  • IOC Container that can target .NET Framework Client Profile?

    On our current WPF project, we've been performing dependency injection using the Ninject IOC tool. We want to target the .NET Framework Client Profile for a better download/install experience. The problem is that Ninject seems to reference libararies such as System.Web which are NOT in the Client Profile. Can anyone recommend an IOC container that can target the .NET Framework Client Profile (3.5 or 4) ?

  • iPhone NSXMLParser parsing string and storing in a NSNumber variable and different data types

    Hi, I am trying to parse a XML File using NSXMLParser, I also have a Container class, in which I have a few instance variables. One of the elements that I am trying to parse in the XML is: <book sn="32.859669048339128" pn="-116.917800670489670"> I am trying to save the value of sn and pn in an instance variable of object Container: NSNumber *sn, NSNumber *pn. I want it so that when my parser get the attributeValues it can save it as a Double (or float) in those NSNumber pointers. Right now, all it does it just saves a string to the NSNumber. The Parser Code looks like this: if([elementName isEqualToString:@"book"]){ container = [[Container alloc] init]; container.sn=[attributeDict objectForKey:@"sn"]; container.pn=[attributeDict objectForKey:@"pn"]; } I want it so that the type of container.sn is initialized to a float or double.     Hello everyone, I've got the following two commands for imagemagick in the command line: convert in.png container-mask.png +matte -compose CopyOpacity -composite out.png composite container.png out.png -compose multiply final.png Those two commands include 3 files: in.png: the file that should be masked container-mask.png: the back/white mask of the areas of container.png where in.png should be visible container.png image that includes the container for in.png, the one that has been masked in black/white with container-mask.png Now the question is how to transpose this commands into PHP calls. Quote from http://twitter.github.com/bootstrap/scaffolding.html#layouts That's exactly what I have in my HTML but when I inspect the element, I see this CSS apply to it: .container, .navbar-fixed-top .container, .navbar-fixed-bottom .container { width: 1170px; } By the way, if I override that CSS rule by adding... div.container{ width:940px; } Then the elements inside the div.container are wider than the div.container itself and look out of place. So, why is the Twitter Bootstrap "fixed" layout NOT fixed? and how can I make it fixed?

  • nginx server over https using up all available file handles (upd: infinite loop?)

    Hi all, So I have an nginx server that's working over https with Sinatra. When I try to download a jnlp file in a configuration that works fine over Mongrel and http (no s), the nginx server fails to serve the file with a 504 error. Subsequent checking of the logs states that this error is due to overflowing the available number of file handles, ie, "24: too many open files". EDIT: nginx 0.7.63, ubuntu linux, sinatra 1.0 EDIT 2: Here's the offending code. EDIT: I have since upgraded to passenger 2.2.14, ruby 1.9.1, nginx 0.8.40, openssl 1.0.0a, and no change. EDIT: The culprit appears to be infinite redirects due to using SSL. I don't know how to fix this, other than hosting the jnlp file in the root directory of the server (which I'd rather not do, since it limits me to one jnlp-based app at a time). The relevant lines from nginx.conf: # HTTPS server # server { listen 443; server_name MyServer.org root /My/Root/Dir; passenger_enabled on; expires 1d; proxy_set_header X-FORWARDED_PROTO https; proxy_set_header X_FORWARDED_PROTO https;#the almighty google is not clear on which to use location /upload { proxy_pass https://127.0.0.1:443; } } The funny thing about this is, first, I was putting the jnlp into a directory called 'uploader', not 'upload', but that still appeared to trigger the problem, since that proxy_pass directive appeared in the logs. Second, again, moving the jnlp into root avoided the problem, because there wasn't any of this proxying due to ssl. So, how can I avoid the infinite proxy_pass loop in nginx?

  • Mulit-tenant ASP.NET MVC – Controllers

    Part I – Introduction Part II – Foundation   The time has come to talk about controllers in a multi-tenant ASP.NET MVC architecture. This is actually the most critical design decision you will make when dealing with multi-tenancy with MVC. In my design, I took into account the design goals I mentioned in the introduction about inversion of control and what a tenant is to my design. Be aware that this is only one way to achieve multi-tenant controllers.   The Premise MvcEx (which is a sample written by Rob Ashton) utilizes dynamic controllers. Essentially a controller is “dynamic” in that multiple action results can be placed in different “controllers” with the same name. This approach is a bit too complicated for my design. I wanted to stick with plain old inheritance when dealing with controllers. The basic premise of my controller design is that my main host defines a set of universal controllers. It is the responsibility of the tenant to decide if the tenant would like to utilize these core controllers. This can be done either by straight usage of the controller or inheritance for extension of the functionality defined by the controller. The controller is resolved by a StructureMap container that is attached to the tenant, as discussed in Part II.   Controller Resolution I have been thinking about two different ways to resolve controllers with StructureMap. One way is to use named instances. This is a really easy way to simply pull the controller right out of the container without a lot of fuss. I ultimately chose not to use this approach. The reason for this decision is to ensure that the controllers are named properly. If a controller has a different named instance that the controller type, then the resolution has a significant disconnect and there are no guarantees. The final approach, the one utilized by the sample, is to simply pull all controller types and correlate the type with a controller name. This has a bit of a application start performance disadvantage, but is significantly more approachable for maintainability. For example, if I wanted to go back and add a “ControllerName” attribute, I would just have to change the ControllerFactory to suit my needs.   The Code The container factory that I have built is actually pretty simple. That’s really all we need. The most significant method is the GetControllersFor method. This method makes the model from the Container and determines all the concrete types for IController.  The thing you might notice is that this doesn’t depend on tenants, but rather containers. This is something that I don’t use and have no desire to implement and test. The reason I am not using namespaces in this situation is because each tenant has its own namespaces and the routing would not make sense in this case.   Because we are using IoC, dependencies are automatically injected into the constructor. For example, a tenant container could implement it’s own IRepository and a controller could be defined in the “main” project. The IRepository from the tenant would be injected into the main project’s controller. This is quite a useful feature.   Again, the source code is on GitHub here.   Up Next Up next is the view resolution. This is a complicated issue, so be prepared.   • Why the CCLayer can't use a for loop in draw method??

