  • webcam refreshing image in iframe not working IE

    I'm trying to show images from this webcam http://regacam.usz.ch/cgi-bin/guestimage.html on an html page by putting an iframe in pointing to another page that has an image tag in it. But it isn't working in IE (I just see a little cross where the image should be), Firefox is ok. Here the page with the image in: <html> <head> <meta http-euqiv="refresh" content="5"> </head> <body> <img src="http://regacam.usz.ch/cgi-bin/faststream.jpg?stream=full&fps=0.01667&rand=295543" width="200" height="150"/> </body> <html> and the iframe: <div id="rightcontainer"> <iframe id="rightframe" src="zurich.html" name="content" frameborder="0"></iframe> </div> I tried a different webcam elsewhere and that works ok in both browsers. Is there something odd about the one in my example? I got the link in src by right-clicking and copying the image location - is that the right way to go about it?

I have create one base class and all pages is inherited from that class. There i write following lines to set UICULTURE and culture 1. Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentUICulture = CultureInfo.CurrentUICulture.Name; 2. Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentCulture = CultureInfo.CurrentCulture.Name; Question: Suppose my browser language is Swedish(sv-SE) then this code will run because it find CurrentUICulture and CurrentCulture values as sv-SE. Now if suppose browser language is Swedish(sv) only, in that case values will be set as CurrentUICulture = sv; and CurrentCulture = sv-SE Now the problem is that user can able to view all text in Culture neutral resource file that i kept as english while all decimal saperators, currency and other will be appear in swedish. It looks confusing to usr. What would be right approach. I am thinking following solution. Please correct me? 1. i can create extra resource file for sv also. 2. I check value of CurrentUICulture in base class and if it is sv then replace it with sv-SE Please correct me which one is right approach or Is there any other good way of doing?

  • Using MSBuild 4 command line to publish ASP.NET web application

    In previous msbuild we used the target '_CopyWebApplication' in order to build and convert the source of a project into a published site, this worked OK, but wasn't ideal. In .NET 4, the publishing process is somewhat more sophisticated and additionally seems a bit of a black box to understand. Whilst packages look great, I cannot fully understand how they can be harnessed by a build server, the build server would not get any manifest information, and equally, something (msbuild?) is CREATING this manifest information FROM the project file. In our build server, I ideally want to say, here is my csproj file, deploy it by the package configuration 'x'. I'm trying to understand the workflow I need to make this happen. Right now when I use _CopyWebApplication, the result is different to doing a publish from visual studio 2010, primarily that web.config transforms aren't processed, and obviously msdeploy isn't involved at all. Can somebody point me in the right direction, I believe I need to get msbuild to do the equiv of 'Build Deployment Package', and then use msdeploy to deploy this from our build server to our CI testing environments. I know this is a very vague post, but I hope somebody can give me some hints, I'll be continuing research also, so if I make any progress, I'll post my findings here. Thanks in advance, Stephen.

  • UpdateAllViews() from within a worker thread?

    I have a worker thread in a class that is owned by a ChildView. (I intend to move this to the Doc eventually.) When the worker thread completes a task I want all the views to be updated. How can I make a call to tell the Doc to issue an UpdateAllViews()? Or is there a better approach? Thank you. Added by OP: I am looking for a simple solution. The App is running on a single user, single CPU computer and does not need network (or Internet) access. There is nothing to cause a deadlock. I think I would like to have the worker thread post (or send) a message to cause the views to update. Everything I read about threading seems way more complicated than what I need - and, yes, I understand that all those precautions are necessary for applications that are running in multiprocessor, multiuser, client-server systems, etc. But none of those apply in my situation. I am just stuck at getting the right combination of getting the window handle, posting the message and responding to the message in the right functions and classes to compile and function at all.

  • MS Access: Why is ADODB.Recordset.BatchUpdate so much slower than Application.ImportXML?

