• C++ Windows IOCP - HTTP POST data missing

  I have written a very simple IOCP HTTP server that works for the GET verb, but not POST. I create a socket and a listen thread in which accept() is waiting for a connection. When a client connects I call ioctlsocket() to unblock the socket then I associate the socket with IOCP and finally call WSARecv() to read the data. Some data is indeed read and when that has happened, IOCP wakes up a worker thread via GetQueuedCompletionStatus() and I recover the request data. I only ever get the request header when I POST from any browser. Any suggestions as to why? I am assuming the IOCP completes when ALL the data has arrived from TCP?

• How to improve workflow for creating a Lua-based Wireshark dissector

  I've finally created a Dissector for my UDP protocol in Lua for Wireshark, but the work flow is just horrendous. It consists of editing my custom Lua file in my editor, then double-clicking my example capture file to launch Wireshark to see the changes. If there was an error, Wireshark informs me via dialogs or a red line in the Tree analysis sub-pane. I then re-edit my custom Lua file and then close that Wireshark instance, then double-click my example capture file again. It's like compiling a C file and only seeing one compiler error at a time. Is there a better (faster) way of looking at my changes, without having to restart Wireshark all the time? At the time, I was using Wireshark 1.2.9 for Windows with Lua enabled.

  i have an RoR application Log, which similar to the book store app, my logs_controller has all default action: index, show, update, create, delete.. now i need to add new action :toCSV, i defined it in logs_controller, and add new route in the config/routes as: map.resources :logs, :collection = { :toCSV = :get }. from irb, i checked the routes and see the new routes added already: rs = ActionController::Routing::Routes puts rs.routes GET /logs/toCSV(.:format)? {:controller="logs", :action="toCSV"} then ran ‘rake routes’ command in shell, it returned: toCSV_logs GET /logs/toCSV(.:format) {:controller="logs", :action="toCSV"} everything seems working. finally in my views code, i added the following: link_to 'Export to CSV', toCSV_logs_path when access it in the brower 'http://localhost:3000/logs/toCSV', it complained: Couldn't find Log with ID=toCSV i checked in script/server, and saw this one: ActiveRecord::RecordNotFound (Couldn't find Log with ID=toCSV): app/controllers/logs_controller.rb:290:in `show' seems when i click that link, it direct it to the action 'show' instead of 'toCSV', thus it took 'toCSV' as an id...anyone know why would this happen? and to fix it? • How can I expose a service bus by a wcf service to be consumed by a silverlight client

  In a Silverlight application, instead of consuming and writing (wcf) wrappers around messages that finally get sent to the bus, I want to send use my message bus as directly as possible. My idea was to expose the service bus directly as a wcf service, or, in other terms, I want to bidirectionally pub/sub over the wire. Has this been done already? Is bi-directionality doable at all? After all, we are (are we restricted to that?) in the http domain? Lots of questions. Some head start would be greatly appreciated! I am in .NET land, with using Rhino Service Bus, but the pattern should apply to different platforms.

• apache mod_rewrite regex problem with multiple parameter

  Regular expressions have always been my pet peeves. Every time I think that I finally got it I have a new problem ! I want to catch url like this : http://www.mydomain.com/boutique/blabla-1/bla-bla2/99/104 http://www.mydomain.com/boutique/blabla1/99 and eventually : http://www.mydomain.com/boutique/blabla-1/bla-bla2/product1/99/104/55/ after a lot of tries and errors I came up with this which seems to work with http://www.gskinner.com/RegExr/ but not in apache ^.*/boutique/([a-zA-Z-]*)(/?[a-zA-Z-]*)/?([0-9]*)/?([0-9]*)/?$ boutique.php?c1=$3&c2=$4 (I was only working with the first two url so far) MY apache rewrite log debug files are helpless : pass through /Users/iko/Sites/mysite/boutique.php I'm only interrested in getting the ids. • Can someone describe some DI terms to me?

