  • embeding youtube video to content in wysiwyg editor

    i have an editor that is basic microsoft actions: "createlink" "bold" etc. i made page to handle the youtube embeding and it works fine on the website. but in the editor all i can see is the rectangle of the video with nothing in it. the editor is an iframe editable that get the content from another page - if i load that page the youtube is there but inside the editor - is not working. did anybody got that somewhen?

We have two sites: 1) Flex / Flash 2) HTML I think with Flex I can attempt to download http://youtube.com/crossdomain.xml and if it is valid XML assume the site is available But with HTML I dont know how to do it. I cant even think of a 'nice hack'

    I have inserted a video from youtube into a DIV tag, used the actual "embed" code found on youtube site. and used jquery to show/hide the div. when activated, the flash video shows perfectly in the div, when clicked it plays as usual the only problem i have is when someone using a Mac, and clicks on play, the flash video disappears. this happened on many Mac computers regardles of the browser being in use ( none Firefox neither Safari are working ) although i have tested it on all general browsers on windows and it works fine

    When I open a youtube video with firefox I could not find any video file inside ~/.mozilla/firefox/<some_string>.default/Cache/. I also tried with google-chrome like, ps ax | grep flash ls -l /proc/[*PID*]/fd | grep Flash But again /proc/[*PID*]/fd does not have any video like file. ls -l /proc/[*PID*]/fd have some results like lrwx------ 1 root root 64 Nov 9 12:18 22 -> /run/shm/.com.google.Chrome.eOsHNu (deleted) lrwx------ 1 root root 64 Nov 9 12:18 23 -> /run/shm/.com.google.Chrome.p8h6BL (deleted) Result of ls -l /proc/[*PID*]/fd | grep Flash for some videos from other site is like lrwx------ 1 root root 64 Nov 9 12:35 26 -> /home/username/.config/google-chrome/Default/Pepper Data/Shockwave Flash/.com.google.Chrome.QMzxP8 (deleted) But could not be copied. Then what are the places where firefox or google-chrome stores the streaming videos? And is it possible to recover(copy) a video from there to watch them offline? P.S I have other ways(downloaders) to have streaming videos, but my question is very specific.

    If you’ve actually used the internet before, you’ve probably come across a page with an auto-playing YouTube clip, and chances are good it was a rather annoying one. Here’s how to stop them from starting automatically in Chrome. We’ve already told you how to stop them from automatically playing if you’re a Firefox user (best answer: use Flashblock!), but now it’s time for Chrome users to get their turn. Use the Stop Autoplay for YouTube Extension The great thing about this extension is that it stops the video from playing, but it allows it to continue buffering, so when you do feel like playing the video, it’ll already be downloaded—really useful for people with slower internet connections. There’s no UI or anything fancy, just head to the extension page and click the Install button. If you want to get rid of it later, use the Tools –> Extensions menu (or you can type chrome://extensions/ into your address bar), and then click the Uninstall link for that add-on.   Download Stop Autoplay for YouTube [Google Chrome Extensions] Using FlashBlock for Chrome If you really wanted to, you could just disable Flash across the board using FlashBlock for Chrome. Once you’ve installed the extension, you won’t see any Flash elements anywhere, and you’ll have to move your mouse over them and click to enable them each time. When I installed the extension the first time, I noticed that YouTube was already in the allow list.
