  • Javamail performance

    - by cbz
Hi, I've been using javamail to retrieve mails from IMAP server (currently GMail). Javamail retrieves list of messages (only ids) in a particular folder from server very fast, but when I actually fetch message (only envelop not even contents) it takes around 1 to 2 seconds for each message. What are the techniques should be used for fast retrieval?

  • Best way to get database result as XML?

    - by John
I am querying a database and getting the result set as an arraylist. I would like to return this list as XML, but not sure how to do it. Does anyone have an example of returning a result set as XML and is using an Arraylist the best way to do this?

  • Access Database using do.cmd openform where clasue - returning all values

    - by primus285
DoCmd.OpenForm "Database Search", acFormDS, , srcLastName & "AND " & srcFirstName This is only a small sample of the where clause - there are many more terms. First, there is a set of If, Then type tings up top that set the variable srcLastName and srcFirstName to some value. These are not the problem and work just fine. The trouble is getting them to return all values (for instance if you only want to search by one, on neither(return full database list)) Thus far I have settled for (in the if then section): srcLastName = "[Lastname] =" & Chr(34) & cboLastName & Chr(34) - to search for something and srcLastName = "[Lastname] <" & Chr(34) & "Nuthin" & Chr(34) - to return everything (not equal to an absurd and mispelled database term.) The trouble is that data that is null is also not returned. If I have a null firstname, it will not show up in any search period. is there a term I can set [lastname] and [firstname] equal to that will return EVERYTHING (null, open, data, numbers, wierd stuff and otherwise) in a search an SQL form of "give me everything shes got scotty" if you will. the real issue here comes from the data entry - if I could just know that the people would enter everything 100% of the time, this code would work. but forget to enter the persons age or whatever, and it wont return that entry. So far, the only other solution I have come up with is to put a counter in each if then statement. The count will go up by one for each thing that is being searched by. Then if the count is = 1, then I can search by something like just DoCmd.OpenForm "Database Search", acFormDS, , srcLastName or DoCmd.OpenForm "Database Search", acFormDS, , srcFirstName then revert back to the DoCmd.OpenForm "Database Search", acFormDS, , srcLastName & "AND " & srcFirstName when the count is 2 or more truoble here is that it only works for one (unless I so wanted to create a custon list of 2 combined, 3 combined, 4 combined, but that is not happening)

  • IText can't keep rows together, second row spans multiple pages but won't stick with first row.

    - by J2SE31
I am having trouble keeping my first and second rows of my main PDFPTable together using IText. My first row consists of a PDFPTable with some basic search criteria. My second row consists of a PdfPTable that contains all of the tabulated results. Everytime the tabulated results becomes too big and spans multiple pages, it is kicked to the second page automatically rather than showing up directly below the search criteria and then paging to the next page. How can I avoid this problem? I have tried using setSplitRows(false), but I simply get a blank document (see commented lines 117 and 170). How can I keep my tabulated data (second row) up on the first page? An example of my code is shown below (you should be able to just copy/paste). public class TestHelper{ private TestEventHelper helper; public TestHelper(){ super(); helper = new TestEventHelper(); } public TestEventHelper getHelper() { return helper; } public void setHelper(TestEventHelper helper) { this.helper = helper; } public static void main(String[] args){ TestHelper test = new TestHelper(); TestEventHelper helper = test.getHelper(); FileOutputStream file = null; • servlet-mapping for Wordpress on Tomcat using Quercus

