  • PHP: MySQL query duplicating update for no reason

    - by ThinkingInBits
    The code below is first the client code, then the class file. For some reason the 'deductTokens()' method is calling twice, thus charging an account double. I've been programming all night, so I may just need a second pair of eyes: if ($action == 'place_order') { if ($_REQUEST['unlimited'] == 200) { $license = 'extended'; } else { $license = 'standard'; } if ($photograph->isValidPhotographSize($photograph_id, $_REQUEST['size_radio'])) { $token_cost = $photograph->getTokenCost($_REQUEST['size_radio'], $_REQUEST['unlimited']); $order = new ImageOrder($_SESSION['user']['id'], $_REQUEST['size_radio'], $license, $token_cost); $order->saveOrder(); $order->deductTokens(); header('location: account.php'); } else { die("Please go back and select a valid photograph size"); } } ######CLASS CODE####### <?php include_once('database_classes.php'); class Order { protected $account_id; protected $cost; protected $license; public function __construct($account_id, $license, $cost) { $this->account_id = $account_id; $this->cost = $cost; $this->license = $license; } } class ImageOrder extends Order { protected $size; public function __construct($account_id, $size, $license, $cost) { $this->size = $size; parent::__construct($account_id, $license, $cost); } public function saveOrder() { //$db = Connect::connect(); //$account_id = $db->real_escape_string($this->account_id); //$size = $db->real_escape_string($this->size); //$license = $db->real_escape_string($this->license); //$cost = $db->real_escape_string($this->cost); } public function deductTokens() { $db = Connect::connect(); $account_id = $db->real_escape_string($this->account_id); $cost = $db->real_escape_string($this->cost); $query = "UPDATE accounts set tokens=tokens-$cost WHERE id=$account_id"; $result = $db->query($query); } } ?> When I die("$query"); directly after the query, it's printing the proper statement, and when I run that query within MySQL it works perfectly.

  • Validating JSP's and HTML Forms, Server-side or Client-side, or both?

    - by CitadelCSAlum
    I am aware that I can Google "HTML Form Validation" and would get a billion tutorials. I am well aware that I can use simple JavaScript to validate form input, but I have been told that this is not necessarily an efficient method. I have also heard that it is a best practice to validate both client and server-side code. OK! Well, What exactly does this mean besides writing code on both? Does it mean I do some with JavaScript and other with Servlet's or does it mean that I write identical validation methods on both? My real question is can anybody give me insight and direction as how to go about validation my HTML forms. I am using JSP's and Servlet's and I have tons of form validation to do. I have already done minor form validation with regex in Java, but want to figure out if Im heading in the right track before I write any more code. Only productive answers please, If I wanted negative feedback on how inexperienced I was, I would have gone to Reddit. Thanks!

  • -[UITableViewRowData isEqualToString:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x391dce0

    - by tak
    I have a datatable which shows the list of contacts. when I start the application all the data is loaded correctly.But after selecting a contact, I am sometimes getting this exception :- Program received signal: “EXC_BAD_ACCESS”. and sometimes -[UITableViewRowData isEqualToString:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x391dce0 most probably for this code:- - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { static NSString *CellIdentifier = @"Cell"; UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier]; if (cell == nil) { cell = [[[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleDefault reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier] autorelease]; } ExpenseTrackerAppDelegate *appDelegate = (ExpenseTrackerAppDelegate *)[[UIApplication sharedApplication] delegate]; Person *person = (Person *)[appDelegate.expensivePersonsList objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]; NSString *name = (NSString *)[NSMutableString stringWithFormat:@"%@ %@" ,person.lastName , person.firstName]; cell.textLabel.text = name; //cell.detailTextLabel.text = person.lastName; // Configure the cell. return cell; } If I replace these lines of code NSString *name = (NSString *)[NSMutableString stringWithFormat:@"%@ %@" ,person.lastName , person.firstName]; cell.textLabel.text = name; with this code cell.textLabel.text = person.lastName; then everything works fine? I dont know what exactly happens?

