• Using Bazaar (BZR) on AFT or SMB mounted server not wroking

  Has anyone been able to get BZR working on a mounted AFT or SMB mounted share? I've tried both (The AFP volume is actually coming off an Xserver.) and neither work. I have BZR 2.0.0 and am running it on a Mac with 10.5. I keep getting an error like this bzr: ERROR: Could not acquire lock "/Volumes/joeserver/Documents/bzr/remote_test/.bzr/checkout/dirstate": [Errno 45] Operation not supported I googled around a bit but only found a fairly stale (2007) bug report on launchad.com (Bug #313625 to be specific.) Any ideas?

  I just setup Outlook.com to run on a custom domain. The web interface works well but when I connect it to Outlook 2013 I get the following error: There are too many devices syncing with this account. To sync using Outlook, try removing another device that is connected with this account such as a phone or another computer. File: outlook\pstprx\storeas\utils\airsyncstatuscodes.h Line: 88 HTTP/1.1 200 OK FolderStatus: 177 To re-try press F9... Error Code: 0x80004005 I've done my home work, using Google, and found that it is often due to having 3 or 4 devices connected to an account with 50+ folders. My account is empty, no email or folder, and is not synced with any devices, I confirmed that on http://devices.live.com. I'm out of option, any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

• Remote Desktop app can't connect through VPN or through RDP load balancer

  Using the regular Remote Desktop Client (in the desktop environment) I can connect just fine to remote servers when connected through Cisco VPN or when accessing a server behind a load balancer. When using the Remote Desktop app in the Modern UI, I can't do either of these things. Trying to connect to a remote server that's on a private network fails with: Can't find server, make sure the name and domain are correct and try again And connecting to a server that's behind an RDP load balancer fails with the following error, after accepting credentials: Because of a protocol error, this session will be disconnected. Please try connecting to the remote PC again Is there some way to use the Remote Desktop app in these situations, or am I just out of luck?

  I have a 2GB RAR file that contains a 9GB video file. I'm using a FAT32 file system. Now I want to unzip that file but after 4GB I get an error due to the FAT32 file size limit. Now I want to know that how I can extract that video? I know that one way is to convert my partition to NTFS but I don't want to follow that way. I've also tried 7-zip but that again gives error after 4GB. One other way is to split that file but I don't know how I can split a video file that is zipped. So any idea please? How can I get rid of this problem.

• Run a script with Apache2 in a certain directory

  I am trying to run WebMCP on an Apache2 server. It's got 2 executable files, which I have in /opt/webmcp/cgi-bin/webmcp.lua and /opt/webmcp/cgi-bin/webmcp-wrapper.lua If I run the wrapper from a position that is not /opt/webmcp/cgi-bin it says it cannot find webmcp.lua and gives a 500 error. If I run it from the correct directory it works. My server has webmcp.lua set as directoryindex and it's giving 500 error. It may be because of this problem? /opt/webmcp/cgi-bin/ is already set as documentroot, and is accessible by www-data.

  I have installed Apache 2.4.3(OpenSSL 1.0.0j) on a machine and trying to do SSLCompression off in the ssl.conf file throws an error: Syntax error on line 219 of /etc/httpd/conf.d/ssl.conf: Invalid command 'SSLCompression', perhaps misspelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration What could be wrong here? If it helps, I installed mod_ssl(2.4). Is that enough or is something more to be done to configure Apache with mod_ssl. I tried phpinfo() in php, and mod_ssl is reflected in the Loaded Modules section.

• How do I compile mercurial 1.5.2 on debian?

  I downloaded the files for Mercurial 1.5.2 from http://packages.debian.org/sid/mercurial (mercurial_1.5.2-1.debian.tar.gz, mercurial_1.5.2-1.dsc and mercurial_1.5.2.orig.tar.gz). How do I get a .deb package out of these? I tried to follow the instructions at http://www.debian.org/doc/maint-guide/ch-build.en.html but they don't work. I tried to unpack the two archives and run dpkg-buildpackage or debian/rules build but that fails with: dh --with quilt clean dh_testdir debian/rules override_dh_auto_clean make[1]: Entering directory `/home/user/packages/mercurial-deb' cp -a mercurial/__version__.py mercurial/__version__.py.save cp: cannot stat `mercurial/__version__.py': No such file or directory make[1]: *** [override_dh_auto_clean] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/user/packages/mercurial-deb' make: *** [clean] Error 2 That's because the directory mercurial is inside mercurial_1.5.2/.   I am trying to use encfs in reverse mode. I understand that the passphase is used to encrypt a key which is then stored encrypted into the encfs6.xml file. What I do not understand is the following. Create en encrypted virtual fs of a folder by using passphrase A unmount this folder. Delete all contents including the encfs6.xml file If you then try to do the same with another passphrse I would expect that a new encfs6.xml would be created. However I get the following error message: "Error decoding volume key, password incorrect" So I wonder, what volume key is incorrect, I thought it was in the encfs6.xml file ?

