I seem to be missing something obvious here, why would I want more than one activity per application in Android? Does somebody have some solid examples?
I'm trying to use a regex like /[computer]{3,8}/ to get any words containing only the letters in computer ranging from 3 to 8 letters long. That regex instead captures all words containing ANY of the letters in [computer]. I've been looking at regular expression examples, but i can't quite figure it out...
How do i modifiy this regular expression to capture words containing ONLY the letters in computer (with a length of 3 to 8)?
Sometimes I have seen following code.
gem 'factory_girl','= 1.2.3'
require 'factory_girl'
I tried to look at gem doc but could not find answer to the question of what does the first line do in code above?
Below I have the code that allows me to edit a table row inline. However it edits ALL of the TDs within that row. My problem, along with the code, are stated below. Any help is appreciated.
<tbody>
<tr>
<th scope="row">Test</th>
<td class="amount">$124</td>
<td class="amount" id="" >$154</td>
<td class="diff">- 754</td>
</tr>
</tbody>
The above table is just a sample. What I have been trying to accomplish is, to simply edit the TDs within that particular row, but I need it to disregard the diff TD.
I'm fairly new to jQuery and have got the following code via the help of a jQuery book.
$(document).ready(function() {
TABLE.formwork('#current-expenses');
});
var TABLE = {};
TABLE.formwork = function(table){
var $tables = $(table);
$tables.each(function () {
var _table = $(this);
_table.find('thead tr').append($('<th class="edit"> </th>'));
_table.find('tbody tr').append($('<td class="edit"><input type="button" value="Edit"/></td>'))
});
$tables.find('.edit :button').live('click', function(e) {
TABLE.editable(this);
e.preventDefault();
});
}
TABLE.editable = function(button) {
var $button = $(button);
var $row = $button.parents('tbody tr');
var $cells = $row.children('td').not('.edit');
if($row.data('flag')) { // in edit mode, move back to table
// cell methods
$cells.each(function () {
var _cell = $(this);
_cell.html(_cell.find('input').val());
})
$row.data('flag',false);
$button.val('Edit');
}
else { // in table mode, move to edit mode
// cell methods
$cells.each(function() {
var _cell = $(this);
_cell.data('text', _cell.html()).html('');
if($('td.diff')){
var $input = $('<input type="text" />')
.val(_cell.data('text'))
.width(_cell.width() - 16);
_cell.append($input);
}
})
$row.data('flag', true);
$button.val('Save');
}
}
I have attempted to alter the code so that it would disregard the diff class TD, but have had no luck so far.

I am going to write a C# WinForms application which will run a long data-crunching task in a BackgroundWorker, show progress in a ProgressBar and have buttons to start, pause, resume and cancel the operation. I'd like to write the calculation in F#. Do you know of any good examples or readings available in the Web which can help me?
I am writing a program that will need to measure time in minutes.
To be exact, it will wait 10 minutes, execute some code, wait 2 minutes, execute more code and repeat this 5 times (anyone guess what I'm trying to do?) and I am wondering how to do the breaks.
Thanks in advance!
Oh, and by the way, I'm on Mac.
Is it a good practice to set stream references to null after closing them? Would this release resources in any way?
Example:
BufferedReader input= new BufferedReader(new FileReader("myfile.txt"));
// code
input.close();
input = null;
// possible more code
Hi,
I am having a hell of a time trying to do what should be something simple.
I have created a Tab Bar Application. How do I change the view SomeView.xib ?
All the examples I see are from View To View, Tab to Nav.
Any suggestions ?
Most often the cleanup rules (Preferences Java Code Style Clean Up) in Eclipse work perfectly and create nice-looking code.
But sometimes, especially with comments and concatenated string snippets (like inline SQL queries), the cleanup just messes things up, and destroys my formatting.
Is there a way to say to Eclipse "Don't touch this block of text! I have formatted it just the way I like, and you would make it just less readable"?
I want to implement a code that loops inside an array that its size is set by the user that means that the size isn't constant.
for example:
A=[1,2,3,4,5]
then I want the output to be like this:
[1],[2],[3],[4],[5]
[1,2],[1,3],[1,4],[1,5]
[2,3],[2,4],[2,5]
[3,4],[3,5]
[4,5]
[1,2,3],[1,2,4],[1,2,5]
[1,3,4],[1,3,5]
and so on
[1,2,3,4],[1,2,3,5]
[2,3,4,5]
[1,2,3,4,5]
Can you help me implement this code?
I'm trying to figure out how to resolve a instance somewhere in the code.

