• Problem merging similar XML files with XSL

  I have two documents that I need to merge, that happen in a way that I don't seem to be able to find covered in other examples. Namely, that it needs to match not only on a node's attribute at one level, but also on the value of an attribute a node level below that, to get that node's value. • Reading Xml with XmlReader in C#

  I'm trying to read the following Xml document as fast as I can and let additional classes manage the reading of each sub block. <ApplicationPool><Accounts><Account><NameOfKin></NameOfKin><StatementsAvailable><Statement></Statement></StatementsAvailable></Account></Accounts></ApplicationPool> I can't seem to format the above nicely :( However, I'm trying to use the XmlReader object to read each Account and subsequently the "StatementsAvailable". Do you suggest using XmlReader.Read and check each element and handle it? I've thought of seperating my classes to handle each node properly. So theres an AccountBase class that accepts a XmlReader instance that reads the NameOfKin and several other properties about the account. Then I was wanting to interate through the Statements and let another class fill itself out about the Statement (and subsequently add it to an IList). Thus far I have the "per class" part done by doing XmlReader.ReadElementString() but I can't workout how to tell the pointer to move to the StatementsAvailable element and let me iterate through them and let another class read each of those proeprties. Sounds easy!

• Schema Inheritance in BizTalk Server

  Hi, I just wondering if anyone has already tried of doing something like schema inheritance in BizTalk schemas? I am using WCF Adapter and using 'consume adapter service' to generate a schema automatically, what I wanted is instead of always generating a schema and since most of my schema is the same then I want to have something like a base schema. I have this scenario that I'm testing flat file debatching, for debatching I need to set maxoccur property of the schema to '1' but for batch processing it should be '*', instead of creating a two different schemas I want just to create a base schema and inherit from it and then change the maxoccur property in the derived schema. • Enabling XML-documentation for code contracts

  One nice feature that code contracts offer is updating of code documentation. If you are using source code documenting features of Visual Studio then code contracts may automate some tasks you otherwise have to implement manually. In this posting I will show you some XML documentation files with documented contracts. I will also explain how this feature works. Enabling XML-documentation in project settings As a first thing let’s enable generating of code documentation under project settings. Open project properties, move to Build page and make check to checkbox called “XML documentation file”. Save project settings and rebuild project. When project is built go to bin/Debug folder and open the XML-file. Enabling code contracts documentation Code contracts have their own settings and conditions for documentation. Open project properties and move to Code Contracts tab. From “Contract Reference Assembly” dropdown check Build and make check to checkbox “Emit contracts into XML doc file”. And again – save project setting, build the project and move to bin/Debug folder. Now you can see that there are two files for XML-documentation: <assembly name>.XML <assembly name>.old.XML First files is documentation with contracts, second file is original documentation without contracts. Messages that I provided with code contracts are also available in documentation. If I wrote very good and informative messages then these messages are very useful also in contracts documentation. Code contracts and Sandcastle Sandcastle knows nothing about code contracts by default. There is separate package of file for Sandcastle that is provided you by code contracts installation. You can read from code contracts manual: “Sandcastle (http://www.codeplex.com/Sandcastle) is a freely available tool that generates help les and web sites describing your APIs, based on the XML doc comments in your source code. The CodeContracts install contains a set of les that can be copied over a Sandcastle installation to take advantage of the additional contract information. The produced documentation adds a contract section to methods with declared requires and/or ensures. In order for Sandcastle to produce Contract sections, you need to patch a number of files in its installation. Please refer to the Sandcastle Readme.txt found under Start Menu/CodeContracts/Sandcastle for instructions. A future release of Sandcastle will hopefully support contract sections without the need for this patching step.” Integrating code contracts documentation to Sandcastle will be one of my next postings about code contracts. Conclusion if you are using code documentation then documentation about code contracts can be added to documentation very easily. All you have to do is to enable XML-documentation for contracts and build your project. Later you can use Sandcastle files provided by code contracts installer to integrate contracts documentation to your output documentation package.