  I'm in the process of writing a DI framework for PHP 5, and I've been trying to find the 'official' definitions of some words in relation to dependency injection. Some of these words are 'context' and 'lifecycle'. And also, what would I call the object that gets created/injected? Finally, what is the difference between components and services, and which term (if either) should I call the objects that can be injected? I've read Martin Fowler's article and looked through other DI frameworks (Phemto, Spring, Google Guice, Xyster, etc.), but I want to know what you think. Thanks!

  when I try to sort the following text file 'input': test1 3 test3 2 test 4 with the command sort input the output is exactly the input. Here is the output of od -bc input : 0000000 164 145 163 164 061 011 063 012 164 145 163 164 063 011 062 012 t e s t 1 \t 3 \n t e s t 3 \t 2 \n 0000020 164 145 163 164 011 064 012 t e s t \t 4 \n 0000027 It's just a tab separated file with two columns. When I do sort -k 2 The output changes to test3 2 test1 3 test 4 which is what I would expect. But if I do sort -k 1 nothing changes with respect to the input, whereas I would expect 'test' to sort before 'test1'. Finally, if I do cat input | cut -f 1 | sort I get test test1 test3 as expected. Is there a logical explanation for this? What exactly is sort supposed to do by default, something like: sort -k 1 ? My version of sort: sort (GNU coreutils) 7.4

• Can I bind multiple forms to a single model using the default model binder?

  I have a complex page with several forms on it. The page is divided into sections, and each section has a continue button on it. The page is bound to a pageViewModel, each section addresses a different set of properties on the model. The continue button makes an ajax call to the controller, and the model binder binds it appropriately to the appropriate sections of the model. The section is refreshed appropriately. Finally, I would like to have a save button at the bottom of the page that takes all the forms, and binds all of the forms to the model. The model, at this point has all of the properties filled out, and can be processed accordingly. Can I accomplish this by some ASP MVC magic?

  I have learned programming on .NET. It's been 4 years since I have started (serious) programming, I gained experience in VBA, JavaScript but mainly C#. I have spent a lot of time trying to grasp the good coding practices, object orientation etc. Now finally I have a job. The job is fixing/upgrading an ERP on a daily basis. Creating reports and maybe sometimes new stuff. I have absolutely no experience in Delphi, and no motivation to learn it especially when people are moving to .NEt from Delphi not in the reverse direction sa my manager expects :) The question is that are there any tools that I write C# code and compile into this object pascal or whatever it is. • Help with grasping (INNER?) JOIN

  I'm having trouble building a query. I can do what I want in 3 different queries. SELECT id FROM table1 WHERE url LIKE '%/$downloadfile' put that in $url_id SELECT item_id FROM table2 WHERE rel_id = '$url_id'" put that in $item_id SELECT rel_id FROM table2 WHERE rel_id = '$item_id' AND field_id = '42'" put that in $user_id But from reading examples on joins and inner joins I think there's a more elegant way. I cant wrap my brain around writing a better query (but would like to) I can describe how it should go: table1 fields: id, url table2 fields item_id, rel_id, field_id I know the last part of table1.url (LIKE '%/$filename') with that I select table1.id. table1.id is equal to one entry in table2.rel_id. So get that and select the table2.item_id. In table2 there is another entry which has the same table2.item_id and it will have a table2.field_id = '42' And finally the value I need is the table2.rel_id where the table2.field_id was 42. I will fetch that value and put it in $user_id Can this be done with one query using joins/inner joins?

  Hi All, in my application i am having a panel with associated a wxWindowDC and wxMemoryDC. i have to draw the various thing on that panel like bg color, on top of bg color bg image and on the top bg image i have to draw some text etc. I am storing all this thing into memory dc and finally in paint handler i m copying the memory dc to window dc. But i stuck in this process when i have a .gif (with multiple frames) and i m trying to bliting this gif image on DC that time it shows only a single frame of that gif image (its became a ordinary still image not an animated image). how i can store this whole gif image in memory dc and display full gif image on dc(with animation). I cant use wx.AnimateCrl() because i need that image in memoryDC. Any help really appreciable.

