  • WPF / Silverlight Binding when setting DataTemplate programically

    - by Daniel
    I have my little designer tool (my program). On the left side I have TreeView and on the right site I have Accordion. When I select a node I want to dynamically build Accordion Items based on Properties from DataContext of selected node. Selecting nodes works fine, and when I use this sample code for testing it works also. XAML code: <layoutToolkit:Accordion x:Name="accPanel" SelectionMode="ZeroOrMore" SelectionSequence="Simultaneous"> <layoutToolkit:AccordionItem Header="Controller Info"> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal" DataContext="{Binding}"> <TextBlock Text="Content:" /> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Path=Name}" /> </StackPanel> </layoutToolkit:AccordionItem> </layoutToolkit:Accordion> C# code: private void treeSceneNode_SelectedItemChanged(object sender, RoutedPropertyChangedEventArgs<object> e) { if (e.NewValue != e.OldValue) { if (e.NewValue is SceneNode) { accPanel.DataContext = e.NewValue; //e.NewValue is a class that contains Name property } } } But the problem occurs when I'm trying to achive this using DateTemplate and dynamically build AccordingItem, the Binding is not working: <layoutToolkit:Accordion x:Name="accPanel" SelectionMode="ZeroOrMore" SelectionSequence="Simultaneous" /> and DataTemplate in my ResourceDictionary <DataTemplate x:Key="dtSceneNodeContent"> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal" DataContext="{Binding}"> <TextBlock Text="Content:" /> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Path=Name}" /> </StackPanel> </DataTemplate> and C# code: private void treeSceneNode_SelectedItemChanged(object sender, RoutedPropertyChangedEventArgs<object> e) { if (e.NewValue != e.OldValue) { ResourceDictionary rd = new ResourceDictionary(); rd.Source = new Uri("/SilverGL.GUI;component/SilverGLDesignerResourceDictionary.xaml", UriKind.RelativeOrAbsolute); if (e.NewValue is SceneNode) { accPanel.DataContext = e.NewValue; AccordionItem accController = new AccordionItem(); accController.Header = "Controller Info"; accController.ContentTemplate = rd["dtSceneNodeContent"] as DataTemplate; accPanel.Items.Add(accController); } else { // Other type of node } } } I really need help with this issue. Thanks for any support.

  • Binding a WPF ComboBox to a different ItemsSource within a ListBox DataTemplate

    - by tjans
I have a ListBox that contains a textbox and a combobox in its datatemplate: <ListBox Height="147" Margin="158,29,170,0" Name="PitcherListBox" VerticalAlignment="Top" ItemsSource="{Binding SomeCollectionOfObjects}" Background="Black"> <ListBox.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal"> <TextBox Text="{Binding Path=Name}" /> <ComboBox ItemsSource="{Binding LocalArrayOfIntsProperty}" /> </StackPanel> </DataTemplate> </ListBox.ItemTemplate> </ListBox> I want to bind the listbox to a collection of objects (which I've done successfully), but I want the combobox in the above datatemplate to have its itemssource set to a local property on the window (array of ints). I still want the combobox to have a two-way bind between its selected item and a property on the collection of objects... I have the following in code: PitcherListBox.DataContext = this; Basically in the end, I want the combobox within the listbox to have a different itemssource than the listbox itself. I can't seem to figure out how to change the ComboBox's ItemsSource in XAML. Can someone provide me some feedback? Thanks!

  • Adding a button to a combobox in wpf

    - by Chris McGrath
    Pretty much I have an Editable Combobox and I want to add a button to the right of the drop down button which clears the selected item. So... |TextBox |X|v| I was thinking something like... <Style...> <Setter Property="Template"> <Setter.Value> <ControlTemplate> <ControlTemplate.Resources> <Style TargetType="{x:Type TextBox}">...Add button here...</Style> </ControlTemplate.Resources> <ContentPresenter /> </ControlTemplate> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </Style>

  • WPF ListBox's scrollviewer customizable so that there is no Scrollbar, only RepeatButtons

    - by John
Hi I would like to customize the scrollbars of a listbox's scrollviewer in such a way that the scrollbar only consists of a RepeatButton for scrolling up and a Repeatbutton for scrolling down. Nothing else. There should be no scrollbar (track) between the buttons. One button should be to the left of the ItemsPanel (scroll up) and the other on the right of the ItemsPanel. Is that possible?

