  • Run Program on Startup?

    - by Maddest Hatter
How is it possible to have an executable run automatically on startup? Is it possible by having a shortcut to the .exe in the startup folder in the All programs section of the start menu? If that is correct, what is the full directory of the start up folder? C:/

  • High-quality PDF to Word conversion in PHP?

    - by cletus
What's the best way of converting PDF docs to Microsoft Word format in PHP? This can be either as a PHP script or calling a (Linux) executable (with proc_open()). It just needs to be relatively fast and produce quality Word documents (in 97/2000/2003 format). Commercial software is OK.

  • Adding Parsekit To An Xcode Project

    - by Garry
I am trying to add the Parsekit framework to my OSX Xcode project. I've never added a 3rd party framework before and I can't get it to work right. I dragged the included Xcode project into my 'Groups & Files' pane and chose to Add it to my project. I then dragged Parsekit.framework underneath the Link Binary With Libraries heading. Then I double-clicked my target app and added Parsekit as a Direct Dependency. I also added libicucore.dylib as a Linked Library (as it says to do this on their site). Finally, in the Build settings tab of my target info I set the Header Search Paths to /Users/path/to/include/directory and the Other Linker Flags to -ObjC -all_load. Running this as a debug build work fine with no errors. However, when I build my app to release and then try to run the executable created, the app fails to load with the following error message: MyApp cannot be opened because of a problem. Check with the developer to make sure myApp works with this version of Mac OS X. Here is the dump from the crash reporter: Process: MyApp [11658] Path: /Users/Garry/Programming/Xcode/Mac/MyApp/build/Release/MyApp.app/Contents/MacOS/MyApp Identifier: com.yourcompany.MyApp Version: ??? • Storing third-party libraries in source control

    - by graham.reeds
Should libraries that the application relies on be stored in source control? One part of me says it should and another part say's no. It feels wrong to add a 20mb library that dwarfs the entire app just because you rely on a couple of functions from it (albeit rather heavily). Should you just store the jar/dll or maybe even the distributed zip/tar of the project? What do other people do?

  • Fernflower Java decompiler help

    - by Nik
As the author has forgotten to add a detailed usage listing (or I can't find it), I wonder if anyone knows anything about the command-line options accepted by the FernFlower decompiler application. You can find an online version here: http://www.reversed-java.com/fernflower/ I'm trying to enable/disable all these flags that are present on that webpage. The actual command-line JAR can be found here: https://github.com/Bukkit/Bukkit-MinecraftServer Many thanks Nik

  • How to call bash process from within django / wsgi?

    - by chang
I'm using mod_wsgi apache2 adapter for a django site and I like to call some bash process within a view, using the usual ... p = subprocess.Popen("/home/example.com/restart-tomcat.sh", shell=True) sts = os.waitpid(p.pid, 0)[1] ... This code works perfectly from within a usual python shell but does nothing (I can trace right now) when called within django. Am I missing some wsgi constraints? The script has 755 perms, so it should be executable. Thanks.

  • Boost Jam vs Jam

    - by User1
I recently built the Boost libraries in Linux and noticed the package needed an executable called bjam in order to do the build. Is bjam related to jam? If it is related to jam, did they somehow extend (or even dumb-down) bjam? Is it used only for building Boost libraries or is it a general build tool for anything?

  • Read and write directly from and to compressed files in C

    - by victor
Hi, in Java I think it is possible to cruise through jar files like they were not compressed. Is there some similar (and portable) thing in C/C++ ? I would like to import binary data into memory from a large (zipped or similar) file without decompressing to disk first and afterwards writing to disk in a compressed way. Maybe some trick with shell pipes and the zip utility?

  • Maven. Transitive dependencies.

    - by Jake
This is a novice question. My project P depends on dependency A which depends on dependency B. My project's pom.xml file includes A as a dependency, and its jar is included in P's classpath. However, there is a NoClassDefFoundError thrown at runtime of P, which stems from missing B jars. Shouldn't Maven have downloaded these dependencies automatically?

