    Weve been talking about this for a while, and today is the magical day. EasySearchASP.net will no longer be a product sold by myKB.com, Inc. While the product still has a support life, and there are still (minute) sales, it is no longer financially prudent to keep the product on the market. Were not investing any more dev resources into the product, and every day the product is more and more dated.   • Slightly off topic - How to Fix Sky Go Error [t6013-c1501] (and [t6000-c1501])

    Sky doesn't seem to understand what their own errors mean, so I cobbled together an understanding from some other posts and managed to get it working.When you see the error [t6013-c1501] instead of your TV programme in Sky Go, it seems to mean:'You registered a device, but then changed the hardware, so now I'm confused!'In other words, the Digital rights management (DRM) used between Sky Go and Silverlight stored an old fingerprint of your PC, but rather than recognising this and allowing you to remove the device, it just disappears from the 'Manage Devices' page.DISCLAIMER: Perform the following steps at your own risk. It worked for me, but I didn't care if it broke stuff. If you care....don't do it!So, to fix this I did the following:1. Login to Sky Go and click 'Watch live TV' from the home page. It will attempt to show Sky News and fail with the error [t6013-c1501].2. Right click on the error and you should see the Menu option 'Silverlight'. Select this and a dialog should appear. Click the 'Application Storage' tab and delete any entry that relates to sky go. Clcik OK to close the dialog.3. Open explorer and navigate to the folder C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\PlayReady4. Rename the file mspr.hds to mspr.hds.OLD5. Go back to the browser and click F5. You may need to logout/login (not sure).Note: Don't rename/delete the folder C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\PlayReady or you will get the error [t6000-c1501]. The folder must exist in order for the new file to be created by Silverlight. Techie talk:So whoever wrote the code to create a new mspr.hds file didn't write code to check the folder existed causing what I assume is a generic error t6000, probably something like:catch (Exception ex) { WriteToLog("Oops, something broke!"); }#

  • XNA 3D coordinates seem off

    I'm going through a book, and the example it gave me seems like is should work, but when I try and implement it, it falls short. My Camera class takes three vectors in to generate View and Projection matrices. I'm giving it a position vector of (0,0,5), a target vector of Vector.Zero and a top vector (which way is up) of Vector.Up. My Three vertices are placed at (0,1,0), (-1,-1,0), (1,-1,0). It seems like it should work because the vertices are centered around the origin, and thats where I'm telling the camera to look but when I run the game, the only way to get the camera to see the vertices is to set its position to (0,0,-5) and even then the triangle is skewed. Not sure what's wrong here. Any suggestions would be helpful. Just to make sure I've given you guys everything (I don't think these are important as the problem seems to be related to the coordinates, not the ability of the game to draw them): I'm using a VertexBuffer and a BasicEffect.   • How to fix footer cutting off content in an above div [closed]

    I am working on this web page: https://ws.missouristate.edu/factbook/execsummary/ and as you can see the page footer is covering the content. I have tried to adjust many CSS properties such as overflow, position, height, float, etc. in firebug and none of my edits have had any positive effect. I am even using a clearing div. Perhaps I am overlooking something pretty easy. How do I prevent the footer from covering up the table content?

  • Booting off a ZFS root in 14.04

    I've been running a Debian derivative (LMDE) on a ZFS root for half a year now. It was created by cloning a regular ext4-based install with all the necessary packages onto a ZFS pool, chrooting into that pool and recreating a grub menu and bootloader. The system uses an ext-3 dedicated /boot partition. I would like to do the same with Ubuntu 14.04, but have encountered several obstacles. There is no Trusty zfs-grub package The default grub package doesn't have ZFS support built in. I found a small bug in the build system responsible for that (report with patch created) and built my own grub packages. The built-in ZFS support is dysfunctional, it does not add the proper arguments to the kernel command line I thus installed the ZoL grub package I also use on my LMDE system, which does give me a correct grub.cfg However, even with that correct grub.cfg, the boot process apparently doesn't retrieve the bootfs parameter from the ZFS pool; instead the variable that's supposed to receive the value remains empty. As a result, initrd tries to load the default pool ("rpool"), which fails of course. I can however import the pool by hand, and complete the process by hand. If memory serves me well, I also had to disable apparmor, to avoid the boot process from blocking after importing the pool. Am I overlooking something? Just for comparison, I installed the Ubuntu 3.13 kernel on my LMDE system, and that works just fine (i.e. the identical kernel and grub binaries allow successful booting without glitches on LMDE but not on Ubuntu).