  • WPF Control Templating: Keeping Windows look and feel

    - by Tyler
I'm working on a control template for an inherited TextBox class. I'd like to use this template to add additional controls with the ScrollViewer. I can achieve that goal just fine, what I can't do recreate the border in such away that it matches the Windows look and feel. I have Windows Classic as my theme on XP. Textboxes are typically shown with the standard inset border style. With the XP Fischer Price theme, borders of textbox are a flat style and light blue. Is there any way of specifying something like this in the template? Ideally it would use the theme default (grey inset for Classic, flat and light blue for fischer price theme).

  • WPF: KeyboardNavigationMode.Contained doesn't work to suppress focus wrap

    - by codymanix
I want to navigate in my window with the arrow key. It works so far but if I reach the end of my window, focus wraps to the first main menu item. But I want that focus stops at the last control in my window. private void Window_PreviewKeyDown(object sender, KeyEventArgs e) { if (e.Key == Key.Down) { elem.MoveFocus(FocusNavigationDirection.Next); } } "elem" is indirect child control of "stackPanel". MoveFocus always returns true and I already tried: KeyboardNavigation.SetTabNavigation(stackPanel, KeyboardNavigationMode.Contained); KeyboardNavigation.SetDirectionalNavigation(stackPanel,KeyboardNavigationMode.Contained); KeyboardNavigation.SetControlTabNavigation(stackPanel, KeyboardNavigationMode.Contained); Nothing helped.

  • wpf DependencyProperty Not accepting default value for short

    - by biju
    Hi, I was trying to use tis depencency property in my code but it gives me error says that Default value type does not match type of property 'MyProperty'.But short should accept 0 as default value.Ans also if i try to give null as default value it works..even if its a non nullabel type.How come this happens.. public short MyProperty { get { return (short)GetValue(MyPropertyProperty); } set { SetValue(MyPropertyProperty, value); } } // Using a DependencyProperty as the backing store for MyProperty. This enables animation, styling, binding, etc... public static readonly DependencyProperty MyPropertyProperty = DependencyProperty.Register("MyProperty", typeof(short), typeof(Window2), new UIPropertyMetadata(0));

Here is peace of the XAML code from my page: <ComboBox Grid.Row="2" Grid.Column="1" Name="Player2" MinWidth="50" ItemsSource="{Binding PlayersTest}" DisplayMemberPath="ShortName"> custom object is binded to the page data context: page.DataContext = new SquadViewModel(); Here is part the source code of 'SquadViewModel' class: public class SquadViewModel { public SquadViewModel() { PlayersTest = new ObservableCollection<SostavPlayerData>(); PlayersTest.Add(new SostavPlayerData { ShortName = "A. Sereda", }); PlayersTest.Add(new SostavPlayerData { ShortName = "D. Sereda", }); } public readonly ObservableCollection<SostavPlayerData> PlayersTest; public string TestText { get { return "Binding works perfectly!"; } } } As a result ComboBox should display a list of objects, but it is empty. • disable event-bubbling c# wpf

    - by Ruben
Hi, I'm having the following problem: When I got two labels into each other: <Label x:Name="First" MouseUp="Label_MouseUp"> <Label x:Name="Second" MouseUp="Label_MouseUp_1">This is a label into another label</Label> </Label> And the following code: private void Label_MouseUp(object sender, MouseButtonEventArgs e) { Console.WriteLine("Do NOT show me"); } private void Label_MouseUp_1(object sender, MouseButtonEventArgs e) { Console.WriteLine("Show me"); } When i click "Second", I want it to trigger only "Label_MouseUp_1". But in my console i get: Show me Do NOT show me Is there a way to turn off the bubbling events? (also, "First" has to be clickable, so removing the event there doesn't solve the problem) Thnx

