  • Using hibernate criteria, is there a way to escape special characters?

    - by Kevin Crowell
For this question, we want to avoid having to write a special query since the query would have to be different across multiple databases. Using only hibernate criteria, we want to be able to escape special characters. This situation is the reason for needing the ability to escape special characters: Assume that we have table 'foo' in the database. Table 'foo' contains only 1 field, called 'name'. The 'name' field can contain characters that may be considered special in a database. Two examples of such a name are 'name_1' and 'name%1'. Both the '_' and '%' are special characters, at least in Oracle. If a user wants to search for one of these examples after they are entered in the database, problems may occur. criterion = Restrictions.ilike("name", searchValue, MatchMode.ANYWHERE); return findByCriteria(null, criterion); In this code, 'searchValue' is the value that the user has given the application to use for its search. If the user wants to search for '%', the user is going to be returned with every 'foo' entry in the database. This is because the '%' character represents the "any number of characters" wildcard for string matching and the SQL code that hibernate produces will look like: select * from foo where name like '%' Is there a way to tell hibernate to escape certain characters, or to create a workaround that is not database type sepecific?

  • Set text highlight colour of Blackberry RichTextField

    - by DaveJohnston
Does anyone know how to set the background colour of just a section of text within a RichTextField on the Blackberry? I already use the offsets, attributes and fonts arrays to make changes to the appearance of certain sections of the text, but I would like to add a highlight colour to the background of one section too. I know there is a protected method called getBackgroundColors that returns an array of colors to be used, which I can overwrite. But I have tried this and that method never seems to get called in my code, I don't actually know how and when the underlying implementation of the RichTextField actually use this method. Any ideas?

  • Algorithm to detect no movable pieces in Stratego.

    - by maleki
I am creating a Stratego Game and am having trouble creating an algorithm that can detect when there are no more possible moves because all your pieces are gone or the remaining pieces are unmovable or trapped by forbidden squares, unmovable pieces, or other trapped pieces. For simplicity you can think of the board as an array of Squares which can contain pieces. Square[][] gameBoard = new Square[10][10] Squares have easily checkable state such as hasPiece(), hasEnemyPiece(), hasUnMovablePiece(), hasMoveablePiece(), isBlocked(). It would also probably be nice if this algorithm wasn't run every time a player moved but maybe checked in the beginning and then only certain conditions were checked when the player moved.

  • How to handle runtime exception on playing audio files?

    - by Maxood
    I have a button that plays an audio file on its click listener. If the button is clicked again and again while the audio file is being played then the app crashes. What's the solution? Here is some code for reference: private OnClickListener btnMercyListener = new OnClickListener() { public void onClick(View v) { // Toast.makeText(getBaseContext(), // "Mercy audio file is being played", // Toast.LENGTH_LONG).show(); if (status==true) { mp.stop(); mp.release(); status = false; } else { mp = MediaPlayer.create(iMEvil.this,R.raw.mercy); //mp.start(); try{ mp.start(); status= true; //mp.release(); }catch(NullPointerException e) { Log.v("MP error",e.toString()); } } mp.setOnCompletionListener(new OnCompletionListener(){ // @Override public void onCompletion(MediaPlayer arg0) { mp.release(); status = false; } } ); } };

  • SmartGWT alternatives

    - by Roger
I have been using SmartGWT but have run into trouble mixing SmartGWT with other frameworks such as Wicket. Infact it has been a bit of a disaster and I regret going with it in the first place. I do not want this question to turn into any type of flame war, so therefore would just like people to list alternatives and their experience with those alternatives.

  • Datanucleus/JDO Level 2 Cache on Google App Engine

    - by Thilo
Is it possible (and does it make sense) to use the JDO Level 2 Cache for the Google App Engine Datastore? First of all, why is there no documentation about this on Google's pages? Are there some problems with it? Do we need to set up limits to protect our memcache quota? According to DataNucleus on Stackoverflow, you can set the following persistence properties: datanucleus.cache.level2.type=javax.cache datanucleus.cache.level2.cacheName={cache name} Is that all? Can we choose any cache name? Other sources on the Internet report using different settings. Also, it seems we need to download the DataNucleus Cache support plugin. Which version would be appropriate? And do we just place it in WEB-INF/lib or does it need more setup to activate it?

