• How to get paperclip to delete files

  I have a model that is using Paperclip to manage the file. After I delete the model, I obviously would like the file to be deleted as well, but I cannot seem to find out how to get the file deleted using Paperclip. I have tried self.sourcefile = nil if !sourcefile.dirty? in the before_destroy def, but that had no effect. (I want to be able to have it delete the file locally when I test, and then on S3 when I use that - So i need a pure paperclip solution) Any ideas?

Is there a reasonable way to present a list control easily in a djangoforms.ModelForm? Once a user logs in I want to be able to check if that user is in the list for any number of SharableUserAsset class "records", how do I do that? Does user evaluate as a match to an email address or is there a way to look up a valid user against an email address?

  Hello, I have a user control called HomePage.xaml. I'm creating a model instance (using MVVM pattern) in the code behind file in the constructor of page as MainViewModel model = new MainViewModel(); I have a button in HomePage.xaml which I want to bind to the command inside MainViewModel called GetData() and want to populate the data in datagrid. MainViewModel has an ObservableCollection which I would use to bind the data in datagrid. Populating the data in datagrid without binding command works fine. • undefined local variable or method 'acts_as_gmappable'

  I attempted to install the gmaps4rails gem. I added gem 'gmaps4rails' to my Gemfile, and ran 'bundle install. It said that my bundle installed successfully. I can find "Using gmaps4rails (0.8.8)" with 'gem list'. I added the specified columns to my users table with rake db:migrate and added acts_as_gmappable and the gmaps4rails_address method to my User model. Visiting pages that involve the user model gives me "undefined local variable or method 'acts_as_gmappable'"error. Is there something that I am missing? For greater context, the code I am using is from the Rails 3 Tutorial. OS X 10.6.6 ruby 1.8.7 rails 3.0.7 passenger 3.0.7

  I'm trying to write a rails application. I'm a ruby-on-rails newbie. I have a User model and a Hobby model. class User < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :hobbies end class Hobby < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :user end During the new user registration, I have used a text box where I enter a value for hobby. Then, when I press a button 'Add hobby', a method in UsersController add_hobby is to be called where I intend to append the value entered for hobby by user to the user i.e @user.hobbies << hobby However, my problem is that the user object has not been saved yet, so there is no way to access a particular user object. How do I get around this problem ?

  so i am trying to save to a join table in a habtm relationship, but i am having problems. from my view, i pass in a group id with: = link_to "Create New User", new_user_url(:group => 1) User model (user.rb) class User < ActiveRecord::Base has_and_belongs_to_many :user_groups accepts_nested_attributes_for :user_groups end UserGroups model (user_groups.rb) class UserGroup < ActiveRecord::Base has_and_belongs_to_many :users end users_controller.rb def new @user = User.new(:user_group_ids => params[:group]) end in the new user view, i have access to the User.user_groups object, however when i submit the form, not only does it not save into my join table (user_groups_users), but the object is no longer there. all the other objects & attributes of my User object are persistent except for the user group. i just started learning rails, so maybe i am missing something conceptually here, but i have been really struggling with this.

• Using the stadard Java logging, is it possible to restart logs after a certain period?

  I have some java code that will be running as an importer for data for a much larger project. The initial logging code was done with the java.util.logging classes, so I'd like to keep it if possible, but it seems to be a little inadequate now given he amount of data passing through the importer. Often times in the system, the importer will get data that the main system doesn't have information for or doesn't match the system's data so it is ignored but a message is written to the log about what information was dropped and why it wasn't imported. The problem is that this tends to grow in size very quickly, so we'd like to be able to start a fresh log daily or weekly. Does anybody have an idea if this can be done in the logging classes or would I have to switch to log4j or custom? Thanks for any help!

• Sessionstate not being saved between pages

  Hi, i am having problems with an asp.net c# site whereby i am setting a session state object to true and then redirecting to another page that needs to check the value of the session state object and it is null. Sometimes it is set correctly and other times is is simply null. When i debug on my local machine it works perfectly every time. Only when i upload to my web server does this temperamental behaviour happen. As it is based around the security of the site it is obviously important that the session data be valid and accurate every time. Is session state data unreliable? AFAIK its set to inproc, cookieless, 30 min timeout, vanilla installation of IIS. Does anyone have any suggestions? Perhaps i need to thread.sleep inbetween the storing of the session data and the reading? NB: the time between the write and the read is about 70ms.. ample time for the data to be written to RAM.....

• Reading from a database located in the Program Files folder using ODBC

  We have an application that stores its database files in a subfolder of the Program Files directory. These files are redirected to the VirtualStore in Vista and Windows 7. We represent data from the database using Microsoft DataReports (VB6). So far so good. But we now want to use Crystal Reports XI to represent data from the database. Our idea is to NOT pass this data to CR from our program, but to have CR retreive it from the database using a a system DSN through ODBC. In this way we hope to present our users with more flexibility in designing their own reports. What we do want to ensure though is that these system DSNs are configured correctly when the user installs our program or when the program calls the Crystal Report. Is there a smart way to do this using System variables for instance, instead of having to write a routine that checks for OS-version, whether UAC is enabled on the OS, whether the write restrictions on the Program Files folder have been lifted, etc and then adapts he System DSN to point to either the C:\Program Files\OurApp\Data folder, or the C:\Users\User\AppData\VirtualStore\Program Files\OurApp\Data folder? Suggestions for an entirely different approach are welcome too!

• HDFS some datanodes of cluster are suddenly disconnected while reducers are running

  I have 8 slave computers and 1 master computer for running Hadoop (ver 0.21) some datanodes of cluster are suddenly disconnected while I was running MapReduce code on 10GB data After all mappers finished and around 80% of reducers was processed, randomly one or more datanode disconned from network. and then the other datanodes start to disappear from network even if I killed the MapReduce job when I found some datanode was disconnected. • How to access and work with XML from API in C#

  My goal is to pull XML data from the API and load it to a sql server database. The frist step I'm attempting here is to access the data and display it. Once I get this to work I'll loop through each row and insert the values into a sql server database. When I try to run the code below nothing happens and when I paste the url directly into the browser I get this error "2010-03-08 04:24:17 Wallet exhausted: retry after 2010-03-08 05:23:58. 2010-03-08 05:23:58" To me it seems that every iteration of the foreach loop makes a call to the site and I get blocked for an hour. Am I retrieving data from the API in an incorrect manner? Is there some way to load the data into memory or an array then loop through that? • php tree structure problem

  Hi All, I have all my data in my database. It has following 4 columns id source_clust target_clust result_clust 1 7 72 649 2 9 572 650 3 649 454 651 4 32 650 435 This data is like tree structure. source_clust and target_clust generate target_clust. target_clust can be source_clust or target_clust to make a new target_clust. Is there any php function or class that I can use to generate tree structure for my data???? I see this MySql site they are doing exactly what I need but I couldn't find how to implement that query in my data. Thanks !
