  A nice feature of the highly customizable music player foobar2000 is to generate autoplaylists. Autoplaylists are filtered lists of music that automatically update when you add new music to your collection. You would usually generate one by searching for something and saving it as new autoplaylists, e.g.: %added% DURING LAST 4 WEEKS %genre% HAS jazz OR %genre% HAS downtempo %date% GREATER 1949 AND %date% LESS 1970 Autoplaylist playlists are locked: You can't add or delete files. You can note that thanks to the little icon in the status bar at the bottom of your screen: foobar2000 let's you customize nearly everything, so here is my question: Is there a way to change the layout of the autoplaylists? For example i want to change the background-color in my playlist view. I use the Columns UI component.

• Convert an entire DVD (with chapter menus) to Flash?

  I was recently asked to put a DVD onto a website - I ripped the chapters individually as MP4 files and created a nicely formatted playlist which lets you select the chapter you'd like, but apparently it's a really big requirement that the original DVD menus are preserved too. Agh. I have no experience with using Flash or ActionScript whatsoever, and do not even have the software, so I was wondering if there is any software out there that could do this? I'm not too worried by cost as it'll presumably be cheaper than buying a copy of Flash anyway.

• Display Song Lyrics in Windows Media Player with Lyrics Plugin

  Looking for a way to display song lyrics in Windows Media Player? Today we look at a very simple method to accomplish this with Lyrics Plugin for Windows Media Player. Download and run the Lyrics Plugin install. (See download link below) When the installation is finished you’ll be prompted to run Windows Media Player. Click Yes. Begin playing your song or playlist then switch to Now Playing mode.   You should now see the full song lyrics of the currently playing track. To toggle the lyrics on and off, select Tools from the Menu in Library view, choose Plug-ins, and click Lyrics Plugin. If you don’t see the Menu bar, you can enable it by going to Organize, Layout, and Show Menu Bar. • VLC 2.0.3 on Lubuntu 12.04: No audio?

  I am on Lubuntu 12.04, and I have installed VLC media player version 2.0.3. When I try and play an audio file, it appears to load fine, and the media position bar displays the progress, and it says it is playing, but I can't here any thing through my speakers. I can hear game audio, web audio, and audio from SMPlayer just fine, but with VLC, I can't here anything. It would eventually start working after I messed around with the audio settings, but it happened every restart. I eventually switched to SMPlayer, but now I need some of the features that VLC offers, but I still can't use VLC. At this point, the audio can not be heard at all, and the method I used before, messing around with the audio settings, isn't getting me anywhere. • How do I set up live audio streams to a DLNA compliant device?

  Is there a way to stream the live output of the soundcard from our 12.04.1 LTS amd64 desktop to a DLNA-compliant external device in our network? Selecting media content in shared directories using Rygel, miniDLNA, and uShare is always fine - but so far we completely failed to get a live audio stream to a client via DLNA. Pulseaudio claims to have a DLNA/UPnP media server that together with Rygel is supposed to do just this. But we were unable to get it running. We followed the steps outlined in live.gnome.org, this answer here, and also in another similar guide. As soon as we select the local audio device, or our GST-Launch stream in the DLNA client Rygel displays the following message and the client states it reached the end of the playlist: (rygel:7380): Rygel-WARNING **: rygel-http-request.vala:97: Invalid seek request This is how we configured GST-Launch in rygel.conf: [GstLaunch] enabled=true launch-items=mypulseaudiosink mypulseaudiosink-title=Audio on @HOSTNAME@ mypulseaudiosink-mime=audio/x-wav mypulseaudiosink-launch=pulsesrc device=<device> ! wavpackenc For <device> we tried with the default sink name, this name appended with .monitor, and in addition with upnp-sink and upnp.monitor that was created when we selected DLNA media server from paprefs. • Manage Sending 2010 Documents to the Web with Office Upload Center

  One of the main new features being touted in Office 2010 is the ability to upload documents to the Web for sharing and collaboration. Today we look at using Office Upload Center to help manage your uploaded documents. Microsoft Office Upload Center  When you upload an Office 2010 document to the web, a handy tool to manage them is the Office Upload Center. It’s a way to see what is being uploaded or what might have failed to reach the servers. It lets you know if a document failed to upload for some reason. In this case it looks like the incorrect credentials were entered when signing into Windows Live. Click on the Resolve button to get a list of actions you can take to get things corrected.   You can access the Upload Center from the icon which appears on the System Tray when uploading documents. Right-click the icon to control notifications, pause uploads, and access its settings. In the Settings section you can choose how Upload Center displays notifications, select the number of days to keep files in Cache, and delete currently cached files. • C++ - Unwanted characters printed in output file.

  This is the last part of the program I am working on. I want to output a tabular list of songs to cout. And then I want to output a specially formatted list of song information into fout (which will be used as an input file later on). Printing to cout works great. The problem is that tons of extra character are added when printing to fout. Any ideas? • IPhone track title

  If you have an IPhone, you probably know that the name in the playlist comes from the “Title”-attribute instead of the filename. Usually that is not a problem. But when I plug my IPhone to the car stereo the tracks are sorted alphabetically by the “title”-attribute. That becomes a problem when You have an e-book where each chapter starts with “Track 01”. You can manually update this in the file properties (from the context menu in Windows Explorer), but doing so for +200 tracks – no thank you :) The FileInfo-class does not contain a property for this special audio file attribute. However the problem is easily solved using TagLib. • Drop on NSTableView Behavior

  Hi, I have an NSTableView and I have successfully implemented both tableView:validateDrop:proposedRow:proposedDropOperation: and tableView:acceptDrop:row:dropOperation:. I don't need tableView:writeRowsWithIndexes:toPasteboard: because that's for dragging objects out of the NSTableView. Now, the problem is that I want it to behave kind of iTunes-like. In iTunes 9.x (I don't remember it for the previous versions) you have an NSTableView (the playlist) and when you drag a file over it you get this blue focus inside the NSTableView (maybe it's the NSScrollView?) and you don't have the blue horizontal line that indicates where you're going to insert an object. So basically I would like: No blue horizontal insert line between rows when hovering a file over the NSTableView. The blue focus inside the NSTableView (or NSScrollView). Any help would be greatly appreciated so thank you in advance.

• Can the Windows Media Player COM control play AVI files from memory (instead of from a file)?

  I have a C# app, and I'm looking at using the Windows Media Player COM control to play animation and audio. So far, the only way I see of programatically controlling what the control is playing is to set its URL property to point to some file (I assume there's some way to pass in a playlist). Is there any way the WMP can render an AVI that is entirely in-memory, like a MemoryStream or something? If so, can WMP skip from one AVI to the next seamlessly (i.e. no glitch in either the audio or the video as it transitions from one to the next)? If WMP only plays files, is there some way to cue up a list of the files in advance of play start? If so, can WMP be made to skip from one file to the next without a brief interruption? Any knowledge or links to knowledge would be much appreciated.

When I click on the seeker to move it to a certain position, the song stops playing but the seeker moves. What's the problem and how do I fix it? How do I create a volume increase/decrease bar? How can I open several mp3s and queue them up like a playlist? Thank you