    I'm trying to run the code below to insert a whole lot of records (from a file with a weird file format) into my Access 2003 database from VBA. After many, many experiments, this code is the fastest I've been able to come up with: it does 10000 records in about 15 seconds on my machine. At least 14.5 of those seconds (ie. almost all the time) is in the single call to UpdateBatch. I've read elsewhere that the JET engine doesn't support UpdateBatch. So maybe there's a better way to do it. Now, I would just think the JET engine is plain slow, but that can't be it. After generating the 'testy' table with the code below, I right clicked it, picked Export, and saved it as XML. Then I right clicked, picked Import, and reloaded the XML. Total time to import the XML file? Less than one second, ie. at least 15x faster. Surely there's an efficient way to insert data into Access that doesn't require writing a temp file?     I have installed SQL Server 2008 R2 on Windows XP. In installation process I selected 'SQL Server and Windows Authentication Mode' When I click right button of the mouse in SQL Server Management Studio on Server - Security tab 'SQL server and Windows Authentication Mode' is selected. But when I click on my Database - Properties - View connection properties Authentication Method is set on Windows Authentication. To my database was added one user1 with password user1. But I can't log in to my database from C# (Visual Studio 2008) because error occurs: Login failed for user 'user1' The user is not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection What isn't right ? When I get: string connectionStr = @"Data Source=rmzcmp\SQLExpress;Initial Catalog=ResourcesTmp;Integrated Security=True"; I have following error: {"Cannot open database \"ResourcesTmp\" requested by the login.   • Multiple forms on a single page

    I've got an app that's in invite-only beta right now. Problem is, I can't get the invite system to work. :( On my root page there's a login form (which works just fine), and I'm trying to add a "request invite" form on the same page. I started doing it by putting the form for InviteRequest (ActiveRecord) inside a partial, in the "views" folder for "InviteRequest".   • Get current PHP executable from within script?

    I want to run a PHP cli program from within PHP cli. On some machines where this will run, both php4 and php5 are installed. If I run the outer program as php5 outer.php I want the inner script to be run with the same php version. In Perl, I would use $^X to get the perl executable. It appears there's no such variable in PHP? Right now, I'm using $_SERVER['_'], because bash (and zsh) set the environment variable $_ to the last-run program. But, I'd rather not rely on a shell-specific idiom. UPDATE: Version differences are but one problem. If PHP isn't in PATH, for example, or isn't the first version found in PATH, the suggestions to find the version information won't help. Additionally, csh and variants appear to not set the $_ environment variable for their processes, so the workaround isn't applicable there. UPDATE 2: I was using $_SERVER['_'], until I discovered that it doesn't do the right thing under xargs (which makes sense... zsh sets it to the command it ran, which is xargs, not php5, and xargs doesn't change the variable). Falling back to using: $version = explode('.', phpversion()); $phpcli = "php{$version[0]}";

    Hi, I am just trying to fiddle around what is the best and shortest way to describe two simple instructions with C-like pseudo code. The extract instruction is defined as follows: extract rd, rs, imm This instruction extracts the appropriate byte from the 32-bit source register rs and right justifies it in the destination register. The byte is specified by imm and thus can take the values 0 (for the least-significant byte) and 3 (for the most-significant byte). rd = 0x0; // zero-extend result, ie to make sure bits 31 to 8 are set to zero in the result rd = (rs && (0xff << imm)) >> imm; // this extracts the approriate byte and stores it in rd The insert instruction can be regarded as the inverse operation and it takes a right justified byte from the source register rs and deposits it in the appropriate byte of the destination register rd; again, this byte is determined by the value of imm tmp = 0x0 XOR (rs << imm)) // shift the byte to the appropriate byte determined by imm rd = (rd && (0x00 << imm)) // set appropriate byte to zero in rd rd = rd XOR tmp // XOR the byte into the destination register This looks all a bit horrible, so I wonder if there is a little bit a more elegant way to describe this bahaviour in C-like style ;) Many thanks, Claus

  • How should I manage my many-to-many relationships?

