ASP.NET MVC View Not posting back to Post method and expecting a parameterless Constructor?

Hi, I am trying to post back some data using a viewmodel i have created and it works for me for one of the projects.But I am doin this right now public ActionResult Foo(string userkey) { vm.Value="Xvalue"; return View(vm); } [HttpPost] public ActionResult Foo( MyViewModel vm) { // process input if (inputOK) string value=vm.Value return RedirectToAction("Index"); return View(); } public class MyViewModel { public string Value { get; set; } public SomeClass newobj {get;set;} } public class SomeClass { public int id{get;set;} public string str{get;set;} } So it on debugging never goes into the parameter method for Post although on the view i have added a form and a button that submits and the page inherits from the viewmodel.I get an error saying it expects a parameterless constructor how do I fix this ? . I wrote an post method with no parameters and it does go into that method

Ping remote server and wait to get data

Hi I'm building my first application for android and I've reached a point where I can't find a solution even have no idea what to search for in Google. So the problem: I am pinging a remote server with GET request through the application passing some parameters like file_id. Then the server gives back confirmation if the file exists or error otherwise, both in plain text. The error string is $$$ERROR$$$. Actually the confirmation is JSON string that holds the path to the file. If the file doesn't exists on the server it generated the error message and start downloading the file and processing it which normally takes 10-30 seconds. What would be the best way to check if the file is ready for download? I have DownloadFile class that extends AsyncTask but before I reach the point to download the file I need the URL which is dependant on the previous request which is in the main class in the UI thread. MVC EditorFor bind to type in array

I have a ViewModel that, among other properties, contains an array of 'EmailAddress' objects. EmailAddress itself has properties such as "Address", and "IsPrimary". For example, I'm displaying data using @Html.DisplayFor(model => model.User.UserName) and @Html.DisplayFor(model => model.User.Comment) I also have a section on the page that lists all of the EmailAddress objects associated with the user: @if(Model.EmailAddresses.Length > 0) { foreach (var address in Model.EmailAddresses) { <div> @Html.DisplayFor(model => address.Address) </div> } } else { <div class="center">User does not have any email addresses.</div> } My problem is that I would like to show an "Add Email Address" form above the list of email addresses. I've even thought of adding a "dummy" property to my ViewModel of type EmailAddress just so that I can bind to that in my EditorFor - but that seems to be a really bad hack. Fastest way to check a List<T> for a date

I am not sure of the best way to do this. I have started by incrementing through all the days of a range and checking to see if the date is in the list by iterating through the entire list each time. My project allows users to create custom css for our flex app. In regards to compiling the CSS into SWFs on the server side: Should I use the flex2.compiler.css.Compiler class in mxmlc-3.5.0.12683.jar? Or Should I invoke mxmlc from Runtime.getRuntime().exec()? The css.Compiler class is not very well documented. Does anyone have any examples that use this? For the Runtime exec method, what is the best way to package mxmlc into the maven build so its available to the server at runtime?

Starting new transaction in Spring bean

We have: @Transactional(propagation = Propagation.REQUIRED) public class MyClass implementes MyInterface { ... MyInterface has a single method: go(). When go() executes we start a new transaction which commits/rollbacks when the method is complete - this is fine. Now let's say in go() we call a private method in MyClass that has @Transactional(propagation = Propagation.REQUIRES_NEW. It seems that Spring "ignores" the REQUIRES_NEW annotation and does not start a new transaction. I believe this is because Spring AOP operates on the interface level (MyInterface) and does not intercept any calls to MyClass methods. Is this correct? Is there any way to start a new transaction within the go() transaction? Is the only way to call another Spring managed bean that has transactions configured as REQUIRES_NEW? Update: Adding that when clients execute go() they do so via a reference to the interface, not the class: @Autowired MyInterface impl; impl.go();

I never really did specified comments for the arrays in an array, but now i need to do that and dont know how. $array = array('id' => 'test', 'class' => 'tester', 'options' => array('option1' => 1, 'option2' => 2)) So how do i comment this array in the correct way for @var and @param comments? I could do this like this, but dunno, if this is correct: @param string $array['id'] @param string $array['class'] @param int $array['options']['option1'] But how to this for the var part? Why is TreeSet<T> an internal type in .NET?

So, I was just digging around Reflector trying to find the implementation details of HashSet (out of sheer curiosity based on the answer to another question here) and noticed the following: internal class TreeSet<T> : ICollection<T>, IEnumerable<T>, ICollection, IEnumerable, ISerializable, IDeserializationCallback Without looking too deep into the details, it looks like a Self-Balancing Binary Search Tree. My question is, is there anybody out there with the insight as to why this class is internal? Is it simply because the other collection types use it internally and hide the complexities of a BST from the general masses...or am I way off base?

