To empty a div and replace it with an image I am using:
$(this).html('');
$('<img/>', {
src: 'blah.gif'
}).appendTo(this);
Is there a better way to do this?
As more presentational html properties get deprecated the natural response for me was to make single property CSS classes such as .text-align-left{text-align:left}. My question is, is this preferred versus inline styles?
Stackoverflow actually uses quite a bit of inline styles.
PS: I know this isn't really a coding question and it is likely to incite debate but stackoverflow is the largest stack exchange for code and this question does have some use for future individuals.
Hello,
I need to redirect myhomepage.com/ to myhomepage.com/sub/
When I read the guide at apache.org/docs/1.3/misc/rewriteguide.html I have no clue what they are talking about. Hence I decided to friendly ask one of the experts here. I guess it takes just some seconds to figure that rule out.
Thanks, Carin.
Hello,
I have been curious about dynamically create class at runtime in C# and stumbled across this article. http://olondono.blogspot.com/2008/02/creating-code-at-runtime.html I am curious to hear some pros and cons regarding construction of a class at runtime.
Any opinions?
Hi,
I like to display some (X)HTML content in a Qt application using QtWebKit.
The content should be generated from XML documents via XSLT.
As I am new to Qt, my questions are as follows:
1) Can QtWebKit display XML documents with the xml-stylesheet element set?
2) Can Qt apply XSLT to an XML document and return the result as a string or write it to a file?
I'm trying to replicate the browser post parameters on http://www.ebayclassifieds.com/m/PostAd?scrid=3465450-2253858851033189948 but for some reasons I can't find where the values for 2 of them are comming from . The parameters are
btn-previwe-ad.x and
btn-previwe-ad.y
but I can't find such as parameters in the html source itself or any hidden value.
Are there any protocols, systems, etc. experimental or otherwise designed for allowing normal (as normal as can be) network operations (E-mail, DNS, HTML, etc.) over very high latency links? I'm thinking of minutes to an hour, or maybe two. Think light speed lag at a solar system scale.
Hi
Can anyone suggest the ways we can choose to reduce the size of the rendered html
or response to reduce page weight in .net so that the client can experience a faster loading of the UI
i've heard of JSON and GZip
but don't have much idea about how to use it or even better ways are there
If I do something like this in ColdFusion:
<cfoutput>foo="#foo()#"</cfoutput>
The resulting HTML has a space in front of it:
foo=" BAR"
However, if it is not a function call it works fine, i.e.:
<cfset fooOut=foo() />
<cfoutput>foo="#fooOut#"</cfoutput>
Gives this output:
foo="BAR"
Where is this extra space coming from and is there anything I can do about it?

Hi All,
I want to create a button in html. When i click, it should go inner side and if i click it again it should come up. How to do it in CSS?
THanks
I hope this isn't too difficult, obviously you can call HTML tags such as fieldset, label and legends and also textboxes. However how does one call an asp:textbox, i have tried just textbox, asp:textbox, input.textbox but nothing seems to work. This is something that should be really straight forward to do and I can't waste any more time figuring it out.
Thanks.
My code is inside a plugin's init function and I'm trying to file_get_contents() on a file inside my plugin folder..
I'm using...
file_get_contents(ABSPATH.'/wp-content/plugins/myplugin/myfile');
Not sure why can't I just use...
file_get_contents('myfile.html');
I'm replacing a website that was previously HTML only.
I put a GridView on the French and the English page and I'm getting 2 fields: A date and a currency.
For the date, I need to transform it into a long date format. The English part isn't very hard, but when I get to the French page, I can't transform it into a long date format with French words (i.e.:Mardi instead of Tuesday).
Is there any way to format the string with French date words instead?
could anyone point me to some examples on how to achieve Tableview with section and Index on Section. Similar to one it's in iPhone = http://www.iphonesdkarticles.com/2009/01/uitableview-indexed-table-view.html
I need to show a webpage (a complex page with script and stuff, no static html) in a frame or something. It's for a desktop application, I'm using python 2.6 + wxPython 2.8.10.1. I need to catch some events too (mostly about changing page). I've found some samples using the webview module in a gtk application, but I couldn't have it works on wx.
How do you send the content of a website form to an email address without disclosing the email address to the user.
Thanks!
PS: If at all possible, I would like this to be in HTML.
Anyone know of a more permissive license (MIT / public domain) version of this:
http://library.gnome.org/devel/glibmm/unstable/classGlib_1_1ustring.html
('drop-in' replacement for std::string thats UTF-8 aware)
Lightweight, does everything I need and even more (doubt I'll use the UTF-XX conversions even)
I really don't want to be carrying ICU around with me.
I've got a view like the following:
from django.views.decorators.http import condition
def stream():
for i in range(0, 40):
yield " " * 1024
yield "%d" % i
time.sleep(1)
@condition(etag_func=None):
def view(request):
return HttpResponse(stream(), mimetype='text/html')
However, it definitely doesn't seem to be streaming at all. All the data is dumped at once, at the end, after about 40 seconds. How can I get it to flush correctly?

I'd like to create a simple webservice in scala similar to:
http://www.artima.com/lejava/articles/threeminutes.html
Is there an easy way to do this?
EDIT: I found a tutorial for lift http://wiki.liftweb.net/index.php/HowTo_do_Web_Services. However this seems to be way too complicated for what I'm looking for.
Need to replace a domain name on all the links on the page that are not images or pdf files.
This would be a full html page received through a proxy service.
In IE, The selector for multiple inputs is not working whereas in firefox it is.
Below is the html.
<td><label for="contactInfo.shippingAddress.streetAddress1" class="mandatoryText">Address Line 1<em class="reqdfields"></td>
City*
State
Zip / Postal Code
Country
and below is jquery used -
$("*[id^='contactInfo\\.shippingAddress']").val("");
Any thoughts as to where the problem might be..
Hi,So, members of my website can post topics, replies, comments, edit them and so on. I always use htmlspecialchars and addslashes for html inputs to protect my site against XSS and SQL injection attacks. Is it enough or is there something more I miss?
Thanks.
