I am attempting to install the PHP PEAR library on a virtual server which is running Ubuntu. I am following a tutorial that covers installing PEAR but have run up against an area where I am confused. When running the PEAR installation program I am prompted as to what I want the INSTALL_PREFIX to be. Evidently the INSTALL_PREFIX, among other things, determines where PEAR will be installed. The tutorial suggest the value of INSTALL_PREFIX be the following path ... "/home/MY_USER_NAME/pear" where MY_USER_NAME = my user account Having come from a Windows world, applications are installed on the system where everyone can use them. If I install PEAR underneath my user directory will other developers on the system be able to make use of PEAR in their PHP scripts? I want to make PEAR available to all users and not just myself. Could someone explain to me the difference between installing for all users and installing just for myself? Does the install location matter? Should I be installing PEAR in a different location? Thanks for any suggestions. P.S. The tutorial I am following is located at the following URL ... http://articles.sitepoint.com/article/getting-started-with-pear/2

  • C++: Construction and initialization order guarantees

    - by Helltone
    Hi, I have some doubts about construction and initialization order guarantees in C++. For instance, the following code has four classes X, Y, Z and W. The main function instantiates an object of class X. X contains an object of class Y, and derives from class Z, so both constructors will be called. Additionally, the const char* parameter passed to X's constructor will be implicitly converted to W, so W's constructor must also be called. What are the guarantees the C++ standard gives on the order of the calls to the copy constructors? Or, equivalently, this program is allowed to print? #include <iostream> class Z { public: Z() { std::cout << "Z" << std::endl; } }; class Y { public: Y() { std::cout << "Y" << std::endl; } }; class W { public: W(const char*) { std::cout << "W" << std::endl; } }; class X : public Z { public: X(const W&) { std::cout << "X" << std::endl; } private: Y y; }; int main(int, char*[]) { X x("x"); return 0; }

  • Crash using WscRegisterForChanges.

    - by user335126
    I'm trying to use the WscRegisterForChanges with C++ function in Windows 7. Documentation located here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb432507(v=VS.85).aspx My problem is that even though the callback properly executes, the code crashes when it gets to the end of the callback's execution. Here's the code in question. It's very simple, so I'm not sure why it's crashing: #include #include #include void SecurityCenterChangeOccurred(void *param) { printf("Change occurred!\n"); } int main() { HRESULT result = S_OK; HANDLE callbackRegistration = NULL; result = WscRegisterForChanges( NULL, &callbackRegistration, (LPTHREAD_START_ROUTINE)SecurityCenterChangeOccurred, NULL); while(1) { Sleep(100); } return 0; } My call stack looks like this when the crash occurs: 00faf6e8() ntdll.dll!_TppWorkerThread@4() + 0x1293 bytes kernel32.dll!@BaseThreadInitThunk@12() + 0x12 bytes ntdll.dll!___RtlUserThreadStart@8() + 0x27 bytes ntdll.dll!__RtlUserThreadStart@8() + 0x1b bytes If I add ExitThread(0); to the end of SecurityCenterChangeOccurred, I get an error and the following trace (So I don't think I should be using ExitThread): Unhandled exception at 0x7799852b (ntdll.dll) in WscRegisterForChangesCrash.exe: 0xC000071C: An invalid thread, handle %p, is specified for this operation. Possibly, a threadpool worker thread was specified. ntdll.dll!_TpCheckTerminateWorker@4() + 0x3ca2f bytes ntdll.dll!_RtlExitUserThread@4() + 0x30 bytes WscRegisterForChangesCrash.exe!SecurityCenterChangeOccurred(void * param=0x00000000) Line 8 + 0xa bytes C++ wscapi.dll!WorkItemWrapper() + 0x19 bytes ntdll.dll!_RtlpTpWorkCallback@8() + 0xdf bytes ntdll.dll!_TppWorkerThread@4() + 0x1293 bytes kernel32.dll!@BaseThreadInitThunk@12() + 0x12 bytes ntdll.dll!___RtlUserThreadStart@8() + 0x27 bytes ntdll.dll!__RtlUserThreadStart@8() + 0x1b bytes Does anyone have any ideas why this might be happening? • Creating a new object destroys an older object with different name in C++

