  • How to serve a webpage on connection to WiFi network

    Hi, I would like to be able to serve a local webpage (on a LAN) when someone connects to a WiFi network. This happens quite often in libraries, cafes etc, so i'm sure it can be done, but I have no idea how and can't seem to find much through searching the web.     By "professional" I mean here: The kind you can get at a datacenter for your server The kind you can get at an office that would be good enough for hosting web and mail server with low to medium traffic. (Please ignore other aspects of "the self-hosting problem" and focus only on broadband connection quality). Another way to frame this question would be "what parameters should office broadband have to compare to a datacenter-provided one for the purposes of self-hosting".   • IPMSG problem in windows 7 ?

    I have always used IPMSG for chatting across the LAN. It has been working well under Windows XP, but after I installed Windows 7 it has stopped working. When I am connected to the internet I cannot see anyone else on the local network. As soon as I disconnect the internet I can see everyone on the local network perfectly fine. I am using the latest versino of IPMSG. Does anyone have any ideas or knowledge of this problem?

    I need IPTables , like everyone else, but I don't use it enough to really keep my knowledge complete and fresh. The setup utility in centos is too basic (doesn't seem to allow me to open up custom ports, just standard ones). Suggestions of a tool or utility to simply iptables management? I looked over APF (http://www.rfxn.com/projects/advanced-policy-firewall/). Is that something that is useful? thanks!

    I have a problem, a bit related to: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/855826/c-winforms-transparent-control-allowing-clickthrough Contrary to him i would like to capture mouseevents on my program, while still retaining a "window" to whats behind my program. color.transparent doesnt work, and transparencykey just delivers mouse events to whatever is underneath. Using a panel with transparent backcolor or with a backcolor equal to transparencykey does not give the desired effect. Plz help me :)

    the context i use Spooler Events API to capture events generated by the spooler when a user prints a document ie. FindFirstPrinterChangeNotification FindNextPrinterChangeNotification the problem When I print a document on the network printers from my machine no events are captured by the monitor (uses the fuctions above) Notice Events ARE generated OK for local printers, only Network Printers are problematic!
