  Hello, I am trying to understand, how can Voldermort be used? Say, I have this scenario: Since, Voldemort is a key-value pair. I need to fetch a value (say some text) on the basis of 3 parameters. So, what will be the key in this case? I cannot use 3 keys for 1 value right, but that value should be search able on the basis of those 3 parameters. Am I making sense?   I am trying to reset some values in a form using the a4j:actionParam tag. But it seams that null values never arrive in the target bean. The converter receives it correctly, returns null, but it is never set in the bean. The target is to fill in the start and endDate for different predefined values (last week, last month etc). • Identity column SQL Server 2005 inserting same value twice

  I have a stored procedure that inserts into a table (where there is an identity column that is not the primary key- the PK is inserted initially using the date/time to generate a unique value). We then use SCOPEIDENTITY() to get the value inserted, then there is some logic to generate the primary key field value based on this value, which is then updated back to the table. In some situations the stored procedure is called simultaneously by more than one process, resulting in "Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint..." errors. This would seem to indicate that the identity column is allowing the same number to be inserted for more than one record. First question- how is this possible? Second question- how to stop it...there's no error handling currently so I'm going to add some try/ catch logic- but would like to understand the problem fully to deal with properly

• AdvancedDataGrid dynamic text Value Coloring - ItemRenderer problem

  In my AdvancedDataGrid, I am adding dynamic values to cells by dragging a cell value to other cells. While copying, I am setting the value to listData and setting the Red color to the value in ItemRenderer. Everything is working fine, but when I scroll down/up, the values remains in the cells where thay are supposed to be(as I am setting to listData) but the coloring behaves wierd(as I am trying to set the color in ItemRenderer). I don't want to store the color of the value, but I should be able to see the dynamically created values in Red color. Is there a way, I can do this? Do I need to set the color to actual dataprovider object and then check in ItemRenderer?   I'm trying to find a cleaner alternative (that is idiomatic to Scala) to the kind of thing you see with data-binding in WPF/silverlight data-binding - that is, implementing INotifyPropertyChanged. First, some background: In .Net WPF or silverlight applications, you have the concept of two-way data-binding (that is, binding the value of some element of the UI to a .net property of the DataContext in such a way that changes to the UI element affect the property, and vise versa. One way to enable this is to implement the INotifyPropertyChanged interface in your DataContext. Unfortunately, this introduces a lot of boilerplate code for any property you add to the "ModelView" type. • Interesting issue with ScriptManager timeout value happens only in win2k machines

  When I set the Asyncpostbacktimeout value to a large value like 3600000000, the scriptmanager throws a timeout exception (it throws the error almost immediately after user action which triggers ajax request, so it is not timing out because the server is not responding). If I reset this value to some sane number like 3600 or even 36000, it works fine. AJAx content is getting updated in the page. This weirdness happens only in windows 2000 machines and does not happen in XP machines Any thoughts ?

  I would like to programmatically add to Windows a name / IP association so that this name can be resolved locally. This does not have to be persisted between reboots. The only way I now is to add an entry to the "hosts" file, but this feels hacky especially since I would like to automate this. Is there any way to do this using a command-line tool or a Win32 API? Perhaps by addind an entry to Windows DNS cache or something similar? Oh, and please state if this solution is Vista-compatible. Regards. Edit : Thanks, guy. Sadly, all of your answers indeed involve DNS or other servers. I was looking for a purely local solution which would work on a "standard" Windows installation.
