• SSL and regular VHost on the same server [duplicate]

  This question already has an answer here: How to stop HTTPS requests for non-ssl-enabled virtual hosts from going to the first ssl-enabled virtualhost (Apache-SNI) 1 answer I have a server running Apache 2.4 on which run several virtual hosts. The problem I noticed is that if I try to access let's say https://example.com that have no SSL setuped, apache will automatically try to access the first VHost that has SSL activated (which is litteraly not the same site). How can we prevent this strange behaviour, or in other words, how to say to Apache to ignore SSL for a given site. • Server down at 23:26 every night

  We are having a big problem with our sites stability the last couple of weeks and after endless hours of troubleshooting I don't get anywhere. So I turn to you dear community. Setup: 2 x VPS servers - Front end, 8 core, 8G RAM. - Database, 5 core, 3G RAM. Both running Ubuntu. Ruby on Rails EE with Passenger 3 and Rails 2.3.11. MySQL 5.1.67. The problem is that each night, at the exact same time (23:26) the SQL server suddenly shows a processlist full of COMMIT with an increasing Time. After 30-40 seconds (can go longer) a wave seems processed and the site responds for a few seconds before it repeats. During this hick up the database server load spikes while the front end is relaxing. I have looked at slow queries, but is not finding any locks or other unusual queries ran at this time. I have looked at iotop at the time of the halt and there is no activity from mysql. I also tried turning off query_cache and messed around with the mysql configuration file without much change. Any ideas?

• Private subnet for VM server host-only network

  At my current job, we distribute a product based on a Linux server with multiple VMs defined (using KVM / libvirt). We are planning to expose limited ports to the customer's network, and use iptables to direct inbound traffic to the appropriate internal VM. My question: is there a class of private subnets that I can use for the internal host-only network that is least likely to conflict with a client IP subnet? Specifically, if I choose a /24 out of any of the RFC-1918 defined private subnets (such as 192.168.x.x), there is a chance of conflicting with a customer-used range. I noticed that several current VM implementations default to 192.168.122.x -- is this due to an RFC that I'm not familiar with, and therefore this is a safe range to use (that most network admins would avoid)? Or did the various VM vendors just pick that range randomly? I guess I'm looking for an IP range that is more private than the existing private (RFC1918) addresses. The only other thought I had was to use one of the "Test Net" IP ranges reserved for documentation purposes (RFC 5737). Note, that I'm not worried about a customer's network blocking these IPs, as this is only internal to our server (packets get NATted before leaving the box). However this does seem more unorthodox than just sticking with the default 192.168.122.x/24 subnet.

• imagecreatefromjpeg() stops working after server upgrade

  We have a server located at a local company's place of business running Solaris/Apache/PHP. They recently did an update to Solaris, Apache, and PHP (security update patches, etc.). Unfortunately it has caused the image manipulation portion of our software to break. imagecreatefromjpeg() is now generating the following error: Warning: imagecreatefromjpeg() [function.imagecreatefromjpeg]: '/path/to/file/filename.jpg' is not a valid JPEG file in /path/to/file/Image.class.php on line XX No PHP code was changed during the server upgrade and it was fully functional before the software upgrades. I checked the files being passed to imagecreatefromjpeg() and they are indeed valid (they open successfully in both image editing software and in my browser). I checked the permissions of the directory from which the files are being opened and they do have read permission. GD library is enabled. I'm not sure what else I can check. Based on the scenario above I am guessing something changed in the software but I don't know what it could be. PHP was version 5.2.5 and is now 5.2.13. I appreciate any guidance as to what could be cause of this issue.

• Weird Excel Formatting

  Recently a new co-op was hired at our company and has been tasked to run a report. The report queries the database and returns a resultset and from there procedes to create the spreadsheets. Depending on the number of days selected a different number of reports are generated but I do not believe that is relavent to the question. Basically it runs the reports and loops through the resultset but at some point continues to loop through until tow 65536 at which it stops. For Example if the resultset contained 74 records then the first 74 rows would appear normally (formatted yellow) while everything after that would also be formatted yellow although it should be left alone. I am inheriting this code as I to am a new co-op. The query is extremely slow to run from which I believe is the use of views but thats neither here nor there. All you have to know is attempting to debug takes an enormous amount of time due to having to wait for the recordset to return. My guess is that its not checking to see if the resultset is empty correctly. Is there a way I could check to see if theres a value is rs.Fields(0) and base it off that maybe? That is the ID column and there should always be a value. I am wondering why rs.EOF isn't catching this though.

  I had a server crash due to a broken iSCSI link (the filesystem went into read-only mode). I have also tried http://code.google.com/p/innodb-tools/. But this tool fails with an error that 'blob' type is not supported. If I try to access the data using the PHP application it crashes MySQL: `100603 19:19:19 - mysqld got signal 11 ; This could be because you hit a bug. It is also possible that this binary or one of the libraries it was linked against is corrupt, improperly built, or misconfigured. This error can also be caused by malfunctioning hardware. • Using Outlook Web Access; MS Office attachments are compressed

  I have MS Office 2007 installed. When am using Outlook Web Access and I receive MS Office 2007 attachments from some colleagues, OWA requires me to save the file, rather than it opening with a double-click. When I "Save Target As..." it gives only the option to save as "Compressed (Zip) File" even though the filename appears as "filename.xlsx" Then, when I open the saved folder, the filename does not appear anywhere. Ideas?