• How can I fix puppet refusing to start and asking for "master.pp"?

  I'm using the very latest version of puppet and have been following the Apress "Pro Puppet" guide step by step. I have installed puppet sudo aptitude install ruby libshadow-ruby1.8 sudo aptitude install puppet puppetmaster facter I have edited /etc/puppet/puppet.conf to include certname [master] certname=puppet.mydomain.com I have edited /etc/hosts and added the following line 127.0.0.1 puppet.mydomain.com puppet I have set the hostname of the server echo "puppet.mydomain.com" > /etc/hostname hostname -F /etc/hostname And then I try and run puppet from the command line. puppet master --verbose --no-daemonize And puppet gives me this error: Could not parse for environment production: Could not find file /master.pp I'm running all commands with sudo and the last line of the error message always says that it can't find master.pp and the path before it is to my current working directory. What am I doing wrong? I should also mention that I don't have a DNS record set up for puppet.mydomain.com - I saw some online documentation mentioning this might be a problem - however I was fairly sure that the hosts file would let me get around that.

Can someone point me in the right direction ? I've read the documentation , as it is, and it seems kind of sparse for a SysV init replacement... but whatever just need to add this job to the list, run it, and get on with what's left of my life... • Using mod_wsgi with mpm_itk: socket permission issue

  I'm using mod_itk as MPM for increased security in shared environment. I also have a Firefox Sync Server within one of the VHosts I host. That vhost is restricted to a certain user via AssignUserId user group. The problem is that the socket /var/run/wsgi...whatever.sock is chmodded srwx------ and owned by Apache's wwwrun. While I configured the vhost with WSGIProcessGroup sync WSGIDaemonProcess sync user=djechelon group=djechelon processes=1 threads=5 I still get the error that Apache wants to access a socket that is not accessible and because of this gets an error. Is it possible to configure mod_wsgi in order to create different sockets with different owners for different applications or to chmod its socket in a different way (less secure)? Currently, I'm running Firefox Sync as the only WSGI application. Moving it to a vhost that doesn't AssignUserId could solve this problem but will force me to change URL (and buy an additional SSL certificate), so I wouldn't consider this

  In postfix, I'm using relay_host to send an email to an external address using sendgrid, but I get an error about local ricipient table when sending an email from my PHP code. When pointing the path to a regular folder it works fine. Also, when I point it directly to /media/MYDISK, it shows the same error. EDIT: to make it more interesting, I have no graphical interface, so I need to touch the config files directly..

• HP UX can not boot from Ignite Tape

  We have hp rp2470 server running hp-ux 11.00, with LVM mirroring. As for redundancy we have second rp2470 same hw (same two processors, same ram, same two hdd’s, same number of lan cards). I want to clone first one to the second. For that purpose I am making ignite tape with the following command: make_tape_recovery -x inc_entire=vg00 Ignite tape finishes without problems. When I boot second server from this ignate tape, server is starting to boot, and ignite restore finishes without any errors, only few notes, which are normal. However vmunix is not booting and when restore finishes, it boot to ISL prompt. From this I cannot boot /stand/vmunix. I tried to run recovery shell but no success. When recovery shell ask to do frecover to restore critical files, then I receive error: frecover(5405): unable to open /dev/rmt/0m At first I thought that the problem might be in the difference of the firmware version of the servers: fw version of production server is: Firmware Version 43.50 and fw version of backup server is: Firmware Version 42.19 So i did a fw upgrade of my backup server so that both servers are v43.50, and tried a recovery but again cant boot the system. Next I did another archive tape with -I (Interactive) flag: make_tape_recovery -I -x inc_entire=vg00 and tried recovery with it, again no good. I cannot find any error or warnings on ignite log, and I cannot boot hpux. I am only on ISL prompt. • Can't add printer on Windows XP

  I've added a HP 4250 printer to about half a dozen Windows XP PCs in our office without any problems whatsoever, but for some reason I haven't been able to add it to one particular PC today. I go through the Add Printer wizard to add a local printer attached to the PC, enter the new port number as a Standard TCP/IP Port, install the driver. At the end of the wizard I get the following error message: Full error message: "windows cannot connect to the printer. either the printer name was typed incorrectly, or the specified printer has lost its connection to the server." This doesn't make any sense as I am able to ping the printer from the PC. The print spooler is running, and any firewall software on the local PC is switched off.