    - by Jeremy
    I have a web app running in Tomcat and I'm trying to add a Wordpress blog to it using Quercus. It works if I hit a .php file in my blog, but links to my articles are structured like http://myapp.com/blog/2011/01/my-first-post/ which don't work. Below is my web.xml: <welcome-file-list> <welcome-file>index.do</welcome-file> <welcome-file>index.php</welcome-file> </welcome-file-list> <context-param> <param-name>contextConfigLocation</param-name> <param-value>/WEB-INF/myapp-service.xml</param-value> </context-param> <listener> <listener-class>org.springframework.web.context.ContextLoaderListener</listener-class> </listener> <servlet> <servlet-name>myapp</servlet-name> <servlet-class>org.springframework.web.servlet.DispatcherServlet</servlet-class> <load-on-startup>1</load-on-startup> </servlet> <servlet-mapping> <servlet-name>myapp</servlet-name> <url-pattern>*.do</url-pattern> </servlet-mapping> <servlet> <servlet-name>Quercus Servlet</servlet-name> <servlet-class>com.caucho.quercus.servlet.QuercusServlet</servlet-class> </servlet> <servlet-mapping> <servlet-name>Quercus Servlet</servlet-name> <url-pattern>*.php</url-pattern> </servlet-mapping> I've tried many combos of url-pattern such as /blog, /blog/*, etc. I can't get anything to work. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

  • How to update strongly typed Html.DropDownList using Jquery

    - by Remnant
I have a webpage with two radiobuttons and a dropdownlist as follows: <div class="sectionheader">Course <div class="dropdown"><%=Html.DropDownList("CourseSelection", Model.CourseList, new { @class = "dropdown" })%> </div> <div class="radiobuttons"><label><%=Html.RadioButton("CourseType", "Advanced", false )%> Advanced </label></div> <div class="radiobuttons"><label><%=Html.RadioButton("CourseType", "Beginner", true )%> Beginner </label></div> </div> The dropdownlist is strongly typed and populated with Model.CourseList (NB - on the first page load, 'Beginner' is the default selection and the dropdown shows the beginner course options accordingly) What I want to be able to do is to update the DropDownList based on which radiobutton is selected i.e. if 'Advanced' selected then show one list of course options in dropdown, and if 'Beginner' selected then show another list of courses. The code I would like to call sits within my Controller: public JsonResult UpdateDropDown(string courseType) { IDropDownList dropdownlistRepository = new DropDownListRepository(); IEnumerable<SelectListItem> courseList = dropdownlistRepository.GetCourseList(courseType); return Json(courseList); } Edit - Updated below to show latest position Using examples provided in jQuery in Action, I now have the following jQuery code: $('.radiobuttons input:radio').click(function() { var courseType = $(this).val(); //Get selected courseType from radiobutton var dropdownList = $(".dropdown"); //Ref for dropdownlist $.getJSON("/ByCourse/UpdateDropDown", { courseType: courseType }, function(data) { $(dropdownList).loadSelect(data); }); }); The loadSelect function is taken straight from the book and is as follows: (function($) { $.fn.emptySelect = function() { return this.each(function() { if (this.tagName == 'SELECT') this.options.length = 0; }); } $.fn.loadSelect = function(optionsDataArray) { return this.emptySelect().each(function() { if (this.tagName == 'SELECT') { var selectElement = this; $.each(optionsDataArray, function(index, optionData) { var option = new Option(optionData.Text, optionData.Value); if ($.browser.msie) { selectElement.add(option); } else { selectElement.add(option, null); } }); } }); } })(jQuery); 1 day+ later I still cannot get this to work. Assuming the jQuery code is correct then I can only think that the issue is with retrieving the actual data with $getJSON. I have verified that JsonResult UpdateDropDown does actually retrieve valid data. What am I missing? Assembly reference? (NB: I have MicrosoftAjax.js and MicrosoftMvcAjax.js in my head tags of the master page Should JsonResult be ActionResult? (I have seen both used in samples on web) Do I need to register route Controller/UpdateDropDown in Global.asax? Any further guidance would be appreciated.

  • Parsing a file with hierarchical structure in Python

    - by Kevin Stargel
I'm trying to parse the output from a tool into a data structure but I'm having some difficulty getting things right. The file looks like this: Fruits Apple Auxiliary Core Extras Banana Something Coconut Vegetables Eggplant Rutabaga You can see that top-level items are indented by one space, and items beneath that are indented by two spaces for each level. The items are also in alphabetical order. How do I turn the file into a Python list that's something like ["Fruits", "Fruits/Apple", "Fruits/Banana", ..., "Vegetables", "Vegetables/Eggplant", "Vegetables/Rutabaga"]?

