• Simple problem with mod_rewrite in the Fat Free Framework

  I am trying to setup and learn the Fat Free Framework for PHP. http://fatfree.sourceforge.net/ It's is fairly simple to setup and I am running it on my machine using MAMP. I was able to get the 'hello world' example running just fin: require_once 'path/to/F3.php'; F3::route('GET /','home'); function home() { echo 'Hello, world!'; } F3::run(); But when I try to add in the second part, which has two routes: require_once 'F3/F3.php'; F3::route('GET /','home'); function home() { echo 'Hello, world!'; } F3::route('GET /about','about'); function about() { echo 'About Us.'; } F3::run(); I get a 404 error if I try the second URL: /about Not sure why one of the mod_rewrite commands would be working and not the other. • JavaScript doesn't parse when mod-rewrited through a PHP file?

  If I do the following (this is the actual/direct path to the JavaScript file): <script href="http://localhost/tpl/blue/js/functions.js" type="text/javascript"></script> It works fine, and the JavaScript parses - as its meant too. However I'm wanting to shorten the path to the JavaScript file (aswell as do some caching) which is why I'm rewriting all JavaScript files via .htaccess to cache.php (which handles the caching). The .htaccess contains the following: <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteRule ^js/(.+?\.js)$ cache.php?file=$1 [NC] </IfModule> cache.php contains the following PHP code: <?php if (extension_loaded('zlib')) { ob_start('ob_gzhandler'); } $file = basename($_GET['file']); if (file_exists("tpl/blue/js/".$file)) { header("Content-Type: application/javascript"); header('Cache-Control: must-revalidate'); header('Expires: ' . gmdate('D, d M Y H:i:s', time() + 3600) . (if I call the functions which are within functions.js later on in the page they don't work) - so theirs a problem either with cache.php or the rewrite rule? (because the file by itself works fine). If I access the rewrited file- http://localhost/js/functions.js directly it prints the JavaScript code, as any JavaScript file would - so I'm confused as to what I'm doing wrong... All help is appreciated! :)

• cannot get FilesMatch and mod_rewrite working together

  Hello, I'm having a little difficulty with my .htaccess when combining a password protection on a file and a mod_rewrite: If I only have this as my .htaccess <FilesMatch "manage.php"> AuthName "Member Only" AuthType Basic AuthUserFile /home/myuser/.htpasswd require valid-user </FilesMatch> It password protects manage.php fine. If I have this as my .htaccess RewriteEngine on RewriteCond $1 !^(index\.php|manage\.php|robots\.txt) RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php/$1 [L,QSA] It works as expected: robots.txt, index.php and manage.php are left alone and are called as normal, everything else is redirected to index.php/$1 HOWEVER, If I combine them then when I visit manage.php it gets redirected as index.php/$1, i.e. the FilesMatch is causing the entry in rewritecond to be ignored. If I actually enter a password in the original test and get to the file, it works in this last test. So I guess something is up with the rewrite and the file match. i.e. entering this causes .\manage.php to be called as .\index.php\manage.php <FilesMatch "manage.php"> AuthName "Member Only" AuthType Basic AuthUserFile /home/myuser/.htpasswd require valid-user </FilesMatch> RewriteEngine on RewriteCond $1 !^(index\.php|manage\.php|robots\.txt) RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php/$1 [L,QSA] Thanks for any help :)