    - by Mikael
    First question here! So, I am having some problems with pointers in Visual C++ 2008. I'm writing a program which will control six cameras and do some processing on them so to clean things up I have created a Camera Manager class. This class handles all operations which will be carried out on all the cameras. Below this is a Camera class which interacts with each individual camera driver and does some basic image processing. Now, the idea is that when the manager is initialised it creates two cameras and adds them to a vector so that I can access them later. The catch here is that when I create the second camera (camera2) the first camera's destructor is called for some reason, which then disconnects the camera. Normally I'd assume that the problem is somewhere in the Camera class, but in this case everything works perfectly as long as I don't create the camera2 object. What's gone wrong? CameraManager.h: #include "stdafx.h" #include <vector> #include "Camera.h" class CameraManager{ std::vector<Camera> cameras; public: CameraManager(); ~CameraManager(); void CaptureAll(); void ShowAll(); }; CameraManager.cpp: #include "stdafx.h" #include "CameraManager.h" CameraManager::CameraManager() { printf("Camera Manager: Initializing\n"); [...] Camera *camera1 = new Camera(NodeInfo,1, -44,0,0); cameras.push_back(*camera1); // Adding the following two lines causes camera1's destructor to be called. Why? Camera *camera2 = new Camera(NodeInfo,0, 44,0,0); cameras.push_back(*camera2); printf("Camera Manager: Ready\n"); }

  • Javascript Graph Layout Engine

    - by GJK
    I'm looking for a Javascript library/engine that can do graph layouts. (And when I say layouts, I mean logically position vertices nicely.) The graphs I'm working with are all m-ary trees. M is usually no more than 5 or 6, but it can be greater in some cases. I do have something that I use now, Graphviz's node program, and it works perfectly. The problem is, when running a web app, I have to send a request to the server every time I want a layout. Preferably, I would like something written in Javascript that can be quickly run on the client side. All it needs to do is provide layout information (relative positioning and whatnot). I don't need it to draw to a canvas or use SVG or anything, all I'm interested in is the layout. Library use like jQuery or RaphaelJS is fine by me. I'll work with it. I'm just looking for something to speed things along a little. Also, I'd consider writing my own if I could find a nice description of an algorithm to do the layouts. But I really don't want to spend too much time. I have something that works now, so getting it on the client side is just a bonus, not a necessity.

  • Reading XML or objects from a Web service

    - by Shawn
    This is my first time working with webservices and I am a bit lost. I successfully called the functions, but I only can get one value from the service. I read that the easiest way is to read xml or create objects and then call their values. Currently I use functions that return the desired value but I need to call them 3 times to get all the data witch is a waste of time and resources. I tried to call the service with the URL and use it as a website or getting the service to work the same way without importing into the program. The thing is that i cant find a way to pass the values into the url, because of that i get only blank pages. What is the fastest way to get my data from the services? I need city name, temperature and a flag if the city is valid. I need to pass the zip code to the service. Thank you. My current code wetther.Weather wether = new wetther.Weather(); string farenhait = wether.GetCityWeatherByZIP(zip).Temperature; string city = wether.GetCityWeatherByZIP(zip).City; bool correct = wether.GetCityWeatherByZIP(zip).Success; I tried it that way // Retrieve XML document XmlTextReader reader = new XmlTextReader("http://xml.weather.yahoo.com/forecastrss?p=94704"); // Skip non-significant whitespace reader.WhitespaceHandling = WhitespaceHandling.Significant; // Read nodes one at a time while (reader.Read()) { // Print out info on node Console.WriteLine("{0}: {1}", reader.NodeType.ToString(), reader.Name); } This one works for the yahoo page but not for mine. I need to use this webservice - http://wsf.cdyne.com/WeatherWS/Weather.asmx

  • Returning C++ objects from Windows DLL

    - by R Samuel Klatchko
    Due to how Microsoft implements the heap in their non-DLL versions of the runtime, returning a C++ object from a DLL can cause problems: // dll.h DLL_EXPORT std::string somefunc(); and: // app.c - not part of DLL but in the main executable void doit() { std::string str(somefunc()); } The above code runs fine provided both the DLL and the EXE are built with the Multi-threaded DLL runtime library. But if the DLL and EXE are built without the DLL runtime library (either the single or multi-threaded versions), the code above fails (with a debug runtime, the code aborts immediately due to the assertion _CrtIsValidHeapPointer(pUserData) failing; with a non-debug runtime the heap gets corrupted and the program eventually fails elsewhere). Two questions: Is there a way to solve this other then requiring that all code use the DLL runtime? For people who distribute their libraries to third parties, how do you handle this? Do you not use C++ objects in your API? Do you require users of your library to use the DLL runtime? Something else?