  • WPF ComboBox in Grid Issue

    - by Nathan
    I am trying to put a series of comboboxes in a grid and then I bind them to a list. For some reason unknown to me when I click the open button on the combobox nothing happens. If I move a comobobox outside the grid it opens just fine. Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong here. It has to be something stupid because I've used comoboxes before just fine. Here is my xaml: <Grid> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition Height="*" /> <RowDefinition Height="*" /> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <GroupBox Header="Download Critera" Margin="70,30" Name="groupBox1" Grid.RowSpan="2"> <Grid Height="Auto" Name="grid1" Width="Auto" Margin="0" IsHitTestVisible="False"> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition /> <RowDefinition /> <RowDefinition /> <RowDefinition /> <RowDefinition /> <RowDefinition /> <RowDefinition /> <RowDefinition /> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="*" /> <ColumnDefinition Width="*" /> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <TextBlock Grid.Row="1" Margin="10,5,5,5" Name="textBlock1" Text="A:" Foreground="Black" VerticalAlignment="Center" FontSize="14" FontWeight="Bold" /> <TextBlock Grid.Row="2" Margin="10,5,5,5" Name="textBlock2" Text="B:" Foreground="Black" VerticalAlignment="Center" FontWeight="Bold" /> <TextBlock Grid.Row="3" Margin="10,5,5,5" Name="textBlock3" Text="C:" Foreground="Black" VerticalAlignment="Center" FontWeight="Bold" /> <TextBlock Grid.Row="4" Margin="10,5,5,5" Name="textBlock4" Foreground="Black" Text="D:" VerticalAlignment="Center" FontWeight="Bold" /> <TextBlock Grid.Row="5" Margin="10,5,5,5" Name="textBlock5" Text="E:" Foreground="Black" TextAlignment="Left" VerticalAlignment="Center" FontWeight="Bold" /> <ComboBox x:Name="cb1" Grid.Column="1" Grid.Row="1" Margin="5" MaxDropDownHeight="100" ItemsSource="{Binding Projects}"/> <ComboBox x:Name="cb2" Grid.Column="1" Grid.Row="2" Margin="5" MaxDropDownHeight="100" ItemsSource="{Binding Projects}"/> <ComboBox x:Name="cb3" Grid.Column="1" Grid.Row="3" Margin="5" MaxDropDownHeight="100" ItemsSource="{Binding Projects}"/> <ComboBox x:Name="cb4" Grid.Column="1" Grid.Row="4" Margin="5" MaxDropDownHeight="100" ItemsSource="{Binding Projects}"/> <ComboBox x:Name="cb5" Grid.Column="1" Grid.Row="5" Margin="5" MaxDropDownHeight="100" ItemsSource="{Binding Projects}"/> </Grid> </GroupBox> </Grid>

  • WPF Animation Duration

    - by Allen Ho
I have a storyboard like the following Duration="0:0:1" Completed="DeviceExplorer_Completed" The animation for some reason does not appear to be working linearly. If I change the duration to something like Duration="0:0:0.8" and assign the stroyboard to a MouseEnter event of a button, the animation moves but does not complete for some reason, I move my mouse over the button a few times before it enetually completes... Any ideas why?

  • WPF: When is a WrapPanel full.

    - by rathkopf
I'm using a WrapPanel to display variable height items in columns. The wrappanel has a constrained size. Is there an way to determine when the WrapPanel is 'full'? I will then page to another panel with an animation. I've looked at the ArrangeOverride of the items that are the panels children, but they always seem to be getting all the space they want. I need a way to determine when they begin getting clipped.

  • Wpf SelectedItem wont work for a Combobox in a ListView

    - by ChristianRo
Hi there, I´ve got a problem with a Combobox in a ListView. I´ve got a class called "Substrate". This class contains an object of a class called "SubstrateType". I want to show the objects of the class "Substrate" in a Listview. Each property of the "Substrate" is presented in the columns of the Listview. For the different "SubstrateType" I want to use a combobox. In the XAML I tried it like this: <ComboBox Name="CBType" ItemsSource="{Binding ElementName=SettingsSubstrate, Path=TypeList}" SelectedItem="{Binding Path=Substrate.SubstrateType}" DisplayMemberPath="Description"/> In the code-behind I got two ObservableCollections. One for all Substrates and one for all possible SubstrateTypes. The combobox displays all SubstrateTypes if you click on it. But the combobox has no selecteditem if you dont select one. http://i44.tinypic.com/2eakxav.png Thanks in advance.