    Hello all, I have a database containing a couple tables: files and users. This relationship is many-to-many, so I also have a table called users_files_ref which holds foreign keys to both of the above tables. Here's the schema of each table: files - file_id, file_name users - user_id, user_name users_files_ref - user_file_ref_id, user_id, file_id I'm using Codeigniter to build a file host application, and I'm right in the middle of adding the functionality that enables users to upload files. This is where I'm running into my problem. Once I add a file to the files table, I will need that new file's id to update the users_files_ref table. Right now I'm adding the record to the files table, and then I imagined I'd run a query to grab the last file added, so that I can get the ID, and then use that ID to insert the new users_files_ref record. I know this will work on a small scale, but I imagine there is a better way of managing these records, especially in a heavy-traffic scenario. I am new to relational database stuff but have been around PHP for a while, so please bear with me here :-) I have primary and foreign keys set up correctly for the files, users, and users_files_ref tables, I'm just wondering how to manage the adding of file records for this scenario?   • question/problem regarding assigning an array of char *

    Hi I'm working with C and I have a question about assigning pointers. struct foo { int _bar; char * _car[MAXINT]; // this is meant to be an array of char * so that it can hold pointers to names of cars } int foofunc (void * arg) { int bar; char * car[MAXINT]; struct foo thing = (struct foo *) arg; bar = arg->_bar; // this works fine car = arg->_car; // this gives compiler errors of incompatible types in assignment } car and _car have same declaration so why am I getting an error about incompatible types? My guess is that it has something to do with them being pointers (because they are pointers to arrays of char *, right?) but I don't see why that is a problem. when i declared char * car; instead of char * car[MAXINT]; it compiles fine. but I don't see how that would be useful to me later when I need to access certain info using index, it would be very annoying to access that info later. in fact, I'm not even sure if I am going about the right way, maybe there is a better way to store a bunch of strings instead of using array of char *?

  • Authenticated user cannot log in, "The user does not exist or is not unique."

    This is a weird one. I have a WSS3 site, no MOSS, with a custom membership and role provider that authenticates against CRM. All the users have also been added to the site user list so once logged in they have correct display names. On dev and stage everything works fine, but on UAT the users can't get past the login screen. The login screen is working, in that if you type an incorrect password for a user it comes back with the right message, meaning the custom provider is working fine. If you fill the login form in correctly you are immediately redirected straight back to the login screen, with the IIS logs showing that the login screen sent the authenticated user to the site and then was sent back. Setting the site to allow anonymous access shows that the user is not logged in on the site side after authenticating correctly. The ULS logs show: The user does not exist or is not unique. Found 1 trusted forests nzct.local. Found 0 trusted domains Adding logging code to the site I have verified that the membership provider is correctly set, and can find the user when asked. Also, when accessing the site user list, I can find the SP user with the right name. It just refuses to set the current user to be the authenticated user. Weird.

    Hello, how made with JavaScript+PHP+MYSQL and Google Maps API v2 dynamic load of markers? atm I have map follow example http://googlemapsapi.martinpearman.co.uk/infusions/google_maps_api/basic_page.php?map_id=8 but my marker_data_01.php (where are all markers listed - look code of example) have atm 4MB and will only have more, and more. So the question is: how load only this markers to marker_data_01.php (of some other modification of it, can be on same file as map, meaningless, I load it all from MySQL atm) what I look now: so for example (I dont know what number will good but I write this only for show what I wanna made OR JUST something like it), so top left corner for example have position: 10, top right corner for example have position: 30, bottom left corner for example have position: 5, bottom right corner for example have position: 15. -- so load only this markers what are in this box 10-30-5-15 with for example GET, and when I move map for example to 17-12-48-20 box then made next GET request and with this mysql quote and download next markers that what I see now, with this I can have map with unlimited markers, and when will be a lot of markers then clustering can link them, so with this ppl dont will need do "preload" of all markers DB (what have 4mb now and will have more), but only download that what they see at the moment, I know that is possible because a lot sites have it but I am not master of code langs, I know only a bit php and mysql (and html) :) // sorry for my english