  • Access values of a group of select boxes in php from post

    - by 2Real
    Hi, I'm new to PHP, and I can't figure this out. I'm trying to figure out how to access the data of a group of select boxes I have defined in my HTML code. I tried grouping them as a class, but that doesn't seem to work... maybe I was doing it wrong. This is the following HTML code. <form action="" method="post"> <select class="foo"> <option> 1.....100</option> </select> <select class="foo"> <option> 1.... 500></option> </select> <input type="submit" value="Submit" name="submit"/> </form> I essentially want to group all my select boxes and access all the values in my PHP code. Thanks

  • Saving results to a file in C++

    - by user1680877
    I have a problem with this code. What I am looking for in the code is to get the result of "first" and "second" randomly and put the result in a file. It works great if I run it without using the file and I get all the correct results, but when I try to save the result in the file, I get only the first node which contains (first, secnd). Here is the code: #include<iostream> #include <fstream> #include<cmath> using namespace std; void main() { int first[100],secnd[100]; for (int i=0; i<100 ;i++) { first[i]=rand()%500; //random number from to 499 secnd[i]=rand()%500; //random number from to 499 ofstream myfile; myfile.open ("example.txt"); myfile << "Writing this to a file.\n"; myfile <<first[i]<<" "<<secnd[i]; myfile.close(); } }

  • Entity Framework 5 Enum Naming

    - by Tyrel Van Niekerk
    I am using EF 5 with migrations and code first. It all works rather nicely, but there are some issues/questions I would like to resolve. Let's start with a simple example. Lets say I have a User table and a user type table. The user type table is an enum/lookup table in my app. So the user table has a UserTypeId column and a foreign key ref etc to UserType. In my poco, I have a property called UserType which has the enum type. To add the initial values to the UserType table (or add/change values later) and to create the table in the initial migrator etc. I need a UserType table poco to represent the actual table in the database and to use in the map files. I mapped the UserType property in the User poco to UserTypeId in the UserType poco. So now I have a poco for code first/migrations/context mapping etc and I have an enum. Can't have the same name for both, so do I have a poco called UserType and something else for the enum or have the poco for UserType be UserTypeTable or something? More importantly however, am I missing some key element in how code first works? I tried the example above, ran Add-Migration and it does not add the lookup table for the enum.

  • Anyone NOT using a Web Framework? Why?

    - by tom
    I'm well aware of the many reasons to use a web framework. I'm just wondering whether anyone out there is using absolutely no web framework whatsoever to develop their web projects. I would really love to know the reason(s) why you're not using a web framework. For the sake of this discussion, your programming language of choice does not matter. Some possibilities for discussion: You don't hide behind an ORM. You don't rely on any sort of templating system. You think MVC is a really nice TLA but lacks an essential vowel or two. No need for any additional javascript framework tomfoolery. You just write as much code as possible in your native programming language(s). Summary of reasons thus far: Language learning opportunities. Specific performance reasons (write-intensive transaction processing). Seeking more nuanced control over your data and applications (less abstraction). You're building your own framework! Prove to yourself that you can succeed (or fail) just like the big framework-building gurus. Integration issues with unpopular/legacy technologies (exotic databases or protocols come to mind). Big company, lots of code, no talent nor buy-in present to move to a web framework. Some frameworks really lock you in and cannot perpetually grow along with your needs. These few black sheep don't make it easy to jump outside of the framework, write some custom code, and easily jump back in. When you finally escape the asylum, you'll never look back.

