    Hi all I am struggling a little in getting my mapping right. What I have is a single self joined table of look up values of certain types. Each lookup can have a parent, which can be of a different type. For simplicities sake lets take the Country and State example.   • How to animate button text? (loading type of animation) - jquery?

    I got something that I want to do and want to see what you guys think and how can it be implemented. I got a form in a page and the form will submit to itself to perform some process (run functions) in a class. Upon clicking the submit button, I want to animate the button text to “SUBMIT .” -> “SUBMIT ..” -> “SUBMIT …” -> “SUBMIT ….” -> “SUBMIT ….” and then back again. Sort of “animate” the button text. Once the whole process is done, the button text will goes back to be “SUBMIT” text again. Please note that I am not looking for image button solution, meaning that I do not want to implement gif animated button image. Anyone done this before or know how this can be done? I have google but seems nothing of this kind to be found. Thanks! AL

  • How to eliminate NULL fields in TSQL

    I am developing a TSQL query in SSMS 2008 R2. I am trying to develop this query to identify one record / client. Because some of these values are NULL, I am currently doing LEFT JOINS on most of the tables. But the problem with the LEFT JOINs is that now I get 1 record for some clients. But if I change this to INNER JOINs then some clients are excluded entirely because they have NULL values for these columns. How do I limit the query result to just one record / client regardless of NULL values? And if there are non-NULL values then I want it to choose the record with non-NULL values. After that I copied the boot.bin file to my usb and took it to my Windows OS. After this I burned the boot.bin file to boot.img and boot.iso files. Then I created a new virtual machine and named it booter, when it asked for the .iso file of the OS I want to run I gave it the boot.iso file, about which I told above, then I powered on that virtual machine but it gave me this error PXE-M0F: No boot filename received PXE-M0F: Exiting Intel PXE ROM Operating System not found Please tell me what is the main problem and how can I overcome that problem.

Problem: Running a fuzzy-string match over these records will establish some relationships, but not others, even though a human reader could pick them out from context in much larger datasets. How do I find the relationship that suggests #3 is related to #4? Both of them can be easily connected to #1, but not to each other. Is there a (Googlable) name for this kind of data or structure? What kind of algorithm am I looking for? Goal: Given 1,000 headlines, a system that automatically suggests that these 5 items are all probably about the same thing. To be honest, it's been so long since I've programmed I'm at a loss how to properly articulate this problem. (I don't know what I don't know, if that makes sense).     I'm trying to get a stream off port 9999 and write to /dev/xvdf. I'm using Amazon EC2 with the Ubuntu 11.10 server image. By default I log in as 'ubuntu' which has sudo privileges.   • no aparece grub con gpt windows/ubuntu

    I have an asus k55VM. The problem is that once done the partitions to install windows 7 finalize you and then ubuntu 12.10 the grub not to appear. On having created the table of partitions with gparted I did it in format msdos but then on having installed windows gently accepted me and he says to me that I must do it with format gpt therefore I erase the disc in the assistant of installation and believe a partition of 160 gb Later between with live CD to ubuntu and believe other partitions between which, one ext4 for ubuntu... I install and restart. On having restarted the grub does not go out but if the partitions appear of windows. To seeing if someone helps me am desperate. Thank you very much Tengo un asus k55VM. El problema es que una vez hechas las particiones instalar windows 7 ultimate y luego ubuntu 12.10 no aparece el grub. Al crear la tabla de particiones con gparted lo hice en formato msdos pero luego al instalar windows no me acepta y me dice que debo hacerlo con formato gpt por lo tanto borro el disco en el asistente de instalacion y creo una particion de 160 gb Posteriormente entre con live cd a ubuntu y creo otras particiones entre las cuales, un ext4 para ubuntu... Instalo y reinicio. Al reiniciar no sale el grub pero si aparecen las particiones de windows. A ver si alguien me ayuda estoy desesperado. Muchas gracias

  • Ubuntu 12.04 freezes when booting

    Translated I installed Ubuntu 12.04 LTS from the LiveCD, after finalizing the installation process and booting correctly, I applied the pending updates, which asked me to reboot. After rebooting, an error appeared saying "Out of Range". I pressed CTRL+ALT+F1, login to the tty1 terminal and edit the xorg.conf file and add VertRefresh 50.0 - 60.0 to it, which would solve the "Out of Range" problem that was mentioned before. After applying the changed and rebooting again, the following boot screen is all I see now: It freezes there. I even waited 2 hours and nothing happened. Can anybody help? Thank you! Original Instale Ubuntu 12.04 LTS desde el Live CD, al finalizar la instalación inicio el sistema operativo e inicia correctamente, después de aplicar actualizaciones me solicita reiniciar en lo cual acepto. Al volver a iniciar me daba un erro de "Fuera de rango", aprieto CTRL + ALT + F1, me logueo y edito el archivo xorg.conf en la sección Screen y agrego "VertRefresh 50.0 - 60.0", lo cual solucionaría el problema de "Fuera de rango", al aplicar los cambios, vuelvo a iniciar y solamente me aparece la pantalla de inicio (Véase imagen: http://t.bb/fH) y queda colgado, lo deje por lo menos 2 horas así y nada sucedió. ¿Alguien puede ayudarme? Gracias!