  • Flex+JPA/Hibernate+BlazeDS+MySQL how to debug this monster?!

    - by Zenzen
Ok so I'm making a "simple" web app using the technologies from the topic, recently I found http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flex/articles/flex_hibernate.html so I'm following it and I try to apply it to my app, the only difference being I'm working on a Mac and I'm using MAMP for the database (so no command line for me). The thing is I'm having some trouble with retrieving/connecting to the database. I have the remoting-config.xml, persistance.xml, a News.java class (my Entity), a NewsService.java class, a News.as class - all just like in the tutorial. I have of course this line in one of my .mxmls: <mx:RemoteObject id="loaderService" destination="newsService" result="handleLoadResult(event)" fault="handleFault(event)" showBusyCursor="true" /> And my remoting-config.xml looks like this (well part of it): <destination id="newsService"> <properties><source>com.gamelist.news.NewsService</source></properties> </destination> NewsService has a method: public List<News> getLatestNews() { EntityManagerFactory emf = Persistence.createEntityManagerFactory(PERSISTENCE_UNIT); EntityManager em = emf.createEntityManager(); Query findLatestQuery = em.createNamedQuery("news.findLatest"); List<News> news = findLatestQuery.getResultList(); return news; } And the named query is in the News class: @Entity @Table(name="GLT_NEWS") @NamedQueries({ @NamedQuery(name="news.findLatest", query="from GLT_NEWS order by new_date_added limit 5 ") }) The handledLoadResult looks like this: private function handleLoadResult(ev:ResultEvent):void { newsList = ev.result as ArrayCollection; newsRecords = newsList.length; } Where: [Bindable] private var newsList:ArrayCollection = new ArrayCollection(); But when I try to trigger: loaderService.getLatestNews(); nothing happens, newsList is empty. Few things I need to point out: 1) as I said I didn't install mysql manually, but I'm using MAMP (yes, the server's running), could this cause some trouble? 2) I already have a "gladm" database and I have a "GLT_NEWS" table with all the fields, is this bad? Basically the question is how am I suppose to debug this thing so I can find the mistake I'm making? I know that loadData() is executed (did a trace()), but I have no idea what happens with loaderService.getLatestNews()... @EDIT: ok so I see I'm getting an error in the "fault handler" which says "Error: Client.Error.MessageSend - Channel.Connect.Failed error NetConnection.Call.Failed: HTTP: Status 404: url: 'http://localhost:8080/WebContent/messagebroker/amf' - "