  Hi All, I will be happy if someone clear doubt, i can see objects in view by using <%= debug @object % and lot of methods is there apart from view like .to_yml, etc Is there any method available for seeing the converted sql from ActiveRecord method in view, etc. Although I can find it in console but it will confuse when we run multiple queries.. example: User.find :all it will produce "SELECT * FROM users;" in output console But i want it in view are any other specific point like yml , etc ? • ASP.NET Membership API not working on Win2008 server/IIS7

  I have a very odd problem. I have a web app that uses the .NET Membership API to provide login functionality. This works fine on my local dev machine, using WebDev 4.0 server. I'm using .NET 4.0 with some URL Rewriting, but not on the pages where login is required. I have a Windows Server 2008 with IIS7 However, the Membership API seemingly does not work on the server. I have set up remote debugging and the LoginUser.LoggedIn event of the LoginUser control gets fired okay, but the MembershipUser is null. I get no answer about the username/password being invalid so it seems to be recognising it. If I enter an invalid username/password, I get an invalid username/password response.   I have been using my website (ASP.NET MVC) in visual studio but now I want to host it on my server. I published from visual studio onto the network share to be used. The server is running Windows Home Server, IIS 6 and SQL Server 2008 R2 (express). In Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, I've attached the database and made sure that the user IUSR_SERVER is owner of the db. I also made sure that the user Network Service has access. The Web Site is configured in IIS to run anonymously as IUSR_SERVER. I have granted write and read access to IUSR_SERVER as well as Network Service and made sure that nothing is read only. • Can't change pivot table's Access data source - bug in Excel 2000 SP3?

  I have a set of Excel 2000 SP3 worksheets that have Pivot Tables that get data from an Access 2000 SP3 database created by a contractor who left our company. Unfortunately, he did all his work on his private area on the company (Novell) network and now that he has left us, the drive spec has been deleted and is invalid. We were able to get the database files restored to our network area by our IT Service Desk people, but we now have to re-link everything to point to our group area instead of the now-nonexistent private area. If I follow the advice given elsewhere on this site (open wizard, click 'Back' to get to 'Step 2 of 3', click 'Get Data...' I get a message that the old filespec is an invalid path and I need to check that the path name is invalid and that I am connected to the server on which the file resides. I then click on OK and get a Login dialog with a 'Database...' button on the right. I click this and get a 'Select Database' dialog which allows me to choose the appropriate database in its correct new location. I then click OK, which takes me back to the 'Login' screen. I can confirm that it has accepted my new location by clicking on 'Database...' as before and the NEW location is still shown. So far so good - but if I then click on OK I get two unhelpful messages - first I get one saying that Excel 'Could not use '|'; file already in use.' - although no other files are in use. Clicking on OK takes me back to the 'Login' dialog. Clicking OK again gives me the same message as before telling me that the OLD filespec is invalid (as if I hadn't changed anything) - but clicking on the 'Database...' button shows that the correct (NEW) database location is still selected. Can anyone tell me a way of using VBA to change the link information without having to spend hours fighting the PivotTable Wizard - preferably similar to this way you update an Access Tabledef:- db.TableDefs(strLinkName).Connect = strNewLink db.TableDefs(strLinkName).RefreshLink Thanks!

  Hello, I am using this pagination class and was looking for a way to make the sql query more dynamic instead of having it hardcoded. I have a 3 <li> elements that I want to be filter buttons, meaning when a user clicks on one of these elements I want It to send the id so I can use it in a sql query. So for the $sql = "select * from explore where category='marketing'"; (as seen below). When the user clicks on the 'automotive' button it will change the category above to automotive. • Access problems with IIS 7 and a WCF service

  I have a Silverlight app that calls a WCF service, the service calls some stored procedures in an SQL db using Visual Studio 2008's Link to SQL class and returns the information to whatever called it. I have set up the compiled project (website with embedded app and the WCF service) on an remote IIS 7 server. I recompiled my local copy to use the WCF service that is now hosted on the IIS box and not the one on the local dev server that Visual Studio provides, if I use the local version of the website (hosted on the dev server, and using the remote SCF service) it is able to make calls it needs and display the information. However, if I use the website that is being hosted by the remote IIS server, the app will not get the information it needs from the service. On the IIS server I have the application pool and the website running under my credentials, which have access to the database. Users connecting to the webpage use anonymous authentication. Any ideas as to why I can only access the service when running from the dev server and not through the remotely hosted webpage are appreciated. If anything needs clarification, please ask.

• Trying to install Team viewer on Ubuntu 12.04

  I recently got Ubuntu installed on my server, I wanted to install TeamViewer so i could easy manage the virtual machines, However, I get errors when installing it from App store?, And I also get errors, but more detailed on the terminal.