  Hi I am new to Oracle and I am working on something that needs to parse a SOAP request and save the address to DB Tables. I am using the XML parser in Oracle (XMLType) with XPath but am struggling since I can't figure out the way to parse the SOAP request because it has multiple namespaces. Could anyone give me an example? (but that is not what I want) The question is: how can I produce unordered schema with the extension? Thanks

• how to close popup using javascript with xml formatting

  I bought this program that created a pretty nice imageuploader flash script however I can't get the Javascript function close window to close the popup and redirect the original page. here is the XML piece that defines the url's: <urls urlToUpload="upload.php?" urlOnUploadSuccess="http://www.home.com/purchase.html" urlOnUploadFail="http://www.home.com/tryagain.html" urlUpdateFlashPlayer="http://www.home.com/flashalternative.html" jsFunctionNameOnUpload=""/> This last line calls a javascript function on upload. The problem is I don't know what to call and where to put it.   Hi there, I need to find out if anything exists between two nodes. My XML looks like this: <event value1="1" value2="2" value3="3" <info="some info here"/> Line 1.</lb> Line 2.</lb></lb> Line 3.</lb> Line 4.</lb> </event> My goal is to convert the </lb> nodes to </br> HTML tags using XSLT. There is one additional requirement to fulfill though. In case there is one </lb> directly following another </lb> I want to output only one </br>. My XSLT looks like this: <xsl:template match="lb"> <xsl:if test="not(preceding-sibling::lb[1])"> <br/> </xsl:if> </xsl:template> The problem with the XSLT above is that it works correctly for line 1 only as the text between both nodes is ignored. Maybe someone here can help.

• Wordpress XML-RPC call from Objective C: wp.newComment

  I'm using Eric Czarny's Cocoa XML-RPC framework to make a call to the Wordpress API's. I've downloaded the sample app from Wordpress which gives some good examples. Unfortunately the good examples are for every call EXCEPT wp.newComment. I'm trying to post a comment using the code below and I keep getting an error with a localized description that tells me to check my input parameters. I've checked and rechecked and I don't understand what is wrong. Any ideas? Given this XML: <matrix> <row> <column>0.51</column> <column>0.52</column> <column>0.53</column> <column>0.54</column> </row> <row> <column>0.61</column> <column>0.62</column> <column>0.63</column> <column>0.64</column> </row> I am trying to define a DataGrid such that the row nodes will represent new rows in the DataGrid and the column nodes will be used to auto-populate the DataGrid's columns. I am having a problem setting the dataField for each of the DataGridColumn ojects created. The DataGrid is created but the cell values for row 1 are all 0.51 and row 2 are 0.61. What am I doing wrong here?

  Thus the structure is something like this: OasisReportMessagePayloadRTOReport_ItemReport_Data Under report data it's broken into categories: >>Zone >>Type >>Value >>Interval What I need to do is: Get the value if the type is equal to 'myType' and the interval value is the LARGEST. So an example of the xml might be (under report_data): OasisReport MessagePayload RTO REPORT_ITEM REPORT_DATA <zone>myZone1</zone> -- This should be the same in all reports since I only get them for 1 zone <type>myType</type> --This can change from line to line <value>12345</value>--This changes every interval <Interval>122</Interval> -- This is essentially how many 5 minute intervals have taken place since the beginning of a day, finding the "max" lets me know it's the newest data. Thereby I want to find stuff of "MyType" for the "max" interval and pull the Value (into a string, or a double, if not I can convert from string. Can someone help me with this task? Thanks! Note: I've used Xpath to handle things like this in the past, but it seems outlandish for this... as it's SO complex (since not all the reports live in the same report_item, and not all the types are the same in each report)

  Using this xslt file found on this blog to pretty print xml using Nokogiri, everything almost works, but to the point where I can't use it for HTML. First, if a node is empty, it turns it into a self closing node, so: <textarea></textarea> gets converted to <textarea/> But that messes up the html tree when rendered. Second, if the node just has text, the text isn't tabbed, and the closing node isn't tabbed, so: <li> <label>some text</label> </li> becomes: <li> <label>some text </label> </li> ...but it would ideally be: <li> <label> some text </label> </li> Does anyone who's pro at XSLT know a quick fix for this?

• Is it legal to have different SOAP namespaces/versions between the request and response?

  THIRD EDIT: I now believe that this problem is due to a SOAP version mismatch (1.1 request, 1.2 response) masquerading as a namespace problem. Is it illegal to mix versions, or just bad style? Am I completely out of luck if I can't change my SOAP version or the service's? SECOND EDIT: Clarified error message, and tried to reduce "tl;dr"-ness. EDIT: [Link deleted, not related] Using soapUI, I'm sending a request that starts with: <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" ... and getting a response that starts with: <soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope" ... I know the service is getting the info, because processes down the line are working. However, my soapUI teststep fails. It has two active assertions: "SOAP Response" and "Not SOAP Fault." The failure marker is next to "SOAP Response," with the following message: line -1: Element Envelope@http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope is not a valid Envelope@http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/ document or a valid substitution. I have tried mixing and matching the namespace prefixes and schema URLs. Changing prefixes seems to have no effect; changing URLs causes a VersionMismatch error. I have also tried to use a substitution group, but that doesn't seem to be legal.