  • PerlIO in Windows PowerShell and CMD.exe

    - by Evan Carroll
    Apparently, a Perl script I have results in two different output files depending on if I run it under Windows PowerShell, or cmd.exe. The script can be found at the bottom of this question. The file handle is opened with IO::File, I believe that PerlIO is doing some screwy stuff. It seems as if under cmd.exe the encoding chosen is much more compact encoding (4.09 KB), as compared to PowerShell which generates a file nearly twice the size (8.19 KB). This script takes a shell script and generates a Windows batch file. It seems like the one generated under cmd.exe is just regular ASCII (1 byte character), while the other one appears to be UTF-16 (first two bytes FF FE) Can someone verify and explain why PerlIO works differently under Windows Powershell than cmd.exe? Also, how do I explicitly get an ASCII-magic PerlIO filehandle using IO::File? Currently, only the file generated with cmd.exe is executable. The UTF-16 .bat (I think that's the encoding) is not executable by either PowerShell or cmd.exe. BTW, we're using Perl 5.12.1 for MSWin32 #!/usr/bin/env perl use strict; use warnings; use File::Spec; use IO::File; use IO::Dir; use feature ':5.10'; my $bash_ftp_script = File::Spec->catfile( 'bin', 'dm-ftp-push' ); my $fh = IO::File->new( $bash_ftp_script, 'r' ) or die $!; my @lines = grep $_ !~ /^#.*/, <$fh>; my $file = join '', @lines; $file =~ s/ \\\n/ /gm; $file =~ tr/'\t/"/d; $file =~ s/ +/ /g; $file =~ s/\b"|"\b/"/g; my @singleLnFile = grep /ncftp|echo/, split $/, $file; s/\$PWD\///g for @singleLnFile; my $dh = IO::Dir->new( '.' ); my @files = grep /\.pl$/, $dh->read; say 'echo off'; say "perl $_" for @files; say for @singleLnFile; 1;

  • "Hello World" in less than 20 bytes

    - by xelurg
We have had an interesting competition once, where everyone would write their implementation of hello world program. One requirement was that is should be less than 20 bytes in compiled form. the winner would be the one whose version is the smallest... What would be your solution? :) Platform: 32bit, x86 OS: DOS, Win, GNU/Linux, *BSD Language: Asm, C, or anything else that compiles into binary executable (i.e. no bash scripts and stuff ;)

  • NUnit isn't running VS10 code

    - by Ball
I'm trying to load a Visual Studio 2010 beta dll into the NUnit GUI. I get a popup error. This assembly is built by a runtime newer than the currently loaded runtime and cannot be loaded. You may be attempting to load an assembly build with a leter version of the CLR than the version under which NUnit is currently running. How do I force an executable to run under .NET 4 beta?

  • On linux, what can cause dlopen to emit SIGFPE?

    - by kdt
I have a library of dubious origins which is identified by file as a 32 bit executable. However, when I try to dlopen it on a 32 bit CentOS 4.4 machine, dlopen terminates with SIGFPE. Surely if there was something wrong with the format of the binary then dlopen should be handling an error? So the question is: What kinds of problems can cause dlopen to emit SIGFPE?

  • Java SFTP Transfer Library

    - by Claus Jørgensen
Hi I'm looking for a dead simple Java Library to use for SFTP file transfers. I don't need any other features beyond that. I've tried Zehon's, but it's incredible naggy, and I think 8 jar files is a bit crazy for so little functionality as I require. And the library have to be free (as in free beer), and preferable Open Source (not a requirement). Thanks.

  • How do you set the twitter user location in JTwitter?

    - by Gregg Reno
I'm building some basic Twitter functionality into my app, and am using the JTwitter JAR to read and set status. It looks like there is a User class that can be used to set the location, but I just can't figure out how to set it with my GPS coordinates once I've got my Twitter object. Has anyone been able to set the user.location property using JTwitter? Thanks, -Gregg

  • Conflicting ruby versions

    - by DavidP6
I am having problems with conflicting versions of Ruby that I have installed. I had 1.8.6 and then installed 1.8.7 and it has caused problems. I get the following error when trying to run my ruby on rails app: /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/i686-linux/rbconfig.rb:7: ruby lib version (1.8.6) doesn't match executable version (1.8.7) (RuntimeError) I would like to remove 1.8.7 somehow and just use 1.8.6 but have no idea how to go about doing this.

  • How to execute a program on PostBuild event in parallel?

    - by John
I managed to set the compiler to execute another program when the project is built/ran with the following directive in project options: call program.exe param1 param2 The problem is that the compiler executes "program.exe" and waits for it to terminate and THEN the project executable is ran. What I ask: How to set the compiler to run both executables in paralel without waiting for the one in PostBuild event to terminate? Thanks in advance