  • wxPython ListCtrl Column Ignores Specific Fields

    - by g.d.d.c
I'm rewriting this post to clarify some things and provide a full class definition for the Virtual List I'm having trouble with. The class is defined like so: from wx import ListCtrl, LC_REPORT, LC_VIRTUAL, LC_HRULES, LC_VRULES, \ EVT_LIST_COL_CLICK, EVT_LIST_CACHE_HINT, EVT_LIST_COL_RIGHT_CLICK, \ ImageList, IMAGE_LIST_SMALL, Menu, MenuItem, NewId, ITEM_CHECK, Frame, \ EVT_MENU class VirtualList(ListCtrl): def __init__(self, parent, datasource = None, style = LC_REPORT | LC_VIRTUAL | LC_HRULES | LC_VRULES): ListCtrl.__init__(self, parent, style = style) self.columns = [] self.il = ImageList(16, 16) self.Bind(EVT_LIST_CACHE_HINT, self.CheckCache) self.Bind(EVT_LIST_COL_CLICK, self.OnSort) if datasource is not None: self.datasource = datasource self.Bind(EVT_LIST_COL_RIGHT_CLICK, self.ShowAvailableColumns) self.datasource.list = self self.Populate() def SetDatasource(self, datasource): self.datasource = datasource def CheckCache(self, event): self.datasource.UpdateCache(event.GetCacheFrom(), event.GetCacheTo()) def OnGetItemText(self, item, col): return self.datasource.GetItem(item, self.columns[col]) def OnGetItemImage(self, item): return self.datasource.GetImg(item) def OnSort(self, event): self.datasource.SortByColumn(self.columns[event.Column]) self.Refresh() def UpdateCount(self): self.SetItemCount(self.datasource.GetCount()) def Populate(self): self.UpdateCount() self.datasource.MakeImgList(self.il) self.SetImageList(self.il, IMAGE_LIST_SMALL) self.ShowColumns() def ShowColumns(self): for col, (text, visible) in enumerate(self.datasource.GetColumnHeaders()): if visible: self.columns.append(text) self.InsertColumn(col, text, width = -2) def Filter(self, filter): self.datasource.Filter(filter) self.UpdateCount() self.Refresh() def ShowAvailableColumns(self, evt): colMenu = Menu() self.id2item = {} for idx, (text, visible) in enumerate(self.datasource.columns): id = NewId() self.id2item[id] = (idx, visible, text) item = MenuItem(colMenu, id, text, kind = ITEM_CHECK) colMenu.AppendItem(item) EVT_MENU(colMenu, id, self.ColumnToggle) item.Check(visible) Frame(self, -1).PopupMenu(colMenu) colMenu.Destroy() def ColumnToggle(self, evt): toggled = self.id2item[evt.GetId()] if toggled[1]: idx = self.columns.index(toggled[2]) self.datasource.columns[toggled[0]] = (self.datasource.columns[toggled[0]][0], False) self.DeleteColumn(idx) self.columns.pop(idx) else: self.datasource.columns[toggled[0]] = (self.datasource.columns[toggled[0]][0], True) idx = self.datasource.GetColumnHeaders().index((toggled[2], True)) self.columns.insert(idx, toggled[2]) self.InsertColumn(idx, toggled[2], width = -2) self.datasource.SaveColumns() I've added functions that allow for Column Toggling which facilitate my description of the issue I'm encountering. On the 3rd instance of this class in my application the Column at Index 1 will not display String values. Integer values are displayed properly. If I add print statements to my OnGetItemText method the values show up in my console properly. This behavior is not present in the first two instances of this class, and my class does not contain any type checking code with respect to value display. It was suggested by someone on the wxPython users' group that I create a standalone sample that demonstrates this issue if I can. I'm working on that, but have not yet had time to create a sample that does not rely on database access. Any suggestions or advice would be most appreciated. I'm tearing my hair out on this one.

  • Convert p4 move to p4 integrate

    - by pmarden
Is there a simple way to convert a (large) list of p4 moves to p4 integrates? There are a lot of pending modifications to the moved files, so just reverting and instead integrating isn't an option. Perforce won't let you just revert the deleted file (which would leave the desired integration behind).

  • Non RBAC User Roles and Permissions System: a role with properties

    - by micha12
We are currently designing a User Roles and Permissions System in our web application (ASP.NET), and it seems that we have several cases that do no fit within the classical Role-Based Access Control (RBAC). I will post several questions, each devoted to a particular case. This is my second question (the first question is here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2839797/non-rbac-user-roles-and-permissions-system-checking-the-users-city). We have the following case: we need to implement a Manager role in our web application. However, a Manager can belong to one or several companies (within a big group of companies for which we are creating this web app). Say, there can be “Manager of companies A and B”, “Manager of company C”, etc. Depending on the companies that the Manager belongs, he has access to certain operations: for example, he can communicate with clients only of those companies that he belongs to. That is, “Manager of companies A and B” can only have contacts with clients of companies A and B, and not with those of company C. He can also view clients’ details pages of companies A and B and not of C, etc. It seems that this case falls within the RBAC. However, this is not really the case. We will need to create a ManagerRole class that will have a Companies property – that is, this will not be just a role as a collection of permissions (like in the classical RBAC), but a role with properties! This was just one example of a role having properties. There will be others: for example, an Administrator role that will also belong to a number of companies and will also have other custom properties. This means that we will a hierarchy or roles classes: class Role – base class class ManagerRole : Role List Companies class AdministratorRole : Role List Companies Other properties We investigated pure RBAC and its implementation in several systems, and found no systems featuring a hierarchy or roles, each having custom properties. In RBAC, roles are just collections of permissions. We could model our cases using permission with properties, like ManagerPermission, AdministratorPermission, but this has a lot of drawbacks, the main being that we will not be able to assign a role like “Manager of Companies A and B” to a user directly, but will have to create a role containing a ManagerPermission for companies A and B… Moreover, a "Manager" seems to be rather a "role" (position in the company) rather than a "permission" from the linguistic point of view. Would be grateful for any ideas on this subject, as well as any experience in this field! Thank you.