  • monitor height differences & the mouse going off screen

    In ubuntu 10.10 I have a dual monitor setup. I have an nVidia graphics card and am using twinview. One of the monitors is 1024 pixels high and the other is 900. In the monitor configuration screen & in real life, I have them set up side by side, 1024 on the left. The result of this is that when I am on the bottom of the left monitor and move the mouse to the right, it goes into the hidden area below the right monitor's visible area. It seems like it would make a lot more sense for it to be bumped up to the bottom of the right monitor - since one almost never wants to move the mouse into an area of the screen that doesn't show up. And, systems I have used before have been set up that way. How can I set this up? I am not interested in lists of window managers for ubuntu; I would like to know the identity of a particular WM or set of steps I can take to solves the particular problem I have outlined above. Thanks! EDIT: I changed to use two seperate X window monitors, and set them up relatively positioned so that just the corner touches and the mouse can cross there, so the difference in heights doesn't matter.

  • Knockback enemy based off of direction sprite is facing

    Hey Everyone, Today I am trying to make it so if I hit the enemy then the enemy well be knocked backwards in the direction the sprite is facing. I am rotating the sprite around 360 degrees using a joystick on the screen and wanted to know the best practice or ways to accomplish this. I have come up with a few ideas but none of them make use of the sprites angle he is facing just a check to see if I hit the bottom then move him upward and so forth. I am just stumped on how to apply the sprites angle to the enemies x and y coordinate and move him accordingly. Has anyone tried this and have suggestions or things to look for? Thanks in advance.

    We have a page where a user can sign a pledge to recycle by clicking a pledge button. A script writes it to a text file which updates the number on the page. In the past 2 days there have been 185 pledges signed but only 63 page views in GA. I trust that they are unique pledges and not just people adding multiple fake names and entering it. Is there anyway to get a better report from Google Analytics?

    So about half an hour ago I decided to try out Ubuntu and in the process of doing so, my hard drive got wiped. My Windows 8 installation, and all the files with it are gone. Since my laptop came preinstalled with Windows 8, I don't have a disk or anything to use to install it again. I guess I'll have to install all of my things again, but first, I just want to know how to get Windows 8 back(will the serial number on the bottom of my laptop work?) so I can get back to an OS I'm familiar with.   • If the bug is 5+ years old, then is it a feature?

    Allow me to add details: I work at an institutional place with many coders, testers, QA analysts, product owners, etc. and here is something that bugs me: We have been able to sell crappy (albeit pretty functional) software for over a decade. It has many features and the product is competitive, but there are a some serious bugs out there, as well as thousands of "paper cuts" - little annoyances that clients need to get used to. It pains me to look at some of the things because I firmly believe that if computers do not help to make our lives easier, then we should not use them. I have confidence in my colleagues - they are smart, able, and can improve things when the focus is on doing that. But, it can be difficult to file bugs against some old functionality without seeing them closed or forgotten. "It worked like that for ions" is a typical answer. Also, when QA does regression, they tend to look for anything that is different as much as anything that does not seem right. So, a fix to an old problem can be written up as a bug, because "it has been like that before even my time". The young coder in me thinks: rewrite this freaking thing! As someone who had the opportunity to be close to sales, clients, I want to give a benefit of a doubt to this approach. I am interested in your opinion/experience as well. Please try to consider risk, cost-to-benefit, and other non-technical factors.