C# Fake Enum TypeInitializationException

I'm trying to create a class that works as a flexible enum. I came with this idea, with 2 additional static methods that allow me to add new members to that list and get only members from that list. public class LikeEnum { private static List<LikeEnum> list = new List<LikeEnum>() { new LikeEnum("One"), new LikeEnum("Two") }; private string value; private LikeEnum(string value) { this.value = value; } } Unfortunately the List list is only initialized as null so this doesn't work... Lost Windows 7 boot after EasyBCD with EFI

I've got a Lenovo Y580 with a 64GB SSD and a 1TB HDD setup using GPT and setup to boot from (U?)EFI. I was trying to get my Linux Mint installation on the Windows boot manager using EasyBCD (I didn't realise EFI but it wiped my boot partition/loader and I cannot seem to get Windows back (and I still can't get a bootable Linux Mint). Using the System Recovery utility, Startup Repair can't "see" windows (it might be because I'm using a 7 Pro disk to recover Home Premium?). In command prompt, Bootrec tools don't do anything and bootsect can't run because it says that it's for BIOS only and I've booted with EFI. I can see the EFI data on the 200mb SSD partition using diskpart but I don't know how to add Windows back onto whatever bootloader I have/need. At the moment the only options I can see are: Do a fresh install of Windows and hope that the setup remains as fast as the default one (the SSD is some kind of cache for Windows but I can't quite see how it works given that the rest of the SSD is unpartitioned space). This seems like overkill given that Windows was working fine til EasyBCD deleted it. Try forcing BIOS mode and see if that somehow magically fixes things Try converting from GPT to MBR to try and use the bootrec/bootsect tools (and maybe back again) which seems like a really bad idea. Anyone have any ideas?

WPF Binding not updating when binded object is updated

I'm trying to bind to a custom control like so: <my:GanttChartTaskListView Name="ganttChartTaskListView1" ItemsSource="{Binding Source={x:Static local:TaskCollection.taskList}}" /> In my WPF Window constructor I add add an item to my taskList, when it loads I can see that item in my custom control, however, when I subsequently add items it does not update. I tried setting Mode=TwoWay, however, then it says the "Path" is required and I'm not familiar with binding like that (this is new to me). Here is my TaskCollection class: namespace ProjectManager { public static class TaskCollection { private static List<TaskItem> _taskList = new List<TaskItem>(); public static List<TaskItem> taskList { get {return _taskList; } set { _taskList = value; } } } } Any ideas? Is there a better / easier way to do this?

Problem with JQuery swapImage();

Hello!~ On my articles page (http://www.adrtimes.squarespace.com/articles) I have each entry start with an image that changes on rollover. This is working fine. However, on my homepage (http://www.adrtimes.squarespace.com), I am loading in the 2 most recent articles that are not categorized as video, and the 2 most recent articles that are tagged as video. I am using jQuery load() to pull in the content from the articles page. Everything works ok with that except the swapImage rollovers on the homepage. i tried including the swapImage function as callbacks but only one group or the other will rollover properly, not both groups of content. I'm not sure what the problem is!! Parent-Child relation while using object data source

Hello guys I am experiencing with a class generator I've written, which generates a class for each table in database with each table field as a property and such. Before that, I used to add a typed dataset to the project and add some tables to it. It automatically detected the relationship between tables and when I added a parent table as data source of a datagrid, I could add another datagrid and use the foreing key data member of it's bindingsource to fill it, and when someone moved the focus on parent datagrid, the data in child datagrid would change accordingly. Now that I have my classes, I add an object as data source for my 2 datagrids, but obviously it doesn't detect a parent child relation. But It'd really help if I could have that foreign key relation in my object datasources. Is there any way to have that relation in object datasource?

DrawString only works in top-left part of form vb.net

My problem is that it will ONLY draw the string in the upper-left portion of the form, roughly 260x260 starting at 0,0. It literally cuts off the text if it goes beyond. Why is this? Shouldn't it work for the entire form?

I have a model called "Course" with a foreign key called "teacher" to the default User model that Django provides: class Course(models.Model): ... teacher = models.ForeignKey(User, related_name='courses_taught') When I create a model form to edit information for individual courses, the possible users for the teacher field appear in this long select menu of user names. These users are ordered by ID, which is of meager use to me. How can I order these users by their last names? change the string representation of the User class to be "Firstname Lastname (username)" instead of "username"?

Retrieving the MethodInfo of of the correct overload of a generic method

I have this type that contains two overloads of a generic method. I like to retrieve one of the overloads (with the Func<T> parameter) using reflection. The problem however is that I can't find the correct parameter type to supply the Type.GetMethod(string, Type[]) method with.