    I have a CClayer, that have a draw method, every second, it will call the draw method 60 times. So, I have method like this: -(void)draw{ glEnable(GL_LINE_SMOOTH); glColor4f(0.0f, 1.0f, 0.0f, 1.0f); glLineWidth(5.0f); ccDrawLine(ccp(300,20), CGPointZero); } I work great. but after I added a for looop, for example....: -(void)draw{ glEnable(GL_LINE_SMOOTH); glColor4f(0.0f, 1.0f, 0.0f, 1.0f); glLineWidth(5.0f); ccDrawLine(ccp(300,20), CGPointZero); for(int i=0; i<5; i++){ NSLog(@"Testing the loop, %i", i); } } It can't draw anything, the screen only black. But I can see the Testing the loop is keep calling.... Why? thank you.

  • graphics don't draw when loop condition is dates. c#, winForms

    so i got this piece of code. (currPosX is defined earlier) while (earliestDate < DateTime.Today) { currPosX = currPosX + 5; e.Graphics.DrawLine(Pens.Black, currPosX, 0, currPosX, 10); earliestDate = earliestDate.AddDays(1); } the graphics don't draw. it's really weird, since this only happens when the condition statement is a date comparison. I debugged, and it does go in the loop, and the values are messed with (currPosX for example). But, no display. one more weirdness, if I add a MessageBox.Show("blabla") in the loop, the message box pops up, and graphics are drawn. what's going on here?

  • Jquery Ajax Call In For Loop Only Runs Once - Possible Issue with Timing & Exit Condition?

    Background I'm building a form that uses autocomplete against the EchoNest API. First the users picks an artist, using the Artist Suggest call. Next they select a song but the Song and/Or Artist song search doesn't provide a "wild card" search. It only returns exact matches. So based on the forums they suggest building an array of the songs and using auto complete on the array. I can only get a maximum of 100 responses at a time. I do know based on the initial response the number of songs. My Plan: Wrap the ajax call in a for loop ('runonceloop'). Amend the loop exit condition after the first response with the total number of songs. Challenge I'm having: The 'runonceloop' only completes a singe loop because or at least that's what I believe: The exit condition is satisfied before the first response [1] is received. I've tried to adjust the 'exit condition' and 'counter' such that they are set and and increased at the end of the success block. This seems to lock up my browser. Can someone provide some guidance on this situation?[2] I'd really appreciate it. I also don't think turning async off is a good idea because it locks the browser.   • How to do simple multitasked loop processing over filenames with PowerShell?

    I'm batch transcoding some 50 GB of video files on a USB hard disk which is connected to a wlan router. The drive is mapped as a network drive on my Windows 7 laptop. The speed handicap of the wlan causes some parts of the processing to become unnecessarily slow, so I would like to do the following with PowerShell: List the names of the files on the network drive to be transcoded Copy the first file to a temporary folder on my laptop Simultaneously Transcode the file in the folder Begin copying the next file from the network drive to the temporary folder After transcoding and copy have both ended, Delete the file which has been transcoded from the temporary folder Begin transcoding next file in the temporary folder Loop until all files have been processed How would I be able to do this with PowerShell? The multitasking part is an obstacle for my skill/persistence combination.

    I have a table in the database: name Opinion Tim Tim has an opinion John other random text Dan Dan's random text Al Al says something else I call this data and get it back in getRecords.lastResult To access John's opinion, I could use: getRecords.lastResult[1].opinion But that's only because I know that John is the second record (record 1), but this may change. So the right way is to search through the results to first find the record index for John, then access his opinion. My guess is I need some sort of a loop? Is there an easier way to search for John directly without a loop?

Say there is a possibility that the list can contain a loop - i.e. the final Node, instead of having a null, has a reference to one of the nodes in the list which came before it. What's the best way of writing boolean hasLoop(Node first) which would return true if the given Node is the first of a list with a loop, and false otherwise? How could you write so that it takes a finite amount of space and a reasonable amount of time?

  • Perl : how to interrupt/resume loop by user hitting a key?

    Hi all: This is for debugging purpose. I've got a for loop that generates some output to Cygwin bash's CLI. I know that I can redirect outputs to text files and use Perl or even just a normal text editor to inspect the values printed out for a particular iteration, just feel that a bit painful. What I am now thinking is, to place a special subroutine inside the for loop, so that it would be "interrupted" at the beginning of each iteration, and Perl script should only resume to run after user/programmer hits a key(the Enter Key from keyboard?) In this way I can directly inspect the values printed out during each iteration. Is there a simple way to do this, without using additional libraries/CPAN ? Many thanks to the hints/suggestions in advance.