  • WPF - Adding ContentControl to Custom Canvas

    - by Alp Hancioglu
I have a custom DrawingCanvas which is inherited from Canvas. When I add a ContentControl to DrawingCanvas with the following code nothing shows up. GraphicsRectangle rect = new GraphicsRectangle(0, 0, 200, 200, 5, Colors.Blue); DrawingContainer host = new DrawingContainer(rect); ContentControl control = new ContentControl(); control.Width = 200; control.Height = 200; DrawingCanvas.SetLeft(control, 100); DrawingCanvas.SetTop(control, 100); control.Style = Application.Current.Resources["DesignerItemStyle"] as Style; control.Content = host; drawingCanvas.Children.Add(control); GraphicsRectangle is a DrawingVisual and the constructor above draws a Rect with (0,0) top left point and length of 200 to the drawingContext of GraphicsRectangle. DrawingContainer is a FrameworkElement and it has one child, which is rect above, given with constructor. DrawingContainer implements GetVisualChild and VisualChildrenCount override methods. At last, Content property of ContentControl is set to the DrawingContainer to be able to show the DrawingVisual's content. When I add the created ContentControl to a regular Canvas, control is showed correctly. I guess the reason is that DrawingCanvas doesn't implement ArrangeOverride method. It only implements MeasureOverride method. Also DrawingContainer doesn't implement Measure and Arrange override methods. Any ideas?

  • Implementing a Property Inspector/Editor in WPF

    - by Schneider
So far my plan is to have an event "Item selected" which the property inspector listens to. The actual property inspector is just a ContentControl. When the object is selected the content property is set and the appropriate DataTemplate for editing the object is loaded. In general I am trying to do this "MVVM" style. I guess you could use reflection instead of templating but I only have a handful of types so far. Has anyone implemented something similar? Can you offer any advice or source code?

  • Fill WPF listbox with string array

    - by Archie
Instead of adding each item one by one to the ListBox destinationList from the string array m_List like this: foreach (object name in m_List) { destinationList.Items.Add((string)name); } Is there any better way I can do it? I don't want to bind the data to the destinationList since I want to delete some entries from the ListBox later on.

  • Is WPF Decorator class useful?

    - by darja
I need to create control to draw border around its child. So, I have created class and derived it from Decorator: class RoundedBoxDecorator : Decorator { protected override Size ArrangeOverride(Size arrangeSize) { //some source } protected override void OnRender(DrawingContext dc) { //some source } } It works fine, but I have some doubts about using Decorator as ancestor. I have found in MSDN that there are no special methods or properties in it, only derived from its ancestors (UIElement or FrameworkElement). ArrangeOverride and OnRender are also derived. So, what for Decorator class was designed and does it makes sense to use it? Or I can derive from FrameworkElement?

  • wpf manually generate TreeViewItem container

    - by viky
I am creating a TreeView at runtime. It has several nodes(TreeViewItem), each one having a name. Initially it is collapsed. A separate comboBox displays Names of all TreeViewItem. I have to highlight a TreeViewItem based on the Name selected. I am using a recursive function and gets the TreeViewItem container like this: if (parent.ItemContainerGenerator.Status != GeneratorStatus.ContainersGenerated) continue; TreeViewItem container = parent.ItemContainerGenerator.ContainerFromItem(child).As<TreeViewItem>(); but it is parent.ItemContainerGenerator.Status = GeneratorStatus.NotStarted for all the collapsed items. How can I generate containers for them manually(Without expanding them)?

  • Enable/Disable WPF buttons depending on the number of clicks

    - by eibhrum
I have two buttons 'btnPrev' and 'btnNext' What I want to do is to be able to determine the number of clicks of the button so that I could enable and disable them. The process is almost similar to 'paging' method. Initial state: btnPrev - disabled, btnNext - enabled 1st Click (btnNext): btnPrev - enabled, btnNext - enabled 2nd Click (btnNext): btnPrev - enabled, btnNext - enabled 3rd Click (btnNext): btnPrev - enabled, btnNext - disabled the idea is almost the same vice-versa (for btnPrev).