But I how you'll bare with me and help me through anyway :D So I'm developing on an advanced search for bicycles. I've got a lot of tables I need to join to find all, let's say, red and brown bikes. One bike may come in more then one color! I've made this query for now: SELECT DISTINCT p.products_id, #simple product id products_name, #product name products_attributes_id, #color id pov.products_options_values_name #color name FROM products p LEFT JOIN products_description pd ON p.products_id = pd.products_id INNER JOIN products_attributes pa ON pa.products_id = p.products_id LEFT JOIN products_options_values pov ON pov.products_options_values_id = pa.options_values_id LEFT JOIN products_options_search pos ON pov.products_options_values_id = pos.products_options_values_id WHERE pos.products_options_search_id = 4 #code for red OR pos.products_options_search_id = 5 #code for brown My first concern is the many joins. The Products table mainly holds product id and it's image and the Products Description table holds more descriptive info such as name (and product ID of course). I then have the Products Options Values table which holds all the colors and their IDs. Products Options Search is containing the color IDs along with a color group ID (products_options_search_id). Red has the color group code 4 (brown is 5). The products and colors have a many-to-many relationship managed inside Products Attributes. So my question is first of all: Is it okay to make so many joins? Is i hurting the performance? Second: If a bike comes in both red and brown, it'll show up twice even though I use SELECT DISTINCT. Think this is because of the INNER JOIN. Is this possible to avoid and do I have to remove the doubles in my PHP code? Third: Bikes can be double colored (i.e. black and blue). This means that there are two rows for that bike. One where it says the color is black and one where is says its blue. (See second question). But if I replace the OR in the WHERE clause it removes both rows, because none of them fulfill the conditions - only the product. What is the workaround for that?     I am using some dell workstations(running WinXP Pro SP 2 & DeepFreeze) for development, but something was recenlty loaded onto these machines that prevents any opengl call(the call locks) from completing(and I know the code works as I have tested it on 'clean' machines, I also tested with simple opengl apps generated by dev-cpp, which will also lock on the dell machines). Update: After some more fiddling, I have discovered a few more kernal hooks, a lot of them are used to nullify data returned by system information calls(such as the remote debugging port), I also managed to find out the what ever is doing this is using madchook.dll(by madshi) to do this, this dll is also injected into every running process(these seem to be some anti debugging code). Also, on the OpenGL side, it seems Direct X is fine/unaffected(I ran one of the DX 9 demo's without problems), so could one of these kernal hooks somehow affect OpenGL?

After the Shrinking database operation, we were able to reduce the size of the database. If you notice the fragmentation, it is considerably high. The major problem with the Shrink operation is that it increases fragmentation of the database to very high value. Higher fragmentation reduces the performance of the database as reading from that particular table becomes very expensive. One of the ways to reduce the fragmentation is to rebuild index on the database. Before rebuilding, the size of the database was 5 MB, and after rebuilding, it is around 20 MB. Regular rebuilding the index is rebuild in the same user database where the index is placed. This usually increases the size of the database. Look at irony of the Shrinking database. One person shrinks the database to gain space (thinking it will help performance), which leads to increase in fragmentation (reducing performance). To reduce the fragmentation, one rebuilds index, which leads to size of the database to increase way more than the original size of the database (before shrinking). Well, by Shrinking, one did not gain what he was looking for usually. Rebuild indexing is not the best suggestion as that will create database grow again. I have always remembered the excellent post from Paul Randal regarding Shrinking the database is bad. I suggest every one to read that for accuracy and interesting conversation. Following script will clean up the database -- Clean up USE MASTER GO ALTER DATABASE ShrinkIsBed SET SINGLE_USER WITH ROLLBACK IMMEDIATE GO DROP DATABASE ShrinkIsBed GO There are few valid cases of the Shrinking database as well, but that is not covered in this blog post. We will cover that area some other time in future. Additionally, one can rebuild index in the tempdb as well, and we will also talk about the same in future.   • Postfix - suspend domain from which deferred status was received?

    Is there a possibility to make Postfix stop trying (for a period of time) to send emails to a domain from which it received a deferred response? Currently my Postfix goes through each address in the queue. Please see the below example. At 09:48:32 the status=deferred appears. After this Postfix should stop trying to send stuff to the yahoo.com domain.