  • get and set for class in model - MVC 2 asp.net

    - by bergin
    Hi there, I want to improve the program so it has a proper constructor but also works with the models environment of MVC. I currently have: public void recordDocument(int order_id, string filename, string physical_path, string slug, int bytes) { ArchiveDocument doc = new ArchiveDocument(); doc.order_id = order_id; doc.filename = filename; doc.physical_path = physical_path; doc.slug = slug; doc.bytes = bytes; db.ArchiveDocuments.InsertOnSubmit(doc); } This obviously should be a constructor and should change to the leaner: public void recordDocument(ArchiveDocument doc) { db.ArchiveDocuments.InsertOnSubmit(doc); } with a get & set somewhere else - not sure of the syntax - do I create a partial class? so: creating in the somewhere repository - ArchiveDocument doc = new ArchiveDocument(order_id, idTaggedFilename, physical_path, slug, bytes); and then: namespace ordering.Models { public partial class ArchiveDocument { int order_id, string filename, string physical_path, string slug, int bytes; public archiveDocument(int order_id, string filename, string physical_path, string slug, int bytes){ this.order_id = order_id; etc } } How should I alter the code?

  • Organising UI code in .NET forms

    - by sb3700
    Hi I'm someone who has taught myself programming, and haven't had any formal training in .NET programming. A while back, I started C# in order to develop a GUI program to control sensors, and the project has blossomed. I was just wondering how best to organise the code, particularly UI code, in my forms. My forms currently are a mess, or at least seem a mess to me. I have a constructor which initialises all the parameters and creates events. I have a giant State property, which updates the Enabled state of all my form control as users progress through the application (ie: disconnected, connected, setup, scanning) controlled by a States enum. I have 3-10 private variables accessed through properties, some of which have side-effects in changing the values of form elements. I have a lot of "UpdateXXX" functions to handle UI elements that depend on other UI elements - ie: if a sensor is changed, then change the baud rate drop down list. They are separated into regions I have a lot of events calling these Update functions I have a background worker which does all the scanning and analysis. My problem is this seems like a mess, particularly the State property, and is getting unmaintainable. Also, my application logic code and UI code are in the same file and to some degree, intermingled which seems wrong and means I need to do a lot of scrolling to find what I need. How do you structure your .net forms? Thanks

I know using cstdio is not good practice but that what I am used to and it should work anyway. $ ls -l l.uyvy -rw-r--r-- 1 atilla atilla 614400 2010-04-24 18:11 l.uyvy $ ./a.out l.uyvy Read 0 bytes out of 614400, possibly wrong file code: #include<cstdio> int main(int argc, char* argv[]) { FILE *fp; if(argc<2) { printf("usage: %s <input>\n",argv[0]); return 1; } fp=fopen(argv[1],"rb"); if(!fp) { printf("erör, cannot open %s for reading\n",argv[1]); return -1; } int bytes_read=fread(imgdata,1,2*IMAGE_SIZE,fp); //2bytes per pixel fclose(fp); if(bytes_read < 2*IMAGE_SIZE) { printf("Read %d bytes out of %d, possibly wrong file\n", bytes_read, 2*IMAGE_SIZE); return -1; } return 0; }

  • How should I link two items with MouseMovementListeners?

    - by user1708810
    I'm working on a program that will display two "views" of the same set of items. So I need to have something set up so that when the top down view is changed, the side view is updated (and vice versa). Here's a brief outline of the relevant code so you can get an idea of my structure so far: public class DraggableComponent extends JComponent { //Contains code for MouseMovementListener that makes the item draggable } public class ItemGraphic extends DraggableComponent { //Code to render the graphic } public class Item { private ItemGraphic topGraphic; private ItemGraphic sideGraphic; } I'm able to get each graphic to display fine in my GUI. I can also independently drag each graphic. I'm missing the "linking." Some ideas I've been thinking about: Have one listener for the whole GUI. Loop through each Item and if the cursor is within the bounds of either graphic, move the other graphic. I'm concerned about the efficiency of this method. Multiple "paired" listeners (not quite sure how this would work, but the idea is that each graphic would have a listener for the other paired graphic)

  • Sum of even fibonacci numbers

    - by user300484
    This is a Project Euler problem. If you don't want to see candidate solutions don't look here. Hello you all! im developping an application that will find the sum of all even terms of the fibonacci sequence. The last term of this sequence is 4,000,000 . There is something wrong in my code but I cannot find the problem since it makes sense to me. Can you please help me? using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; namespace ConsoleApplication1 { class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { long[] arr = new long [1000000] ; long i= 2; arr[i-2]=1; arr[i-1]=2; long n= arr[i]; long s=0; for (i=2 ; n <= 4000000; i++) { arr[i] = arr[(i - 1)] + arr[(i - 2)]; } for (long f = 0; f <= arr.Length - 1; f++) { if (arr[f] % 2 == 0) s += arr[f]; } Console.Write(s); Console.Read(); } } }
