  • What are the possible reasons for App::import() not working?

    - by Julien Poulin
I'm trying to implement a simple way to manage static pages in CakePhp, as described in this article. The problem I'm facing is that App::import() doesn't seem to import the required class in the routes.php file. The code is the following: App::import('Core','ClassRegistry'); $page = new StaticPage(); $slugs = $page->find('list', array( 'fields' => array('StaticPage.slug'), 'order' => 'StaticPage.slug DESC' )); I'm getting the error: Fatal error: Class 'StaticPage' not found in ... I just started CakePhp a few weeks ago and I guess I'm missing a simple thing here... I'm using CakePhp 1.3 and Php 5.2.42.

  • jquery image swap works in one html file but not another

    - by Jon
    I have two header templates for my site. One for the blog section and one for everything else. The below code swaps an image in my nav menu, on hover. It works for one template but not the other. The html code is pretty much identical in both header templates. Please help me!! $(document).ready(function(){ $('.nav-home, .nav-port, .nav-exp, .nav-cont, .nav-blog').hover(function(){ $(this).attr('src','/images/' + $(this).attr('class') + '-hover.gif'); }, function(){ $(this).attr('src','/images/' + $(this).attr('class') + '.gif'); }); });

  • ToList()-- Does it Create a New List?

    - by Ngu Soon Hui
Let's say I have a class public class MyObject { public int SimpleInt{get;set;} } And I have a List<MyObject>, and I ToList() it and then change one of the SimpleInt, will my change be propagated back to the original list. In other words, what would be the output of the following method? public void RunChangeList() { var objs = new List<MyObject>(){new MyObject(){SimpleInt=0}}; var whatInt = ChangeToList(objs ); } public int ChangeToList(List<MyObject> objects) { var objectList = objects.ToList(); objectList[0].SimpleInt=5; return objects[0].SimpleInt; } Why? P/S: I'm sorry if it seems obvious to find out. But I don't have compiler with me now...

  • Different behavior of reflected generic delegates with and without debugger

    - by Andrew_B
Hello. We have encountered some strange things while calling reflected generic delegates. In some cases with attatched debuger we can make impossible call, while without debugger we cannot catch any exception and application fastfails. Here is the code: using System; using System.Windows.Forms; using System.Reflection; namespace GenericDelegate { public partial class Form1 : Form { public Form1() { InitializeComponent(); } private delegate Class2 Delegate1(); private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { MethodInfo mi = typeof (Class1<>).GetMethod("GetClass", BindingFlags.NonPublic | BindingFlags.Static); if (mi != null) { Delegate1 del = (Delegate1) Delegate.CreateDelegate(typeof (Delegate1), mi); MessageBox.Show("1"); try { del(); } catch (Exception) { MessageBox.Show("No, I can`t catch it"); } MessageBox.Show("2"); mi.Invoke(null, new object[] {});//It's Ok, we'll get exception here MessageBox.Show("3"); } } class Class2 { } class Class1<T> : Class2 { internal static Class2 GetClass() { Type type = typeof(T); MessageBox.Show("Type name " + type.FullName +" Type: " + type + " Assembly " + type.Assembly); return new Class1<T>(); } } } } There are two problems: Behavior differs with debugger and without You cannot catch this error without debugger by clr tricks. It's just not the clr exception. There are memory acces vialation, reading zero pointer inside of internal code. Use case: You develop something like plugins system for your app. You read external assembly, find suitable method in some type, and execute it. And we just forgot about that we need to check up is the type generic or not. Under VS (and .net from 2.0 to 4.0) everything works fine. Called function does not uses static context of generic type and type parameters. But without VS application fails with no sound. We even cannot identify call stack attaching debuger. Tested with .net 4.0 The question is why VS catches but runtime do not?

  • Interface with generic parameters- can't get it to compile

    - by user997112
I have an interface like so: public interface MyInterface<E extends Something1> { public void meth1(MyClass1<E> x); } and I have a subclass whose superclass implements the above interface: public class MyClass2<E extends Something1> extends Superclass{ public MyClass2(){ } public void meth1(MyClass1 x) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub } } superclass: public abstract class Superclass<E extends Something1> implements MyInterface{ MyClass1<E> x; protected E y; public Superclass(){ } } the problem is that the parameter for meth1() is supposed to be generic. If I do MyClass1 it doesn't like it and the only way I can get it to compile is by leaving out generic parameters- which feels wrong. What's going wrong?

  • setting minDate in datepicker in Rails

    - by Sakshi Jain

  • Open generic interface types of open implementation don't equal interface type?