  • Problem logging in and changing permissions in Facebook

    - by kujawk
    Hi everybody, I've got a piece of code that logs into Facebook, gets a session, sets status_update and offline_access permission if they are not set, and gets a new session with the newly set permissions. This code used to work fine but now I'm getting error 100 "One of the parameters specified was missing or invalid" as a response to the second call to get session and I can't figure out why. Here's the sequence in detail: CREATE TOKEN restserver.php?method=auth.createToken&api_key=[our key]&v=1.0&format=JSON&sig=[sig created with our secret] response: new token LOGIN m.facebook.com/login.php?api_key=[our key]&v=1.0&auth_token=[token created above] login screen loads and user successfully logs in with their username/password. GET SESSION restserver.php?method=auth.getSession&api_key=[our key]&v=1.0&format=JSON&auth_token=token created above&sig=[sig created with our secret] response: session key with expiration date and a secret CHECK/AUTHORIZE PERMISSIONS restserver.php?method=users.hasAppPermission&api_key=[our key]&v=1.0&format=JSON&ext_perm=status_update&call_id=[proper id]&session_key=[key returned above]&sig=[sig created with secret returned for get session] response: 0 m.facebook.com/authorize.php?api_key=[our key]&v=1.0&ext_perm=status_update authorization screen loads and user authorizes Same steps for status_update CREATE NEW TOKEN Same steps as done to create the first token LOGIN m.facebook.com/login.php?api_key=[our key]&v=1.0&auth_token=[new token] user is already logged in, redirected to their homepage GET NEW SESSION restserver.php?method=auth.getSession&api_key=[our key]&format=JSON&auth_token=[new token]&sig=[sig created with our secret] response: error 100 - missing or invalid parameter. Of course it doesn't tell me which one. Anybody have any ideas what I'm doing wrong here? I tried skipping the second login and going right to creating the new session and that didn't work. The only thing that seems to work is logging out the user after they've authorized the permissions and having them log back in again. I'd like to avoid this if possible. Can you have two outstanding sessions at one time? This code used to work but I'm thinking maybe something changed on Facebook's end that I'm not aware of. Thanks, kris

  • .net design pattern question

    - by user359562
    Hi. I am trying to understand design pattern problems. I am trying to modify the code like this in winforms and trying to see if any design pattern suits my requirement. Please suggest which is the best design pattern in this scenario. This is very basic code containing 2 tab pages which might have different controls can be added dynamically and read out different files on click of particular tab. To elaborate more... I have written this code to learn and understand design pattern. This is just a scenario where user click on a particular tab which will show dynamic controls generated. public partial class Form1 : Form { public Form1() { InitializeComponent(); } private void tabControl1_SelectedIndexChanged(object sender, EventArgs e) { if (tabControl1.SelectedTab.Name.Equals("tabPage1")) { GeneratedynamicControlsForTab1(); } else if (tabControl1.SelectedTab.Name.Equals("tabPage2")) { GeneratedynamicControlsForTab2(); } } private void GeneratedynamicControlsForTab1() { Label label1 = new Label(); label1.Text = "Label1"; tabPage1.Controls.Add(label1); ReadCSVFile(); } private void GeneratedynamicControlsForTab2() { tabPage1.Controls.Clear(); Label label2 = new Label(); label2.Text = "Label2"; tabPage2.Controls.Add(label2); ReadTextFile(); } private void ReadCSVFile() { } private void ReadTextFile() { } }

  • How to stop the submission of the form using JQUERY?

    - by Param-Ganak
    Hello frineds! I have a form which have many check boxes in it. User will check one or many checkboxes and click on Delete button which is actually submit button then the respective records for selected check boxes are get deleted. Required operation steps are as follows:- When user selects one or more checkboxes and clicks the submit button then a JQUERY code is get executed in which It should checks that if any check box is selected; if not; then is displays alert message and do not submit the form. If it founds that one or more checkboxes are selected it should ask user for his/her confirmation using confirm alert box about the confirmation of deletion. If user press YES button on confirm box then it should submit the form using javascript submit statement. If user pressed the NO button then it should unchecks the checked selected checkboxes and should not submit the form. This is the JQUERY code I had written. $(document).ready(function (){ $("#id_delete").click(function(){ var temp=$("#id_frm input:checkbox:checked"); var len=temp.length; if(len==0) { alert("Please select the order."); } else { if(confirm("Are you sure to delete the selected orders.")) { $("#id_frm").submit(); } else { temp.checked=false; } } }); }); Problems: This code is not working properly. Here 1. It submits form when there is no check box is selected. 2. It submits the form when user press NO button on confirmation dialog box. Please guide me friends in this problem.

