Is it possible in Java to draw shapes and stuff directly on the screen so my desktop remains visible and I can click whatever is underneath my shape? I'm using Windows XP. Thanks.
I have an array of entries I would like to print.
Being arr the array, I used just to write:
puts arr
Then I needed to use the DOS format end-of-line: \r\n, so I wrote:
arr.each { |e| print "#{e}\r\n" }
This works correctly, but I would like to know if there is a way to specify what end-of-line format to use so that I could write something like:
$eol = "\r\n"
puts arr
UPDATE
I know that puts will use the correct line-endings depending on the platform it is run on, but I need this because I will write the output to a file.
I am using google docs to draw draft screens for specs. I wonder if there is a tool to simulate draft screens. For example I couldn't put a combobox on google docs easily.
Thanks.
Does Lua support something like C's _LINE_ macro, which returns the number of the current code line? I know Lua has a special built-in variable called _G, but I don't see line number in there...
We had recently had a vendor switch to a fortinet firewall. We were given the FortinetSLVPNclient (version 4.0.2148) to use. This has some simple command line switches that allow you to connect from the commandline (cmd.exe this is on windows) but they seem to do nothing. Anyone have any luck with this or any alternative ssl vpn clients with scriptable installers? I have been through the documentation on the site and have seen my hopes dashed.
I've set up keys with the following:
opendkim-genkey -t -s mail -d test.com
The private key (pertinent to this question) contains:
-----BEGIN RSA PRIVATE KEY-----
(some stuff here)
-----END RSA PRIVATE KEY-----
My opendkim.conf contains:
Domain test.com
KeyFile /etc/opendkim/dkim.private
Selector mail
I am then testing with:
opendkim-testkey -d test.com -s mail -k /etc/mail/dkim.public
Yet receive the following error:
opendkim-testkey: PEM_read_bio_PrivateKey() failed
error:0906D06C:PEM routines:PEM_read_bio:no start line
The files exist and have opendkim as the user and group, and adequate permissions. Has anyone any advice?
Hi all
I am writting program for recording IP cameras videos.
I use Aforge framework and can save video in avi format, but it's size is too big.
I need some command line program to convert videos from avi to mpeg4 format.
Is there any free program and if yes where can I download them and how to use it.
Thanks.

Given that I want my shell script be invoked at the command line using the above parameters - where [these brackets] denote that they are optional - what is the best method to parse them?
I need to write a batch file to auto upload a backup every day. I'm restricted to windows, can anyone suggest any free software to do this? I was looking at Filezilla, the command line interface doesn't let you auto upload files and I need to buy a license for CuteFTP.
Thanks,
Teja
Can you think of any linux command-line method for saving the certificate presented by a HTTPS server? Something along the lines of having curl/wget/openssl make a SSL connection and save the cert rather than the HTTP response content.
The gui equivalent to what I'm looking for would be to browse to the HTTPS site, double-click on the browser "secure site" icon, and export the cert. Except the goal here is to do it non-interactively.
Thanks,
Jim
I want one of those to write my blog articles with. I'm tired of manually converting breaks from rough notes to either paragraphs or line breaks for release as HTML, and tired of converting spaces to breaking or non-breaking ones. There are standard Unicode code points for the difference - what editor lets me use almost plain ASCII text but with builtin support and understanding for Unicode paragraph and non-breaking space characters?
And ideally will let me save straight to either plain text UTF8 or to a file of plain HTML paragraphs?

Hello,
I can find anything on google that could help me to use aptitude to only install security update using command line on Ubuntu.
I tried this: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/AutomaticSecurityUpdates but it installed everything and not only the security updates !!!!
Thanks a lot for your help,

Is there a command line tool that would allow me to script creation of accounts on a MediaWiki instance?
The UI for creating an account is painful, and very time consuming when tasked with creating 10+ accounts at a time.
Unfortunately I can't get ImportUsers to work due to the very old version of MediaWiki we use (and upgrading is unfortunately not possible at this time).
I am trying to run the Safari browser (on Mac OS 10.4) from the command line, as follows:
/Applications/Safari.app/Contents/MacOS/Safari http://localhost/dev/myfile.html
However, Safari starts up and tries to access
file:///Users/charlesanderson/scripts/http://localhost/dev/myfile.html
/Users/charlesanderson/scripts happens to be my current directory.
Can someone explain why Safari does this? Firefox is much better behaved?
I need to convert Microsoft Office Word .doc files into the new format .docx of Office 2007.
I need it to be done via the command line since it's an application where people upload .doc files and i want them automatically to be converted to .docx.
I can live with a link to a downloadable .exe file if yo can provide, a C++ code will be even better.
10x.

Is there a way to edit the subject line of emails you've received in Thunderbird? I use email a lot for work and it would be a lot easier if I could change subjects to make things easier to find later.
I found a plug-in but it only works for Thunderbird up to 2.0 and I'd rather not have to downgrade to get this feature.
What is the shortcut for removing the Windows boot screen logo during startup so that you can actually see all the command line commands that are running in the startup sequence?

Is there any plugin to some IDE that show the number of times a line is run in the code?
Eclipse's ECLemma does not seem to have a setting to show execution times at the left-hand-side bar, like in the service WebCat.
I'd like to print my PDF copy of "why's poignant guide to ruby" to read It on paper before to sleep. I have several open source book I'd like to print too and some of them are full color.
I know about lulu.com but I never had any experience with It.
Can you give me some advice with real world proofs about on-line-print-and ship-to-your house services?
I tried putting the following LDIF file in Apache Directory Studio, but it complained that the record must end with an empty line. Do you know why?