• Removing index.php on MAMP

  this questions was asked before and has had many responses. The problem is nothing i tried worked. Background: i use MAMP and all of my web project are located under WebProjects which I relocated out of its standard location within the MAMP folder in Applications. so my structure is something like this: Documents/WebProjects/GreatSite/Application/... What happened so far: my understanding is that removing index.php can be done either through httpd.conf or .htaccess. anytime i touched httpd.conf, Apache refuses to start. I tried various edits to .htaccess including the one in codeigniter.com/wiki/mod-rewrite and the last one from a post on SO which is this: RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /index.php?/$1 [L] this give me the following error when i access the site: An Error Was Encountered Unable to determine what should be displayed. A default route has not been specified in the routing file. I have updated config.php to have $config['index_page'] = ''; and i have placed the .htaccess file in the GreatSite folder. One other note, my CI system folder is up a level from GreatSite. Not sure if this has any impact. also, apache has the module loaded. so, I'm hoping someone has successfully done this on MAMP and could provide direction specifically around the content of their .htaccess (or even httpd.conf), it's location and any other mods they had to make to get this going. thanks

  Deploying ASP.NET 3.5 Web Service to local IIS (on Windows 7) I get this error message... The account 'ASPNET' does not appear to be valid. The account was obtained from this location: 'AspNetWorkerProcessIdentityName'. Some or all identity references could not be translated. Publish failed to deploy. I've tried making the site use a specific Application Pool, and the Network Service user (which also has full rights to the deployment folder) but to no avail.

• Deploy ASP.NET MVC 2 to IIS 7.5 targeting .NET 3.5

  I created an ASP.NET MVC 2 application in Visual Studio 2008. I set the release build to go through the ASP.NET compiler to precompile all the views, minify Javascript and CSS, clean up the web.config, etc. Since the production deployment is going to an IIS6 server, I set up my pseudo-production deployment on my Windows 7 machine to have the application pool run in classic mode targeting the 2.0 runtime. I set up the extensionless handler in the web.config that's necessary and everything worked great. The problem came when I upgraded the solution to Visual Studio 2010. I'm still targeting the 3.5 framework, but now I'm using MSBuild 4.0 since that's what Visual Studio 2010 uses. Everything still compiles correctly because it runs fine under Cassini, but when I deploy it to the same location (same application pool, identity, etc) it now behaves differently. I still have the extensionless handler in the web.config, but now when I navigate to the root of the application it does directory browsing, and any routes that it had previously handled now come back as 404 errors being handled by the StaticFile handler in IIS. I'm at a loss for what changed and is causing the break. I have looked at this question, but I have already verified that all the prerequisite components are installed.

  I am trying to install a SSL certificate on IIS 7. I have download a free trial certificate. After that, this is the steps what I do: Click the Start menu and select Administrative Tools. Start Internet Services Manager and click the Server Name. In the center section, double click on the Server Certificates button in the Security section. From the Actions menu click Complete Certificate Request. Enter the location for the certificate file. Enter a Friendly name. Click OK. Under Sites select the site to be secured with the SSL certificate. From the Actions menu, click Bindings.This will open the Site Bindings window. In the Site Bindings window, click Add. This opens the Add Site Binding window. Select https from the Type menu. Set the port to 443. Select the SSL Certificate you just installed from the SSL Certificate menu. Click OK. This is the step where I get the message: One or more intermediate certificates in the certificate chain are missing. To resolve this issue, make sure that all of intermediate certificates are installed. For more information, see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/954755 After this, when I access the web site on its first page, I get this message: There is a problem with this website's security certificate. What am I doing wrong?

  I have a hybrid asp.net web forms / mvc application that I recently converted to .net 4 with mvc2. I have set-up that application to run on IIS 7.5 (on Windows 7) and the web forms part of the site is running okay but the MVC part is not. Whenever I try and access a page that needs to go through the routing engine I get HTTP Error 404.0 - Not Found The resource you are looking for has been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Module IIS Web Core Notification MapRequestHandler Handler StaticFile Error Code 0x80070002 I'm debugging this web site through VS2010 (so I've set-it-up to use IIS instead of Cassini) and when I put a break point in the Application_Start function it is never hit so the routes are never registered. When I put a break point in the Page_Load function in one of the aspx page code-behinds it gets hit. So it seems that the problem is that the route is not being registered. What am I missing?