  • Can i change the view without changing the controller?

    - by Ian Boyd
    Pretend1 there is a place to type in a name:     Name: __________________ When the text box changes, the value is absorbed into the controller, who stores it in data model. Business rules require that a name be entered: if there is no text entered the TextBox should be colored something in the view to indicate baddness; otherwise it can be whatever color the view likes. The TextBox contains a String, the controller handles a String, and the model stores a String. Now lets say i want to improve the view. There is a new kind of text box2 that can be fed not only string-based keyboard input, but also an image. The view (currently) knows how to determine if the image is in the proper format to perform the processing required to extract text out of it. If there is text, then that text can be fed to the controller, who feeds it to the data model. But if the image is invalid, e.g.3 wrong file format invalid dimensions invalid bit depth unhandled or unknown encoding format missing or incorrectly located registration marks contents not recognizable the view can show something to the user that the image is bad. But the telling the user that something is bad is supposed to be the job of the controller. i'm, of course, not going to re-write the controller to handle Image based text-input (e.g. image based names). a. the code is binary locked inside a GUI widget4 b. there other views besides this one, i'm not going to impose a particular view onto the controller c. i just don't wanna. If i have to change things outside of this UI improvement, then i'll just leave the UI unimproved5 So what's the thinking on having different views for the same Model and Controller? Nitpicker's Corner 1 contrived hypothetical example 2 e.g. bar code, g-mask, ocr 3 contrived hypothetical reasons 4 or hardware of a USB bar-code scanner 5 forcing the user to continue to use a DateTimePicker rather than a TextBox

  • User input in Perl with IO::Socket

    - by David
    I am trying to make a perl program which allows a user to input the host and the port number of a foreign host to connect to using IO::Socket. It allows me to run the program and input a host and a port but it never connects and says "Could not connect to [host] at c:\users\USER\Documents\code\perl\sql.pl line 18, line 2." What am i doing wrong with this code shown below? And also, how can i have input validation on my host, which can either be a host name or an ip address? Thanks a bunch! Code Below use IO::Socket print "Host to connect to: "; chomp ($host = <STDIN>); print "Port to connect with: "; chomp ($port = <STDIN>); while(($port > 65535) || ($port <= 0)){ print "Port to connect with [Port > 0 < 65535] : "; chomp ($port = <STDIN>); } print "\nConnecting to host $host on port $port\n"; $socket = new IO::Socket::INET ( LocalHost => '$host', LocalPort => '$port', Proto => 'tcp', Listen => 5, Reuse => 1 ); die "Could not connect to $host";

  • Iterating over member typed collection fails when using untyped reference to generic object

    - by Alexander Pavlov
    Could someone clarify why iterate1() is not accepted by compiler (Java 1.6)? I do not see why iterate2() and iterate3() are much better. This paragraph is added to avoid silly "Your post does not have much context to explain the code sections; please explain your scenario more clearly." protection. import java.util.Collection; import java.util.HashSet; public class Test<T> { public Collection<String> getCollection() { return new HashSet<String>(); } public void iterate1(Test test) { for (String s : test.getCollection()) { // ... } } public void iterate2(Test test) { Collection<String> c = test.getCollection(); for (String s : c) { // ... } } public void iterate3(Test<?> test) { for (String s : test.getCollection()) { // ... } } } Compiler output: $ javac Test.java Test.java:11: incompatible types found : java.lang.Object required: java.lang.String for (String s : test.getCollection()) { ^ Note: Test.java uses unchecked or unsafe operations. • How to get rid of exceptions thrown by the .NET Framework

