  • Drop down menu for blogger with automatic link update

    My mom has a recipe blog in blogger which has many categories "Cakes", "Celebration Day" etc which are filled with numerous recipe posts. Now I want to organize my blog in a better way and make a drop down menu for all the categories(I already have labels) but I dont want to keep updating the menu whenever I include a new post. I want to have it updated automatically. Is there any way it can be done with CSS or html codes?

  • What's the best language to use for a simple windows 7 dynamic gui desktop app [closed]

    [Note: I hope I am not breaking etiquette, but I originally posted a variant on this question here, but am re-asking here because I am making this now solely a question about programming.] I would like to program of the following simple form: The user can produce X number of resizable frames (analogous to HTML frames). Each frame serves as a simple text editor, which you can type into and save the whole configuration including resized windows and text. The user should be able alternately "freeze" and present the information, and "unfreeze" and edit frames. Thus it will be a cross between a calendar and a text editor. I don't particularly care if it is a web application or not. What languages are ideal for such a setup? I know some C and Python and Html, and am willing to learn others if need be. It seems to me this should be a relatively easy program to make, but I need a little direction before starting. EDIT: My OS is Windows 7.

    I have an initial velocity V(Vx,Vy,VZ) and a spot where he stands still at S(Sx,Sy,Sz). What I'm trying to achieve is a jump on a spot E(Ex,Ey,Ez) where you have clicked on(only lower or higher spot, because I've in place a simple steering behavior for even terrains). There are no obstacle around. I've implemented a formula that can make him jump in a precise way on a spot but you need to declare an angle: the problem arise when the selected spot is straight above your head. It' pretty lame that the char hang there and can reach a thing that is 1cm above is head.   • low level api or graphics library?

    Well, I want to learn game development, I've already know a little bit about xna, ogre and DX but, I want to choose one of them and stick with it. I'm not trying to make a "directx vs xna, ogre vs opengl, etc." thread. Some people told me that it's better to learn an engine like Ogre because you can develop games directly and you don't have to worry about the low level details, I know that. Other people told me that it's better to learn a low level api before learning something like Ogre because you will able to understand how it works. Is it valuable to have experience with Ogre or another engine but don't know anything about a low level api? What do you recommend me? Thanks in advance.

Some examples can be http://www.addgoogleurl.com/ and webdirectorieslist.com, etc. I was talking with my colleague and he says, adding the URL of my website to these kind of websites will negate the effect of other organic real links. Does google consider positive/negative points for these kind of links from web directory websites? Do you have any source for your answer to refer to?     Is there a relatively simple way to dynamicaly reload content files? (ie: effect files) I know i can do following: Detect change of file Run content pipeline to rebuild that specific file Unload ALL content that was loaded Load All content And use double references to reference content files. Problem is with step 3 (and step 2 isn't that nice too). But i need to unload everything because if i have model Hero.x which references Model.fx effect, and i change Model.fx file, i need to reload Hero.x file which will then call LoadExternalReference on Model.fx. So I guess question is, did someone mange to make this work without rewriting whole ContentManager (and every ContentReader) and tracking calls to LoadExternalReference?