    First of -yes this IS a homework- but it's primarily a theoretical question rather than a practical one, I am simply asking a confirmation if I am thinking correctly or any hints if I am not. I have been asked to compile a simple Sudoku solver (on Prolog but that is not so important right now) with the only limitation being that it must utilize a heuristic function using Best-First Algorithm. The only heuristic function I have been able to come up with is explained below: 1. Select an empty cell. 1a. If there are no empty cells and there is a solution return solution. Else return No. 2. Find all possible values it can hold. %% It can't take values currently assigned to cells on the same line/column/box. 3. Set to all those values a heuristic number starting from 1. 4. Pick the value whose heuristic number is the lowest && you haven't checked yet. 4a. If there are no more values return no. 5. If a solution is not found: GoTo 1. Else Return Solution. // I am sorry for errors in this "pseudo code." If you want any clarification let me know. So am I doing this right or is there any other way around and mine is false?   • Open a buffer as a vertical split in VIM

    If you are editing a file in VIM and then you need to open an existing buffer (e.g. from your buffer list: :buffers) how can you open it in a vertical split? I know that you already can open it with a normal split like: :sbuffer N Wehere N is the buffer number you want, however, the above opens that N buffer horizontally, not vertically. I'm also aware that you can change the window placement after opening and have a Vertical Split like so: Ctrl-W H Ctrl-W L Which will vertically split the window to the right or the left. It seems to me that if there is a sbuffer there should be a vsbuffer but that doesn't exist (not that I am aware of) Also, please note that I am not looking for a plugin to solve this question. I know about a wealth of plugins that will allow you to do this. I am sure I might be missing something that is already there. EDIT: In the best spirit of collaboration, I have created a simple Function with a Mapping if someone else stumbles across this issue and do not want to install a plugin: Function: " Vertical Split Buffer Function function VerticalSplitBuffer(buffer) execute "vert belowright sb" a:buffer endfunction Mapping: " Vertical Split Buffer Mapping command -nargs=1 Vbuffer call VerticalSplitBuffer(<f-args>) This accomplishes the task of opening a buffer in a right split, so for buffer 1, you would call it like: :Vbuffer 1

    Hi, I've got a left rounded corner box - textbox - right rounded corner box which all make up part of a search box. All's well in FF, Chrome, IE8 but not IE7. I've checked it using the debug tool and and I have tried a number of options, none of which want to work at the moment, so I am hoping someone might know what this issue (bug) might be please? I work in an institute and we have to establish hundreds of result sheets every 2 months. It's really difficult to do that and different handwritings is also an important issue.   • Get available screen area in autohotkey

    I'm trying to write a few simple AutoHotkey scripts for moving windows around, and I'm having trouble getting the correct screen size values. I'm trying to get the size of the usable area on the screen (generally the full screen resolution minus the taskbar, and maybe any other docked windows like the sidebar in Vista). Neither of the methods I've found for getting the screen width seems to work. None of the 3 methods I found to get the screen size are giving me the right values. Here's the test script I'm using (running on XP with the taskbar on the bottom at its default size): #7:: WinMove A,,0,0,A_ScreenWidth,A_ScreenHeight return #8:: ;SM_CXMAXIMIZED and SM_CYMAXIMIZED SysGet, ScreenWidth, 61 SysGet, ScreenHeight, 62 WinMove A,,0,0,ScreenWidth,ScreenHeight return #9:: ;SM_CXFULLSCREEN and SM_CYFULLSCREEN SysGet, ScreenWidth, 16 SysGet, ScreenHeight, 17 WinMove A,,0,0,ScreenWidth,ScreenHeight return #7 causes the window to take up the entire resolution, so it overlaps the taskbar. #8 causes the width to be larger than the resolution (I see the window's right edge show up on my secondary monitor) and the height is slightly too large, so the window partially overlaps the taskbar area. Looks like this is correct except for not taking into account the window decorations at the edges. #9 seems to have the correct width, but the height is too short. It looks like it's subtracting the taskbar's height from the resolution's height, but then subtracting another 30 pixels from it. I could just use what I have in #9 and add 30 to the height I get, but that feels too much like a hack that would break in other configurations. It seems like there has to be a way to get the available screen size properly, but I can't find it in AutoHotkey. For reference, this seems to give me what I need in Java: Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getScreenSize();