    - by Hans Løken
    In a recent project I'm using a lot of databinding and xml-serialization. I'm using C#/VS2008 and have downloaded symbol information for the .NET framework to help me when debugging. The app I'm working on has a global "catch all" exception handler to present a more presentable messages to users if there happens to be any uncaught exceptions being thrown. My problem is when I turn on Exceptions-Thrown to be able to debug exceptions before they are caught by the "catch all". It seems to me that the framework throws a lot of exceptions that are not immediately caught (for example in ReflectPropertyDescriptor) so that the exception I'm actually trying to debug gets lost in the noise. Is there any way to get rid of exceptions caused by the framework but keep the ones from my own code? Update: after more research and actually trying to get rid of the exceptions that get thrown by the framework (many which turn out to be known issues in the framework, example: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1127431/xmlserializer-giving-filenotfoundexception-at-constructor) I finally found a solution that works for me, which is turning on "Just my code" in Tools Options Debugging General Enable Just My Code in VS2008.

  • Embed URL from variable in HTML file in Rails application

    - by TejasM

So while displaying i.e in XXX.html.erb file i am writting below code. Now problem is @movie.trailer is my variable in ruby code which has URL value . I want the embedded video to load with URL given by this variable value. Any suggestion how am i suppose to place the value of Ruby variable(@movie.trailer) in part. <object width="425" height="344"> <param name="movie" value="<% @movie.trailer %>"> </param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"> </param><param name="allowscriptaccess" alue="always"> </param><embed src="<% @movie.trailer %>" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> Note :- This code is working perfectly fine if i statically give value of URL. • How do I get C# to garbage collect aggressively?

    - by mmr
    I have an application that is used in image processing, and I find myself typically allocating arrays in the 4000x4000 ushort size, as well as the occasional float and the like. Currently, the .NET framework tends to crash in this app apparently randomly, almost always with an out of memory error. 32mb is not a huge declaration, but if .NET is fragmenting memory, then it's very possible that such large continuous allocations aren't behaving as expected. Is there a way to tell the garbage collector to be more aggressive, or to defrag memory (if that's the problem)? I realize that there's the GC.Collect and GC.WaitForPendingFinalizers calls, and I've sprinkled them pretty liberally through my code, but I'm still getting the errors. It may be because I'm calling dll routines that use native code a lot, but I'm not sure. I've gone over that C++ code, and make sure that any memory I declare I delete, but still I get these C# crashes, so I'm pretty sure it's not there. I wonder if the C++ calls could be interfering with the GC, making it leave behind memory because it once interacted with a native call-- is that possible? If so, can I turn that functionality off?

  • Google App Engine datastore encoding?

    - by sernaferna
    I'm using the GAE datastore for a Java application, and storing some text that will be in numerous languages. In my servlet, I'm first checking to see if there's any data in the data store, and, if not, I'm creating some, similar to the following: ArrayList<Lang> list = new ArrayList<Lang>(); list.add(new Lang("EN", "English", 1)); list.add(new Lang("ES", "Español", 0)); //more languages here... PersistenceManager pm = PMF.get().getPersistenceManager(); for(Lang l : list) { pm.makePersistent(l); } Since this is using JDO, I guess I should include the relevent parts of the Lang class too: @PersistenceCapable public class Lang { @PrimaryKey private String code; @Persistent private String name; @Persistent private int popularity; // getters & setters & constructors... } However, the non-ASCII characters are giving me grief. I've set my Eclipse project to use the UTF-8 encoding instead of the default Cp1252, so I think I'm okay from that perspective, but when I use the App Engine Data Viewer to look at my data, that Español entry becomes Español, and when I click on it to view it, I get a 500 Server Error. (There are some other entries with right-to-left text that don't even show up in the Data Viewer at all, but one problem at a time...) Is there anything special I can do in my code to set the character encoding, or specify to GAE that the data I'm storing is UTF-8? Or is the problem on the Eclipse side, and is there something I should be doing with my Java code?

