IBM a donc ann...

"Utiliser Internet Explorer 6, c'est comme boire du lait périmé", déclare Microsoft dans une campagne demandant la migration vers IE8
Microsoft Australie frappe fort avec une campagne publicitaire dissuasive, qui vise mettre un frein voir stopper l'utilisation de l'un de ses anciens produits : Internet Explorer 6.
L'éditeur conseille la migration vers la version 8, qu'il considère comme le navigateur le plus sécurisé du marché.

I need to know if it's possible on an exchange server to filter outgoing mail and override the from address in certain cases.
We have to set up many exhange users who will only be able to access exchange through the outlook web access. All their outgoing e-mails when received from recipients outside our company should appear to be sent from a single generic address and not from the users' addresses.
Anyone knows whether this is possible or not?
thank you,
Michele
What issues have people encountered with older OS's (2000, XP) and olders versions of Microsoft Office (2000, XP, 2003) with the 'Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack'?
I have a couple of Windows 2000 client PC's encountering different errors when attempting to open .docx or .xlsx documents, some with Office XP and the others with Office 2003.
Reading through forums it appears that the different versions of the compatibility pack, not all were compatible with Windows 2000 (versions 3 & 4 are not). There are also Service Packs for the Compatibility Pack. With these Windows 2000 clients, it seems i need the Compatibility Pack version 2, then to install the Service Packs, yet i'm unable to find a link for version 2 of it.
First error message:
"This is a pre-release version of the Compatibilty Pack and can open pre-release Office 2007 files only."
Is solved below.
Second error message:
"The converter failed to open the file."
My troubleshooting is still on-going.

Hi,
I've just installed Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 in Windows XP SP3
When trying to run MS word or any other office app (Excel, PowerPoint), I get the following message: this application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect
This also happens with other applications, for instance, Acrobat Reader.
A bit of Googling around this error message suggests that this might be due to a mismatch of library versions. In fact, most of the articles and forum messages I found mention a programmer writing an application in Visual C++ and sending it to someone else, who then runs into that error. This is hardly my case !
I looked into Office's files and the manifest file for Excel suggests that Office is trying to use Microsoft VC80.CRT version 8.0.50608.0. However, in my Windows System folder, I can only find the assemblies for 8.0.50727.762
My next step will be trying to find version 8.0.50608.0. How can I find and download it ?
Hi!
How to find items in Outlook inbox by from email?
This version works and finds email:
String sCriteria = "[From] = 'Sebastian Nowak'";
Outlook.Items filteredItems = inbox.Items.Restrict(sCriteria);
This version doesn't work, doesn't find any mail:
String sCriteria = "[From] = '[email protected]'";
Outlook.Items filteredItems = inbox.Items.Restrict(sCriteria);
How do I should search by email from wich mail was sent.
I am trying to write a script that I can run from a rule withing outlook. The goal of this script is to search the email body for a regex pattern, \d{8}-\d{3}\(E\d\) in this case. I want to take that pattern and see if a folder with the name of the match exists and if not create one. I am not super familiar with VBA as I write mostly in python. I have copied and pasted the following bit of code together but at this time I am unable to get the MsgBox to appear when I send an email with 20120812-001(E3) in the body. I have two different versions below.
--version 2--
Sub Filter(Item As Outlook.MailItem)
Dim Matches, Match
Dim RegEx As New RegExp
RegEx.IgnoreCase = True
RegEx.Pattern = "\d{8}-\d{3}(E\d)"
If RegEx.Test(Item.Body) Then
MsgBox "Pattern Detected"
End If
End Sub
--Version 1--
Sub ProcessMessage(myMail As Outlook.MailItem)
Dim strID As String
Dim objNS As Outlook.NameSpace
Dim objMsg As Outlook.MailItem
Dim objMatch As Match
Dim RetStr As String
Set objRegExp = New RegExp
objRegExp.Pattern = "\d{8}-\d{3}\(E\d\)"
objRegExp.IgnoreCase = True
objRegExp.Global = True
strID = myMail.EntryID
Set objNS = Application.GetNamespace("MAPI")
Set objMsg = objNS.GetItemFromID(strID)
MsgBox objMsg.Body
Set objMatch = objRegExp.Execute(objMsg.Body)
MsgBox objMatch
End Sub
I have recently been informed that Microsoft will be
guaranteeing the performance of SQL Server. Yes thats right Microsoft will
guarantee that you will get better performance out of SQL Server that any other
competitor system.
However on the flip side there are also saying that end
users also have to guarantee the performance of SQL Server if they want to use
the next release of SQL Server targeted for 2011 or 2012.
It appears that a recent recruit Mark Smith from
Newcastle, England will be heading a new team that will be making sure you are
running SQL Server on adequate hardware and making sure you are developing your
applications according to best practices. The Performance Enforcement Team
(SQLPET) will be a global group headed by mark that will oversee two other
groups the existing Customer Advisory Team (SQLCAT) and another new team the
Design and Operation Group (SQLDOG).
Mark informed me that the team was originally thought out
during Yukon and was going to be an independent body that went round to
customers making sure they didn’t suffer performance problems. However it was
felt that they needed to wait a few releases until SQL Server was really there.
The original Yukon Independent Performance Enhancement Team (YIPET) has now
become the SQL Performance Enforcement Team (SQLPET). When challenged about the
change from enhancement to enforcement Mark was unwilling to comment. An
anonymous source suggested that "..Microsoft is sick of the bad press SQL Server
gets for performance when the performance problems are normally down to people
developing applications badly and using inadequate hardware..."
Its true that it is very easy to install and run SQL,
unlike other RDMS systems and the flip side is that its also easy to get into
performance problems due to under specified hardware and bad design.
Its not yet confirmed if this enforcement will apply to
all SKUs or just the high end ones. I would personally welcome some level of
architectural and hardware advice service that clients would be able to turn to,
in order to justify getting the appropriate hardware at the start of a project
and not 1 year in when its often too late.