• How to unmangle exported symbols from C++ in dynamic libraries in XCode on OSX

  I've been trying to develop a dynamic library in C++ that can be run-time loaded in an application. I finally got it working, but it's a little ugly. I have a function that takes a pointer to a C++ class as an argument, which looks like this: bool registerGrindPlugin( Grind::PluginManager* mgr ); But of course it's being exported as: _Z19registerGrindPluginPN5Grind13PluginManagerE I tried a .c file with a simple function and it exported fine as "registerGrindPlugin", but of course I can't pass a C++ class as the argument that way. Soo... my question is, is there a way to unmangle or alias the exported symbol so that I don't have to use a monstrosity like Z19registerGrindPluginPN5Grind13PluginManagerE in my dlsym call? I did see something about -alias_list as a linker option, but I haven't quite figured out how to use it in XCode. If that is the solution, can somebody provide some more details on how to use this?

• Excel 2003 - ADDRESS() function issues

  I finally thought I had found a way to acutally use excel productively but the code that I followed does not appear to work. I'm thinking that the code is very limited and can't do what I want but I thought I'd ask to confirm - maybe it is my function that is the problem. I want to calculate the sum of a row of values for the previous month based on how many days we are into this month (i.e. It is the 20th of April so I want to sum the first 20 days of March to compare against.) =SUM(G4:ADDRESS(ROW(),7+$BR$3,4)) I basically want to SUM(G4:AA4) and have used the address function to return the cell reference AA4 by taking G4 and adding 20 to the column count. ADDRESS(ROW(),7+$BR$3,4) This successfully returns AA7 as expected HOWEVER, when I try to use the returning value in the SUM() function it throws an error... Am I not able to use this reference in my calculation?

• Debugging stack data not assigned to a named variable

  Is there a way to view stack elements like un-assigned return values or exceptions that not assigned to a local variable? (e.g. throw new ...) For example, suppose I have code along the lines of: public String foo(InputStream in) throws IOException { NastyObj obj = null; try { obj = new NastyObj(in); return (obj.read()); } finally { if (obj != null) obj.close(); } } Is there any way to view the return or exception value without stepping to a higher level frame where it is assigned? This is particularly relevant with exceptions because you often have to step back up through a number of frames to find an actual handler. I usually use the Eclipse debugging environment, but any answer is appreciated. Also, if this cannot be done, can you explain why? (JVM, JPDA limitation?)

• Align table columns HTML

  I finally was able to align the columns in the tables of a page of my website. Though I found the solution I don't understand it. This is a fiddle I prepared. If you delete display: block from the CSS the columns are centered perfectly. The fact is that I don't understand what that instruction is causing problems, doesn't it means that elements are displayed as block elements? Shouldn't it cause the elements (the raw in particular) to fill an entire line? Thanks for your explanation

  Does anyone have any advice for migrating a PowerBuilder 10 business application to .NET? My company is considering migrating a legacy PB application to .NET (C#) and I am just wondering if anyone has any experience - good or bad - that you would like to share. The application is rather large with 10 PBL libraries, some PFC as well as custom frameworks. There are a large number of DLL calls being made as well. Finally, it uses a Microsoft SQL Server database. We have discussed porting the "core" application code to .NET and then porting more advanced functionality across as-needed.

• Javscript filter vs map problem

  As a continuation of my min/max across an array of objects I was wondering about the performance comparisons of filter vs map. So I put together a test on the values in my code as was going to look at the results in FireBug. This is the code: var _vec = this.vec; min_x = Math.min.apply(Math, _vec.filter(function(el){ return el["x"]; })); min_y = Math.min.apply(Math, _vec.map(function(el){ return el["x"]; })); The mapped version returns the correct result. However the filtered version returns NaN. Breaking it out, stepping through and finally inspecting the results, it would appear that the inner function returns the x property of _vec but the actual array returned from filter is the unfiltered _vec. I believe my usage of filter is correct - can anyone else see my problem?