  • Web development tool that can comprehend the concept of more than one language in a file at once

    - by thecoshman
    I currently use notepad++ on windows or gedit on ubuntu. Both of them work great with code highlighting and hinting etc. But both of them suffer from a huge flaw. I am yet to find a code editor that can handle this concept: <?php // ooh, look I am doing some php ?><a onclick="alert('hay, some javascript in here now!')"> This link is HTML?!</a> <?PHP echo("NOW we have some php as well!"); ?> At the moment, I just have to settle for the one language. I want something that can think of a that text as a default as HTML, but notice when sections are PHP. I want those sections of PHP to have there own code hinting and highlighting. Even more, lets say in an 'if else' I exit PHP, write some HTML then back into PHP, I want it to work out how the braces ( '{' and '}' ) should match up and let me know if I have missed one. I want the sections of in-line JavaScript to be picked up as such. I want all of these languages to get checked for syntax! Damn it, I want to tool that understands more than one language at once!

  • Selecting a form which is in an iframe using jQuery

    - by Khnle
    I have a form inside an iframe which is inside a jQuery UI dialog box. The form contains a file input type. The jQuery UI dialog contains an Upload button. When this button is clicked, I would like to programmatically call the submit method. My question is how I could select the form which is in a iframe using jQuery. The following code should clarify the picture: <div id="upload_file_picker_dlg" title="Upload file"> <iframe id="upload_file_iframe" src="/frame_src_url" frameborder=0 width=100% scrolling=no></iframe> </div> frame_src_url contains: <form action="/UploadTaxTable" enctype="multipart/form-data" method="post" id="upload-form"> <p>Select a file to be uploaded:</p> <p> <input type="file" name="datafile" size="60"> </p> The jQueryUI dialog box javascript code: $('#upload_file_picker_dlg').dialog({ ... buttons: { 'Close': function() { $(this).dialog('close'); }, 'Upload': function() { $('#upload-form').submit(); //question is related to this line $(this).dialog('close'); } }, .... }); From the javascript code snippet above, how can I select the form with id upload-form that is in the iframe whose id is upload_file_iframe ?

  • Why won't my Setup Project Perform my Custom Registration Process

    - by Jordan S
    I am trying to write an Setup Project/Installer for a class library driver that I wrote in C# using Visual Studio 2008. The driver project has a section of code that looks like this... [ComRegisterFunction] public static void RegisterASCOM(Type t) { Trace.WriteLine("Registration Started."); DoRegistration(true); } In the driver project Properties - "Assembly Information" I have set checked the box that says Make COM-Visible = true. I added a Setup Project to the solution in VS, added the output dll from the driver project so that it installs on the target machine and set the Register property of the dll to "vsdraCOM". So, my understanding is that when the installer runs it SHOULD execute the methods of the dll that are marked with [COMRegisterFunction]. Using SysInternals Debug View I can monitor when the above code snippet is hit by watching for the "Registration started" text to show up in the window. When I build the solution, I can see the text show up so I know the driver is registering properly. The problem is that when I run the installer, I don't think it is doing the registration bit. I see nothing show up in Debug View. And if i try to access my driver via another application I get an error saying it "Cannot create ActiveX object". Why does the registration not occur during the install process? The driver does register for COM but it does NOT call my custom registration method. Does anyone have and suggestions of what I could be missing? Is there another way I can debug this? (I can provide more code if anyone want's to take a look!!)

  • iphone nsarray problem?