  • Monotouch - ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib giving an error

    - by Claudio
    Hy guys, I'm trying to generate a Zip File with ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib library but it's throwing a really weird error. Code: public static void ZipFiles(string inputFolderPath, string outputPathAndFile, string password) { ArrayList ar = GenerateFileList(inputFolderPath); // generate file list int TrimLength = (Directory.GetParent(inputFolderPath)).ToString().Length; TrimLength += 1; //remove '\' FileStream ostream; byte[] obuffer; ZipOutputStream oZipStream = new ZipOutputStream(File.Create(outputPathAndFile)); // create zip stream if (password != null && password != String.Empty) oZipStream.Password = password; oZipStream.SetLevel(9); // maximum compression ZipEntry oZipEntry; foreach (string Fil in ar) // for each file, generate a zipentry { oZipEntry = new ZipEntry(Fil.Remove(0, TrimLength)); oZipStream.PutNextEntry(oZipEntry); if (!Fil.EndsWith(@"/")) // if a file ends with '/' its a directory { ostream = File.OpenRead(Fil); obuffer = new byte[ostream.Length]; ostream.Read(obuffer, 0, obuffer.Length); oZipStream.Write(obuffer, 0, obuffer.Length); } } oZipStream.Finish(); oZipStream.Close(); } private static ArrayList GenerateFileList(string Dir) { ArrayList fils = new ArrayList(); bool Empty = true; foreach (string file in Directory.GetFiles(Dir,"*.xml")) // add each file in directory { fils.Add(file); Empty = false; } if (Empty) { if (Directory.GetDirectories(Dir).Length == 0) // if directory is completely empty, add it { fils.Add(Dir + @"/"); } } foreach (string dirs in Directory.GetDirectories(Dir)) // recursive { foreach (object obj in GenerateFileList(dirs)) { fils.Add(obj); } } return fils; // return file list } Error: Unhandled Exception: System.NotSupportedException: CodePage 437 not supported at System.Text.Encoding.GetEncoding (Int32 codepage) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.Zip.ZipConstants.ConvertToArray (System.String str) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.Zip.ZipConstants.ConvertToArray (Int32 flags, System.String str) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.Zip.ZipOutputStream.PutNextEntry (ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.Zip.ZipEntry entry) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at WpfPrototype1.MainInvoicesView.ZipFiles (System.String inputFolderPath, System.String outputPathAndFile, System.String password) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at WpfPrototype1.MainInvoicesView.<ViewDidLoad>m__6 (System.Object , System.EventArgs ) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at MonoTouch.UIKit.UIControlEventProxy.Activated () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at (wrapper managed-to-native) MonoTouch.UIKit.UIApplication:UIApplicationMain (int,string[],intptr,intptr) at MonoTouch.UIKit.UIApplication.Main (System.String[] args, System.String principalClassName, System.String delegateClassName) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at MonoTouch.UIKit.UIApplication.Main (System.String[] args) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at WpfPrototype1.Application.Main (System.String[] args) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 How can I make this code support CodePage 437?
