  • How do I export customized Libreoffice config files?

    Is this possible? I want to make my own config file for my customizations that I can apply whenever I reinstall my system. For example, Ubuntu's default font color is just stupid. I want it to be BLACK and not dark grey. And I want to turn on autosave every 3rd minute and backup files. Is there a config file that I can change? The .libreoffice/* folders and XML files doesn't make sense, and they don't seem to change when I change stuff in LibreOffice. Could someone please help me out with this? Thanks.

    I recently have installed Okular on my Ubuntu 14.04. The problem is when I open pdf files, okular gives me the error "Can not find a plugin which is able to handle the document being passed."     UBUNTU 11.10 NAUTILUS 3.2.1 We ARE able to see Windows PCs on our network from Ubuntu's NAUTILUS, yet we are NOT able to access their shares from NAUTILUS, even though they work fine with each other, i.e. each windows PC IS able access the other Windows PC's shares just fine. Please infer from this information the answers to any questions about our situation you may have. Note this is a default/pristine configuration, i.e. no changes have been made whatsoever.     I use GNU make, I want my source files and object files to be in different folders. As a first step, I want the source files at the root of my project folder, and the object files in a subfolder (say Debug/). The inference rule would be: .ss.obj: echo Assembling $*.ss... $(ASSEMBLY) $(2210_ASSEMBLY_FLAGS) $*.ss -o Debug\$*.obj but in that case, make rebuilds all files all the time, since there are no .obj in the root folder. Is there a way to include a folder for the target in the line .ss.obj? I also tried: $(OBJS_WITH_PATH):$(SRC) echo Assembling $<... $(ASSEMBLY) $(ASSEMBLY_FLAGS) $< -o $@ with $(SRC) as a list of all my sources, $(OBJS_WITH_PATH) built that way: OBJS_WITH_PATH = $(patsubst %.ss,Debug\\%.obj,$(SRC)) but that builds a dependency on all source files for all object files. What I would like is to modify the inference rule I wrote first, to take Debug/*.obj files. What it says now is no rule to make target Debug/asdfasdf.obj.

  • Ubuntu One Windows application only accessing gpg files

    I'm on a windows 7 (64) machine right now, I have the Ubuntu One windows application. I'm synced to my online account, the folder I am accessing is... deja-dup\My-desktop When I click 'Sync Locally' checkbox and explore my folder I am only able to see three files of the form duplicity-full.#######.manifest.gpg duplicity-full.#######.vol1.difftar.gpg duplicity-full-signatures.#######.sigtar.gpg How do I access the content of these file? I put them on a linux server and decrypted them/ extracted them, however something is wrong. Note: I cannot use apt-get on the linux server I'm using.   • Wine pollutes "Open With" application list

    The dialog box in question here is the one you get with the context menu option "open with other applications". Wine seems to have inserted more than a dozen or so entries for each application I install, which makes it a pain to find the correct application: What can I do to remove the duplicates? Update: Neither of the two solutions really work. The bug is interesting, but the symptoms does not match my problem (I'm not having problem with uninstalling applications, but rather the things that are inserted after installing them), and with the other one, all references to the Wine application are removed, which actually makes the problem worse (although it may be an acceptable solution if nothing else can be found). So this is still an open question; any takers?

  • Upgraded to 11.10 lost personal folders, Ubuntu one shows no files

    Upgraded to 11.04, from 10.10 system would only come up in terminal mode, but it told me that an additional upgrade was available and did I want to do that. Foolishly thinking that might fix the problem, I said yes. This time it did not make it all the way through the upgrade, when I came back to the computer over an hour later, the screen was filled with an error message "could not open display", had to reboot. Went to recovery mode on reboot to install nvidia module, when I rebooted system came up fine, but without carrying over my personal folders, I have the home folder, but no personal named folder in it. Came to Ubuntu One, but gives error message; File Sync error. (org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked Is the a way around this in order to restore my files? I know my files existed on Ubuntu one as of a few months ago.

  • I see files in filezilla, but the internet denies their existance

    I am doing some updates to a 10-year old site, and I am baffled. Everything worked great locally, so I uploaded a bunch of stuff to the server using filezilla. Within filezilla I can see all of the files, but for some reason I get a 404 when trying to view them. It seems as though (at least for the folder Im currently checking) this is happening for items which are "farther down the list" alphabetically. I tried to re-upload a file individually but it didn't change anything. Is this an indication that I hit some sort of limit with the hosting company? And if so why can I still view the files from filezilla? Please offer guidance. I am at a loss.

  • Howto have thunderbird/lightning open ics files

    Some websites offer .ics files, calendar files. I would like thunrbird to open these with Lightning so it can add the events in the ics-file to its calendar. When I use /usr/bin/thunderbird to open the file with, it starts a new message with the ics file attached. I could download the file, then import it from lightning, But I rather have lightning just open the file. Is there a commandline-option for this? Some wrapper-script maybe? Should I change something in firefox?

  • Ubuntu One synching changed files

    I have several folders in the Ubuntu1 folder and if I add a new file (on my PC oder my Mobile) the file shows up in the other device or in the online access. However, if I change one of the files (like a spreadsheet I change almost daily on my PC) Ubuntu1 is not updating the changed file. It is still the old file on the other devices. Doesn't Ubuntu1 sync changed files only new ones or do I have to change some settings? Could someone be so nice and help me? Thanks in advance! Mark PS: I am using Ubuntu 11.10 64 bit.

  • CSV files not being written

    I worked on a small project in which the data entered in HTML forms was saved in a CSV file which was used subsequently. The files were run on Apache2. It worked fine. After about 25 days, when I reopened the project, the data entered in forms was not saved in CSV file. I checked all the permissions. I even sent a zip file of my files to one of m friends. It worked well on his system. So should I figure it out there's some problem in the system. I am using Ubuntu 13.04. Kindly suggest me something so that I am able to figure out the problem.

  • Ubuntu not showing complete list of partitions while installing 10.04 and 10.10

    I am a total beginner to Ubuntu. I have tried to install Ubuntu on my 320 gb hard disk and am stuck at the partition page. The problem is, Ubuntu is not showing all the partitions. When I run the live CD and try to see all the drives these are not present. I have presently 4 drives, C: 58 GB D: 48 GB E: 87 GB and F: 102 GB. The F: drive is not shown; at the time of installing it does not show any of the drives, just a chunk of 257 GB, hence I am unable to install Ubuntu on my D: drive. On the C: drive, Windows 7 64 bit is installed.