    - by Brodie4598
    Okay maybe i just need another set of eyes on this, but I have the following lines of code in one of my view controllers. It takes some data from a file, and populates it into an array using "\n" as a separator. I then use that array to make an NSDictionary, which is used to populate a tableview. It's very simple. However it isnt working. Here's the code: NSString *dataString = [NSString stringWithContentsOfFile:checklistPath encoding: NSUTF8StringEncoding error:NULL]; if ([dataString hasPrefix:@"\n"]) { dataString = [dataString substringFromIndex:1]; } NSArray *tempArray = [dataString componentsSeparatedByString:@"\n"]; NSLog(@"datastring:%@",dataString); NSLog(@"temp array:",tempArray); NSLog(@"%i",[tempArray count]); NSDictionary *temporaryDictionary = [NSDictionary dictionaryWithObject: tempArray forKey:@"User Generated Checklist"]; self.names = temporaryDictionary; NSLog(@"names:%@",names); so in the log, datastring is correct, so it's correctly pulling the data from a file. however for tempArray, i get: 2010-05-17 19:15:55.825 MyApp[7309:207] temp array: for the tempArray count i get: 2010-05-17 19:15:55.826 myApp[7309:207] 5 which is the correct number of strings in the array So i'm stumped. I have the EXACT same few lines of code in a different view controller and it works perfectly. Whats crazier is the last NSLog, that shows the final NSDictionary (names) displays this, which looks correct: 2010-05-17 19:15:55.827 FS Companion[7309:207] names:{ "User Generated Checklist" = ( "System|||ACTION", "System|||ACTION", "System|||ACTION", "System|||ACTION", "System|||ACTION" ); \ am i missing something really obvious??

  • PHP post programmatically

    - by Tural Teyyuboglu
    After user registration, website send activation code to email. something like that. www.domain.com/?activate=<code> I'm creating 2 variants of activation: 1.manual 2.auto Lets say we have index.php. 1.Manual method. When someone wants to activate user manually all things are obvious: User opens page www.domain.com/?activate Index.php checks with following script and includes div file (which contains activation form) if (isset($_GET['activate'])) { $page='activate'; $divfile = 'path to div.php'; } include $divfile; Then page sends form data via ajax to activation.php file. 2.Auto method. Lets say user clicked directly to www.domain.com/?activate=<code>. What I wanna do is, to check if(!empty($_GET['activate'])), if all right ... I can't figure out how to act?! Programmatically send something like POST to activation.php or what? Please help. Thx in advance

  • Am I using the getch() function from the ncurses library incorrectly?

    - by user1692446
    I am writing a Pacman game in c++ using the ncurses library, but I am not able to move the Pacman properly. I have used getch() to move it it up, down, left and right, but it only moves right and does not move anywhere else when I press any other key. This is a code snippet for moving up. I have written similar code with some conditions altered accordingly for moving left, right and down. int ch = getch(); if (ch == KEY_RIGHT) { int i,row,column; //getting position of cursor by getyx function for (i=column; i<=last_column; i+=2) { //time interval of 1 sec mvprintw(row,b,"<"); //print < in given (b,row) coordinates //time interval of 1 sec mvprintw(row,(b+1),"O"); //print "O" next to "<" int h = getch(); //to give the option for pressing another key if (h != KEY_RIGHT) //break current loop if another key is pressed { break; } } } if (condition) { //code to move left } Am I using getch() wrong, or is there something else I have to do?

  • Java - Removing duplicates in an ArrayList

    - by Will
    I'm working on a program that uses an ArrayList to store Strings. The program prompts the user with a menu and allows the user to choose an operation to perform. Such operations are adding Strings to the List, printing the entries etc. What I want to be able to do is create a method called removeDuplicates().This method will search the ArrayList and remove any duplicated values. I want to leave one instance of the duplicated value(s) within the list. I also want this method to return the total number of duplicates removed. I've been trying to use nested loops to accomplish this but I've been running into trouble because when entries get deleted, the indexing of the ArrayList gets altered and things don't work as they should. I know conceptually what I need to do but I'm having trouble implementing this idea in code. Here is some pseudo code: start with first entry; check each subsequent entry in the list and see if it matches the first entry; remove each subsequent entry in the list that matches the first entry; after all entries have been examined, move on to the second entry; check each entry in the list and see if it matches the second entry; remove each entry in the list that matches the second entry; repeat for entry in the list Here's the code I have so far: public int removeDuplicates() { int duplicates = 0; for ( int i = 0; i < strings.size(); i++ ) { for ( int j = 0; j < strings.size(); j++ ) { if ( i == j ) { // i & j refer to same entry so do nothing } else if ( strings.get( j ).equals( strings.get( i ) ) ) { strings.remove( j ); duplicates++; } } } return duplicates; }