• Error Running MVC2 application in IIS on .NET 4.0

  I recently installed the RTM version of 4.0. I now receive an error when running MVC2 websites in a .net 4 app pool. The error is "User is not available in this context." All works fine on .net 2.0 app pools or if I run the app within the VS10 web server. The error only occurs in IIS on .net 4.0. To verify that it was not something specific to my app, I created a new MVC test app from the VS template and even that app encounters this error. My next step is to reinstall .net 4.0. Has anyone else seen this error?

  Hi all, I created an MSI InstalScript Project where i deploy a web based (ASP.NET) precompiled project copying the files during installation in the \inetpub\wwwroot\projectnamefolder, creating an AppPool and the virtual dir of course in the IIS. The setup works great in windows XP Pro (SP3 i used). But soon as i try in Windows 7 (tried Ultimate and Home Premium) i get a -1603 Fatal Error during installation...Windows Installer Help (MSI.chm) or MSDN for more info.... Dying to fix this... [Edit] I think error occurs when trying to create the Application in the IIS. [FIXED] Enable 32 Bit Apllications needs to be true when creating Application Pools through InstallShield in a 64 bit OS!

• error_log php.ini setting has no effect on IIS 7/FastCGI/Win7/PHP5.3.2

  I have a very strange problem with PHP 5.3.2 running on IIS 7 on a fresh Windows 7 installation. Changing the error_log configuration options in the php.ini does not seem to have any effect. I cannot change the option to point to anything other than the default location. Here is a portion of my php.ini file and the output from phpinfo() before and after changing some configuration options. Everything else seems to have taken effect except the error_log option. I have noticed that the fastcgi.logging option also appears to be stuck. A previous setup with PHP 5.3.2 on Win XP and IIS 5.5 exhibited no problems.   Summary: One of our web applications requires write access to C:\Windows\Temp. However, no matter how much I weaken the NTFS permission, procmon shows ACCESS DENIED. Background (which might or might not be relevant for the problem): We are using OLEDB to access an MS Access database (which is located outside of C:\Windows\Temp). Unfortunately, this OLEDB driver requires write access to the user profile's TEMP directory (which happens to be C:\Windows\Temp when running under IIS 7.5), otherwise the dreaded "Unspecified Error" OleDbException is thrown. See KB 926939 for details. I followed the steps in the KB article, but it doesn't help. Details: This is the output of icacls C:\Windows\Temp. For debugging purposes I gave full permissions to Everyone.   My website is running on Asp.net v4 , IIS 7 , Windows server 2008. My cpu is running on 20-30% and the site is responding quickly. When initializing, a collection is instantiated that implements an interface I've defined. If I leave the instantiation, w3wp crashes. If I modify the interface, w3wp still crashes. I've tried every variation I could come up with on the theme of keeping the instantiation but doing everything else differently, but w3wp still crashes. My biggest issue here is that I have absolutely no idea why w3wp is crashing. It's not a StackOverflowException or anything concrete like that, all I get is the unintelligent junk cited above. I've tried to use DebugDiag and IISState to debug the w3wp process, but DebugDiag is only available for post-dump analysis in x64 (I'm running on Windows 7 x64, so the w3wp process is thus 64 bit) and IISStat says the following when I try to run it: D:\Programs\iisstate>IISState.exe -p 9204 -d Symbol search path is: SRV*D:\Programs\iisstate\symbols*http://msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbols IISState is limited to processes associated with IIS. If you require a generic debugger, please use WinDBG or CDB. They are available for download from http://www.microsoft.com/ddk/debugging. This error may also occur if a debugger is already attached to the process being checked. Incorrect Process Attachment I've double-checked 10 times that the process ID of my w3wp process is correct. I'm suspecting that IISState too only can debug x86 processes. Setting a breakpoint anywhere in the application does absolutely nothing. The break point isn't hit and w3wp crashes as soon as the request comes through to IIS from the browser. Starting the application with F5 in Visual Studio 2010 or starting another application to get the w3wp process up and running and then attaching the VS2010 debugger to it and then visiting the faulting application doesn't help. I've also tried to add an HTTP module as described in KB-911816 as well as add this to my web.config file: <configuration> <runtime> <legacyUnhandledExceptionPolicy enabled="true" /> </runtime> </configuration> Needless to say, it makes absolutely no difference. So I'm left with no way to debug the w3wp process, no way to extract any information from it and complete garbage dumped in my event log. If anybody has any idea on how to debug this problem, please let me know! Update My collection was initialized based on RouteTable.Routes which might have thrown an exception (perhaps by not being initialized itself yet in such an early stage of the ASP.NET lifecycle). Postponing the communication with RouteTable.Routes until a later stage solved the problem. While I don't really need an answer to this question anymore, I still find it so obscure that I'll leave it for anyone to comment on and answer, because I found no existing posts on this problem anywhere, so it might be of good reference in the future.

