  • PowerBroker (Likewise-Open) + Ubuntu 13.04 -> 13.10 Upgrade

    I just upgraded Ubuntu from 13.04 to 13.10, and now I can't log into Active Directory; my system is integrated using PowerBroker Identity Services (PBIS), which used to be called Likewise-Open. So far I have identified the following symptoms: I am able to log in with my credentials via ssh. The screen goes black when attempting log into my account via the login screen. I've tried leaving the domain, purging PBIS, and re-installing the latest version of PBIS. I've been trying the troubleshooting section I found here, but I haven't had any success.   • Android - Resuming application state - SL4A

    please dont harpoon me for a noob-ish question. I am working on an android application using SL4A, when my application starts it runs in the background while the script is being executed. I'm not sure where to start but each time I click my icon, it re-starts my application. I have tried using different launchmodes with nothing different happening. I'm thinking it has to do with the OnCreate code, and the setting of the notification. I need help saving my application state and then resuming on either re-click of icon or click from notification bar. I've tried everything had to turn here for help. I am not a pro at android programming by any means. Now I think I could figure that out on my own, but you can see on the live page that if the user is on a page from the innerlist and that list was visible, then if they hovered over the other nav tab, then those innerlists would overlap. This is a problem. Hopefully that last sentence makes sense! In short: I need to keep the inner list of the active page displaying, BUT if the user hovers over another nav button WITH it's own inner list, then the live innerlist needs to disappear. Clear as mud?

  • How to make a form using ajax, onchange event, reload to SAME page

    I've been studying this for a while and I'm not sure if I'm going about this the right way because every form I setup according to examples, it doesn't do what I need. I need to setup a form that will: set session when you select from dropdown menu not reload/refresh page (i've read that using AJAX solves this) submit and stay on SAME page (confused because most AJAX examples send it to different process.php page which is supposedly "invisible" but it doesn't "stay" on the same page, it redirects. Basically, client selects quantity of 1 to 10. If they select "2"... it does NOT reload the page.. but it DOES set a session[quantity]=2. Should be simple... but do I POST to same page as form? or POST to different page and it somehow redirects? Also, one test I did it kept pasting my "echo session[quantity]" down the page like 7, 2, 3, 5, etc. etc. each time instead of replacing it. I would paste code but it's all over the place and I'm hoping for direction on which methods to use. Feel I need to start all over again.   • PHP Using session variables in array(s)

    Hello, My question is how do i put these session variables into a array? I have tried countless ways but none of them work. Not really sure what to put in a array and what no and how to adress them. Currently when i fill in the form the data gets displayed in a table. Next when i press the hyperlink that takes me back to the same form, i wish to enter data again. This data should be added in a new row in the same display table. Best Regards.     Hi guys, I'm reasonably new to JEE, so this might be stupid.. bear with me pls :D I would like to inject a stateless session bean into a message-driven bean. Basically, the MDB gets a JMS message, then uses a session bean to perform the work. The session bean holds the business logic. Here's my Session Bean: @Stateless public class TestBean implements TestBeanRemote { public void doSomething() { // business logic goes here } } The matching interface: @Remote public interface TestBeanRemote { public void doSomething(); } Here's my MDB: @MessageDriven(mappedName = "jms/mvs.TestController", activationConfig = { @ActivationConfigProperty(propertyName = "acknowledgeMode", propertyValue = "Auto-acknowledge"), @ActivationConfigProperty(propertyName = "destinationType", propertyValue = "javax.jms.Queue") }) public class TestController implements MessageListener { @EJB private TestBean testBean; public TestController() { } public void onMessage(Message message) { testBean.doSomething(); } } So far, not rocket science, right?     Hey all, I'm trying my hand at creating a session which stores member information which the application can use to reveal certain navigation and allow access to certain pages and member role specific functionality. I've been able to assign my MemberLoggedIn object to the session in this way: //code excerpt start... I then can send the properties of Session["loggedIn"] to the View in this way: [ChildActionOnly] public ActionResult Login() { if (Session["loggedIn"] != null) ViewData.Model = Session["loggedIn"]; else ViewData.Model = null; return PartialView(); } In the Partial View I can reference the session data by using Model.Username or Model.Superuser. However, it doesn't seem to work that way in the controller or in a custom Action Filter. Is there a way to get the equivalent of Session["loggedIn"].Username?

    I ran across this pattern in the code of a library I'm using. It sets state within the event raising method, but only if the event is not null. protected virtual void OnMyEvent(EventArgs e) { if(MyEvent != null) { State = "Executing"; // Only sets state if MyEvent != null. MyEvent(this,e); } } Which means that the state is not set when overriding the method: protected override void OnMyEvent(EventArgs e) { base.OnMyEvent(e); Debug.Assert( State == "Executing" ); // This fails } but is only set when handling the event: foo.MyEvent += (o, args) => Debug.Assert(State == "Executing"); // This passes Setting state within the if(MyEvent != null) seems like bad form, but I've checked the Event Design Guidelines and it doesn't mention this. Do you think this code is incorrect? If so, why? (Reference to design guidelines would be helpful). Edit for Context: It's a Control, I'm trying to create subclass of it, and the state that it's setting is calling EnsureChildControls() conditionally based upon there being an event handler. I can call EnsureChildControls() myself, but I consider that something of a hack.

    In C# environment, setting a checkbox's CheckState property to Indeterminate displays a "green square" inside the checkbox. In VB environment, this displays as a "grayed out check" (which is less intuitive, even for "dummy" users). How do i make Indeterminate state look like a "green square" in VB.NET ?   • Windows: How to make programs think they're not running in a terminal server session?

    I am using the program "SoftXPand 2011 Duo" by Miniframe on my Windows 7 PC. It makes two workstations out of one computer. It uses the terminal services built into Windows to create the additional session. I use two screens, two keyboards and two mice to create this "illusion" of two computers. It works quite well and I can even play two different 3D games on the two screens attached to this single machine (using a Radeon HD5770 and a Core i5 2500k with 8 Gbytes RAM). There are a few downsides to this. I just found about one that is hidden on the first look. The sessions you are in (even on the first workstation) will identify as a terminal server session! Now some programs will run with limited effects (graphical), and some won't run at all. This also resulted in some games not running at all. They just say "Cannot be run in a terminal server session" and exit. I have already proven that top modern games (DirectX 10, 11) run just as good as on the same machine without SoftXPand, so this is a pretty artificial limitation! So, can I somehow hack my current session so it doesn't look like a terminal server session anymore? I. E. #include <windows.h> #pragma comment(lib, "user32.lib") BOOL IsRemoteSession(void) { return GetSystemMetrics( SM_REMOTESESSION ); } Will return FALSE? (Not a programming question! Just an example how programs detect if they're in a terminal server session!)