  • apache cxf: c error

    - by robinmag
    I tried to deploy the sample application from this tutorial: http://united-coders.com/phillip-steffensen/developing-a-simple-soap-webservice-using-spring-30-apache-cxf-226-and-maven-2 In eclipse everything works fine, but i went to troubles when deploying the service. The cxf-java2ws-plugin throws a ClassNotFoundException for org.springframework.core.NestedRuntimeException. Here is my maven pom build plugin (copy from the example) <plugin> <groupId>org.apache.cxf</groupId> <artifactId>cxf-java2ws-plugin</artifactId> <version>${cxf.version}</version> <dependencies> <dependency> <groupId>org.apache.cxf</groupId> <artifactId>cxf-rt-frontend-jaxws</artifactId> <version>${cxf.version}</version> </dependency> <dependency> <groupId>org.apache.cxf</groupId> <artifactId>cxf-rt-frontend-simple</artifactId> <version>${cxf.version}</version> </dependency> </dependencies> <executions> <execution> <id>process-classes</id> <phase>process-classes</phase> <configuration> <className>vn.vdconline.ws.sso.PersonService</className> <genWsdl>true</genWsdl> <verbose>true</verbose> </configuration> <goals> <goal>java2ws</goal> </goals> </execution> </executions> </plugin> Please tell me if i missed any thing. • Alternative to Nested Loop For Comparison

    - by KGVT
I'm currently writing a program that needs to compare each file in an ArrayList of variable size. Right now, the way I'm doing this is through a nested code loop: if(tempList.size()>1){ for(int i=0;i<=tempList.size()-1;i++) //Nested loops. I should feel dirty? for(int j=i+1;j<=tempList.size()-1;j++){ //*Gets sorted. System.out.println(checkBytes(tempList.get(i), tempList.get(j))); } } I've read a few differing opinions on the necessity of nested loops, and I was wondering if anyone had a more efficient alternative. At a glance, each comparison is going to need to be done, either way, so the performance should be fairly steady, but I'm moderately convinced there's a cleaner way to do this. Any pointers?

  • seam iText integration libraries

    - by Joshua
seam iText integration seems to use older version of iText jars, would it be possible to use the latest iText 5.0.2 specific jars as part of the maven dependencies. Has anyone done this before? http://repository.jboss.org/maven2/org/jboss/seam/jboss-seam-pdf/2.2.0.GA/jboss-seam-pdf-2.2.0.GA.pom http://repository.jboss.org/maven2/com/lowagie/itext/2.1.2/itext-2.1.2.pom The following dependency uses 2.1.2 version of iText, not sure how to make it use the latest version 5.0.2 of iText. <dependency> <groupId>org.jboss.seam</groupId> <artifactId>jboss-seam-pdf</artifactId> <version>${jboss-seam.version}</version> <exclusions> <exclusion> <groupId>org.jboss.seam</groupId> <artifactId>jboss-seam</artifactId> </exclusion> <exclusion> <groupId>org.jboss.seam</groupId> <artifactId>jboss-seam-ui</artifactId> </exclusion> </exclusions> </dependency>

  • Validating XML using XSD with regex pattern

    - by Steel Plume
Hello, I am parsing a XML file against a XSD containing some regex patterns used for checking input data, but only this regex generates an error, even if it passes into the Eclipse XSD plugin: InvalidRegex: Pattern value '(((com|it|org)\.)+(\b[a-z]+[.]{1}\b)+)?[A-Z]{1}[A-Za-z]+' is not a valid regular expression. The reported error was: 'This expression is not supported in the current option setting.'. So, with SAX validator where can I find the fatal "current option setting"?