• Re-deploy only the reports on SCOM Management Packs

  I've migrated Reporting Services on a SCOM 2007 R2 install, and noticed that the reports have not being copied. I can create a new report, but the ones I've had because of the management packs are gone. I've tried re-applying the Management Packs however it doesn't re-deploy them and when I try to access for example: Monitoring - Microsoft Windows Print Server - Microsoft Windows Server 2000 and 2003 Print Services - State View - select any item and click Alerts on the right menu. I get the following error: Date: 12/24/2010 12:40:35 PM Application: System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2 Application Version: 6.1.7221.0 Severity: Error Message: Cannot initialize report.   I have been battling with .htaccess rules to get my SSL setup working right for the past few days.I get a requested URL not found error whenever I try access any requests that does not do through the index controller. For example this URL would work fine if I enter the it manually https://www.example.com/index.php/auth/register However my application has been built in such a way that the url should be this https://www.example.com/auth/register and that gives the requested URL not found error My other URLs such as https://www.example.com/index/faq https://www.example.com/index/blog https://www.example.com/index/terms work just fine. What rule do I need to write in my htaccess to get the URL https://www.example.com/auth/register working? • "Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action" windows XP, outlook 2007, connect to exchange using HTTP

  Hey, I can't connect to an exchange server using windows XP and outlook 2007, using the "connect anywhere over HTTP" process, it has been working until recently and the user reports no recent changes to his environment. The error is "Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action" It will prompt me for the username and password which I can enter, then it will give the errorm however this only happens when I delete the account and enter all details for the excahnge server again. The client computer that is unable to connect using outlook can connect to the HTTPS mail service and login send/receive fine. Nobody else has reported issues. making a test environment with a clean install of XP and outlook 2007 gives the same error, but using windows 7 and outlook 2007 connects perfectly fine everytime. I also removed all passwords using control keymgr.dll which didnt help. Any assistance or ideas would be appreciated, at this point nothing I've tried from technet or google works <_<

• No login prompt displayed after updating Ubuntu 10.04, broken gdm

  So here's what happens: I updated my system the other day, was prompted for a reboot for the update to complete but was in the middle of working so I delayed it until after I was done. I reboot and it's broken :(. It appears to boot normally, with the following exceptions: The purple Ubuntu load screen no longer displays (though it did for the first couple of times I tried to get in). I hear the login prompt sound, but no login prompt appears. Nor is it simply "invisible" - pressing enter, typing my password, and pressing enter again do nothing. Normally my Bluetooth mouse is functional at this point, but it is not. GRUB displays recovery options for my current kernel, and for an older one (2.6.32-24). Trying to boot into .32-24 gives me an error saying "udevadm can't do something while udev is not configured". So I try solutions listed here: http://superuser.com/questions/195786/ubuntu-update-went-wrong-pc-doesnt-boot-how-can-i-repair-it Nothing I tried seemed to work, and after further Googling my hunch is that it's a problem with gdm. Please correct me if I'm wrong, I don't know all that much about how Linux/Ubuntu systems work just yet. Things I'm able to do: Boot to a live CD Ctrl-Alt-F2 after that login sound plays brings me to a console login, which I can successfully do (it's how I tried the solutions above). This works only under the current kernel. A hack I'd be willing to explore is removing the login prompt from the console, but I'd prefer to "simply" fix what's wrong. Like that guy, I need to repair the system rather than reinstall. System: Dell Inspiron 1525 Core 2 Duo Proprietary Driver for Broadcom 43xx wireless Dual-boot with Windows 7 (which is how I'm posting this, unfortunately I only have this machine and any experimenting requires constant reboots into Windows/brokenbuntu) Last package installed was Moonlight, but it appeared to install properly. Kernel: 2.6.32-25 Edit: After working with Karl's suggestions, it seems that the problem is with gdm. Error exit status 245 when attempting to sudo apt-get install --reinstall gdm, also an error processing gdm when running sudo apt-get -f install. How do I reinstall or repair gdm so that I can get back into my machine?