    - by George Mauer
Here's a test that should, in my opinion be passing but is not. [TestMethod] public void can_get_open_generic_interface_off_of_implementor() { typeof(OpenGenericWithOpenService<>).GetInterfaces().First() .ShouldEqual(typeof(IGenericService<>)); } public interface IGenericService<T> { } public class OpenGenericWithOpenService<T> : IGenericService<T> { } Why does this not pass? Given Type t = typeof(OpenGenericWithOpenService<>) how do I get typeof(IGenericService<)? I'm generally curious, but if you're wondering what I'm doing, I'm writing a Structuremap convention that forwards all interfaces implemented by a class to the implementation (as a singleton).

  • How to set -Xbootclasspath for a JRE with a custom launcher?

    - by Tom
I have a Java application which is using a certain Java Runtime Environment. The application uses it's own launcher to startup the java virtual machine. No use of the java.exe, javaw.exe, javaws.exe binaries is being made -- as the application seems to have it's own launcher which is a different executable. This custom launcher is using the rest of the JRE files, such as bin/client/jvm.dll and rt.jar package etc. Now, the problem is that I want to set a boot class path for this custom launcher. The custom launcher does not support the -Xbootclasspath command line parameter, like the default java.exe does. Is there any way for me to set the boot class path now for this java runtime environment? Thanks in advance. Some things to keep in mind: I do not have the source of this application This is meant for self and personal debugging use only, not for distribution

  • custom Filter Android won't show me the results

    - by TiGer
Hi, I have been implementing a class which class extends ArrayAdapter and implements Filterable. The filtering part (in the performFiltering method()) seems to go ok, it fills the FilterResults object just as expected. But then I think I'm not doing it right on how to publish the results, atm I have : protected void publishResults(CharSequence prefix, FilterResults results) { // NOTE: this function is *always* called from the UI thread. subItems = (Vector)results.values; notifyDataSetChanged(); } But this simply won't "populate" my List with the received data. So now my question is how do I populate my List with the received results ? Do I have to do that programmatically ?

  • jQuery fadeTo not working in IE8

    - by Lynda
I have a div fading in using fadeTo. It works great in Firefox and IE9. It does not work in IE8. Here is my code: JS: var $j = jQuery.noConflict(); window.onload = function(){ $j('#fadein').fadeTo(6000, 1, function() { }); }; HTML <div class="img-center" id="fadein" style="opacity:0;"> <img src="src.jpg" alt="Text" class="feature-image" /> </div> How do I get this to work in IE8? I do not mind changing from fadeTo to fadeIn or some other method of fading in a div as long as it works in IE8.

  • How to define template directives (from an API perspective)?

    - by Ralph
Preface I'm writing a template language (don't bother trying to talk me out of it), and in it, there are two kinds of user-extensible nodes. TemplateTags and TemplateDirectives. A TemplateTag closely relates to an HTML tag -- it might look something like div(class="green") { "content" } And it'll be rendered as <div class="green">content</div> i.e., it takes a bunch of attributes, plus some content, and spits out some HTML. TemplateDirectives are a little more complicated. They can be things like for loops, ifs, includes, and other such things. They look a lot like a TemplateTag, but they need to be processed differently. For example, @for($i in $items) { div(class="green") { $i } } Would loop over $items and output the content with the variable $i substituted in each time. So.... I'm trying to decide on a way to define these directives now. Template Tags The TemplateTags are pretty easy to write. They look something like this: [TemplateTag] static string div(string content = null, object attrs = null) { return HtmlTag("div", content, attrs); } Where content gets the stuff between the curly braces (pre-rendered if there are variables in it and such), and attrs is either a Dictionary<string, object> of attributes, or an anonymous type used like a dictionary. It just returns the HTML which gets plunked into its place. Simple! You can write tags in basically 1 line. Template Directives The way I've defined them now looks like this: [TemplateDirective] static string @for(string @params, string content) { var tokens = Regex.Split(@params, @"\sin\s").Select(s => s.Trim()).ToArray(); string itemName = tokens[0].Substring(1); string enumName = tokens[1].Substring(1); var enumerable = data[enumName] as IEnumerable; var sb = new StringBuilder(); var template = new Template(content); foreach (var item in enumerable) { var templateVars = new Dictionary<string, object>(data) { { itemName, item } }; sb.Append(template.Render(templateVars)); } return sb.ToString(); } (Working example). Basically, the stuff between the ( and ) is not split into arguments automatically (like the template tags do), and the content isn't pre-rendered either. The reason it isn't pre-rendered is because you might want to add or remove some template variables or something first. In this case, we add the $i variable to the template variables, var templateVars = new Dictionary<string, object>(data) { { itemName, item } }; And then render the content manually, sb.Append(template.Render(templateVars)); Question I'm wondering if this is the best approach to defining custom Template Directives. I want to make it as easy as possible. What if the user doesn't know how to render templates, or doesn't know that he's supposed to? Maybe I should pass in a Template instance pre-filled with the content instead? Or maybe only let him tamper w/ the template variables, and then automatically render the content at the end? OTOH, for things like "if" if the condition fails, then the template wouldn't need to be rendered at all. So there's a lot of flexibility I need to allow in here. Thoughts?