  I am having an impossible time getting asp.net 4.0 to work in any fashion at all. In fact, I completely wiped my server, reinstalled with Server 2008 R2 Standard (running on a VMWare ESXi box, not that it should matter), and cannot even get a test .aspx page to work. Here is exactly what I did: Installed 2008 R2 Standard Activated windows and enabled Remote Desktop Installed the Web Server Role with the necessary role services(common http, asp.net, logging, tracing, management service and FTP) Enabled the management service Installed .Net Framework 4.0 via web executable Added FTP publishing to the default web site Switched default web site application pool to asp.net 4.0 (integrated) Added a 'test.aspx' file to the inetpub\wwwroot folder (contents below) Opened a browser to http://localhost/test.aspx and received a 500.0 error (also below) What am I missing? I haven't touched IIS in a while (3+ years), so it could be something stupid/trvial. Please point it out, call me a noob; my ego can take it.   I have a .NET 3.5 based web service running at http://localhost/serivce.svc/. Then I have an ASP.NET application running at http://localhost/myApp. In Application_Load my application reads some XML configuration from the web service. That works fine on my machine, but: On Windows Vista with IIS 7 the request to the web services fails. The web service can be accessed via the browser without any problem. I configured the app pool of my application to run as admin. I added the admin to the IIS_USRS group, but it still cannot access the web service. impersonate=true/false seems not to make a difference.

• MSDeploy migrate only configuration from IIS 6 to 7

  We have 19 websites, many of which have many "virtual" directories, on a IIS 6 server. I am trying to migrate the whole thing over to IIS 7 on a different server. Following the instructions on http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/427/migrate-a-web-site-from-iis-60-to-iis-70/ I attempted the following command line execution: msdeploy -verb:sync -source:metakey=lm/w3svc -dest:package=D:\Temp\Sites.zip > D:\temp\WebDeployPackage.log It appeared to be working until I got a "There is not enough space on the disk" error. The D drive, which you'll notice is the target location for the package and the log has plenty of space (all the resources for the websites are about 5gb, the drive has 200+). Though the C drive is of limited size (6Gb), so that might be the problem. Anyway, I figure the best bet was to try and do a migration of settings/configurations only, not the actual resources. We can easily deploy the resources to the new server with our NAnt build scripts, so that's not an issue. Getting all the correct configurations moved over, however, would be challenging to do manually. So, is there a way to export/package only the configuration/options of the IIS 6 server using msdeploy (or any other tool?)

  I'm using ASP.NET MVC to develop a web application, deploying to IIS 7. I've hidden my Files and Views directories with web.config files in those directories (they just return a normal 404). However, I haven't been able to get the web.config method to work in hiding my bin directory. When I access www.mywebapp.com/bin, I instead get a too-revealing page with this message: HTTP Error 404.8 - Not Found The request filtering module is configured to deny a path in the URL that contains a hiddenSegment section. The page reveals part of my directory structure. I just want it to return my 404 page like the Files and Views directories do. How can I get this behavior?