    I have a web app that has a REST API interface: http://api.example.com/core that uses API Keys and domain specific keys (key has to be used on the specified domain). I then will have several client sites with ajax forms where we will require users to sign in before being able to submit the form. This form will add data to a table, and submit an email to several recipients along with checking credentials. This form will use an ajax submit to our REST API. All Communication to/from the API is over SSL Ideal Flow: Visitor Fills Form Out -> Enters User/pass -> Submits Form -> ajax request to REST API -> API Verifies credentials -> does CRUD -> sends emails -> returns 200/403 -> perform DOM manipulation based on return code in ajax call Are there any libraries in PHP that currently do something to this similarly?     recently I come out writing Quadtree for creatures culling in Opendungeons game. Thing is those are moving points and bounding hierarchy will quickly get lost if the quadtree is not rebuild very often. I have several variants, first is to upgrade the leaf position , every time creature move is requested. ( note if I would need collision detection anyway, so this might be necessery anyway). Second would be making leafs enough large , that the creature would sure stay inside it's bounding box ( due to its speed limit). The partition of a plane in quadtree is always fixed ( modulo the hierarchical unions of some parts) . For creatures close to the center of the plane , there would be no way of keeping it but inside one big leaf, besides this brokes the invariant that each point can be put into any small area as desired. So on the second thought could I use several quadrees ? Each would have its "coordinate axis XY" somwhere shifted ?     I am currently designing a functionality in my Web Application where the verified user of the application can execute queries which he wishes to from the predefined set of queries with where clause varying as per user's choice. For example,Table ABC contains the following Template query called SecretReport "Select def as FOO, ghi as BAR from MNO where " SecretReport can have parameters XYZ, ILP. Again XYZ can have values as 1,2 and ILP can have 3,4 so if the user chooses ILP=3, he will get the result of the following query on his screen "Select def as FOO, ghi as BAR from MNO where ILP=3" Again the user is allowed permutations of XYZ / ILP My initial thought is that User will be shown a list of Report names and each report will have parameters and corresponding values. But this approach although technically simple does not appear intuitive. I would like to extend this functionality to a more generic level. Such that the user can choose a table and query based on his requirements. Of course we do not want the end user to take complete control of DB. But only tables and fields that are relevant to him. At present we are defining what is relevant in the code. But I want the Admin to take over this functionality such that he can decide what is relevant and expose the same to the user. On user's side it should be intuitive what is available to him and what queries he can form. Please share your thoughts what is the most user friendly way to provide this feature to the end user.

    I do something like: $ ln -s '/home/deostroll/.wine/dosdevices/c:/Program Files/Internet Explorer/iexplore.exe' /usr/bin/iexplore I am expecting that at the shell I can just type the following and expect the internet explorer browser window to show up: $ pwd <where ever> $ iexplore But instead I get the following error message: wine: cannot find L"Z:\\usr\\bin\\iexplore." What am I doing wrong?

    I would like to be able to dynamically progress the score, and affect the volume levels of separate channels within the music. How could I do this? From my experience with mod music (olden days Amiga music, Mod Tracker, Scream Tracker, Fast Tracker II, Impulse Tracker etc etc), I believe this is the best way to tackle the problem, to allow the music to move from one loop to another, without anything mixed down.   • Finding bluetooth link key in Win7, to double pair a device on dualboot computer

    How can I dig up the bluetooth link key for a paired device in Win7? Is this something that is dependent on the bluetooth stack I'm using (Toshiba), or is there a generic place to store these in Win7? Note: I'm not talking about the six-digit code usually typed by the user during pairing - that is worthless since it's discarded after pairing process. What I mean is the 128-bit link key that the devices exchange during pairing, and use thereafter to encrypt all their bluetooth traffic. Background: I dualboot Win7 / Ubuntu on my laptop, and I would like to have my phone paired to both OS's. Since the dualbooting computer has only one bluetooth adapter and thus only one bluetooth address, I cannot do two pairings to the phone, since on the second pairing (windows) the phone just replaces the previous pairing (linux) to the same bluetooth address. A thread on Ubuntu forums pointed me to what I have to do - pair first on linux, then on windows, and then replace the link key on linux side with the one windows negotiated. I can find the linux side pairing key from /var/lib/bluetooth/[BD_ADDR]/linkkeys - no problems there. However, on windows side I can't find the key. According to the forum post, on windows side the key should be in SYSTEM\ControlSet002\services\BTHPORT\Parameters\Keys\[BD_ADDR] but while that registry key does exist, it has no subkeys. (And a similar registry path in ControlSet001 didn't have any subkeys either.) One thing I've been instructed to do is to capture all events during pairing with Sysinternals Process Monitor. I did this, but I haven't been able to find any useful information from the captured events, not even by exporting the data to a huge XML and grepping that with the BD_ADDRs (with or without colons).