  • Flex 4 itemRendererFunction problem.

    - by michael
This is a Flex 4 application: I have created a list as the following: <s:List id="previewList" horizontalCenter="14" verticalCenter="-112" itemRendererFunction="listItemRendererFunction" click="controller.previewListClickHandler()"> </s:List> And I have the itemRendererFunction: public function listItemRendererFunction(item:Object):ClassFactory { var cla:Class = SimpleItemRenderer; if( item.save == true ) { cla = ColorItemRenderer; } else { cla = SimpleItemRenderer; } return new ClassFactory(cla); } The application works fine if the listItemRendererFunction is inside fx:Script. However, when I put the listItemRendererFunction into a class and change to the following: itemRendererFunction="controller.listItemRendererFunction" in the List component. If I run the application, I get the " Error #1009". Please advice how to fix it.

  • time on files differ by 1 sec. FAIL Robocopy sync

So every time I run robocopy, it syncs the file again... BTW, problem is the same if I delete the target file and robocopy it from new... still, new file has 1 sec different properties. • Observing 'click' event on <a> tag generated by scriptaculous Builder

    - by bratsche
    I'm using scriptaculous Builder to generate some DOM elements dynamically, and one of them is a link tag. I wasn't sure how to generate this with the click callback inline along with the rest of the Builder code, so I'm generating the link tag ahead of time and then inserting it with the rest of the Builder phase. The problem is that the callback for the link is never actually executed when I click the link, and the URL bar changes to http://localhost/foo/bar/# instead. The callback method is a part of my class, so I'm binding it as an event listener ahead of time. var Foo = Class.create ({ initialize: function () { this.closeBinding = this.doClose.bindAsEventListener (this); }, generate: function () { /* Create the link and bind the click listener */ var close_link = Builder.node ('a', { href: '#' }, 'Close'); Event.observe (close_link, 'click', this.closeBinding); /* Generate the new DOM nodes */ return Builder.node ('div', [ Builder.node ('h2', 'This is a test'), close_link ]); }, doClose: function (evt) { /* This code is never called when I click the link. */ } });

  • Reference table values in a war against magic numbers

    - by Alex N.
This question bugged me for years now and can't seem to find good solution still. I working in PHP and Java but it sounds like this maybe language-agnostic :) Say we have a standard status reference table that holds status ids for some kind of entity. Further let's assume the table will have just 5 values, and will remain like this for a long time, maybe edited occasionally with addition of a new status. When you fetch a row and need to see what status it is you have 2 options(as I see it at least) - put it straight ID values(magic numbers that is) or use a named constant. Latter seem much cleaner, the question though is where those named constants should leave? In a model class? In a class that uses this particular constant? Somewhere else?

  • How to generate entities with Objects?

    - by 01
I want to generate @Enities with seam-gen from existing database. However its generates very simple version only. For Example @Entity @Table(name = "badges") public class Badges implements java.io.Serializable { private Integer id; private **Integer userId**; private String name; private String date; I want him to generate @Entity @Table(name = "badges") public class Badges implements java.io.Serializable { private Integer id; private **User user**; private String name; private String date; I even have constrain on userId and it points to column User.id P.S. Im using MySQL5 and seam gen is using hbm2java to generate entities.

  • Including a List<SpecificType> in a model, and how to populate it

  • Any advice about how to make the design of an application.

    - by VansFannel
Hello. I want to design an application and I don't know where to start. I know I can use UML to design the application, but I don't know the steps I must follow. I've started doing the UML class diagram, but I suppose, I'm been doing the database model, not the class model for the application. If I don't explain it well, tell me. Is there any tutorial about how to design an application? Thank you.

  • C# Elegant way to handle checking for an item in a collection.

    - by JL
I've posted a code sample below. Firstly let me explain termStore.Groups in the code below is a collection of Group Objects (The exact class is irrelevant). Checking for null : if (termStore.Groups[groupName] == null) seems like a logical (clean) approach, but if the Groups collection is empty then an exception is produced. using the termStore.Groups.Contains is not an option either because this expects a strong type i.e: .Contains(Group)... not .Contains(GroupName as string) Can someone recommend a clean / generic way I can check for if an item exists in collection . Thank you.... TermStore termStore = session.TermStores.Where(ts => ts.Name == termStoreName).FirstOrDefault(); if (termStore.Groups[groupName] == null) { termStore.CreateGroup(groupName); termStore.CommitAll(); } Update: The exact class Sharepoint Taxonomy Classes. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/microsoft.sharepoint.taxonomy.group.aspx

  • exclude private property from print_r or object?

