  • Having a problem getting my ActionListeners, Handlers, and GUI to communicate.

    I am having trouble applying an animation to a View. I am trying to load the animation from inside the constructor of a CursorAdapter, so I can set it later assign it to certain children in the list.   • Search the Quartz maps

    Hi, I would like to store some properties in the quartz datastore (jdbc) and then be able to find all triggers/jobs that match. E.g. store the user id related to a trigger and then query like user_id=555. Previously, I used to query the database directly but this is naturally not a good way. Anyone has another suggestion on how to accomplish this? Thanks.

  • Value isnt being saved in the strings

    I'm trying to make a class where I put a key and value into the put method which puts the key in the k string array and value into the v string array, however it is not being saved in the array when I do get or display. For example: put(dan,30) get(dan) returns null display returns null null 10 times.     I noticed that the children of PersistentUser are not deleted when using the JPQL query below. However, the children are deleted if I perform an entityManager.remove(object). Is this expected? It created a generic list instead of 3 different lists.   • Maven: add a dependency to a jar by relative path

    I have a proprietary jar that I want to add to my pom as a dependency. But I don't want to add it to a repository. The reason is that I want my usual maven commands such as mvn compile, etc, to work out of the box. (Without demanding from the developers a to add it to some repository by themselves). I want the jar to be in a 3rdparty lib in source control, and link to it by relative path from the pom.xml file. Can this be done? How?

How can I annotate that property to avoid immediate loading? I could create another class that contains the Blob alone and then use a lazy one-to-one, but I'd like to solve this with annotations.

If this is the case, where does all the behind the scenes features go that aren't really linked to a story but are still useful? For example, say I'm making an application that catalogs the contents of a hard drive. A story wouldn't require it but having an md5 hash on each file would be a nice feature.

How does annotations works specifically with Spring framework ? Can annotations be used outside Spring Framework or are they Framework specific ? Set No. 2: What module of Spring Framework is widely used in Industry ? I think it is Spring MVC but why it is the most used module, if am correct or correct me on this ?   • Is dependency injection only for service type objects and singletons? (and NOT for gui?)

    I'm currently experimenting with the Google's guice inversion of control container. I previously had singletons for just about any service (database, active directory) my application used. Now I refactored the code: all the dependencies are given as parameters to constructors. So far, so good. Now the hardest part is with the graphical user interface. I face this problem: I have a table (JTable) of products wrapped in an ProductFrame. I give the dependencies as parameters (EditProductDialog). @Inject public ProductFrame(EditProductDialog editProductDialog) { // ... } // ... @Inject public EditProductDialog(DBProductController productController, Product product) { // ... } The problem is that guice can't know what Product I have selected in the table, so it can't know what to inject in the EditProductDialog. Dependency Injection is pretty viral (if I modify one class to use dependency injection I also need to modify all the other classes it interacts with) so my question is should I directly instantiate EditProductDialog? But then I would have to pass manually the DBProductController to the EditProductDialog and I will also need to pass it to the ProductFrame and all this boils down to not using dependency injection at all. Or is my design flawed and because of that I can't really adapt the project to dependecy injection? Give me some examples of how you used dependency injection with the graphical user interface. All the examples found on the Internet are really simple examples where you use some services (mostly databases) with dependency injection.

    I am trying to read the authorization header for an HTTP request (because I need to add something to it), but I always get null for the header value.   • Saving tree-structures in Databases

    Hello everyone. I use Hibernate/Spring and a MySQL Database for my data management. Currently I display a tree-structure in a JTable. A tree can have several branches, in turn a branch can have several branches (up to nine levels) again, or having leaves. Lately I have performanceproblemes, as soon as I want to create new branches on deeper levels. At this time a branch has a foreign key to its parent. The domainobject has access to its parent by calling getParent(), which returns the parent-branch. The deeper the level, the longer it takes to create a new branch. Microbenchmark results for creating a new branch are like: Level 1: 32 ms. Level 3: 80 ms. Level 9: 232 ms. Obviously the level (which means the number of parents) is responsible for this. So I wanted to ask, if there are any appendages to work around this kind of problem. I don’t understand why Hibernate needs to know about the whole object tree (all parents until the root) while creating a new branch. But as far as I know this can be the only reason for the delay while creating a new branch, because a branch doesn’t have any other relations to any other objects. I would be very thankful for any workarounds or suggestions. greets, jambusa

  • Seam @Factory in abstract base class?

    I've got a series of web actions I'm implementing in Seam to perform create, read, update, etc. operations. For my read/update/delete actions, I'd like to have individual action classes that all extend an abstract base class. I'd like to put the @Factory method in the abstract base class to retrieve the item that is to be acted upon. For example, I have this as the base class: public abstract class BaseAction { @In(required=false)@Out(required=false) private MyItem item=null; public MyItem getItem(){...} public void setItem(...){...} @Factory("item") public void initItem(){...} } My subclasses would extend BaseAction, so that I don't have to repeat the logic to load the item that is to be viewed, deleted, updated, etc. However, when I start my application, Seam throws errors saying I have declared multiple @Factory's for the same object. Is there any way around this? Is there any way to provide the @Factory in the base class without encoutnering these errors?