  • Iteration speed of int vs long

    - by jqno
I have the following two programs: long startTime = System.currentTimeMillis(); for (int i = 0; i < N; i++); long endTime = System.currentTimeMillis(); System.out.println("Elapsed time: " + (endTime - startTime) + " msecs"); and long startTime = System.currentTimeMillis(); for (long i = 0; i < N; i++); long endTime = System.currentTimeMillis(); System.out.println("Elapsed time: " + (endTime - startTime) + " msecs"); Note: the only difference is the type of the loop variable (int and long). When I run this, the first program consistently prints between 0 and 16 msecs, regardless of the value of N. The second takes a lot longer. For N == Integer.MAX_VALUE, it runs in about 1800 msecs on my machine. The run time appears to be more or less linear in N. So why is this? I suppose the JIT-compiler optimizes the int loop to death. And for good reason, because obviously it doesn't do anything. But why doesn't it do so for the long loop as well? A colleague thought we might be measuring the JIT compiler doing its work in the long loop, but since the run time seems to be linear in N, this probably isn't the case.

  • Servlet Filters and the OSGi HttpService

    - by wrumsby
I'm working on an OSGi-based application that uses org.osgi.service.http.HttpService which does not support the use of Servlet Filters. Before I realised that I wouldn't be able to use Servlet Filters I was planning to apply a couple of existing Filters. These Filters set the appropriate HTTP headers to: prevent caching of responses control rendering in IE8 with the X-UA-Compatible header What are my options here? I don't want to use meta elements to control caching since that technique is unreliable. Using a meta element to set the X-UA-Compatible header is probably acceptable, but I'd still be interested in alternative approaches.

  • How do I create interface methods using .tlb types in VS C++?

    - by Steven
Background: The .TLB file contains interfaces written in language 'X'. I don't have .h, .idl, .tlh, or any other header files - just the .TLB file. Language 'X' does not export compatible .h, .idl, etc. I use the VS wizard to add an ATL simple object to my ATL project. I want to add a method to the interface of my simple ATL object that uses one of the .TLB defined types for a parameter. // Something like the following in the .idl file: interface ISomeInterface : IUnknown { HRESULT SomeMethod([in] ITypeFromTLB* aVal); // ITypeFromTLB declared in .TLB file. }; How can I do this? I'm hoping for a wizard, or a line in the .idl interface declaration that would bring in the .tlb information. midl's include (no .tlb), import (no tlb), and importlib (library only) don't seem to provide a solution (I need proxy/stub to be working, so I cannot put this inside the library declaration with the importlib command). Thanks.

  • Stringtemplate: is it ok to Apply Templates, in which HashMap uses, To Multi-Valued Attributes

    - by user1071830
There is two template in my .stg file, and both of them apply on multi-value a HashMap. The HashMap is employed as an injected object. And I need those instance of HashMap can be injected for many times. My trouble is, when I switch to another template, ANTLR seems to consider the second HashMap as a List -- multipul objects and null value. Part of my .stg file shows as follows: tpl_hash(BAR, FOO) ::= << <FOO:foo(); separator="\n"> <BAR:bar(); separator="\n"> >> foo(nn) ::= << foo: <nn.name; null="NULL"> . <nn.national; null="NULL"> >> bar(mm) ::= << bar: <mm.name> @ <mm.national> >> Part of my .g file shows: HashMap hm = new HashMap(); hm.put("name", $name.text); hm.put("national", "German"); tpl_hash.add("FOO",new HashMap(hm)); HashMap hm2 = new HashMap(); hm2.put("name", $name.text); hm2.put("national", "German"); tpl_hash.add("BAR",new HashMap(hm2)); The result I expect is : bar: Kant @ German foo: Russell @ England But, I got: foo: NULL . NULL foo: NULL . NULL bar: @ bar: @ If we replace BAR with FOO, as is, keeping FOO and BAR with identical template, the output is right, like the following. bar: Russell @ German bar: Russell @ German In docs, "synchronized ST add (String name, Object value) in org.stringtemplate.v4.ST" said: "If you send in a List and then inject a single value element, add() copies original list and adds the new value." What about a HashMap? Does ANTLR consider the HashMap, key/value pair access, an object purposely, as a List and as multi-value injected by mistake? Thanks a lot in advance.