    Hi. I am very close to completing my first iphone app and it has been a joy. I am trying to add running timecode using the current time via an NSTimer displaying the current time (NSDate) on a UILabel. NSDate is working fine for me, showing hour, minute, second, milliseconds. But instead of milliseconds, I need to show 24 frames per second. The problem is that I need the frames per second to be synced 100% with the hour, minute and second, so I can't add the frames in a separate timer. I tried that and had it working but the frame timer was not running in sync with the date timer. Can anyone help me out with this? Is there a way to customize NSDateFormatter so that I can have a date timer formatted with 24 frames per second? Right now I'm limited to formatting just hours, minutes, seconds, and milliseconds.     I have been trying to capture stdout and stderr output from a DLL compiled in MSVC++ that my Delphi app statically links to, but so far have been unsuccessful. procedure Test; var fs: TFileStream; begin fs := TFileStream.Create('C:\temp\output.log', fmCreate or fmShareDenyWrite); SetStdHandle(STD_OUTPUT_HANDLE, fs.Handle); SetStdHandle(STD_ERROR_HANDLE, fs.Handle); dllFunc(0); // Writes to stdout in MSVC++ console app, but not here // fs.Length is always zero fs.Free; end; Thought I was on the right track, but it does not work. Is SetStdHandle() enough? Is TFileStream the right thing to use here? Am I using TFileStream properly for SetStdHandle()? Is it possible that the DLL sets its stdout/stderr handles when the app loads? If so, where is the best place to use SetStdHandle() or equivalent? Any help would be appreciated.

  • jquery ui tabs problem

    hi good people, been a while I have had my hands full with a cold but I came back to a problem we never found an answer to, it the homepage of a site I am workin and I said that my tabs would just scatter on a resolution less than mine or around it but not quite. I am on a 1280x800 screen and it displays no problem but as soon as I drop to 1024x768 or 1280x1024 or anything like that this is what it looks like. I wanted to post the code but it means posting alot of HTML and I don't think that will be healthy. hopefully the screenshot will. some one said a while back that my tabs were too big so i reduced them and still. here is the screen shot though: HERE IS THE CSS THAT POWERS THE ADVERTS.   • Converting Makefile to Visual Studio Terminology Questions (First time using VS)

    I am an old Unix guy who is converting a makefile based project over to Microsoft Visual Studio, I got tasked with this because I understand the Makefile which chokes VS's automatic import tools. I am sure there is a better way than what I am doing but we are making things fit into the customer's environment and that is driving my choices. So gmake is not a valid answer, even if it is the right one ;-) I just have a couple of questions on terminology that I think will be easy for an experienced (or junior) user to answer. Presently, a make all will generate several executables and a shared library. How should I structure this? Is it one "solution" with multiple projects? There is a body of common code (say 50%) that is shared between the various executable targets that is not in a formal library, if that matters. I thought I could just set up the first executable and then add targets for the others, but that does not seem to work. I know I am working against the tool, so what is the right way? I am also using Visual C++ 2010 Express to try and do this so that may also be a problem if support for multiple targets is not supported without using Visual C++ 2010 (insert superlative). Thanks, this is really one of those questions that should be answerable by a quick chat with the resident Windows Developer at the water cooler. So, I am asking at the virtual water cooler, I also spring for a virtual frosty beverage after work.

  • Development/runtime Licensing mechanism for a C# class library?

    I'm developing a .Net class library (a data provider) and I'm starting to think about how I would handle licensing the library to prospective purchasers. By licensing, I mean the mechanics of trying to prevent my library from being used by those who haven't purchased it, not the software license (i.e., Apache, Gnu, etc). I've never dealt with licensing, and in the past, I've always developed apps, not libraries. I don't want to make things difficult for my customers; know it is not possible to make it ironclad. Just some mechanism that gives me decent protection without making the customer jump through hoops or gnash their teeth. I think the mechanism would check for a valid license when the class is being used in development mode, and not in runtime mode (when the customer's software is released to their customers). I think libraries are typically sold per developer, but I'm not sure how that could be accomplished without making the mechanism odious for my customers; maybe that gets left to the honor system. I Googled this and found many approaches. Ideally, I'd like to do something that is generally accepted and common, the "right" way class libraries are licensed, if that exists, rather than making my customers deal with yet another license mechanism. A firm push in the right direction will be greatly appreciated!