In structure mam there is a static object ObjectFactory.GetInstance<IFoo>()
I writing a Struts 2 application. The main operation I'm trying now is to read from the action call a List and display it in the form of a table in the JSP.
I've searched the net and check out a lot of examples, but in vain.
Can someone point out to a good working example?
Hello,

I am interested in the following features: Code highlighting, Intellisense, Refactorings, Code navigation (Go to Definition etc.).
If this functionality is missing from Visual Studio 2010 maybe Microsoft is planning to add these features in the future or there are community project to develop IronRuby tooling add-in?
Is there a functional-programming equivalent to the Gang of Four Design Patterns book? That is, is there a book that explains and gives examples of how commonly-needed code structures are implemented functionally? I think seeing that would give me a better idea of how to go about using in practice the functional concepts whose theory I understand.
The following does not work:
var js_str= '<?php echo $str_from_server; ?>';
The problem is that, $str_from_server can contain any characters. If it contains single quotes or line breaks or others, the above code will break. And I do not have access to the server-side code. What's the easiest way to "escape" the contents of $str_from_server into a javascript string, and then it can be restored later?
i need the source code of an application that can upload and download automatically from the remote computer (FTP) using java langauge. if any body gey help or the code, kindly contact me through my mail address [email protected]. thanks
I've been reading the Python 3.2 docs about string formatting but it hasn't really helped me with this particular problem.
Here is what I'm trying to do:
stats = { 'copied': 5, 'skipped': 14 }
print( 'Copied: {copied}, Skipped: {skipped}'.format( stats ) )
The above code will not work because the format() call is not reading the dictionary values and using those in place of my format placeholders. How can I modify my code to work with my dictionary?
I want to create an incrementing second timer like a stopwatch.
So I want to be able to display the seconds and minutes incrementing in the format 00:01...
Google only brings up 24 hour clock examples, I was wondering could anyone get me started with an example or tutorial of what I want to do?
A recent issue has arised.
I have my local copy of code at ~/code/ directory where I made a git init. Whenever I copied a folder with files within it, git recognized folders and files normally.
But today I copied a folder and when I did a git status, git recognized hw2/ folder as a file.
Additionally, I removed .git folder and reinitialized git and now every folder is recognized as file.
Any ideas why this could be?
Hello,
I want to start a process (calling another program), currently the external program takes time (it is normal)!
but it freezes my GUI
I saw allot of examples and I'm learning, it is hard to figure it out,
trying to read and learn threading, but it is not that easy (at least for me)
and good simple tutorial or code sample?
cheers
I'm doing a code review and I noticed such a code:
@Entity
@Table(name = "SOME_TABLE")
public class SomeReportClass {
@Column(name = "REPORT_NUMBER", length = 6, nullable = false)
private String reportNumber;
.....
public String getReportNumber() {
return reportNumber;
}
public void setReportNumber(String reportNumber) {
this.reportNumber = StringUtils.trimToNull(reportNumber);
}
}
Every time I see trimming inside of a setter I feel that its not the clearest solution - what is the general practice with that issue?
I've heard this term used, but I'm not entirely sure what it means, so:
What DOES it mean and what DOESN'T it mean?
What are some examples of what IS and ISN'T microbenchmarking?
What are the dangers of microbenchmarking and how do you avoid it?
(or is it a good thing?)
Hi,
I want to execute a query like

s+= " ' " + user + " ', ";
}
s+=")";
Select ID from test where userId in s;
The following code is forming the value of s as ('a','b',)
i want to remove the comma after the end of array how to do this ?