    - by Hailwood
    Basically I am using Code Igniter, and the Code Igniter base class is huge, when I print_r some of my objects they have the base class embedded inside them. this makes it a pain to get the information I actually wanted (the rest of the properties). So, I am wondering if there is a way I can hide, or remove the base class object? I have tried clone $object; unset($object->ci); print_r($object); but of course the ci property is private. the actual function I am using for dumping is: /** * Outputs the given variables with formatting and location. Huge props * out to Phil Sturgeon for this one (http://philsturgeon.co.uk/blog/2010/09/power-dump-php-applications). * To use, pass in any number of variables as arguments. * Optional pass in "true" as final argument to kill script after dump * * @return void */ function dump() { list($callee) = debug_backtrace(); $arguments = func_get_args(); $total_arguments = count($arguments); if (end($arguments) === true) $total_arguments--; echo '<fieldset style="background: #fefefe !important; border:2px red solid; padding:5px">'; echo '<legend style="background:lightgrey; padding:5px;">' . $callee['file'] . ' @ line: ' . $callee['line'] . '</legend><pre>'; $i = 0; foreach ($arguments as $argument) { //if the last argument is true we don't want to display it. if ($i == ($total_arguments) && $argument === true) break; echo '<br/><strong>Debug #' . (++$i) . ' of ' . $total_arguments . '</strong>: '; if ((is_array($argument) || is_object($argument)) && count($argument)) { print_r($argument); } else { var_dump($argument); } } echo '</pre>' . PHP_EOL; echo '</fieldset>' . PHP_EOL; //if the very last argument is "true" then die if (end($arguments) === true) die('Killing Script'); }

  • Is there a better way to minimize this C# event repetition?

    - by Damien Wildfire
I have a lot of code like this: public class Microwave { private EventHandler<EventArgs> _doorClosed; public event EventHandler<EventArgs> DoorClosed { add { lock (this) _doorClosed += value; } remove { lock (this) _doorClosed -= value; } } private EventHandler<EventArgs> _lightbulbOn; public event EventHandler<EventArgs> LightbulbOn { add { lock (this) _lightbulbOn += value; } remove { lock (this) _lightbulbOn -= value; } } // ... } You can see that much of this is boilerplate. In Ruby I'd be able to do something like this: class Microwave has_events :door_closed, :lightbulb_on, ... end Is there a similar shorter way of removing this boilerplate in C#?

  • superfish dropdowns to be columned when there's many children and no "grandchildren" nodes

    - by ocergynohtna
    i have a horizontal nav menu that's using jquery superfish. in one of my dropdown menus there'll be no more dropdowns within it (i.e. no grandchildren nodes.) but there are several children. 45 to be exact right now and it may go up or down in time. i'm trying to find a way to have the dropdown be columned passed a certain count. 15 works for me nicely since there are 45. so without showing all the includes here's the html list - and for the sake of less code i'll use 15: <ul class="sf-menu sf-js-enabled sf-shadow" id="menu-1"> <li class="current"> <a href="#a" class="sf-with-ul">menu item<span class="sf-sub-indicator"> »</span></a> <ul style="display: none; visibility: hidden;"> <li> <a href="#aa">menu item</a> </li> <li> <a href="#ab">menu item</a> </li> <li> <a href="#ac">menu item</a> </li> <li> <a href="#ac">menu item</a> </li> <li> <a href="#ad">menu item</a> </li> <li> <a href="#aa">menu item</a> </li> <li> <a href="#ab">menu item</a> </li> <li> <a href="#ac">menu item</a> </li> <li> <a href="#ac">menu item</a> </li> <li> <a href="#ad">menu item</a> </li> <li> <a href="#aa">menu item</a> </li> <li> <a href="#ab">menu item</a> </li> <li> <a href="#ac">menu item</a> </li> <li> <a href="#ac">menu item</a> </li> <li> <a href="#ad">menu item</a> </li> </ul> </li> <li> <a href="#">menu item</a> </li> <li> <a href="#">menu item</a> </li> <li> <a href="#">menu item</a> </li> </ul> so if i wanted the columns to start at 5 i'd have exactly 3 columns. i can't seem to figure out how i can accomplish this and not break everything. i've tried using some css and came up with no solutions. any thoughts are greatly appreciated...
