• Sharepoint Site Administration

  Hey, I've got a SharePoint website running on my machine (which it shows me inside the Application Pool in the Inet Manager). Now this website has a different user credentials specified under the Identity section (properties). Also when I view the w3wp.exe in the task manager it shows that the site is running as a different user. The problem is that if I change the username and password of the existing user with mine, the site stops working. How do I run it under my account credentials. Please help. Thanks

• MOSS 2007 team site page title

  Hi, I'm trying to display the page title (html title) on the default.aspx page of a custom site template. The template is based on a MOSS team site template. All that displays is the URL of the page as the page title. Can I change the code in the default.aspx and/or the sites master page to define the title myself? • Zend Framework ErrorController not working on live site?

  My site is set up pretty much as per the Zend Quickstart guide. The default ErrorController works locally using MAMP. But now I've deployed it to my live site I get a blank page and a "500 Internal Server Error" according to FireBug when I go to an action that doesnt exist. On my local server I get a 404 and a nicely formatted error page. Any ideas anyone? I dont really know where to begin looking. I'm confused :/ Thanks.

  Hello friends, I have a landing page designed as a flash movie. Please visit http://ivautoinc.com. The movie contains login button. For now when you click on this button I am redirecting to asp.net site login page. What I need is if you click on login button, the login form which is designed within flash will be shown on the same movie. The users will provide username and password. • Best Zend Framework architecture for large reporting site?

  I have a site of about 60 tabular report pages. Want to convert this to Zend. The report has two states: empty report and filled in with data report. Each report has its own set of input boxes and select drop downs to narrow down searches. You click on submit and it retrieves the data. Thats all each page does. Do I create 60 controllers with each one with default index action and getData action? All I have read online do not really describe how to architect a real site.

• My site not directing links correctly.

  I have a site at http://badassmonkeys.com/ and when i click any of the links it does not direct it to the actual page but still pulls up the link. For some reason it works perfectly on linux cpanel and actually loads the pages, but on windows in apache, or in IIS even with a rewrite mod for it, it just doesnt work. The links dont go correctly. Is it a php.ini setting? This is my htaccess file if curious, but it works perfect in linux, but not on windows.... • Is there a recommended approach to handle saving data in response to within-site navigation without

  Hello all, Preamble to scope my question: I have a web app (or site, this is an internal LAN site) that uses jQuery and AJAX extensively to dynamically load the content section of the UI in the browser. A user navigates the app using a navigation menu. Clicking an item in the navigation menu makes an AJAX call to php, and php then returns the content that is used to populate the central content section. One of the pages served back by php has a table form, set up like a spreadsheet, that the user enters values into. This table is always kept in sync with data in the database. So, when the table is created, is it populated with the relevant database data. Then when the user makes a change in a "cell", that change immediately is written back to the database so the table and database are always in sync. This approach was take to reassure users that the data they entered has been saved (long story...), and to alleviate them from having to click a save button of some kind. So, this always in sync idea is great, except that a user can enter a value in a cell, not take focus out of the cell, and then take any number of actions that would cause that last value to be lost: e.g. navigate to another section of the site via the navigation menu, log out of the app, close the browser, etc. End of preamble, on to the issue: I initially thought that wasn't a problem, because I would just track what data was "dirty" or not saved, and then in the onunload event I would do a final write to the database. Herein lies the rub: because of my clever (or not so clever, not sure) use of AJAX and dynamically loading the content section, the user never actually leaves the original url, or page, when the above actions are taken, with the exception of closing the browser. Therefore, the onunload event does not fire, and I am back to losing the last data again. My question, is there a recommended way to handle figuring out if a person is navigating away from a "section" of your app when content is dynamically loaded this way? I can come up with a solution I think, that involves globals and tracking the currently viewed page, but I thought I would check if there might be a more elegant solution out there, or a change I could make in my design, that would make this work. • Site images don't refresh after setting expired headers on .htaccess

  I have a site that uses a CSS sprite for all the images. I set the .htaccess file to set the expired headers to a future time as they recommend to improve site performance. However, when I updated the sprite image none of my browsers on two different computers seem to fetch the new image. I deleted the .htaccess serveral times but no luck. I am sure this must be easy as pie to fix but right now I am out of options. • Web SITE publishing, dynamic compilation, smoke & mirrors

  When you publish a web SITE in Visual Studio, in the dialog box that follows, you are given an option to "Allow this precompiled site to be updatable". According to MSDN, checking this option "specifies that all program code is compiled into assemblies, but that .aspx files (including single-file ASP.NET Web pages) are copied as-is to the target folder". With this option checked, you can update existing .aspx files as well as add new ones without any issue. When a page, that has either been updated or newly created, is requested, the page gets dynamically compiled at run-time and is then processed and returned to the user. If, on the other hand, you didn't check that checkbox during the publish phase, the .aspx files get compiled, along with the code-behind and App_Code files in separate assemblies. The .aspx files are then completely overwritten with a line of text that says: This is a marker file generated by the precompilation tool, and should not be deleted! You obviously can't edit an existing page in this scenario. If you were to ADD a new .aspx file to this site, you would get a .Net run-time error saying that the file hasn't been precompiled. With that background, my questions are these: Something must be able to determine that this website was published to be updatable (allow dynamic compilation) or not. If it was published as updatable, it must also be able to determine whether a file was changed or added, so it can do a dynamic compile. Who makes those determinations? IIS? ASP.NET worker process? HOW does it make those determinations? If I had the same website published in both of those scenarios, could I make a visual determination that one is updatable and the other is not? Is there some bit I can look at in the assemblies using Reflector to make that determination myself? In addition to answering those questions, what also might be helpful would be information on the process flow from when a resource is requested to when it starts being processed, not necessarily the ASP.NET Page Lifecycle, but what happens BEFORE ASP.Net worker process starts processing the page and firing off events. The dynamic compilation appears to be smoke and mirrors. Can someone demystify this for me?

• Arbitrary Form Processing with Drupal

  I am writing a module for my organization to cache XML feeds to static files to an arbitrary place on our webserver. I am new at Drupal development, and would like to know if I am approaching this the right way. Basically I: Expose a url via the menu hook, where a user can enter in a an output directory on the webserver and press the "dump" button and then have PHP go to drupal and get the feed xml. I don't need help with that functionality, because I actually have a prototype working in Python (outside of Drupal).. Provide a callback for the form where I can do my logic, using the form parameters. • Any open source hosting site for abandoned projects?

  I have some projects which I have ceased their development a long time ago but still get code access requests for. I'm currently providing zipped packages from my personal web site. I think zipped packages are far from being useful (e.g. can't read code right away, can't provide url's to individual source files, can't fork easily, lifetime is dependent on my own web page's). I want that archaic code to be present on the net regardless I keep my web page up or not. I saw the question "What's the best open source hosting site?". However, most sites request the project "to be active", Codeplex for instance. I didn't go through EULA's of all providers to see if they allow abandoned projects. Are there elephant's graveyards for old code without activity restrictions? Which one would you pick, why?

  Hey, so I am a novice programmer who has only worked with HTML, CSS, and a touch of Java a couple of years ago. I am looking to try to get a social network site up and running on Ruby on Rails and was looking at RailsSpace: Building a Social Networking Website with Ruby on Rails (Addison-Wesley Professional Ruby Series) - Paperback (July 30, 2007) by Michael Hartl. This was published in 2007, however, and the newer reviews say it is not very helpful. Does anyone know if there are any new publications out there that walk you through building a social network site while teaching you the code(rather than just using a out of the box program)? Thanks
