  • C# WebClient - View source question

    I'm using a C# WebClient to post login details to a page and read the all the results. The page I am trying to load includes flash (which, in the browser, translates into HTML). I'm guessing it's flash to avoid being picked up by search engines??? The flash I am interested in is just text (not an image/video) etc and when I "View Selection Source" in firefox I do actually see the text, within HTML, that I want to see. (Interestingly when I view the source for the whole page I do not see the text, within HTML, that I want to see. Could this be related?) Currently after I have posted my login details, and loaded the HTML back, I see the page which does NOT show the flash HTML (as if I had viewed source for the whole page). Thanks in advance, Jim PS: I should point out that the POST is actually working, my log in is successful.

    I have created a method that takes two Collection<String> as input and copies one to the other. However, I am not sure if I should check if the collections contain the same elements before I start copying, or if I should just copy regardless. This is the method: /** * Copies from one collection to the other. Or should I just comment this block out if(target.containsAll(dest)) return; dest.clear(); Set<String> uniqueSet = new LinkedHashSet<String>(target.size()); for(String f : target) if(!"".equals(f)) uniqueSet.add(f); dest.addAll(uniqueSet); } Maybe it is faster to just remove the if(target.containsAll(dest)) return; Because this method will iterate over the entire collection anyways.

    here how it's goes: You have an array size n and a constant k (whatever) you can assume the the array of int type tho it kind be of whatever type but just for the clearane let assume it's an integer. Describe an algorithm that finds if there is an element/s that repeat itself at least n/k times... if there is return one - do it in linear time running O(n) Imortent: now the catch do this algorithm or even pseuo-code using a constant usage of memory and running over the array only TWICE!!!

    Hi all, Wheter or not the meta keywords are very usefull i'm still tobbing with this issue: I have some standard keywords to describe my site: tv,webtv,radio,watch,listen,live. Now those keywords are shown on every of my 600+ pages as base-keywords, and then I append page specific keywords after them. Is this right or wrong?     This is my assembly program which is just a function to swap *x *y. So first argument from main is address of x which is in 8(%ebp) and second one is address of y is in 12(%ebp). The program does swap x and y. I need 7 lines for doing this. can you make it 6 lines and there is a condition you can use only %eax, %ecx, and %edx 3 registers. I think about it so much, but I can't make it 6 lines. There must be a way, isn't it?     I'm developing an iPhone app that uses the Extended Audio File Services. I try to use ExtAudioFileRead to read the audio file, and store the data in an AudioBufferList structure. AudioBufferList is defined as: struct AudioBufferList { UInt32 mNumberBuffers; AudioBuffer mBuffers[1]; }; typedef struct AudioBufferList AudioBufferList; and AudioBuffer is defined as struct AudioBuffer { UInt32 mNumberChannels; UInt32 mDataByteSize; void* mData; }; typedef struct AudioBuffer AudioBuffer; I want to manipulate the mData but I wonder what does the void* mean. Why is it void*? How can I decide what data type is actually stored in mData?

  • Question about Content Delivery Networks CDN

    I've built a javascript code that my clients will be installing on their website and they will be calling a file from my server. I'm wondering if it would be better to host the javascript file on a CDN, instead of on my server? The benefits would be better response time and a much higher chance that it will always be available. However, In the future, if the CDN was acquired or went out of business I would have a number of clients linking to a file that doesn't exist. Is there any way to prevent this from happening?

    Hi, I did some tests on pow(exponent) method. Unfortunately, my math skills are not strong enough to handle the following problem. I'm using this code: BigInteger.valueOf(2).pow(var); Results: var | time in ms 2000000 | 11450 2500000 | 12471 3000000 | 22379 3500000 | 32147 4000000 | 46270 4500000 | 31459 5000000 | 49922 See? 2,500,000 exponent is calculated almost as fast as 2,000,000. 4,500,000 is calculated much faster then 4,000,000. Why is that? The sr object is not in scope in ErrHandler so sr.Close() cannot be called. Does the Using block cleanup any resources automatically even if there is an error?

    I am trying to build a website with mysql and php. This is the first site I have attempted so I want to write a little plan and get some feedback. The site allows users to add some text in a text field as a “comment”. Once the comment has been entered into the site it is added to the database where it can be voted for by other users. When a new comment has been added to the database it needs to create a new page, e.g. www.xxxxx.com/commentname or www.xxxxxx.com/?id=99981. There will be a list of "Comments" in the database along with the number of votes for each comment. The home page will have two functions. 1) Allow users to add a "comment" 2) Display two tables, each with 20 rows containing most "popular comments" and "recent comments" Each comment will generate its one page where the comment will be displayed. Here users can read the comment and Vote for the comment if they wish. Please help me out by explaining how to do the following. -Generate a new page whenever a comment is added to the database -Add a vote to the vote count in the comment database. -Display the top 20 most popular comments as per number of votes.

    I am reading "Java Concurrency in practice" and looking at the example code on page 51. This states that if a thread has references to a shared object then other threads may be able to access that object before the constructor has finished executing. I have tried to put this into practice and so I wrote this code thinking that if I ran it enough times a RuntimeException("World is f*cked") would occur. But it isn't doing. Is this a case of the Java spec not guaranting something but my particular implementation of java guaranteeing it for me? (java version: 1.5.0 on Ubuntu) Or have I misread something in the book?     URL: Link (1) According to this wesbite .. you cannot implement Abstract classes but derive from them. This makes sense and I have read this many times. Like an interface, you cannot implement an instance of an abstract class, however you can implement methods, fields, and properties in the abstract class that can be used by the child class. But on MSDN URL: TextWriter CLass on MSDN TextWriter is an abstract class but it has two constructors defined ... and according to the MS 70-536 book, the following statement is valid: TextWriter tw = new File.CreateText("myFile.Txt") The static file class and it's CreateText method is fine by me as I have studied it on MSDN but can somebody explain this little contradiction I have found? Surely I am not the first? Why is instantaion of base abstract classes possible????

    I'm using Papeclip(2.3.1.1) with Rails(2.3.5). In my view I write so: <%= link_to image_tag(p.attachment.url(:small)), p.attachment.url(:original) %, and it becomes into href="/system/attachments/1/original/1.JPG?1270134617 (for a tag) src="/system/attachments/1/small/1.JPG?1270134617" (for img tag). And when I click on the picture, my browser (Firefox) offers me to save or open picture and I want to just open picture in browser without any dialogs. I think it's because link contains ?1270134617 after file's name. How can I fix it?

    Hi, I'm just starting to use the TestHelpers in MvcContrib. I want to try and test an action method on my controller that itself tests if IsAjaxRequest() is true. I've used the same code that is shown in the TestHelper samples to set up the TestControllerBuilder _controller = new StarsController(); _builder = new TestControllerBuilder(); _builder.InitializeController(_controller); So that _controller has all the faked/mocked HttpContext inside it, which is really great. But what do I do now to force IsAjaxRequest() on the internally faked Request object to return true?
